They did work they werent authorized to do on my BMW, thus resulting in me paying their ridiculous charges. Going to Bill Jacobs probably would have been less expensive. I am a long time Geneva resident, and I know Duke & Lees were trustworthy back in the 80s. Not anymore. $3,600

Duke and Lee’s stole my $100 Kershaw knife from my center console in my vehicle when it was illegally towed! Do not trust these people with your vehicle, my front bumper was bent out of shape and had numerous scratches all across the front. Ryan was the tow truck driver, so if they tow your vehicle for any reason, CHECK everything in your car! They are thieves and will not admit it! Horrible place to have your car towed to!

The first we called, they asked what the trouble was, with interest. When at the garage they showed the problem and explained the fix. Happy with their service and price.

NOT happy, and would NOT recommend. Duke & Lees worked with Atomic Transmissions in Villa Park to fix a transmission (Outsourced may be a good description where Atomic worked on the trans but D&L towed, removed and installed trans, and ended up attempting to diagnose further problems). D&L gave an estimate of $1,200-$2,800 to have the trans rebuilt. Over 3 weeks of waiting and several problems with the initial rebuild/ install, the truck was returned with an invoice of $3,600.1 month later, it was learned the trucks radiator had transmission fluid inside. Another mechanic took a thorough look at this problem to determine the trans fitting in the radiator was broken. Coincidence?? Maybe, but nothing was touched under the hood for this 1 month span.6 months later, the rebuilt trans broke down. Business was called and determined the 6 month warranty was 1 month over due (despite only 5k miles being driven). Also realized no warranty paperwork was ever given from the initial job. D&L agreed to bring the truck back to Atomic, (after a $500 tow to Villa Park) but could not give an estimate for the repair. After the initial problems, and now rude service with D&L, we decided to end the relationship with the company at this point and take the loss in fear we would repeat our experience again. Will continue to spread the work about our negative experience for those considering having trans work done.

I explained what service I needed and they said it would take about an hour to do. I brought my showroom antique Camaro in at the appointed time. I was greeted by an older man who looked under the hood and said something is sticky on the carburetor. I said thats why I wanted a new choke installed. He said Im not messing with it, slammed the hood down and stormed away. I asked him What should I do to fix it and, while storming away, yelled I dont know. What horrible treatment! I was stunned to say the least. If thats how they treat customers and their vehicle(s), imagine how they treat your pocketbook.

I brought my flatbed in for a tune up, a new distributor and some wiring issues. They fixed the wiring first, did the tune up, did some work cleaning up a broken distributor cap and replaced it. They charged me $1,500 and the truck never made it back to work because they had not cleaned it sufficiently before replacing the cap. They did not stand by their shoddy work. Now I have a truck that doesnt run, but which has some new wiring, new spark plugs, new spark plug wires and a new distributor cap. Nice work Duke & Lee. Bring your vehicles there at your own risk.

I rented a U-Haul trailer from Duke and Lees. They hooked up my trailer while I was inside paying for my trailer. When I was done, I got in my car and left. When I reached my destination and dropped off the trailer, the other U Haul location showed me that the tires on the U Haul were completely bald. They told me that it was very dangerous to be pulling this trailer with the tires in such bad shape and they could not believe that Duke and Lees would rent me this trailer. How can a reputable place rent me a trailer with tires that are dangerous? Dont they inspect tires before renting? When you put your customers safety in danger, it is time to look elsewhere for business.Luckily, there were no issues during my trip but beware if you are renting trailers from them.
