I had found 3 stray cats and I wanted to take them to shelter for them to be safe, and the lady that came out that worked there gave us a very bad attitude and sounded like she didn’t care at all, but she said she was getting someone to get them and no one came out, we were waiting for hours seeing if anyone was actually going to come out until we came across this guy telling him when the people were going to come for them and unfortunately he said no one was gonna come out so he took them instead and he was very nice. That lady does not know how to work a job correctly. If you’re not gonna care then leave the job like it’s not that hard. Go work in McDonald’s or something cause that’s where you belong.

Imagine having your heart set on having another fur baby added to your family and the people agree to let you adopt one. They tell you just wait until the dog is spayed and you’ll get a callback. Imagine getting a callback but missing it by like 5 minutes and then a lady name AMBER, picks up the phone and catches an attitude on every inquiry you have for the future pup you want. You remain calm and follow her instructions on filling out an application 3 times for the same dog! You wait some more you wait 2 weeks and she has the same attitude and this time decides to hang up in your face!!! I wait a day or two later and it says the dog you’ve waited almost a month for is adopted by someone else…. I was so heart broken and upset because AMBER didn’t want to do her job. It discouraged me a little but I’ll just search for another fur baby elsewhere .😞

I’ve tried all week to get some information about a dog that I would like to adopt for my family. The lady that answers the phone is very rude and wants you off the phone ASAP. (She’s the only person I’ve talked to and I hope for the sake of these poor animals that the rest of the staff is more professional and caring). I was told by a friend to ask for Desiree. I’ve left a message for her to call me back with the receptionist every day this week. With no call back. The way the lady is acting that answers the phone I doubt she’s even passing my messages along to Desiree. I’m not one to leave a google review at all but if this somehow helps those animals find there forever home, then so be it. I am and I will continue to pray for the staff and the animals at this facility.

I followed each and every rule that this facility required in order for me to adopt this beautiful pure-blooded Pomeranian. A white couple came in, and told the manager that they were there before I was. To my surprise) the white manager believed them. Why I say that the manager believed them over me? Is because I was the only one the manager told too run around town. And gather evidence that I was there before the lying Caucasian couple. This is really disappointing. While the dogs explained were abandon without food nor warmth, the responses are not aligned with their “charitable” websites advertised supposedly offers service if payment of SURRENDER was provided. That’s a rescue? No money...no rescue should also proudly be displayed alongside the “welcoming” name of their facilities.

I spent a day on the phone. The front desk staff is beyond rude. More than once I received attitude when trying to figure out the best way to make things work out, as I was going to make an 8-hour drive for a dog.“First come first serve” pressure is enforced HARD. And then you either adopt before ever meeting the dog, since meet and greets aren’t until 10, or risk someone else adopting out from under you.Worst of it was they discovered, after three phone calls, a week and a day of holding the dog, and two hours AFTER I’D SIGNED ADOPTION PAPERS, that the dog I was actively ready to take home was not a male but a female.Disorganized, the place smells like cat piss, rude staff, poor communication, ridiculous scheduling. Terrible experience!!! After paying $90.00 for the release of my own animal and ticketed for which the tags were mysteriously taken off his collar which he had on is by far the biggest money hungry organization Ive seen. They are very unprofessional and rude and will ticket you and force you to court on your first offense! Also they simply just dog snatched in my opinion because he was picked up directly across the street from where my home is located. They threatened to put him down and demanded shot records on a Saturday for which the Vet he sees is not open on Saturday to reproduce those records. They showed horrific insensitive attitudes in front of my 6 year old daughter and treated as if I was a criminal and snatched our 5lbs pom out of my little girls hands. This organization sadly should be shut down!!! Its a scam and a way to stalk responsible pet owners and charge them with frivolous at large charges when merely feet away. They have been seen in my neighborhood multiple times a week and are simply taking animals in hopes for a nice average pay day of $185.00 a pop. This facility hide behind laws and simply abuses those laws meant to help protect animals to exploiting them. This is my opinion and simply stating my experience. But imagine being a mom with your daughter picking up a 15year old family member whom gets confused and finally being happy to locate the family member to only be charged with court fines and ticketed. I believe one should be responsible but life is not perfect and someone who vaccinates and has a privacy fence and is VERY RESPONSIBLE should never be treated like pay or I will kill your beloved pet! So if you have ever lost your pet check with them as they will not attempt to find the owner but simply hold your pet ransom.

