I have been a customer of Florida Pest Control for over 11 years across three properties. They kept sending small random bills, and unable to combine our properties into one large annual service. I would call and no one would know the status of our accounts, then I come to learn that over the years, they were skipping-out on the services we were paying for. Today I canceled all services.

Stay away if your problem are cockroaches. Paid $239 for a select service that would cover 3 visits. They came, put the roach baits and we continue to see roaches every where in the house. Not a single day has passed where I do not see roaches in different rooms. The numbers have reduced, but the problem persists and last night there was a cockroach on the wall of my bed. Called after 2 weeks since the first visit and asked if they could come in as part of the first visit without it counting towards our 2nd visit, and was told no that would not be possible as they do not provide any guarantee their service will actually work. So, STAY AWAY! There is no guarantee whatever service they are providing will actually work. Go with another company! Regreting what I paid.

I have been a customer of Fl Pest Control for over 20 years. In the past week I have experienced the absolute worst customer service primarily from the person who answers their phone and secondly from the quality of rodent work recently performed. Very disappointed and causing pause as to if they are still the best company for my pest and termite management needs.

Never use these people. I had termite policy with them that I wanted to cancel, they said you can’t cancel and you still own us the full amount. Then I get this letter in the mail. Who sends such a letter with this language. Be aware of this and think twice before you use them.

Highly recommend Dave Shea, the Bug Man. Over the years, Florida Pest has done a fantastic job of spraying quarterly and keeping bugs out of a house surrounded by Nature, to put it mildly.

Have had a difficult experience working with this company. They are no longer locally owned and just trying to get to the correct person to speak with is a maze of transfers and hold time. I was told the chemicals they use are safe for wildlife, but when I sought to clarify that with the actual technician, I was told that the chemicals are not safe for bees, butterflies or hummingbirds. This is different from what I was given to understand from the salesperson. I really wish I had never called them in the first place.

The pricing is pretty good. You get a better deal if you pay in full for the full year upfront. Rarely see any pests inside so thats a plus. All the techs have been friendly and professional

So I have been with them for about two years now and they are terrible I have to call them multiple times for service they say they will call you and never do and then when I call them I have to tell them I have a yard policy and it takes ten minutes to look up every time after they tell me I don’t have one bout to cancel my service

Bought a new home and have been constantly harassed for months by mail to renew the termite policy OF THE PREVIOUS OWNER. Aggressive and inappropriate sales tactics including calling me AT WORK. Use any other service but this company.

I have been a customer for several years now. I got several quotes and even tried one other service and they did not compare. Team members Leslie and Scott are the experts. So far bug experts Ive had best experiences with are Leslie and Scott Beech they both are friendly, professional, highly knowledgable, detailed, and passionate about finding problem and solutions. Terrible company since the original owner sold. Signed years contract, after 3 weeks still nothing done. Cancelled contract, ask for refund. 3 weeks now still waiting for my $900 back. BEWARE

Had noise in attic.service personnel came out but done nothing to find cause of noise. do not expect these fellows to do anything inconvenient nor difficult for them such as crawl into the attic. thinking i should have called GHOST BUSTERS paid them $405 for not much. they are good at passing the buck. my advise is to shop around for service and not place trust in this co. they were to return in a week to check on and or remove the escape trap. been more than a week.NOTHING. ever heard the phrase, take the money and run, well thats florida pest control in gainesville. originally gave them 2 stars for responding in a timely manner, now i would give them 3 negative stars. i would hope JR reads this

We bought a house and wound up with a worse problem than we started with! They also would show up without an appointment and charged for services not performed. One tech sat there playing with a roach I pointed out and released it and days or want an intrusive roach! Cancelled services and they do kept coming out with obviously no appointment and, again, would charge us! Very unprofessional when we tried discussing all of this. Run from this company!!!!!

