Kate and Nick were professional and personable. They, with their technicians, diagnosed the situation and gave a reasonable estimate in regards to the time and dollar amount. They came in more cost effective and in less time than they originally quoted. I’ve been coming here since 2015 and I will continue to do so. They quality of the parts they use in conjunction with the quality of their service is very good. I appreciate everything they have done.

Jenison Auto-Lab provided excellent service for us. We had a complex repair: timing chain failure on a Cadillac CTS. I thought my best option was to take it to a Cadillac dealer, however, Auto-Lab had their ASE Certified Technician call me and explain that Auto-Lab is equipped and staffed to handle this repair. Auto-Labs staff communicated with us as the repair progressed. I know for sure that the price for the work was fair. I also appreciate that they didnt tack on extra expenses, instead covering additional issues with no extra charges. If youre looking for a skilled car repair facility staffed by trustworthy technicians, then give Auto-Lab your business.

Can’t say enough about these guys and I NEVER leave google reviews. My battery was corroded and I needed this fix done ASAP. Called them and it was literally fixed and handled within 30 minutes of arriving. They also installed a battery I had purchased elsewhere. They are wonderful especially the girl in the front.

I had an emergency car issue coming off the highway and pulled into Auto Lab. I was greeted with nothing but friendliness and was helped immediately. They were upfront and honest about the entire situation. I was even pulled into the shop so they could show me exactly what was wrong on my vehicle and explain things clearly to me (being a young female, SO appreciated.) They promised not to fix or charge anything until I was given a thorough quote. They then spent the day researching and came to find out it was a dealership recall issue. I received a phone call, and they were upfront and wanted to insure I received the most fair and appropriate services. Highly impressed and would definitely recommend! Amazing customer service!

I was told they were not busy and bring it right in. I was not impressed at all and should have walked out as soon as I walked in. The first thing that was wrong is it smelled like Marijuana in the office. The second part was they had friends hanging out. I was told I would get a call in an hour with what was wrong. I contacted them 3 hours later to find out what was wrong. The manager answered and informed me the tech had a family emergency (which I can understand) and had to leave. He said he also had to leave for awhile and was surprised no one called me. They needed another day to work on it. When I got the call for what it was, a tune up ran me over $900. After feeling of being trapped due to every other mechanic around town was out a minimum of a week for appointments. I had to say yes to the repair.I will never be back and will never suggest anyone else to go there. Always listen to your gut when something feels off.

I saw a good deal on Groupon for an alignment and the place seemed to have decent reviews so I ordered it. Talked on the phone to someone and everything seemed good, I could drop it off the night before or the morning before and they would get to it at some point during the day. I appreciated them being able to text me and ask why I was getting the alignment done. They asked for my Email around lunch time to email over a quote with recommended repairs. I responded in then then half an hour. I get a text at 2:30 asking if I had gotten the email which I didnt see and they suggest I check Spam... It was in the Spam. Here is where the issues started happening. The prices are ridiculous They said the vehicle needed 2400 dollars worth of work. They wanted 450 bucks each for the upper control arms. I checked Advanced Auto Parts and also AutoZone and they had a perfect fine Control Arm for 70-100 bucks a piece. If I wanted to order GM control arms like quoted I found them for 200 bucks online. I understand that shops make some money off of parts as well as labor. But every single line on the quote I was able to find a quality replacement part at any auto store for tons cheaper. And I know shops get discount on top of that. I told Cait that my mechanic had recently checked everything over and everything seemed to be tight enough for a 20 year old truck. They responded they would do the alignment and never responded. I am now without my vehicle for the weekend and very upset no one reached out to me one way or the other. What was supposed to be a simple drop off the truck and get an alignment has now turned into me not having my truck for the weekend and no way to get ahold of someone. Will not be using them again.

My Mercedes dealership quoted me $225 for a simple repair. Autolab completed the repair for $58.33. The OEM part at the dealership was $175. The same part at Autolab was $11.55. I dealt with George and Kate on the front end and they are both warm and inviting. True professionals. Thank you to the technician who completed the work as well.

I had a part replaced on my vehicle a few weeks back and the part put on was faulty. That’s fine it happens. I called to see what we could do to fix the issue and was met with extremely rude customer service that basically left me in the dirt. I then got my mechanic involved and he was treated poorly as well. Finally he as in the mechanic not me got a call for me about having it fixed at another Napa dealership. No communication back to me and gave my Mechanic 1/2 of a puzzle to complete because he failed to provide him any part info for us to turn in. I am just disappointed on how all of this was handled. The customer service was terrible and communication to your actual customer is lacking.

