Ive been going to nail salons since I was a little girl and this is by far the best experience Ive ever had. Professional, clean, they did a fabulous job, and super relaxing. I loved that I wasnt rushed and even though they were absolutely packed they took their time and focused on the experience. Will definitely be back. Thank you so Tina and Kim!!

Overall super happy with my manicure, see pic below (ignore my baby toe, no nail polish because I keep it too short, personal choice).Pros: very thorough, nails look great, lovely people, great foot/calf massages, overheard a very happy customer saying that she had been coming get her nails/toes done since 2014.Cons: Wish there was a way to 0.5 stars because that place really needs to be better ventilated. The smell of chemicals slaps you in the face when you walk in. The pros outweigh the cons for me so Ill be back. :)

This was my first time visiting California Nails, and I will never go anywhere else! Everyone was so kind, and they did a fantastic job on my nails.

I seen the prior review and it disgust me that anyone would say anything bad about this place! I’ve been coming since I was 15 years old, and I will not go anywhere else! During Covid, they have followed every safety protocol and are very clean. This place is like home away from home, and treat you like family! They remember you no matter if you are a first time visitor returning or a regular! I recommend this place to any and everyone who wants to feel welcomed and at home!

I can’t really speak to the services offered here because I did not actually have anything done. My review is more about the experience and environment.I was looking at places to get a pedicure and I found this salon which had very good reviews. I called ahead and asked if they took walk-ins or if I needed an appointment. I was told to come at four since they were a little bit busy that afternoon (I called about 2 pm). I arrived on time and when I stepped in, several things hit me at once. The first was the smell. I know this is a nail salon but the heavy scent of chemicals was overpowering and made it a little bit difficult to breathe.I put my mask on before I came in because I know having a pedicure or manicure is very close quarters, but I noticed that they were not required inside despite being a very cramped spot. Customers were seated side-by-side not even more than one or 2 feet apart with hanging sheets of plastic between to help separate them.The salon was packed with customers and the workers all seemed very frazzled and rushed. It took a few minutes to be greeted and I could see they were very busy; I was asked if I could wait another 40 minutes to be seen. I told them that unfortunately I could not.Overall I didn’t really feel comfortable coming back and I went elsewhere. They may be the nicest people and offer great services, but unfortunately the ambience is definitely not something that I would consider relaxing or an experience I would look forward to or recommend.

I recommend this nail salon in Gainesville! I had been using Solara Sol across the street but after trying to reschedule an appt & the owner extremely rude I decided to try this salon. I didn’t have an appt & they took me right away for a nail color change! They fixed my nails to where they were even and filed them down so they weren’t as thick. I am very pleased with my nails & the great customer service I received! I will be back!!

They are very nice. The only thing I will say is every time I go here they end up burning me/my nails, no matter how long it’s been since I had them done.

I have been coming here for several years with my mom and sister to get our pedicures! They are hands down the best by far! They make sure to get everything out of your big toes (extra skin you never thought of and ingrown nails) may hurt some but feels better afterwards! Double message! I have tried many other places and never compare to them! I will never go to anyone else for my pedicures! I drive 30 minutes to come here! Trust me!

This nail salon tried to keep clients healthy and safe. Temperature checks upon service with each area being disinfectant between client use. My nail tech was very sweet and asked me constantly if I liked my nails. The service was GREAT for its price. I would get my nails done here again!

This is the best place for mani and pedi Ive ever been to. The massages are incredible!

I have now been here twice. They are extremely prompt on getting you service. As you are choosing your colors they get started. I must mention the hand and foot massage... they dont just do it for a couple of minutes and move on they make sure you are fully relaxed. I have been searching for a good salon for a long while. Not only did I find a good one I found a great one.

This is the absolute BEST nail salon/spa I’ve ever been to! I’ve been getting my nails and pedicures for many years and this salon wins by far hands down!! It’s decorated so nicely, it’s very clean! The staff is super nice! Sandy and Tiana are great! I’m definitely satisfied with them and will go back in the future!

Never again. Poor quality SNS. Went for fix when nail chipped, and the clear coat came off later that day. Dont waste your money. Pay a little more and go to Solara Sol across the street. Update: After the first chip six days after the SNS, and the fix where the clear coat lifted off, now its four days later AND MY NAIL IS CHIPPED AGAIN. Never in my 3+ years of getting this kind of manicure have I had any chips in the polish. Waste. Of. Money. And. Time.