The apartment complex I live in had a few buildings tented recently. The truck used had Aero Fumigation Services on it but upon calling they told me it was through Florida Pest Control. Not sure if these guys are direct employees of them or what, but it was really disappointing when I went outside to do some things to my car and the guys on the roof were whistling, yelling hey girl!, and trying to get my attention very disrespectfully. I couldnt even stay out there to do what I wanted to my car because they made me so uncomfortable and even more so because they obviously could see where I lived. Im sure that they had a supervisor around to see what was going on, but who knows. I was shocked at the unprofessionalism and really hope they dont act like this everywhere they go. Pretty concerning since they are going to places that people live too. Ive never had an issue with anyone from this company who has come inside to spray my apartment, so Im not speaking on the entire company, but these guys are obviously an extension and this issue needs to be addressed.

Im so glad I gave them a call! They are really nice people and they work around my schedule. If I need anything Joes always there to make sure things get done to my liking. Also they are very friendly and respectful with my four dogs. I couldnt be more happier.

I canceled my service months ago and there was a service bill left on my door this a.m.The office was fully aware the service was canceled months ago (someone left me a message to find out why Id canceled). I received a phone message last night saying someone would be by to spray. When I got the phone message last night, I tried to text, and call — their phone system (very intentionally) doesnt allow you to leave a message.The reason I cancelled in the first place was I wasnt getting enough notice to put my dogs up and was then unable to contact the office. I was left bills anyway, though my dogs were in the backyard. My guess is they were skipping half of the house and still billing me.I just talked to someone, who put me through to someone else who would complete the process. It rang 10 times before it went to voice mail.This company has intentional techniques that stall the communication process should you need to schedule your service outside of what theyve assigned to you... or acknowledge a cancellation. Terrible. Unethical.

Excellent company! They have taken care of every insect and critter problem I have had for the last 40 years! I think their long history of good service continues. I will continue to use them for all of my pest control problems in the future!

Although we have had a termite policy with Florida Pest Control-Gainesville (FPC) for many years, we recently contacted them regarding an ant problem. Glenn Garber, Sales Representative, did an inspection and took a sample of the ants to determine the exact species. We have been extremely impressed with Glenns knowledge and especially his patience in answering our many questions.

Ive been a customer for 7 years and my technician is the best, however, Im still experiencing the results of a poor exclusion job. Ive had several people to promise that the problem would be taken care but to no avail. Ive made phone calls to the household pest dept as well as actually gone into the office to be met with more empty promises.

First review ever on google, terribly poor performance by this company was what motivated me to post. Had brand new sod installed, was using a company, hired Florida Pest control to come in because they said they could do a better job and keep it nice, they were unable to that. In fact, the yard went downhill significantly more when they took over. Gave them many opportunities to correct the problem, and they failed to do so. Well see if they are able to correct previous actions the last time they come out. If so, Ill remove this post. If not, it stays. Good luck, but I would shop elsewhere.

Technicians seem to be experienced and thorough. No issues with service personal. Office staff is another matter entirely. Nothing gets communicated properly, we have to ask for things 2 - 3 times, seemingly having constant billing mistakes, etc. Anymore issues and we will be switching companies.

Ive had a pest control contact with this company for termites for 20 years. When I started having roach and ant problems I added the bug pest control plan. They had to come out so many times that I exceeded the plans allowed visits and had to pay extra. They never solved the problem and I had to hire another company to fix it. They did right away. I decided to sell the property in December of 2016, but their employees started calling me nonstop and insisted I email them if I intended on renewing my contract in Jan OR my policy would be cancelled. So I responded to their email finally, expecting I would receive the bill and it would be renewed when I sent in payment, like any other company. I sold the house so I did not reply to my bill or make payment. Now theyre harassing me with calls and emails and threatening my credit and civil action over $123 that they insisted I agreed to pay by responding to their email on a home I dont even own! Do NOT respond to their emails and insist on hard original signatures! Let me be clear. Theyre billing me over an email. They never visited my property or provided ANY actual service! Theyre pest control is poor and ineffective and they are very sketchy with business practices! Theres plenty of other companies out there besides these guys. Go somewhere else!

FPC has treated my home and our office for 18 years I must say they are the best.