Took my truck in last Friday to get brake lines that i had tried to replace at home, the line was already disconnected and removed by me and my grandfather, i was charged $725 for 6 hours and them using my brake lines that i had purchased from OReillys without my consent, as i had left them in the back seat, meaning they had picked through my vehicle to find them, they were covered by a camo net, then after i had received the truck back later that Friday, the lines were still leaking at the master cylinder, and needed to be bled Monday as i had work later that last Friday and didnt have time to wait (for context i work 2nd shift and im out until midnight) the service tech exclaimed when i was there to pick it up the first tim around shell stop on a dime. This was entirely false i had to jam my breaks to the floor in order to stop prior to the proper bleeding, and i dont like to be lied to dagnabbit, overall the service was alright but the attitude i got was pretty bad, 10/10 would not recommend

Such a great place! I went There to get my oil change and my car inspected. The staff was super helpful in telling me information about my car. They went above and beyond to help me with a awkward and rare problem...I had A sock as a power steering cap 😂 BUT they enjoyed the entertainment and even replaced it with a new cap(which I may Add was a lot nicer than a sock) 😂 thank you for all the help!! Had a few year history with auto lab regarding issues that the Ford dealership could not identify or repair but auto lab did without a problem. Its sad when the dealership had my car for months and never figured out when autolab did immediately. Most recently they did a check for my long journey across country from hood to trunk and I dont believe that I would have been reassured enough without the mechanic himself telling me every aspect of what needs to be done and when and outlined it, but was given the safe go ahead, 1200 miles later, not a problem in my travels. That says more than you know about trusting a mechanic and his team. You wont be disappointed.

Ive used Autolab in the past for oil changes and other minor stuff. Today we did major work that took them nearly all day. Excellent work, delivered on time and as promised. Excellent labor rates, and happy with the final price. RECOMMENDED!

We took our 2014 Honda Accord in for brake service and a replacement of the starter motor. The problem persisted even after a new starter motor was installed by Auto-Lab.They took the vehicle back and found a problem with a broken flywheel bolt that actually appeared on a Honda technical service bulletin. They went above and beyond normal service and fixed that existing problem, returned the vehicle to us, and its working satisfactorily. We are more than happy with the service and technical expertise we received. Thanks Auto Lab.

So Amazing!!They got me in right away to replace a headlamp today. I had called other places closer to me , but no one could see me till the next day. Will is one of the most knowledgeable managers I have ever met in grand rapids. I moved here almost 3 years ago and I have finally found a shop i can trust with my car. I have visited over 10 different shops in Grand Rapids since the move and this one is the very best.

I have been bringing my cars here for a long time. I have always been able to get my car in the shop in a timely manner and it does not take too long to get the car back. All the work has been top notch. I dont feel like they are trying to upsell unneeded work like I have experienced other places. Repair costs have been reasonable and always end up close to what I think they will be. They are all nice, honest, friendly and easy to work with. I will definitely continue to go here.

I was very pleased with my experience. The prices are fair and they fix your car right the first time. They didnt try to sell me a bunch of repairs I didnt need. They did tell about a couple of minor concerns and to watch them over time. I appreciated their honesty and I will definitely return for future car repairs.

Steal Your Money... Brought my car in for repair I had noticed that my front left tire was reading low in the dash so I asked if they would include oil change and tire rotation? Yes no problem. I had surgery and could not pick up the car until Sat. the same tire that was low to start with was now visually lower, but if they rotated my tires then that low tire would be on right not still on the left. Also there was no report from the worker saying that any tire was low. At this point it was so low I could not drive too far without filling. $15.00 they charged me for nothing! Ladies be careful at this place! Auto Lab just lost a customer in me. very disappointed. I cant post unless I fill in a start cause thats how they operate.

Had fast , quick service all in and out the same day. Price was quoted way higher by two other mechanics. Staff was friendly, explained everything well. Waiting room was clean , big and attached to Speedway so my kids could get snacks while we waited!! Definitely recommend this place.

I got my car towed to them and they were able to get my car back to me the next day... the only problem was the my did not fix the problem and on the way back my car broke down and I had to get it towed back. They did pay for towing and fixed the problem. They are really nice people!

Went into AutoLab a couple months ago thought I was going to get the run around like at most shops where they try to sell you everything. I was very wrong the Manager Greg was so nice. He told me exactly what was wrong and showed me the problem as well. Greg was so knowledgeable about my problem had it pinpointed in about 5 minutes and had me back out the door within the hour. I then went on to explain to the employee how an appointment works & why people make appointments. He never once apologized.His solution to the problem at hand was for me to set up another appointment on a day that works better for me?????? LolThis was my frist and last experience with this shop.

