Hes an old school dentist. He doesnt believe in excessive work; if it aint broke dont fix it kind of mantra (as some dentists try to get you to do unnecessary work like replacing silver fillings that have nothing wrong with them just because they are silver). Im glad I went to him for a second opinion.

This might seem like ancient history, but its actually still very relevant. I went to this dentist regularly for a few years back in the 90s, when I was in my late 30s/early 40s. Prior to that, the only dentist Id ever gone to was my family dentist from growing up, who would always remark on what a great set of teeth I had. If I ever had a cavity, it was rare.Over the period of time I went here (for routine cleaning and exam), I was diagnosed with numerous cavities, although I was generally not experiencing any sensitivity or pain. On some visits, it was more than one, and as best as I can recall, it was never none. Although I wondered about it each time, I put my trust in the dentist, and had them filled. I thought that maybe, now that I was getting a little older, my teeth were starting to deteriorate. The last time I went, I was told I had four cavities, and I finally became suspicious. I declined to have them filled, and went to another dentist for a second opinion, who told me I had no cavities. Its now over 20 years later, and I havent had a single cavity since. In retrospect, it seems clear to me that this dentist was filling my teeth unnecessarily simply to make money. To say this is unethical would be an understatement. Personally, I think its criminal. Either way, it was an egregious personal violation. I probably should have reported it to the state, but I never thought to do so until years later, at which point I figured it was too late. Our bodies and our health are the most precious things we have, and we put an enormous amount of faith and trust in our doctors, that they will give us the care we need. To think that this doctor took advantage of the faith and trust I placed in him, and abused my body for profit, angers me to this day. I hope this review will help others avoid the kind of exploitation I suffered.PS - This review was originally posted in early 2019. Not long after, the dentist posted a response disputing what I wrote, and, owing to a confusion with my name, claiming that he had no record of me as a patient. He insisted that he would never recommend any unnecessary dental work, which my experience shows to be blatantly false. He invited me to call him to discuss it, which I did. I spoke to his office manager and clarified what my actual name was. She told me he was unavailable to speak at the time, but would call me back. He never did. Several months later, I noticed the review had been removed. I dont know why Google allowed that, and Im hoping they wont again, without at least consulting with me first. How can we as consumers rely on Google reviews if businesses have the power to unilaterally delete honest, negative feedback?

I was disappointed in this dental group and chose to go elsewhere. The first time I arrived for my 10 am appointment, no one was working. I waited for a good 20 minutes to see if someone would come in late. A receptionist happened to come in by chance and said no one wrote my appointment down and there was no one there to take me that day. I gave them the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled. For my new appointment, I got a call THE DAY OF telling me the hygienist cancelled and I had to reschedule. After that, I decided not to go back.

I used to hate going to the dentist, ever since I started going to them and I don’t mind it now. I still don’t like it!! But I feel very comfortable when I go in for a check up the staff is very friendly and caring. Dr. Neil always makes sure I am very comfortable and know exactly what’s going on before he starts any work. Thanks for making going to the dentist a good experience!