We have been using Florida Pest since 1960 and their services they provide have been very good. The technicians that perform the service could not be more professional and we trust them walking through our home and property. Florida Pest gets 5 Stars for this portion of the survey. Customer Service, billing consolidation and billing simplification can not get any worse. We have 5 services from Florida Pest: Home Pest Control, Yard Pest/Weed and Feed, Ground Termites, Flying Termites and Shrub Pest Control. Each one of these plans has a different start date and end date. Each one is billed separately and the total is over a couple of thousand dollars a year. I have repetedly called to see if I can consolidate all of our bills into one payment with the same start and ending dates to get around the confusion that multiple plans creates. I have been told that there is nothing that they are willing to do because the billing software is so out dated that it will not allow for ease of payment from the customer. I have asked to speak with D.R. Sapp about this matter but was told that he would not speak to me and that this issue is non-negotiable. Shame on me for not having already found another good service provider that can make our life easier. We have been very loyal customers for a very long time and we would hate to leave Florida Pest after so many years. This type of service is something that should take place in the background once a payment has been made and not require constant billing attention. We would love to cut one check for all of our services and be done until the following year but that is not a service offered by Florida Pest. We will find a company that can do this for us and it may still be Florida Pest but something is going to have to give.

Moved to Gainesville in 2018 after 19 years in Orlando. In Orlando contracted with Massey for last 10 years for my lawn and shrubs. They were outstanding. Home I purchased in Gainesville already had FL Pest Control for termites. Decided to contract with them for lawn, shrubs and home pest control. Big mistake. In first year they have allowed my newly sodded side yard to die due to chinch bugs followed by fungus. This was followed up by my established front yard, back and newly sodded areas in the front yard dead and / or full of broad leaf weeds chinch bugs and their moths and dying in large patches. FL Pest blames excessive rain, wrong soil, wrong grass (St. Augustine and not Zoysia although most everyone in Gainesville has St. Augustine) type of sod put down (again St. Augustine) and rain washing herbicide off weeds as the myriad of reasons my front and back yards looks like they were carpet bombed. In other words my yard looks awful due to Mother Nature. Isnt that why you hire a lawn pest control company? Lawns to the right and left of me and across the street look great.I fired FL Pest Control yesterday for lawn pest service. In my view they have very nice people who are very responsive when you call but they do not know what they are doing with lawn problems and struggle mightily when you have new sod put down as other reviews on Google illustrate. Well see how things go with home pest control. So far so good. It appears home pest control is what they truly do well. Lawns is an add on service that they struggle with when problems arise or you have new sod installed.

FPC killed a small tree in our yard spraying herbicide on a windy day. The tree was finally replaced 6 months later. They stated they could not find a replacement tree which put me in the position of having to go out, find one and pay for it and then wait another week before they got around to bringing to our house and planting it and then the reimbursement for the tree I had to pay for took another 3 weeks. You have to keep a watchful eye on them.

Would give zero star if possible. Terrible customer service and even worse accounting department. The Termite policy is a sham, you will just pay a yearly fee for nothing, they will not protect anything but the money that you pay them. Under their policy you will have no rights at all. Stay away!!!!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! They are irresponsible and unresponsive to repeated calls over several months concerning considerable and unsightly damage done to my entryway and pool tiles by the drilling and improperly resealing by their technicians. Local company officials inspected the large areas of ruined tiles and agreed their technician was responsible, but are ignoring our calls and continue to bill me for the service I did not request which not only damaged my home but has significantly lowered my property value. I have held up payment until the damage is repaired or compensation is received so that I may hire a repair company of my own. Nevertheless they are threatening to turn my small $228 account over to a collection agency. These are not the actions of a responsible company.

Not negotiable and they care only about your money. By error, because I always pay my bills, they called and emailed me to renew my policy and I did - though it was an error since it was a property that was sold. They then contacted me by phone and emails. I explained my mistake that I did not want to renew and they said I authorized it and I had to pay the full amount for the entire year. I asked to speak with the manager and then he said he would review the situation with his other manager, whom I never heard back live. It was an honest mistake and I was simply asking for a fair fee for a service that I did not need (and they likely never completed) and did not need to pay for the entire 12 mos.

