The interactions with the store is great. The service is something else. Brings me back to dial-up in 90s. I do speed tests and Im paying way more than Im getting it is not an equal exchange. Internet will be out for 30-60 min at a time multiple times daily. I work from home and this is forcing me back into the office. This post took me 10 min to even post start to finish. For the search algorithms: Unacceptable, deplorable, horrible, slow, data capping, unfair, no internet, takes forever, stay away.

As a content creator that works for YouTube and Twitch who came from Verizon Fios, which has no data cap. Cox is horrible I go through their data cap in 8 days. Then cant work for the rest of the month. Cant wait for this lease to be up so I can move somewhere that has Verizon again. If I could give it 0 stars I would

Kudos to Veronica!!! Girl is always on top of her game there! Customer service is outstanding! I know shes been there a while because Ive had the pleasure of working with her a few years ago! Shes quick and even though I discontinued the cable portion of my Cox service she lliterally gave me some options to consider coming back... Shes a gem and the store was clean and safe... Thank you!

I have had the same service issue for over a month the first time I contacted the company they resolved one cable box issue and was supposed to assist with the other but the representative never responded again. Yesterday I spent over 4 hours chatting with 3 different representatives and the last two disconnected me. They kept resetting my box instead of listening to what I advised the last person set me up for an appointment without letting me know and when I addressed it they cancelled it without saying anything and never scheduled me for the correct time. I had to ask and beg the person to please just tell me a time I can get an appointment and they continue to disregard my request to the point I had to ask for a supervisor and they the disconnected me. The only thing worst they their service is their customer service. I have screenshot of their representatives completely disregarding my request and disconnecting me. I was not rude to them all I requested was assistance, I even offered to switch the cable box myself. I have screenshots of the absolute horrible way I was treated and I still did not get my issue resolved. Ive been dealing with their poor service for a while because I dread contacting their customer service. They never listen to what you are saying, always threatening you with service fees for assistance but always make sure to try to upsell you. Ive had appointments cancelled in the past without me requesting it so I wasted two days of leaving work earlier. I had techocans say they will come back and never do. Ive had cable for years in multiple states and cox is the absolute worst and if there was another provider in my area I would use them even if it was 100 dollars more. Spending more money would be worth not having to be mistreated by a company you are paying for service too.

This particular Cox store is tucked away in an out of the way shopping center with tons of traffic. The staff was friendly and helpful, but still wasn’t able to fix my issues. Cox Communications leaves MUCH to be desired!

If only I could rate this a zero. I returned the equipment before the cutoff date, and he asked for my phone number and verified my last name. He looked at the back of the box and did some typing on the computer. As with every transaction I do, I asked him for a receipt. Was told that “there wouldn’t be a receipt” (his words). Reluctant to accept that answer, he said that it’s “in the system” and that we are “good to go” (again, his exact words). A couple of years pass and I see a collections notice randomly pop up on my credit for the EQUIPMENT I ALREADY RETURNED. My wife and I tried to speak with them directly about this and they said that there’s nothing they could do, since it was already in collections. I mentioned that we had not received mail, email, or a phone call letting us know that the supposedly unreturned equipment would need to be returned, otherwise it would go to collections. Again, the equipment WAS returned well before the date the lady on the phone from the Cox call center specified. I’m still fighting this because I’m not paying for a mistake made on their end. If you’ve had a similar experience as me, I highly encourage you to write to the BBB, FCC, and the attorney state general. If there are a significant number of Cox customers who have experienced this, litigations may be brought against the company for consumer fraud. If it was merely a singular event—which I highly doubt it was (Google it and see for yourself)—then, at best, it’s a mistake made on their end that they’re trying to make me pay for YEARS later. Absolutely disgusting business practices with rude employees. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY!

OMG! Such nice people in this store, seriously! I’m so sad to have to be loosing Cox Service. We moved and Cox is not offered at our new address. :(. I literally only spent about 7 minutes in this store, they are so efficient! I payed my final bill and turned in my old equipment. It was so easy and painless. That is how Cox in general is though! That is why I love them so much and I’m so sad to leave them. We have Verizon now..... so we will see if they can stand as tall as Cox in my eyes.

Customer service at this store was great. I had gotten the wrong equipment shipped to my house and just needed to trade it for the right equipment. Derek opened the door for me before I even got to the door, was very friendly and personable. He exchanged the equipment fast and I was on my way!

I got cable and internet at Cox because we had no choice they were apparently the only provider in our area. We.really wanted to keep our Xfinity. I paid $100 for great internet and cable. I pay $170 a month with cox and the internet hasn’t worked at all. The products are good. I even upgraded the WiFi (for of course more money) and it’s still terrible. Get anything but Cox if you have the option.

