Great balance of everything here. Usually not too busy (though it does get crowded during peak hours), enough space and equipment to spread out and feel comfortable. Overall pretty clean, and the staff is quite friendly. With the recent switch from LA to Esporta, the prices have also gotten better, for the exact same equipment and features. As long as it doesn’t cause the gym to become overpopulated, this is my gym of choice in Little Rock.

Beware of signing up for personal training at this location. I signed up to give it a shot but little did I know they only have one certified personal trainer with some non-certified trainers. To my knowledge two trainers have left the company and Im sure its because they were unhappy with the culture of this company. Now Im on the hook to pay 50% of my remaining annual contract to get out of it.

Would not recommend becoming a member of this gym to anyone. While the gym itself is pretty good, the people that run this gym are unaware of how to communicate or really use their brains at all in fact. I would hire my 12 year old cousin to run this place rather than these clowns. Not sure why it is difficult to communicate changes to policies when they happen

The gym is pretty cool. I was introduced to their HIIT class & went a few times until I was informed that it’s a extra $50 a month. along with $25 a month for a membership.. I just went to cancel my membership but I wasn’t informed that it COST to cancel before 4 months. like make it make sense. So i had to pay a EXTRA $27 to cancel after I already payed my monthly fee THIS MORNING. The communication ain’t right.

Gym itself is great, but the staff is so bad. I can’t believe these people graduated high school. The manger will just get all butt hurt so be very careful around him he “might discontinue your membership” he’s all talk no game. He’ll threaten you tho

Esporta Fitness is a wonderful place to meet your fitness needs. The facility is nice and clean. Their trainers are very caring and well trained. Jordan and Merci are very nice and helpful.

Work out experience could be enhanced with DIFFERENT types of equipment. Only have stationary bikes, treadmills, ellipticals and stair steppers... unlike other ESPORTA/LA FITNESS locations in Texas.

I’ve been a previous member of two other large fitness centers in Little Rock and LA Fitness has by far the most complete range of equipment and amenities the others don’t have like 3 racquetball courts, a basketball court, lap pool, personal training area, huge aerobics classroom and giant stationary cycle class room with over 50 stationary bikes.

Without question the best gym I have ever been a member of. The equipment is top notch. The staff is very friendly, knowledgeable and eager to help in any way possible every single day. The maintenance/cleaning crew are second to none as you wont find a cleaner facility in Arkansas. As an LA Fitness member for over 6 years and over 38 years of weightlifting experience these are facts not hyperbole!!

I love it! Lots of machines and free weights. Plenty of room as well. Always clean and tidy. Has lockers, sauna, pool and jacuzzi! Pricing is a little high but you get your moneys worth.

First time at LA Fitness. I called in before coming to get a tour. Spoke with one of the managers (Dominique) and had a very professional and quality tour around the entire gym. The sauna and the pool stood out the most in this cold weather. The manager was very friendly and awesome helping me decide on my future workout goals and plans. If its your first or fifth time here dont hesitate to join this place.

I noticed negative reviews on here but saw how old they were and wanted to give an update. I last went to this gym in 2015. I was nervous about going back in bc of COVID and a little embarrassment. Dominique treated me with such understanding and professionalism. He made me feel right at home and was very clear about fees. I was offered a month-to-month contract and he made sure I knew how to cancel if I wanted to. I was impressed with safety measures in place and how well I was treated by Dominique, Alan, and London. I felt like they went out of their way to meet my needs and go above and beyond. I feel so much better about going back to this LAFitness location.

Its an alright gym. Doesnt seem to have good staff retention so signing up for a membership with one person and getting assistance will change frequently. Broken equipment and items dont get replaced in a timely fashion but if youre looking for a place for treadmill and weights, cant go wrong.

No complaints about the facility.Staffs are not friendly enough. The previous manager used to take responsibility to resolve issues and very friendly with members. Now the team has changed.. one Manager points to another Manager and forcing you to end the conversation... Finally I cancelled my membership.

Brandan is an awesome personal trainer here! My husband and I have worked out with him three times now. He is down-to-earth, informative, and always presents interesting, innovative workouts that work multiple muscle groups at the same time. LA Fitness as a whole is a great place to workout, with lots of equipment and friendly, helpful staff.