I dont know who keeps saying that the kennels are Nasty and need to be cleaned up, but they are WRONG the cats are treated with care and respect. The dogs that are cowering in a corner with their tales tucked are newcomers, dogs that had just got in and are still attached to their previous owners or are not used to humans. The dogs that I saw were friendly and sweet, ya some of them may be a little energetic but thats because they want to go outside and play. Dont put this animal shelter down for anything! Ya I may only be 11 but I notice more than you do, I hate it when animals are mistreated and I can tell if they are but in this case theyre not being mistreated. Im going back to the animal shelter today to volunteer, you can say what u want but many people know the truth! THE ANIMAL SHELTER IS AWESOME AND DOES NOT ABUSE ITS ANIMALS! Im in gifted and talented at my school so Im pretty smart and I pay close attention, I think thats what all u haters need to do! I hate to give a review like this, but when I was taken to the back to look for a specific dog a few weeks ago, it was absolutely FILTHY. The smell was so bad that I was constantly resisting the urge to gag. I work in a vet clinic and understand that the smell happens even in clean places, but not here. There was vomit, diarrhea, or other waste in nearly every cage, and the volunteer who took me back didn’t seem to notice, even as we were looking in the cages. Then, a customer came out of one of the rooms saying there was “a dog loose” and the volunteer with me IGNORED HER and brushed it off. I explained to him what she was saying, and he brushed it off again. Finally she came to the front of the clinic and repeated herself, adding “someone needs to come get it” and they all looked at each other until someone finally reluctantly got up to go with her and find the dog. If any one of these things happened at the clinic I work at, the employees involved would immediately be fired. I know these are volunteers, but if they really care this little, something is wrong. Maybe I just visited on a bad day, but that was unacceptable. This doesn’t even seem real to me. I am shocked that a facility this nice would have occurrences like this.

This place is definitely out of the way, but in a good way. Its on a large plot of land with lots of space for the animals to play outside of their kennels. Its cutely landscaped with statues of puppies and planters of flowers; very welcoming. You need to let someone know at the front desk what youre looking for and theyll call an attendant to show to you the animals. Rather small cat room which takes up no space at all, has a nice set up with the kitties viewable from both sides of the wall. There are 2 rooms for dog kennels, maybe a tad bit smaller than the ones I see at the humane society for example. Front desk was helpful and direct. She was in there for only TWO DAYS when they had put her down. TWO DAYS! The Director thought she was too aggressive. What did he/she expect for an animal that had been just separated from the only family theyve ever known? She was just scared. My dog had been warming up to one of the workers pretty well. There was hope for her. We had kenneled her before with no problems, and no problems when she had to stay at the vet overnight. She deserved way more than just TWO DAYS! We are extremely heartbroken. We wanted help all we got was our dog slaughtered. She was loved, she had lots of love in her. She wasnt given a fair chance at all. All dogs deserve longer than two freaking days!