The tech (David) was prompt and performed the necessary work to our satisfaction as well as answering our many questions patiently.

They have been great with our yard. I am allergic to mosquitos and Florida Pest Control has greatly reduced the number of them around our home. We use them for exterior and interior pest control to keep our home pest free!

First off, FPC hasn’t always been bad. I used to recommend them to my friends. The guys are experienced and great with explaining everything and I’ve had stelllar experiences and that’s how it’s always been for me previous years. Idk what’s going on with FPC recently but there’s been consensus complaint about the new staff. Im not sure if they have entirely new staff or if they have some change in their company or supplier something, but I definitely got a different vibe the last time I spoke with their field technicians.I have Termite policy and frequent as needed pest treatment every other year or so. Every time I get my lawn and home treated for ants or roach, it’s always lasted close to whole year before I have to retreat. This year I think there are some new people working or some policy or chemical change or SOMETHING because both my lawn and home pest treatments did literally nothing. Ants and roach still roaming around 2 weeks after they treated my property and my house is clean, built in 2008. They might as well have sprayed water around my house and lawn. Im a busy student so I keep putting off calling them about it. I kept thinking maybe it take some time for the roach and ants to die off and even if I call later, they’d resolve the issue for me since the treatment didn’t work to begin with and it’s not that it worked then wore off. Well my mistake for waiting three months before I’m fed up with the roaches and ants and called them to see if they could rectify the issue. I was told that the home treatment can be done Bc I paid for whatever retreatment already. But if they retreat the LAWN, I’d have to pay for it because it’s been three months and I didn’t tell them sooner. While I understand that I waited too long, and that I’m no expert in pest control, but from a quality perspective, the treatment should’ve worked from the start. And for customer service in general, if you say you can get rid of ants in the yard and you charge me money to do it, shouldn’t it at least work for a few months or even weeks before the effect wearing off? Here the treatment did not work from the start, and you want me to pay again for the same treatment that didn’t work last time? Is there no quality control at FPC? I didn’t want to argue with them because from their view point, after three months, the treatment could’ve worn off and I could be lying about it to get a free treatment. But from what I see, it’s just bad quality work from them.

This used to be a good, customer services based company. Now, its just a bunch of inexperienced nitwits that just tell you what you want to hear and makes excuses for why they cant resolve pest problems. If you want real service and results, call small company where the owner is the one doing the services. They care more than a low paid serviceman from any of the larger companies. Ive looked in to it and there are several independent companies in the area. Countryside Pest Control, Stewart Pest Control, DW Pest Control, Cope Pest Control, ADK Pest Control, Santa Fe Pest Control, etc.

Called for tree pests. It was raining caterpillars! They were quick and efficient at solving our problem.

We have been dealing with FPC for many years and have always had good experiences. Today, however, we called to schedule a pre-paid treatment and the woman we dealt with in the Gainesville office was sloppy, incompetent, and on the verge of being rude. First she could not find the correct account (we have several) as she did not thoroughly check various possible ways the address could be listed, and second she misspelled my last name despite that I spelled it for her. We were on the phone with her for ten minutes before she finally managed to correct her multiple mistakes. All this occurred at 2 PM on March 4th, 2015.

Called them to arrange flea spraying on hardwood floors. Frits, the sales manager, told me that the people in the attached studio would not be bothered at all by the spraying. He further stated that they do not even recommend that CHA be turned off when the house is being sprayed.When the technician arrived, he said that the place had to be bombed and told the residents in the studio that they had to leave RIGHT AWAY. Could not wait for the 30 minutes the tenants, unprepared, asked for, to get their animals ready to vacate. They needed to stay away for 1-3 hours.They clearly do not know their business. Frits said spraying would be done on hardwood floors and not aerosol.After research, decided food-grade diatomaceous earth spread around inside and in the yard would solve the problem with $100 more in my pocket, and no poisons in the environment that are dangerous to people and pets. Wards sells it, and it can be put in the yard, too. It will need to be repeated in 10 days, and Im willing to do that. FPC was going to charge me for an extra visit as well.Certainly was blessed by how this all turned out....Thank you.