This gym is great. They have everything I need. My wife and I worked with Brandan for a few sessions, and he was personable, knowledgeable, and creative with our workouts. The classes are fun, the equipment is in good shape, and it never feels too crowded.

This gym is very clean. There is a woman who constantly cleans up. Equipment is usually always in working condition and the sauna is nice. There’s one corner of the gym that you cannot walk into if you don’t have a trainer. It would be nice if you could however, since there is not a lot of floor space for stretching.

It’s a gym. Nothing more. Nothing less. Like the members. Everyone there seems to treat each other with respect. Read a lot of comments on how difficult it is to cancel your membership. I know nothing about that. If I ever cancel I guess we will see. Somewhat clean gym. It’s not spotless. I go there to do cardio and to lift weights. for that it’s above average. Location is good for me. I don’t have any real complaints .

Its an ok place to workout however i feel like they are overbearing when they get your number. I had someone call me like 3 days back to back asking about doing my membership test or whatever they call it. I joined the gym to workout not be hassled by the workers allow me time to get my schedule together and ill contact you. I also took a friend for a guest pass, they have called ans texted her everyday since. They need to be less overbearing and pressuring people to join they OVERPRICED gym..

Went to LA Fitness twice to cancel me membership and both times the people at the front desk refused to process my cancellation. In addition they told me I would be billed regardless for an additional month. This is the treatment I get after being a member for 5 years. Shady business practices. Beware!

You get Alot done at this gym! Theres Alot of machines available! Everyone seems really determined! Daycare is really clean, and theres only a few kids, so it helps them keep a great eye on children. Theres always someone cleaning the bathrooms, so thats a plus!

Great place! There are many options for you to choose. Interested in swimming, racquet ball, basketball, exercise classes, large selection of machines,equipment or weights! Employees are always friendly and willing to assist.

I agree with the people who have had negative comments about the staff. People at the front are not welcoming at all. Usually sitting around talking to one another instead of greeting guests when they come in. A friendly hello or good-morning would be nice or even a goodbye or have a nice day upon leaving. Not a great way to start or end your workout.

After reading poor reviews related to excessive billing and misinformation upon sign up I decided to sign up for a 6 month membership at this gym because it is very nice.Was told I could cancel 6 month membership at any time due to moving and not being within 50 miles of an LA Fitness. Joined gym 16th of December 2017, moved and notified them in March, still have to be paying for and retaining membership through June (original term of membership). Could not reach customer service to discuss it, could not get a call back when told I would get a call back.The group work out classes were amazing, Melinda was an exceptional motivator and extremely welcoming, the University location is also very nice and has everything you need, if not more.The 3 stars is due to the lack of communication. The sales rep assured me that if I was moving to a location outside 50 miles of an LA fitness (or associated gym as i read in the contract) I could cancel my membership. I found out I was moving in January and went to work on cancelling the membership, you have to mail in a letter to their main center and have it processed with takes 6-10 business days of course (just a preprinted letter generated off their website where you input the address youre moving to, doesnt require a signature of anything). I ended up paying for 6 months worth of the gym membership with their courtesy of letting me still come to the gym until the end of my membership in June, but of course I had moved in March.So.... do not sign up for the membership if you have any wish of cancelling. If you wish to not be auto renewed, let them know a couple months ahead of time just in case.

My wife & I had the worst experience ever at this LA Fitness. Child care is horrendous. Whenever we dropped our 14 month-old child off someone from elsewhere in the gym was always filling in and dont usually work back here. One morning we worked out & dropped our Little off; the guy filling in that day was glazed out staring his phone, despite there being 6 or 7 rowdy kids ranging ~4-10 years old back there. We mentioned this to the supervisor, Gary, who said hed talk to the worker. When we picked our child up 30-45min later, the worker was still on his phone, totally checked out with the kids running wild. Our 14 month-old childs nose was bleeding, and the worker off-hand mentioned oh yeah, hes been crying nonstop since you left.We were pretty upset, but Gary was with potential clients so we asked that he call us back that day when he had time & he agreed. Gary never called. So we went back in to have a conversation since it was apparent he had no intention of following up. He assured us that he would have the video recording of the kids club reviewed & get with Wes, the GM of the Chenal location, within 2 business days and resolve the issue, because he has a young daughter and understands were were coming from. Gary never called. So we called several days later to see if any progress had been made, and Gary brusquely informed us that basically tough, youre under contract so were not doing anything.It took complaining to LA Fitness Corporate to get any traction on why their childcare is so patchwork, negligent, and why this location is disinterested in following up with concerned parents. We dont expect 5-star childcare at a gym, just someone responsible whos not checked out, and we think its a reasonable expectation that we shouldnt worry about if our kids going to be injured & ignored whenever we leave him there.Long story short (too late, I know): childcare here is negligent, management is callous and unreliable. We will never darken the door of LA Fitness again.

