This rental place has definitely made a change for the better. Ive rented cars here before and they were always dirty inside, gas tank on E, and surprisingly I was never charged a deposit. This time around everything was so much different. It was more of a professional service, car was extremely clean, gas tank full, they were super quick with the paperwork, and I was charged a deposit. Im glad to see they have changed for the better. Im guessing its under new management. I will definitely be a returning customer.

1st rental had a dead battery. 2nd had metal on metal scraping sound. 3rd had 3 nails in 3 tires. 4th rental I took wasnt sanitized, reeked of weed, used vape inside, spilled liquid in cup holder, excessive mud on mud flaps and mud spray on base of vehicle. Truck made an odd sound everytime you turn right. Associate was friendly. Couldnt remember his pin to save his life. Couldnt figure out how to change vehicle in contact. Didnt inspect 3rd or 4th vehicle with me. Misplaced paperwork everytime I handed it to him, even though it was on the counter in front of him. Exchanged vehicles by writing in pen on my receipt. Upon return couldnt figure out how to close my contract. Let next customer take the vehicle without cleaning or sanitizing it. Despite political beliefs I believe there is probably supposed to be some sort of cleaning or sanitizing before checking it out to the next customer. I am planning to contact the health department, the better business Bureau and write a letter to the CEO. This has got to be one of the worst customer service experiences Ive ever had. Sadly your associate was friendly and apologetic but he was left by himself and didnt know how to do what was needed to be done.

I rented a Dodge SUV on a Thursday for a week. The car seem to drive a little weird over the first 3 days, only to discover on Sunday the rear tire was soo bald you actually could see the inner rubber layers, it had a bubble, and the metal was sticking out of the entire circumference of the tire. When I discovered this issue I was in Twenty Nine Palms, Joshua Tree area. I had to drive 40 miles to Palm Springs Airport for an exchange, which completely ruined my car shopping experience. So i am scoring Avis Budget a 6 for the inconvenience and unsafe rental.

First of all, let me say how friendly the staff has always been every time I have rented from this location. Aside from that, my last rental experience was the worst I’ve ever had. It started with a phone call asking when I would pick up the car. My answer was noon. That’s when my reservation was set for. I was asked to come earlier because they close at noon. I’m not sure why the website let me reserve it for that time if that’s when they are closed. When I picked up my car, I was disappointed. The van was NOTHING like the one pictured on the website. It was the only van they had so I was stuck with it. It was completely different, outdated, and not comfortable for our long road trip. He said he was surprised to have this van because they don’t get them often. Umm, WHAT? Why are you surprised you have a van I rented for a big family trip a couple months in advance?! It was filthy! I had to go back in to ask them to clean it (which is not something I would have done if it wasn’t absolutely disgusting), setting me back for my trip. I was offered a $50 discount, which was a joke because I paid almost $800 for a week. When I brought that to his attention he said I only paid $170, which alerted me to the fact that he gave me the WRONG RENTAL AGREEMENT. So, I would have been screwed when I returned the van if I didn’t notice that. There were crushed Red Bull cans and mud everywhere (floor, seats dash, headliner, back cargo area). I had to scrape a glob of gum off the door. The cover for the jack in the back was broken and laying on the floor, unable to stay on. The back door to the cargo area wouldn’t open properly. The left door was broken, unable to be opened. There was also a large crack in the windshield. They never checked the mileage, and when I asked, I was told it didn’t matter. The gas tank was less than half full, and when I told them that, they said it didn’t matter either. It did, in fact matter, because I was asked when I dropped it off if the tank was full and he had the nerve to ask if it was CLEAN. It WAS, because I took it to the car wash and thoroughly washed and vacuumed it before returning it. Thankfully, I took pictures of everything so that I wasn’t held responsible. This was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. I never got the discount I was originally offered and also never got credited for returning it with an almost full tank. Also, there are clearly NO “extra cleaning precautions due to COVID-19”. There was NO cleaning done prior to giving me this rental. Customer service couldn’t help me with finding a replacement anywhere in Southern California, even though the Hemet office said I could exchange it at any airport rental office. Sadly, I will never rent here again.

Rented beautiful car with AAA discount. Their computers were down when we picked it up and again when we returned 4 days later. When their computers were fixed and they were able to enter the info, they neglected to deduct the AAA discount and then couldnt fix it. I had to call Customer Service, but they fixed it right away, returning the overpayment to the account. We will use them again, just hope their computers are up and running.

Ive been coming to this location since 2012 and always had great service. The guy behind the counter is a very easy going guy with a great attitude. You can walk in and see people inside laughing at his jokes and having a good time. He gives good deals and the car of your choice if he has it on the lot. Besides myself he has many repeated customers. If you go there youll see why.

Reserved a van a month in advance. I’m in San Diego county, and this was the closest location to me. Got a call the day before I needed it telling me they didn’t have one. Rather unsympathetic and unprofessionally I was told I was out of luck.Countless hours on the phone, had to pay more, and drive to Palm Springs to get a van. The initial rep told me he’d discount my total, but ‘couldn’t do it’ when the time came.The entire company has some of the worst customer service I’ve ever experienced, and I’ll never deal with them again. I was cheated, and lied to.This was my first and last time being an Avis customer.

Honest and fair pricing. No gotchas. Staff gets 5 stars. Have had all positive experiences. Highly recommend. Update: I have used this place to rent cars several times . Still a great staff . Have been given upgrades many times for free and not pressured to buy the insurance. Although I usually do with my one day rentals. And I wont mention any names but it Hertz to be charged for insurance the day you pick up the car. And again the day you drop it off by other Enterprising companies. Im a satisfied customer.