Way over priced. Quoted me 3X the cost of parts, and refused to work with me on price or would not even take a suggestion when I tried to show them cheaper parts that were OEM. Front counter was very rude. Save money and get a better repair at Ensings.

I chose Autolab because they were willing to tell my wife that the repairs on her car werent worth it, and I respect that. With the car shows, I also felt I was getting a carguy. I came in because my car was not running well. They agreed with the engine light, that it was the cat converters. $1500 on the first visit. They also suggested a second repair that would need to be done soon. I drove home, it still wasnt running well, took it back. They performed the second repair, $300 .Took it home, still wasnt running well. The 3rd visit wanted another $1000 or more to fix the leak, which I am still not convinced is the main issue.[Edit: added more details][Edit: The owner called me confused, saying he do the repairs. That is true. The service engine light indicated cat converters. They replaced them. They fixed the other part too. However, my problem was chugging, chattering, and stalling, which the car still does. I dont think the root cause was identified, and I would not have been willing to sink $2500 or more into a car worth a few grand. I am disappointed that I spent $1800 here on a car that is going to die soon.Adjusted rating to 3, it was fast friendly service, and my friends recommend it, so your mileage may vary. I was disappointed.]

BEWARE–BEWARE—BEWARELesson #1: Stay away from Autolab in JenisonLesson #2: After having service done on your car, ALWAYS check your hood to make sure it’s latched.On January 4, 2019 I visited Autolab in Jenison, Michigan for an alignment because of the great reviews I read online. Apparently my Prius’ 12v battery died on the alignment rack so they jumped and charged my battery.I left Autolab and ¼ mile away as I was entering the onramp to highway 196, my hood flew up and smashed my windshield. This means that whoever opened my hood to jump my battery didn’t even close the hood with enough force to engage the first stage of the two-stage latch. There is no reason to do this. Hoods should always be closed with force in order to assure they latch properly—and they should be double checked so that they don’t fly up and smash the windshield.I called Autolab the next day and spoke to the “manager”, Will, who assured me that “the most important thing is to get you back in your car as soon as possible.”Over the next 5 weeks, I provided Will with all the important information pertaining to my case, told him that I was paying out of pocket for a rental car, and eventually started calling Autolab two times per day because Will refused to accept or return my calls.After 5 weeks and a $650 bill for a rental car, and Will FINALLY told me that his insurance was not going to pay for the damages to my car caused by his shop. [As the manager, it’s his job to make things right. Whether his insurance pays for the damage does not concern me. I contracted with Autolab, not Autolab’s insurance carrier] He strung me along for FIVE WEEKS, refusing to return my calls, knowing full well that I was paying out of pocket for a rental car. He even accused me of bothering him at his shop, stating “You know, I have a business to run here!” Well, part of your responsibility as a business manager is to CORRECT THE DAMAGES INFLICTED ON A CUSTOMER’S CAR BECAUSE OF YOUR EMPLOYEES’ NEGLIGENCE. If he had let me know right away that he would refuse to make things right, I could have had my car fixed and paid my deductible, with no need for a rental car, paid out of pocket, for 5 weeks.I will NEVER go to Autolab in Jenison, Michigan again, and I’ve told everyone I encounter about my experience and have advised them to steer clear of Autolab. I’ve also contacted the BBB regarding this situation.

Had appt on monday for alignment. they call me and say machine is broken 15 minutes before appt and reschedule for friday. I left it thursday night. They call me friday and ask why vehicle is there. I tell them that is when they rescheduled. They call me late afternoon and tell me vehicle wont fit on alignment machine and they cant do it. They did not know it would not fit beforehand? Really bummed me out~

Had a rather decent experience with AutoLab as my vehicle broke down unexpectedly and that’s never fun they have a nice facility and moderate customer service. I’m knowledgeable enough to know when I’m getting ripped off and when I got the call for my quote I thought it was a bit high and my coworkers thought AutoLab was a bit “high” considering the amount of work I had them do it. And when I looked over the bill I found out there was an extra 100dollars on the main part ordered for my vehicle and I can’t do buisness with a company that has to make their bottom line like that.

Auto-Lab provides the best auto repair that Ive experienced in metro-GR. This is because they:-Are thorough in their diagnosis. Independent shops are sometimes at a disadvantage because they have to work on so many makes and models, and from what Ive experienced elsewhere, this translates into throwing parts at a car in hopes that your problem will be solved. I havent experienced that at Auto-Lab. When they call with a quote, theyve isolated the cause of the problem, and have researched the least painful way to get it fixed.-Are honest on the work that needs to be done. I get the feeling that they value my dollar as much as I do.-Inspections are helpful, in that they tell you of upcoming maintenance items.Im always disappointed when I go somewhere else - I wish every shop was like Auto Lab.