The director must be on steroids! He yelled at me and kicked me out the gym , threatened to call the police 🚨 on me if I didnt leave ,all because I didnt have my scan card on this visit and wanted to charge me $5.00 dollars for new card just to work out , my membership dues are deducted out of my banking account monthly and are currently paid for the month , no consideration for my membership standing or my apology for not having it with me , Im very angry about what just happened to me by Two large Caucasian males with no consideration for a black paying customer, its like I was stealing, or my membership isnt wanted there or piss him off so that he doesnt come back...,,I was wronged , treated badly, no respect, it shouldnt have came to this result , you treat members this way La Fitness.... I wonder if others have felt this way about this gym , cant believe me experience here.......11/22/2016 time 8:30 will never forget this day!😡

A lot better than Planet Fitness, less rules, no LUNK Alarm. Friendlier staff as well. Plus more people actually working out than sitting around on their phones

Great gym, pool is small and Im used to the YMCA back home which has more amneties like towels if you forget yours. But over quality equipment and many different weights to choose from.

Nice and expensive full service gym. Come here if you need and can afford a personal trainer or enjoy working out in classes. The alternative is the cheap Planet Fitness for $10 dollars a month.

Spacious gym. It has all equipments at least 2 of each for weight lifting. Cardio section is the largest. Basketball is a plus (not a fan). Pool is well maintained. Small jacuzzi.4 stars due to workout classes (zumba, abs, etc). Irregular timings and inconsistent. You cannot attend a class daily at the same time.Membership required (per annum), initial fee is very high compared to other gyms (got it covered).

I really wish I could give this LA Fitness 0 stars. Do NOT go to this gym! The staff does NOT care about you as a customer. The first problem I have with this gym is the initiation. I luckily paid in full, so I do not have a monthly fee. But when I signed up I was supposed to receive a shirt, a towel and a lanyard from them. I got everything but the shirt. I STILL havent received a shirt and its been since the beginning of October 2016. I have literally called for 4 months just to try to get a damn shirt! They lack on their ordering of items that customers SHOULD get upon signing up. They claim they have a new person ordering shirts and when he/she does, they never order enough and every time I call they ALWAYS run out. I am not so much mad about that as I am about how they are treating my friends/family and myself.When you sign up, they want you to put in (their system) people to come workout with you, and everyone you may know that includes name and number. What they dont tell you is that they are going to call and HARASS those people who do not have a membership with them until they get you in the door and take your money. I was told by Wes (the GM) that these people would NOT be called. I specifically made sure of this. But somehow MY friends and family are telling me that LA Fitness is calling them almost EVERYDAY and have not stopped.So just today, I tried to call and resolve the issue before I took it up with corporate. I was told by the staff that Wes would be there by 9:00a. I called a total of 4 times. About the 3rd time I called, staff had told me he just stepped in the door, that was at 9:45a. I called back a couple more times only to be put on hold for 7 minutes and for someone on the staff to tell me that he would call me back in 5 minutes. That was at 10:02a. It is 11:10a now and I still have not heard anything.I am going to call corporate and let them know about my issue. This is just a warning to those who want to try LA Fitness in Chenal, to be careful who you trust with you money and the customer service that you receive along with it. This gym DOES NOT CARE and WILL give you the run around. This is also the first review I have ever written about a place being THIS BAD. Its a lovely gym but it is not worth the hassel of the entire staff and the dishonesty and disrespect. DO NOT BUY A MEMBERSHIP HERE. DO NOT GO TO LA FITNESS(Chenal). Customers be warned.***REVIEW UPDATE: I called back around 12 this afternoon, never talked to Wes but got to talk to Chris Taylor, the assistant manager. He assured me my contacts would not be bothered and said he would take care of my shirt. Its sad this is taken this long. But I gave another star only because Chris Taylor helped me.