Why pay for something, if when you need it, it’s unavailable, or the people that were hired to provide this service obviously don’t care. I’m truly at a loss.Update- Seems there have been a lot of complaints about the front-desk staff here. Is this also the woman that answers the phone? If so, totally agree! She’s trash at her job. We first visited in mid-November on a Saturday looking for a cat. The staff/volunteers were friendly and helpful... We picked out a cat but couldnt bring her home because she needed to be spayed. Before pick up day we received a call that she had already been spayed and they found her microchip during surgery. The director offered for us to come back in and not have to pay any additional adoption fees since they were running a special the weekend before. We arrived the next Saturday during their posted business hours (starting at 8am) but were told they didnt open to the public until 10... Since we drove an hour to get there we waited in the parking lot. Eventually another volunteer let us look and we were able to adopt that day... Staff on this day wasnt even cordial and we had to pay additional adoption fees since she was considered a kitten. We received no information on after care for her spay or information on vet services performed or going forward. Actually the lady at the front desk probably didnt say two words to us and wouldnt even look up from her computer or phone. We noticed walking thru the facilities that there seemed to be a lot of respiratory issues with the animals. I also overheard a foster volunteer talking about trying to get several of her cats over respiratory issues and asking the other volunteer if we would be a good home for one of hers. Obviously there are a lot of animals, a lot of work for volunteers and just over all hard to keep everything clean... Some of the animals looked like they maybe even needed to be quarantined for different reasons?I would encourage anyone considering a cat adoption from this facility to do research on FIP (feline infectious peritonitis). Wed never heard of this until taking our cat in to the vet after less than two months of being home... She was unfortunately a textbook case of this and we had to put her down because she could not eat or stay hydrated due to the FIP. FIP is fatal and your fur baby will waste away within a month. I would certainly not adopt a kitten or any cat that had not been at the facility long enough to become symptomatic.

They only do it if there is absolutely no other choice.Secondly- people who said they keep kittens in small cages clearly arent aware of the fact that the shelter is very often overfilled and volunteers and employees alike often take kittens and puppies home for fostering to not keep the animals (be it cats, dogs, kittens or puppies alike) in small cages in back rooms.

I would NEVER by any means recommend this shelter to anyone. Avoid at all cost! My family and I had the terrible, traumatic experience of unknowingly adopting a SICK 16 week puppy. Within those two days that we had him, we quickly fell in love with him. He was originally full of energy and the sweetest as he could be. On the third and last day we had him, His health quickly went downhill. I woke up to him consistently throwing up and having diarrhea. We grew concerned & took him to the vet to be tested. Unfortunately, he tested positive for “Parvo”. In which is an extremely common & in most cases a fatal virus found among young, unvaccinated pups. Due to costly treatment and a low percentage chance of survival, due to his age, weight, & state of health .. we decided our only choice was to have him euthanized (“put down”) to end his suffering. Due to devastation, frustration, and confusion as in why we were able to adopt such a sick puppy, we drove to the shelter right after and told them what our issue was. They lacked empathy, no display of further concern, and didn’t care to go into details. They showed nonchalant and unsurprisingly behavior when we told them that he tested positive. Their only response was to ask if we wanted a full refund or wanted to adopt another puppy. Why would they even think it was appropriate to quickly offer us another puppy not even after an hour of euthanizing our original pet? On top of that, after closely looking at our adoption documents, we discovered that his listed shelter location was “the Dog sick room”. In which we were NOT notified about during our adoption process. We were just told he was up for adoption & nothing was mentioned about his current health. Another thing I should have taken noticed of before adopting was that numerous of dogs were lying in their own feces. More than likely most of their dogs also have this virus. Compared to other shelters I’ve visited, this one has to be the worst!Besides experiencing emotional distress, my main issue is that they claimed to provide him an overall full exam & vaccines. Within that exam they so called claim to perform, they should have checked for the parvoviruses. Being that it is such a common virus among dogs, period! The vet themselves said that he obviously had the parvoviruses before we even adopted him.Basically, I would warn all pet lovers to stay away! Don’t bother adopting from this facility by any means. You’re risking a chance of taking home a sick animal. They are money greedy, hire unskilled staff, and just want to get the animals out of their facility as soon as possible, no matter what their health conditions are. Save your time, money, & self from disappointment.

If i could give a zero rating i would, Ive been waiting on a call for 4 weeks just called back this evening and got told the director has been out and my application was sitting on his desk how ever the lady that answered never asked my name , i am looking to adopt a pitbull puppy that has a 1/2 acre of fenced in yard to play in.. Not happy with the way they do business when it comes to a animals life, as these animals stay locked in a cage very upsetting when there refusing them a good healthy life....

Although we were there to donate blankets and collars and other needs, I remained in the car, amazed at the entire property! There are huge, fenced areas where people can be, with a potential adoptee, it is by far the most impressive shelter I have ever seen!

Very disappointed in my experience here. I waited over 20 minutes to get escorted to the cat Room and still no one showed up. The person at the front desk just said they were too busy.