Hands down...no pun intended...the absolute BEST nail place I have been to!!! Cindy did my nails - a full set of acrylics - and I was utterly impressed by the time and detail she took. I never felt rushed, and after being so accustomed to watching closely that the nails are actually shaped evenly and filed thin enough to look realistic...how refreshing it was to just be able to relax feeling confident in her work. Not once was I ever burned by the file either. Oh, and to top it off, the full set of acrylics with regular polish was only $25. In and out in about an hour. Fantastic friendly service!

This was the first time in nearly six years Ive gotten my nails professionally done. I was nervous about finding a new salon, to say the least. Thankfully the reviews on California Nails were correct! This salon far exceeded my expectations. The wonderful ladies here spent time and put actual effort into making my nails look amazing. As someone who is a full time service industry worked and full time student I cant exactly waste money on nails that dont last or look appealing. This picture was taken three days after my visit, and Im still getting compliments on my nails. Im happy to say I will certainly be returning the next time I treat myself to a day in the salon.

Very, very friendly staff. Will definitely go back again. The lady accidentally made me bleed a little (did NOT hurt) and she continuously apologized and cleaned my finger. I didnt even feel it; I am rough on my hands and couldve bled because my skin was just dry. She was very gentle. And the woman who did my toes was amazing at massaging. They both did a wonderful job.

Best Nail Salon!! They are friendly, professional, and have so many people working that you never have to wait super long for someone! Johnny is really good at doing acrylics and gel nails , and they all constantly make you feel welcomed by trying have a convo with you and their place is very well sanitized!

Kelly has been doing my nails for a few years now and she’s my absolute favorite. She takes her time and is very detailed oriented in everything she does. My full set ends up lasting longer than the 2 weeks because she does such a great job. The staff is so friendly as well.

The chemical smell was bad, staff was frenetic but did a decent job with pedicure. They really need to renovate. Too many people crammed into small place, even with 😷 on. Sorry not for me.

California nails is obviously way more experienced and precise and cheaper. It’s more quiet and relaxing; the artists aren’t all talking to one another like other places I’ve experienced. I had never had a pedicure until today and it was a great experience. My feet feel like so relieved and I think it helped with the lingering foot tendonitis Ive had. The lady that gave me the pedicure is very good. Its recommended.

Always get me in when I need to have a fill-in on my nails. Knowledgeable service and follows the cdc guidelines.

I visited California Nails after reading through some of the reviews and I must say, I am SO glad that I did! The staff were very nice and the facilities were very clean. I had the pleasure of meeting Gnoc and spending my time with her. She is incredible. She took her time and was very detailed with my nails, not to mention was engaging with me. She was fabulous. I really enjoyed my experience and will be back to see her and her team! Highly recommend Gnoc and her team!

My girlfriend and I went in to get her nails done. Before any work was started she showed them the designs and nail she wanted. They assured her THREE times before starting that they could do the nails and design. When the lady for designs came to finish up she informed us they could not do the design and offered these “childish” looking designs. To me that is very unprofessional to say you can complete and task then still charge the customer after not completing the job 100%. I would not recommend this place and will not return.

Seen the reviews and thought I’d check it out. Got some acrylics done and brought my own design I wanted painted on them for the holidays. Every nail Salon I’ve ever went too had absolutely no issue with this. But not California Nails. I got the acrylics applied which ended up being bubbled up at the cuticles and jagged acrylic everywhere! Did not shape them correctly nor did they clean up after filing the acrylic. Finally got over to the design table by the register and a woman scoffed at my design. She complained the whole time about how “designs usually only take 30 minutes but because I had to be unique we were going to sit here for 45 or more minutes.” To be fair it was a Halloween patchwork design so obviously it was going to take longer. But what am I paying for if not your time and talent?????? It took a little over an hour because she kept stopping and talking to people who were at the register. Literally turning her chair around and talking to them. We were there 20 minutes after closing because she just would not focus on my nails. She put me under the fans for 2 minutes and then made me and my boyfriend leave because they were closed. When I said “But my nails aren’t dry?” She said “Just be careful. You have to leave now.” And kicked us out of the store. For the amount of money I paid, plus paying extra for bringing an original design, I think I should have been ATLEAST allowed to dry my nails completely. Ended up messing up one of them when I got into the car but didn’t want to deal with the headache of interacting with those people again. I am not confrontational and have bad anxiety about going to places where I have to be for a long time, but tried to get out of my comfort zone. This was in the beginning of October and I’ve yet to go back to a nail salon. The nails were adorable once she finally finished them which is the only reason they’re getting 2 stars from me.