Want basic cardio? Fine. Want to be just a sell? Even better. Terrible management and customer service. They change the plan without telling us. The classes are a joke. (A yoga class taught by a teenager who actually got on her phone to take selfies repeatedly during the class and clearly didn’t know real yoga). The TVs only sometimes work and the WiFi never does.

Clean. Lots of free weights. Visited while traveling out of state, and was accommodated well by staff. Wasnt crowded.

The gym itself is great! There are a ton of machines - and enough weights that I never end up waiting to workout (unlike my previous gym). The Kids Club is especially handy, and I really love the group classes. The facility is always clean (even the locker room), and most of the employees are friendly.Ive only had one negative experience with one of the employees, and I think its worth mentioning. During a fitness assessment he managed to insult my degree after asking me what I studied in college (any degree in the arts is completely useless according to him), he said Jesus Christ about 17 times - a bit excessive, he called me uncoordinated - and instead of motivating (which I think he may have been going for), he left me feeling pretty down. It wasnt positive at all....Overall, Im happy with the gym facility - so I share a positive review, but it may benefit them to consider a different kind of person for a position thats supposed to be encouraging their customers.

I have been debating on giving a review or not and after my experience this morning I figured i would go ahead. Equipment is ok. Most of the people that go here are rude and seem to very judgmental you try to say hi or smile and they just turn their nose up at you. You see the same people everyday trying to accomplish the same goal you are but can’t even acknowledge you said good morning etc. Most of the employees don’t even acknowledge you walk through the door or as your leaving. There is one girl though that works at the front in the mornings that is always sweet and smiling. That’s why I gave 2stars. The women’s locker room and showers are really dirty. There’s no vents in the shower areas so when you get out of the shower your all sweaty all over again. I will continue to go to this gym for now just because it’s right down the road from my work, but I’m not impressed and not happy with much about it at all.

Apart from cardiovascular and strength training machines, a nice pool, jacuzzi and sauna are added plus! I never went for personal trainer, but my buddy said he had satisfactory sessions!

I was here for a year, but could not stand how uncaring the staff is. I was told in my free fitness assesments (scams to get you to spend more money) that I would never meet my fitness goals without a trainer, that it was next to impossible. My first assessment, the trainer left in the middle and said he would call to reschedule the next day but never did.Next, theft in the lockers rooms is a serious issue of safety. There were only three people in the locker room when a phone was stolen that I left in an unlocked locker in my purse while I used the restroom. The LA fitness staff member was in the restroom the same time as me so its a comfort knowing she was not the one who stole it. However the girl that did (the only other female in the locker room that left) never checked in to the front desk when we checked for her in the checkin logs. The LA fitness staff member had seen her face too and could not find her or anyone that looked like her in the checkin log. When I said I wanted to cancel my membership because I didnt feel safe that anyone could just walk in here when staff leave the front desk unattended, they didnt even care or assure me that they would pay more attention to safety. They have a kids club here, I wouldnt ever leave my kids while I workout knowing that if the front desk is unattended anyone could just walk on in. You can pay much less for facilities with more amenities and better staff. I will not be spending my money here anymore.

The staff at the Chenal location has no professionalism. The woman that I spoke with over the phone literally was talking to me as if she was having a conversation with one of her home girls. LA FITNESS IS A COMPLETE RIP OFF AND I WOULDNT RECOMMEND ANYONE START A GYM MEMBERSHIP WITH THEM ESPECIALLY AT THIS LOCATION. WILL BE CONTACTING CORPORATE FURTHER ON THIS ISSUE TO MAKE SURE SOMETHING IS DONE ABOUT THE POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE AT THIS LOCATION AS WELL AS THE MANAGEMENT TEAM OVER AT THE S UNIVERSITY LOCATION.
