Its hard to put into words how much I appreciate this company offering high speed internet in my area. We were paying ACS over 100$ a month for a landline and DSL that was so slow it was basically useless. 40 kbps download speed. So after having been gouged for 20 years and still not being able to use the internet, the service offered by spitspots is very much appreciated. Now instead of having DishNetwork(200$/mo) and a landline(60$/mo without internet), we have decently fast wifi(120$/mo) and a couple streaming subscriptions (80$/month). Weve saved money, theres more content to watch with less commercials, and the best part.... Theres fast internet! If youve been screwed by ACS or GCI, I HIGHLY recommend spitspots. Its solid alternative to the awful excuses for internet providers that have enjoyed a monopoly.

Their Internet is amazing but it takes days waiting on hold on the phone just to pay your bill. It has been a struggle just to get set up on their customer service portal online to even get to their bill pay section. I absolutely do not like dealing with their customer service. They need to either hire more people to answer phones and help others or figure out an easier way for people to pay their Bill.

Customer service always friendly and helpful, gteat rates great internet, coykdnt be happier using a local company over a big corporation!

Pretty good internet

We are EXTREMELY satisfied with our experience with SWS. We live in Seldovia and originally ordered service from a competitor that never showed up for installation .After waiting 4 weeks for ACS to arrive or even answer their phone for that matter we decidedto call SWS .SWS answered our call immediately and had us scheduled within DAYS !Austin was our technician. He was here as promised, friendly and professional.Seldovia is a fly/ boat in Village so it’s worth mentioning for those that don’t know .Austins first attempt was cut short due to a tsunami warning, but he arrived again the VERY NEXT day to continue.We are all set up now with good signal.I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone in their service area!

I can say with certainty that this review would stand regardless of the increase strain from those families choosing to distance learn. Ive had spitwspots for years with no issues, until the beginning of this year. The rated speed available to my residence was tested at 7MBps which isnt the fastest but it was good enough for 4 people. However, on a normal day I would be lucky to see above 3MBps while I was the only one using a computer that was wired in, as soon as another person hopped on it would go all the way down to 1MBps. The teir of service I pay for this speed is 135$, which just so happens is the same as my electric bill and only one of those things is reliable, can you guess which one? Furthermore, if you think youll miss a payment due to the current circumstances then I suggest closing your account. The email system they use to notify people of billing is unreliable and if the wrong email is on file, or the right email even, they will not call but rather let your account go delinquent for FOUR months before shutting off your internet and demanding full payment plus late fees to turn back on the inconsistent rip off they call service.

Best internet ever

Insanely inconsistent and extremely unreliable.

We are paying for 100mbs with them and at best all we ever get is about 5 mbs and the latency is so bad we arent even getting that half the time

Spying on customers accounts is illegal and yet this place continues to do it. If I could give him a 0 I would. Very disgusted to deal with these people.

They gave away information about my wifi usage to someone who wasnt on account, and they continue to deny the allegations even though the person they gave it to told me. I closed down my account in several month ago Paid in full. Theyre still calling me about my account being open. This is the worst wifi company Ive ever had. Update, they could legally give the info away but they still deny doing it.

Spitwspots has provided the best internet we have ever had in Homer, not that they dont have slowdowns occasionally. Its fast enough and local support at 226 2082 is hard to match. They also have 1 hr free hotspots around town that i use frequently. New company on the way up.

Waited over a month after being told we could get this at our house and when the day came for them to install we never got a call like we were supposed to and the guy installing said hes not even sure why he was here because there is no chance of getting it in our area. Very disappointed.

I previously had ACS and was paying over $100 per month for 1mb/s now I pay slightly more but for way faster internet. They upgraded from 20mb/s to 50mb/s the week after I joined. I consistently get 35mb/s and frequently get the full 50mb/s Go for the normal tier internet if possible because you dont always get the hightest speeds, but you always get more than thier previously advertized speeds. I highly reccomend them. They have great customer service and are always helpful.

The customer service has always been polite and good to work with. Ive had service with them for several years now and they have always been quick to resolve issues although recently Ive had a long standing issue with fluctuating speeds causing my internet to be useless for the most part ive over and over again called tech support only to get the we will push this up the line and get back to you ive yet to receive any call back this problem persisted for nearly a month went away for a few weeks and has now returned and ive received the same exact response from tech support now that I did then.

We have had internet service from Spit Spots for almost 6 years. Having had another provider for many years in another Alaskan town, we can compare services. Spit Spots provides excellent service in all ways. The technical assistance staff respond immediately to concerns and problems and typically resolve them quickly (and we have only had a couple concerns in all these years). The office staff are great and very helpful about all questions. We are not sophisticated internet users, and the staff will patiently explain terms and provide information. Try their service and we think youll agree.

SPITwSPOTS is a blast to work for, and has brought additional options to Homer, Seldovia, and Anchor Point for affordable high speed internet.

Terrible. So slow. We werent able to use Netflix or any streaming in the evenings and even using Internet during the day is incredibly slow. We pay A LOT for 10 Mbps but we cant stream hd or even sd. Not worth the high expense.

My internet is down more then its usable. So far worst experience I have had with an Internet provider ever

My name is Pat and I am blind. My world use to be very limited to just the end of my white and red cane. My previous DSL provider could only supply point 1 mbps that is 0.1 mbps! I was a prolific reader before my sight loss and to utilize the Talking Book Library including audio downloads of books took forever! My previous DSL provider would require two hours to download a single volume which would time out from the library. Now I download a book in less than 2 minutes. It is not about the service it is about communication and connecting.In addition I was given a free ROKU unit when my service began and I greatly enjoy a variety of programs. Previously paying nearly $200 a month for DISH TV I was livid with commercial breaks over 5 minutes. I tended to zone out or fall asleep and thoroughly confused between commercials and programs. Being on a fixed income I chose SPITwSPOTS after watching their commercials aired at our local movie theatre. For less than my DISH TV and DSL service I now have the quality and speed of SPITwSPOTS service. They were polite and kind doing their site survey and when it could not be accomplished because of my location, a new support cell installed in our neighborhood made it possible to embrace this technology.I chose Netflix for about $8 a month I get a great variety of programs without commercials. Currently my wife and I are enjoying Voyager from start to finish. We are in season 6 now. I was educated on use of our service and appreciate the new 24/7 Tech Service available and have used it twice. The issues were resolved quickly and only once during our yearlong service did an equipment failure keep off the internet for a few hours.We have two computers, a ROKU powered TV and an IPad running simultaneously and no restrictions of service. I had only wished I learned of this great service years ago and saved so much more money and enjoyed my service greatly. It is not about the service it about being able to live the life you love with help from SPITwSPOTS.Sincerely,Pat and Shan

Horrible internet horrible service , being told its fixed when its not , unreliable internet speeds . Never had these problems when we first had spit spots hooked up but now its progressively gotten worst . Very dissatisfied and disappointed