Recently I stopped my service because the moving. I’ve contacted cox more than 5 times to talk about my refund, but they still haven’t applied my refund check back yet. Every time they told me a wrong number of my refund before I correct it, then no any updating after the conversations. Yesterday I asked them why they keep my refund so long and give me the wrong number of my refund. The staff told me cox don’t care about customers and reputation. I’m disappointed with cox service. It looks like they delay the customer refund service intentionally. I used Comcast, Spectrum before, neither of them had the problem like this. I can’t stand more with the Cox’s bad attitude. They can’t hold my refund and ignore older customers like this.

I recently submitted a Move Request for my internet service, and was having trouble with receiving an internet connection. Over the course of a week, I’ve encountered engaging with over several representatives in order to have the issue resolve, with no avail. The cox store location referenced herein is the only one I could visit in the area, since other locations are further away. There was so much running around in order to determine what the cause was for receiving no internet service at my new place. Upon first visitation, no one could seem to help me, or know what to do, only that quick connect devices aren’t offered at that location. My second visitation was exceptional because Melissa (store manager), was such a great help with not only looking into the issue with device connection, but she reached heights by sending a tech out to determine the cause. The tech was also well respectful, and courteous. Thanks a million for people like her, and the tech servicing this area!

This place is horrible. I moved from one side of the road to the other and my rate went from $105 to $150 (all the same services). I got a different explanation every single time I called as to why this is. Interesting that when I said I wanted to cancel the cable portion of my service, they were able to drop my rate to $106; however the very next month it was right back to $150. Once again, three different reasons as to why and nobody seemed to know what the heck they were talking about. I despise this company. Freaking rip off and the service absolutely sucks.

I attempted to give Cox a change despite their horrible reputation. The online order process was a terrible experience. I had to “call” to confirm my order. I was told my credit check went through and I didn’t need a deposit. Then I received an email stating I need a deposit. Then I called in and I didn’t need a deposit, I needed to answer questions or come into a store somewhere to show two forms of identification because my credit supposedly had a “lock” on it. I am buying $40/mo or internet. Why do I need to go through all of this trouble to get it? Verizon didn’t have any issues pulling my credit. Not only that, but when I called in the lady was pretty rude and left me in silence for several minutes at a time. No updates. Just left me wondering if we were even on the phone still. Claimed it was because her computer was slow, but I could hear her typing the whole conversation. Idk. I’ll probably never use Cox.

I set up an account based on a price advertised online, but when the first bill came due, it was for an amount $10 higher than advertised. I went to the store for clarification, and the saleswoman put a $10 credit on my account, as well as submitting a request that Cox honor the price advertised.When the next months bill arrived, it was also $10 too high. I returned to the Cox store, where the salesman claimed that his store could not give me the advertised price, because his store does not have the right code to enter. If I called customer care, he assured me, they would enter the right discount fix and the problem would be solved. To the phone I went!The phone representative at the billing department explained that the Cox store representative had entered the wrong code, and made me thing that was the problem. She said she couldnt change the code at the billing department, but would patch me through to the loyalty department, where the problem would be solved.The phone representative at the loyalty department told me I am being charged the correct price, and that last months request (submitted by the Cox store representative) that Cox honor the advertised price had been denied. Cox claims that the price I saw advertised for the 30 Mbps download speed package is actually just for the 15 Mbps download speed package. LIES.So, the Cox criminals did a bait and switch. When I tell them I want the bait (not the switch), they give me the run-around, and the result is that theres nothing I can do. Cox is the only Internet provider available, and without competition, they can screw the customer, and the customer has nowhere to run. MONOPOLIES ARE EVIL.

Horrible is the best description from the main office in Atlanta to the store in Fredericksburg, Virginia. They tell you the bill will be one amount, then raise it up, always with some manufactured reasoning. I do not trust Cox anymore and I would not recommend them to anyone.

I became a customer through this store in February. I met with William Keitt as the agent. We agreed upon a package and a price. First bill arrived and all other bills since and my account is overcharged based upon the package rate he sold me for 2 years. When I went into the store he was unwilling to fix his mistake and the store manager was unwilling to fix. My account has still not been fixed. Do not sign up for service with William Keitt.

You really have to be careful of what contracts you sign. They will tell you something different than what you have, and when youre locked in theres not much you or they can do. I am currently paying 3x the rate I was initially told I was. I should have known $50 a month for internet was too good. Ive had to change my package a few times to avoid these random rate increases. I was even convinced to add on cable which I dont use because its cheaper together.(Honestly the rate probably never increased. They just didnt tell me the correct rate to begin with and I wasnt paying attention to my bill like I should have.) Im also under a 2 year contract when I was told it was 1 year. I was also told that if I move I can break the contract without penalty, but apparently thats only if you move somewhere where Cox isnt serviced. At least I learned something from the experience. All the cable companies are crooks, but Cox is probably the worst Ive dealt with. Either they are incompetent or liars. Go elsewhere if you can.