Not really sure why this place has the rating it does. Went in to get my nails done and got a full set. It looks completely horrible and he barely looked at the design I wanted. He just went and did his own thing. The shape is horrendous. I guess the people who go there just get pedicures from the reviews I’m reading? I’m very disappointed. I have to go 40 minutes away to get my nails fixed to my old nail lady to fix this mess.

Jenny gave me my Pedi and I honestly say it was the very Best pedi I have ever gotten. The chairs are massaging heating and Wonderful. They put a plastic cover in the foot thing, so very safe from any fungus and things like that. This is officially my Mani Pedi Place. 100 %

As soon as you step foot into the nail salon it smelled like cigarettes (and we should’ve walked out!) my mom and i let it go and figured it was a customer who smoked and came inside. we sat down and told them we wanted gel polish manicures and they showed us the colors they had. the ladies didn’t even cut the cuticles around our nails, didn’t file our nails, and didn’t even massage our hands. my mom told the lady she wanted clear nails for work but the lady insisted for her get color and my mom settled for french tips. first of all GIVE THE CUSTOMER WHAT THEY WANT! second of all all she did to “clean off the tools” was wipe it on her shirt and stick it in the drawer! we were DISGUSTED! this place is an embarrassment. we still paid $35, $25 and $4 in tip even though we did not receive manicures and were very unsatisfied. i wouldn’t even send my worst enemy to this place! anyone who recommends this place is allying and wants you to have horrid nails

My daughter went in for a full set yesterday. She felt rushed through the whole process. Her nails look horrible. They look crooked and appear as if they weren’t filed or painted correctly. Overall they just look terrible. Will not go back to this place. She went in today to another salon inside of lakeshore mall and they look great. My daughter is not a complainer as I advised her to go back and have them make it right. Bottom line she won’t be back....

So amazing. This is the most sanitary nail salon Ive ever been to. They sanitized EVERYTHING. Not only that, the nails were amazing. He did everything I wanted and didnt try to sell me unnecessary things. The prices are amazing too. Only $25 for a full set of acrylics. I also didnt feel like they were talking about me behind my back like many nail salons do. This will now be my go-to nail salon. Thanks for the amazing experience. (:

I dont go anywhere else and tell everyone this is the only place to go. The staff is friendly and helpful. They paint my 4 yr old granddaughters nails and make her feel special. The prices are MORE than reasonable and the quality is top notch.

Wonderful place I go every other weekend to get my nails done. Great pricing and quality, however I had to bring my 3 yr old today and so I was wanting to get her nails done for a treat. Instead of taking their time, I felt very rushed to get her out when they finished with my nails. I know she will mess them up but wanted her and I to enjoy the experience.

I’ve been to so many nail salons in Gainesville and have not been able to find one that truly satisfies me. I came to California nails where johnny did my nails and I will definitely make this my go to nail spot! I got a full set of acrylics for $26 and it was quick.

From the moment we walked in everyone was very nice. I didnt schedule an appointment and we didnt have to wait long and both of the women were great! We even received massages which were worth the cost in itself and the price was more than reasonable.

I was on the fence about this place because they reviews were so missed from amazing to horrible. I wanted to share my experience to help any others on the fence.Linda ROCKS! Best foot massage I have had ever! Linda did an outstanding job. She did the pedicure and another tech came over to do the gel painting. The tech wanted to use the drill for a gel pedicure. I wasnt familiar with this and try not to use the drill unless necessary. I asked her to pass on that and she did very kindly and filed.The owner, Johnny was there and very active working and doing, very involved.Why not 5 stars? When I walked in, I asked for French SNS nails and gel pedicure. They said they could. Only to have them tell me 45 mins into my pedicure that they couldnt do the two color dip (pink and white) for SNS. I have to go to another salon to get my nails done.Again, it is very tempting to go back for a pedicure bc Lindas massage was fantastic!!

I do not recommend this place. I went bc my sister went once and said it was good. I got a pedicure n a set of acrylic nails. They hurt my toes n cut my finger around my nails. The acrylic nails they did were so ugly. First n last time I go there.

The place was packed when I came in but the reviews I read were so good I decided to wait. Instead of having to sit in the chairs next to the door they say me in the massaging chair. The woman was so nice and polite that gave me my mani-pedi, I wish I would have gotten her name. Very nice and professional. I will come back and recommend to my friends.

I love this place.....my brother-n-law treats me to a pedicure every time he visits.....they are very thorough and oh so polite!
