I love this place and places like it: small, conspicuous, bustling, family feeling. Give them a cylinder head, and back youll get a very clean, carefully prepared gift to your ailing engine. Happy to give them my business! Its a BMW so Im sure Ill be back real soon.Ask for Bobby with your bimmer questions, s52, s54, m52, m54 all good, and whatever else πŸ‘

Scroggins does excellent work for a very reasonable price. I had both my cylinder head rebuilt and block work done for my forged turbo BP engine build. The guys are very knowledgeable and friendly, and had my engine parts back to me in perfect condition in a timely manner. Highly recommended, I will definitely take all my future projects to them.

Dropped my Jeeps 4.0L cylinder head off to Bobby yesterday. I dont know a huge amount about engines / cylinder heads and he gave me some great info on the engine itself, the initial opinions of my cylinder head - and just overall didnt make me feel like an idiot for asking stupid questions. Great place. Excited to see the end result!

Hands down best machine shop I’ve ever dealt with. I’ve done business with them before on smaller projects, but the way they handled the motor build for my 2018 WRX was just flawless. The built my short block and head and did amazing work. And considering all of the other work they had going, they got everything done in a very timely manner. To add to all of that Bobby, tommy and butch are just great. They really took care of me, and when you speak to them their knowledge of their craft is astounding and it’s very obvious that they know what they’re doing. They are all also very down to earth and informative. Great experience with this shop every time and I’d recommend anybody to them. And I most certainly will continue to do business with them, projects small and big.

Called and inquired about a specific procedure in machine work they said we can do it. I brought my block in and explained to them that they were the only shop around because I had already called several shops and Scroggins said we can do that for you no problem. A few days later he calls and says no we cant do that service. Theres no one in the area that can do this which is what I already explained previously. I told him I was going to pick up my block because his shop couldnt do the procedure. When I went to pick up they charged me $165 for something they didnt even do. That was confirmed by the new shop that I directly brought the block to. They inspected the block and said you got ripped off. How about that not only did they lie about the work they stole my money.

When I finally got a response it was a message on my voicemail stating the motor had to be returned to him in the same state he got it. no help even to find where its leaking from.

Had them rebuild my 3.0L pathfinder that we have had in our family for 22 years. Before taking the motor to them I called and asked a million questions. EVERYTHING I ASKED AND WANTED THEY KNEW EXACTLY WHAT I HAD AND NEEDED NOT EVEN SEEING IT!! Its been almost 11 months and it has never ran or sounded this good in years. Great people to deal with and will recommend them to anyone that need a rebuild or head work. Just do what they tell you when you get it back and will not have a problem. Five star in my book!

I recently had an aluminum head (4-cylinder PT cruiser) rebuilt at Scroggins Machine Shop. Bobby was very helpful in evaluating the head and determining the best course of action. I feel like getting the head rebuilt was a much better option as opposed to buying a rebuilt head from one of these mass production shops--it also turned out a little cheaper too. Even though the pricing was just a little higher than competing shops, I feel it was well worth it to have someone knowledgeable and reliable performing the work. Bobby was also very helpful in providing advice on best practices for the installation of the cylinder head.I wouldnt hesitate to use Scroggins in the future.

I just met Bobby at Scroggins today, and I must say that Im impressed by the shops efficiency, tidiness, and quality. Their work seems to be spot on, and they are happy to talk to you about your project in a professional, yet very friendly, manner. After some initial confusion, I was able to track down my Honda CB750 moto head and cylinders, which turned out to have a bent exhaust valve.I have another upcoming project after this one, and I will be returning directly to Bobby for that work as well. Thanks, guys. ~Peter

Ive had Scroggins Machine do the cylinder heads on two of my Mercedes engines, a 1989 5.6-liter V-8 in 2010 and a 1995 3.2-liter inline-six in 2013. Both jobs were done with quality and excellence. Bobby and his team will take care of you. They are not the cheapest in town, but the work will be done correctly, the first time. On my 3.2 inline six, I was unable to remove the cam tower bolts, and Scroggins did the extra work to remove the bolts and cam/towers for a very reasonable price. I look forward to using Scroggins Machine again the next time I pull the heads on one of my cars.

I had a terrible experience here. I will give a little background first. I have used this shop a few times in the past to regrind ATV crankshafts which I never had a problem with. I measure them when they get back to me to verify a correct job. I have a personal project I have been working on for some time A 91 Nissan D21 with a turbo (KA24E) and have very limited time to work on it. I decided to send my block crank and rods over there to have the block bored and honed, rods shot peened and resized and the crank reground. This review has exceeded the character limit so I have to divide it up.1st of three problems. I sent a set of rods that I have checked, polished and balanced to Scroggins to have shot peened (an important step after polishing) and resized. A few weeks later I called to see what the progress was and was told that one of my rods was bent. I knew that that was not possible on account of me checking them before spending 10 hours polishing and balancing, I was told that the motor must have been hydrolocked at some point. I understand that rods do get bent and thought maybe it was bent by a few 10,000ths and I could not tell with my method of checking so I asked for them back so I could find a replacment rod, polish and balance it to the other rods. They were reluctant and said they could balance it but would not give me a price then after a few hours said they would send it back to me. Upon receiving it back i found a very obvious bend so bad that i could see it with my naked eye. During the time before they sent it back to me they sent a video of a rod being checked on a rod gauge, I suppose it was to try to prove to me that it was bent but the video was very low resolution and nothing could be determined from that. Anyways back to when I got it back, I saw hammer marks on the small end of the rod (the bent end) and could see scoring in the small end bushing as if a rough object had been rammed through it and though that is strange. I looked at all the pistons from that motor and there was no damage to any of them. I then was going to refit the pistons to the rods to install in their old block to see if it was possible to fit it in the cyl and line it up with the crank without causing damage to the piston (at this point I am giving them the benefit of the doubt and trying to prove to myself that the rod was bent before sending it to them). To my surprise I could no longer fit the wrist pin through the small end as the hammer marks and scoring upset the bore so much ( this is a floating pin setup ). So I called them back to tell them what I found and they said that there was no way they bent it. My final statement and proof of them lying about it is, in the video the rod on the gauge has a pin through it so there is no way that my rod was the one in that video. I ended up having to replace the set of rods and moved on to my next problem.2nd of three problems. My block needed to be rebored and as stated before I dont have time to do it myself and lack a powerstroke hone so I figured Id save myself the time and get them to do it. On getting the block back i saw that my pistons were not labled as to what cyl they go to I began to measure the bores and found that 2 cylinders had less than 5 ten thousandth of clearance and 2 of the pistons would not even fit in the bores. Spec is 15 to 20 ten thousandth and I requested that it be on the big side of that due to it being turbocharged. I called them and they said I probably dont know how to measure and it should be fine. THE PISTON DOES NOT FIT IN THE BORE!!! I do not need to know how to measure to tell you that there is not enough clearance. Then they said if I brought it back they would check it and if it was wrong they would fix it but I have no time for such incompetence I finish honed to 20 ten thou and went on to install the crank which brings me to the third problem.