I am not sure how they legally get away with it but be forewarned...their 24 month price protection plan is really a 12 month price protection plan. Our bill went up $30+ after 12 months. Customer service said that is because the price protection plan is tiered and after the first 12 months, the price goes up and after the next 12 months, it will go up again. When our 24 month contract is done...we will be DONE with Cox forever. This is our first (and last) contract with Cox. To mislead customers with a 24 month price protection plan that is really a 12 month price protection plan, despicable! We feel we were lied to and now have no trust in this company what so ever.

The Rep was very nice in the store. Not happy with service though. My internet never work in the evenings. Its the worst net I have ever had. Per the tech, it was wired wrong in my bldg. It took him 4.5 hours to setup up & I have less channel lineup that i had with Verizon Fios before moving here, but the cost is the same. They raise my fees twice in 2019🤬. Glad i am moving back up top end of month 👏

Horrible experience, buyer beware. They installed Contour and Cable Modem that was 4 years old even after I requested new hardware for my new installation (check the dates). Sales guy said they only install new gear. Newly refurbished is what he meant. Not sure, but I am guessing they buy old gear from xfinity, which doesnt service my area since Verizon and Cox has it locked down (xfinity has an office right down the street). My bill has been jacked up for weeks. I am still having issues trying to get this resolved. Customer service is nonexistent, 40+ minutes on the phone trying to get issues resolved with folks who have an attitude.

Cox sucks! They treat you nice when youre starting to get their services, then once you have it, they treat you like garbage. My girlfriend was cancelling her services and had to go into the store 4-5 times before they actually cancelled her services. They said at one point she would be receiving a check in the mail and when that didnt come, she went into the store and they told her that she actually owed more money. I eventually told her to just throw the bills they sent away and eventually they stopped. The same guy works there all the time and Im pretty sure he couldnt remember what he had for breakfast let alone keep track of someones services. Criminals.

It is always a challenge with Cox to get any assistance from them on their service, their prices are getting more and more irregular. I have a simple internet plan, which is supposed to be 100Mbps for approximately $100 per month, I just checked with the credit card company and they are billing at $166. Unbelievable! Be forewarned, the only thing worse is Verizon, who constantly overcharges and changes their terms constantly.

Because of my location i have to use Cox communications in Fredericksburg Va and it is not only the worse service but the slowest Wi-Fi!! No matter what i do or disconnect or start over got a new box still no difference. Things got hectic last month and i was 50 bucks behind so it rolled over to my new bill which obviously was the plan well i get threaten to have everything cut off if i dont pay the WHOLE amount (not just my negative 50) but the whole bill before it is due to avoid disconnection. My bill is due the 23rd it is the 14th and i have been getting calls for a few days now. Finally answered and gave them my card number so they could have it because obviously i have to have it paid but i dont feel this is necessarily fair demand my 50 but how can you cut it off if i dont pay something that isnt due yet?? I have had Cox a few years and this is just one of the many complaints i have. Positive note though the staff they have at plank road are some of the nicest people i have ever met!!

I was a bit skeptical about switching because weve had fios for the last 4 years but im glad I did because the Cox Contour t.v experience is awsome! I know Fios has faster internet but I havent really been able to notice any real significant differences in speed in my day to day usage. Im glad i switched!

Returned equipment, ask a simple yes or no question and the associate tells me to look at the receipt. Is it too hard to just answer yes or no. Where do they find and hire these rude employees. There was 3 associate in the store , I was the only customer. All of them had a stupid smiles on their faces and laughing while I exit the store. God I hate the store wish Cox would just go out of business in Fredericksburg.

I only bought internet from Cox because they are the only ones who service my apartment complex.I pay for their cheapest internet plan UP TO 150 Mbps! Up to 150, for $100/month! Awesome, right? No, the speed via ethernet never goes over 25, no matter when I test, no matter how little bandwidth Im using. They lie to you and scam you.

I went in to remove cable from my package so that I can just get internet. I was told my next bill would be $50 and then after that it would be $75 a month for the highest speed internet. A few weeks later, I came into the store to return my equipment and was told that my internet was $115 per month. An increase of $40! The associate said the the service was never any other rate. He then tried to sell me on a new package that included cable and phone - two services that I dont use and dont need that would have been another $20.... $60 more than the rate I was initially told when adjusting my packageo. Im currently trying to find alternatives to cox for my internet service. Its unbelievable what kind of lies they tell to get you to pay for services that no one uses anymore.

OKay year after year,, had to deal with cables, wires, evrywhere and so bunched up.. awlful.. ok then the ..programs are not your fault, so I find a link to them and they have no way to let that go any higher..lol..so I deal with program s NOT changing .. re run after re run,, and the same show 1 hour rior, not even a 24 hrs. let alone a 3 days or a month ....an so witht hat.it stinks..
