Hertz says theyll refund you your deposit but they never do. I brought the car back super clean with full tank of gas. They also ignored and deleted a reservation from my insurance company. I ended up having to go to enterprise.

Renters beware!! This “franchise” is terrible and being a local from Gillette should let anyone know, if needing a rental.. do not use Hertz! Avis and Enterprise will take care of you, and for a much lower price and much better customer service. I ran into a hiccup with the rental and was using the car for insurance purposes. On a Monday- as their hours are not accommodating on weekends, and no emergency hotline, called and spoke with their manager and told them the hiccup- I was told to figure it out on my own, there was nothing they could do. Mind you - she told me she worked there for 35 yrs... (and doesn’t know how to help??) Come Thursday - I called them back for help- still no useable rental.. I was told to remove my personal belongings and they would pick up the vehicle, leaving me without one, charged me for extra days as they left me without help and a replacement for 4 days, however continued to bill for the car. Within 1 hour of them coming to the rental, (which they should have done on Monday) it was back up and running again. Prior to them coming I called Hurtz - the main company 800 number and this is a practice they NEVER do. I was left without a vehicle. HURTZ - Roadside assistance always provides a replacement. I was then told they are a “franchise” by the local company - and they can do what they want. CRAZY. Cause as a franchise you still have to uphold the same policies as the business itself. I finally called Enterprise, paid 850 out of pocket, got a new car, called my insurance and had the car rental changed. Within minutes of getting off the phone with my insurance Enterprise called me, and refunded everything I had to pay out of pocket. Enterprise has been amazing and I have heard great things about AVIS. Do not waste your time or money here. Terrible practices, terrible staff, and terrible customer service. I truly believe if they were able to get a better manager, someone fresh, who can keep up with policies, this business wouldn’t suffer the way it is. They need better help and more training.

I rented a rental from Denver to Gillette for 1 day (Saturday), I got to Gillette in about 5hrs, fueled and returned the rental. Nobody was at the counter as it was late in the evening. I filled out what paperwork I had and put that along with the keys in the drop box.I check my account and i was billed for two days and an additional late fee, Which the only reason I can assume is nobody processed the car in until Monday morning.**Renter beware, unless they have a attendant at the desk, they will charge you when they get around to processing your returned rental. Ill avoid this location and or Hertz if this acceptable policy.

Okay so besides the fact that this very rude lady was unwilling to provide any kind of customer service, I really need to stress rude here, they apparently dont even have the right hours online since I was told that I had to leave 40 mins before they were closed. Is it really hertz policy that you cant make amendments to your reservation? Thats a pretty terrible policy if so.

Nice staff, very knowledgeable. Its almost always empty because of how small the airport is and only getting 4 flights a day. Theyre usually in the back though.

I will never rent from here again. The guy that works here will file an unjustified insurance claim if you rent here. I have rented vehicles all over the country without issues, but the guy working at this location was dishonest and very arrogant. I can deal with them charging three times more than other places because of the location, but the guy working made some very suspicious comments when I declined the insurance coverage; basically saying I would be sorry if I didnt get the insurance. A few weeks after I returned the vehicle (and the Hertz guy and I inspected it), I was contacted with an insurance claim because there were tiny cactus spines in the tires. This guy had 4 new tires put on and sent me a bill for almost $700. After weeks of explaining to the claims dept that cactus spines will not penetrate tires (ask any rancher in the area), I told them I would pay the claim if they gave me the tires, since they had less than 1000 miles on them and they were holding pressure as documented in the photos they sent me. They said that was fine and that I could pick up the tires at the Hertz garage...even though the receipt they gave me from the tire shop said they disposed of the tires. Obviously the Hertz guy was going to take the tires for himself if I would not have argued. Another red flag for this guy having a severe character flaw was when I was getting the rental set up this guy was bragging that he got someone arrested because two co-workers rented a vehicle and only one of them was on the rental contract. The person not on the contract was driving when they were pulled over by the police. According to his story, the police contacted him and he gave them my (his) full authority to search the vehicle. The story ended with people getting arrested and probably loosing their job. The Hertz guy was very proud of himself while telling me this story. He has obviously been picked on his entire live and is using his authority as a rental car agent to boost his ego. DO NOT RENT HERE!!