I live in Idyllwild and frequent rent one-way cars to/from LAX and SAN to Hemet. Comes out way cheaper than parking at the airport for long trips.Kary the owner has always been delightful and helpful.

The gentleman that was working the counter wouldnt accept the car back unless the floor mats were spotless and pristine. So I made a second trip to the car wash to completely clean it out again. Upon returning, the worker tried to argue that he wasnt sure if the mats were clean enough. The rest of the car? He didnt care. Floor mats were the target of his obsession. I wanted to throw the keys at him and leave. I will never rent from this store again.

Avis has always been my go to choice for renting cars world wide, but the Hemet location is simply the best! I am always greeted with a smile and handshake by the staff and they make the rental process enjoyable from start to finish. Its something that is harder and harder to find; great personal service and professional, well run operations. I highly recommend using this facility.

I love this location, the manager is very friendly. I was able to switch a car in Arizona with no problem, and he made sure they had everything ready before me, my wife, and our infant even arrived at the airport to switch cars. They even had the same kind of vehicle waiting for us, same color and all, lol. Very nice Buck Lacrosse. The original one we had became due for an oil change, so it was nothing major, we just wanted to have one with no worries.

Ashley gave us a quote on xmas eve. The system kept changing the price and the manager tried to fix it. Then he told us he would fix it upon return. Ashley wrote notes on our receipt for the correct price. Then after returning, we were charged a different amount! Very dissatisfied because she did not sign her name, they got away with it. We usually love this place but now we will never return again. Corporate doesnt help either because of her not signing her name under her notes!! Scam scam scam! We have 10 different charges on my bank account supporting her trying to swipe my card with the different amounts. My carbon copy has her notes transferred on it.

When I went to pick up my rental the agent had an additional choice of vehicle which was a definate upgrade. We had a great trip in a very comfortable vehicle and the price seemed very fair. I will definitely go back when I need another rental vehicle.

We booked a car a few days in advance IN PERSON with Avis and 30 minutes before we were suppose to pick it up, they called us to say they ran out of cars. They told us just to go to another Avis location, the closest being 30+ minutes away. And they didn’t even offer us a discount. Avoid this location like the plague.

Best place to rent a car in Hemet. The owner of this Avis was very friendly and understanding of my needs. Although he was out of compact cars, he put me in a midsize for compact price. Enterprise and Hertz locations were rude, inflexible, and/or had vans (no compacts or mid-sizes) available for rent.

I rent from budget out of monterey airport California and always receive exceptional service. I cant say the same for the budget located in Hemet Ca. When I picked up my rental from Monterey I noticed the car had quite a few large scratches. At this location a pre inspection is not done. I didnt mind the scratches and began my 350 mile drive. Half way there on the free way the crash warning light turned on with no car near me. This happened multiple times so I manually disengaged the driver brake assist. The front right tire also knocked and vibrated like the ball joints were bad. I made it to my destination with 3 kids in the car safely. I did a closer look at the vehicle and noticed the front grill was cracked right by the sensor that controls the assisted driver braking. There is also a dent on the bumper with what look to be spray paint where there was damage. The front driver tire also has a large gash with paint transfer from a previous accident. I called budget and advised of the unsafe condition of the vehicle. I was not going to risk our lifes driving this 350 miles back home. I was advised to take it to the nearest budget. I called the local hemet budget and advised my situation. The owner kary Marzi, not sure if he is the owner but thats what he told me. He said to bring in my vehicle immediately and they would give me another vehicle. I brought in the car to the hemet budget and kary was complaining about his,previous customer, very unprofessional. He then helped me and asked for the pre inspection report. I let him know that one was not completed. His response was I dont want this to be my problem just call road side assistance! Im at budget with a faulty vehicle and I need to call road side assistance? I asked him to do that for me and he said,it was not his problem. At this point I asked to write a contract that he is denying me a safe vehicle. He then got close to my face and said this was not his responsibility. At this point I said get out of my face and began recording audio of this insane man. I drove 1 mile back to my families house and called road side service. I told them my situation and waited 2 hours for them to tow away my previuos rental and bring me a safe vehicle. I didnt mind the wait but this man should not have the opportunity to take his bottom dollar over the publics safety. Thank you budget in hemet ca for ruining our family road trip. Update tow truck driver just arrived with no replacement car. What a joke... Final update it took budget 8 hours to replace my vehicle. I has to,dive in,a,tow truck to find an open location. Nearest one 1.5 hours away at ontario aiport. No refund was given to me from customer service not even for my gas i have to spend where I was picked up from. Definately looking into legal options after this.

The gentleman who operates this smaller Avis facility is superb in customer relations skills and attempts to render personal service. We utilize his service for an annual trip to local airports and THERE IS NO COMPARISON to Hertz which is terrible, especially at the airports. Avis does try harder.

Told me the price was one amount, then when I came to drop off the car at the time he told me to he says that I kept it for one extra day and wants to charge me double what he had originally told me and refused to show me why. The manager was not there, they told me to come back the next day and he still wasnt there. I left multiple messages with the other employees and never recieved a call back. All of the sudden the charge just hit my credit card that I did not approve!! Terrible experience. Never again will I rent from here and advise anyone else to also go elsewhere.

Customer service ok however the car I received had several scratches all over the car and was dirty. I have rented cars multiple times with Avis in many states and never experienced this.

It started out okay, and then after I had returned the car, I noticed that my card was charged an additional fee. I turned the car in on time, etc. I called the 1800 number and they basically said that I was charged extra because the manager added extra insurance, etc to the bill, when I did not agree to these. Horrible I will never rent from them again.
