Although we did not end up buying a car here, we had a good look at a few and did some test driving. The vehicles are well maintained and are in excellent condition at a fantastic price. David even offered to put any car I was interested in on the lift to take a good look underneath. The service is leagues better than even some of the dealers we went to, and David was very transparent about any concerns that we had (which were very few).Will definitely come back here when I need a used car or car repair service.

In all honesty I thought it was too good to be true, a selection of well maintained vehicles in immaculate condition, I found a unique opportunity to buy a car I know will last. For the first time I felt I bought a brand new used car...The vehicle was shipped to me fast. The staff was very bold, confident, and knew exactly what I was looking for, all doubts were erased via a FaceTime call, this changed my skepticism. These are great people, they have a great selection, excellent service, my best car buying experience ever.

Thank you guys for everything! You guys went above an beyond. This is not your standard mechanic/dealership. I purchased a use truck from these guys and again they went above and beyond. They could of sold my the truck as is.... I went to test drive a truck that drove beautifully but had a lot of mileage. I took it to another mechanic to get a second opinion and saw there was a oil leak. These GUYS fixed it with no questions. Not only fixed the problem but did it with integrity. We arrived to see what work was done and showed us all the details done and completed.Sales is sales at the end of the day. I understand this but they do not just try to make a quick sale. They were there from start to finish! Again, thank you guys!

This hack of a shop is no good. They stole my ez oil valve, planted oil on my oil pan trying to say Im leaking oil. I was referred to this hack shop by discount tire to get a couple of wheel studs fixed that they stripped. So yeah I would NOT use either shop if you care about your vehicle. I do recommended using Midas, 2500 S Dairy Ashford Rd. Those guys will take excellent care of you!

To long to tell the whole story on I ended up at Universal Auto Center and met David. I was looking for a good Texas pickup to take back to Pennsylvania for use on our property. I was just about ready to call my week long search a failure and buy a return ticket to fly back home, when I made one last call. David answered the phone 10 minutes before he was due to close the shop. He offered to stay open for me to see the truck, which I did. He was up front on everything about the truck. I test drove it and told him I would take it. I made arrangements to come back in the morning to finish the paperwork and pickup the truck. Everything was ready for me when I arrived and off I went back to PA. David even called me on the second day of my trip home just to make sure I was ok, and I was happy with the truck. Who does that? I travel to Houston several times a year and I know I will be stopping back at Universal on my next trip just to say Hi and Thanks. 10 Stars in my book!

Bought 2009 Mini Cooper S. Body and miles were great to be honest and fair. Remember to test drive on freeway then have a neutral person stand in back and check for smoke and black soot on tail pipe. Take two people along to shop for cars. 1st week check engine light came on shop covered parts and labor. As well as replaced tire with a nail at no charge. Dealer promotes extended warranty for future issues and your peace of mind. Bring back to dealer for repairs and save or go to specified dealer for more experienced techs... Do homework when buying any car dont be rushed and miss checking major stuff. Owner and sales rep offered to match any price before buying. Be sure you take time to compare cars and prices to other dealers. Owner was willing to work with financing. Aul was great with no interest on extended warranty. We love driving Mini Cooper. Going to Universal was SO easy. You walk in, fill up a quick form, give them your key & hey presto your cars oil has been changed & the basics done. Nothing more, nothing less which is exactly what I wanted. No Can i sell you something you dont need? which is something I really dont like. I went to the shop to get my car fixed. I went on a Saturday morning when they opened and was told I would be dropped off home while they looked at my car. After being home for several hours with no update I called around 1:30 PM. Luckily I did call because they closed at 2 PM on Saturday. (mind you I have two small children with me as well.) I called and was then told the issue with my car by this time it was too late to submit any information into my warranty company because they were closed. Long story short I had to keep calling and have someone pick me and my kids back up, get my car that could not be fixed until Monday and wait all because they waited a WHole day just to diagnosis! Now here comes Monday. I called the shop early in the morning to remind the receptionist to call my warranty company and get the ball rolling On my repair so I can bring my car. I was already frustrated as I don’t feel they are organized at this point but I decide to give another chance. The receptionist said give her a couple hours and she would update me in a little bit. However...I called my warranty company three hours later And still no call from the mechanic shop. Never heard another word from this shop. To solve this problem I just went to a totally different mechanic shop. I got my car fixed the same day in a matter of three hours I wasted my time with this place and I advise others not to waste theirs. Very unorganized....Never again! GO ELSEWHERE!

The owner David is absolutely one of the most honest & intelligent auto care mechanics Ive ever encountered. They give good prices and honest opinions. Its easy for dealers to take advantage of you when youre trying to buy a car but David will talk to you straight and give his expertise. They provide detailed reports of the car you want to buy and are trustworthy. Ill never go anywhere else to get my car checked.

Great staff! Great work! Extremely honest and upfront with what you need compare to just trying to make a buck. The staff is extemely personal and they get to know you by name and your vehicles. They could work a little bit on proactively communicating as they are doing the work on your vehicle, but that is a minor area of growth for a great company.

Only service I can depend on for honesty and reliable results in regards to mechanics/auto repair. I have only been led to expect respectful communication and reliable outcomes when I take my Nissan rogue now, Mazda mistake in the past, here. I paid 870 cash, I was trying to paying the remaining 270 on my card beforehand but he insistsed I pay it when I came back to pick the car up. I came back to pick up my car the owner says I owed another 1200 for my bill. HE NEVER said I would have to pay another 1200 when I returned. I ened up paying 2000 all together. Then he tries to apologize, but an apology doesn’t fix when you tell someone a price than jack it up another 1200 because I’m a young, college student, African American female. This is absolutely DISGUSTING.. He is definitely a scammer and targets young females! DONT GO HERE FOR ANY BUSINESS! He will tell you a price then jack it up once you return.

Went in to get two stud replacements; shouldve taken them 30 mins. Instead it took them 3 hrs, they did a complete diagnostic of my vehicle, something I didnt tell them to do or give permission. I appreciate the thought but they ended up screwing with my engine. I took my vehicle to the dealership to change out my spark plugs and the mechanic noticed that the fuel pump valve has been switched with another valve, and some of the nuts were half screwed. Loud banging noises were heard coming from the engine ever since I left Universal Auto. So lesson of the day, nothing is ever *free* and if its too good to be true, stay away or else theyll screw up your car for the worst.

This shop has been here for years. My friend referred me here since he business uses this spot shop. They have quick turn around times for repairs and very fair prices.

Universal Auto is my go to auto repair shop.

Ive been going to Universal for a couple years now, usually for mechanical fixes, but also for oil changes sometimes (if I have time to drive down there--Ive moved further out now). Recently I was given the option of going to them or my dealership for a 60K mile checkup. My dealership incorrectly quoted me much lower than Universal did, so I went there. I was enraged to find out that the dealership had screwed up so badly, and I still had to pay for it... and then on top of that, I had some imminent repairs found during the checkup. So I called David for the repairs, not trusting the dealership any more. He helped me find lower cost solutions for my car and took the time and effort required to make me feel safer driving it! I cannot recommend the crew there enough.
