We worked with Cherie at Baldwin Bros. and she was sympathetic, responsive, and very professional in a caring way. Our mother passed away in FL while on her vacation, so the family was working with Baldwin Brothers from out of town via phone and emails. Cherie kept us informed at every step process. I first met Andrew Weaver when he held a program at Seven Lakes where I live. He was personable and friendly, but I thought the low prices he was quoting were just a come on. After checking prices at another local business [that I used 10 years before when my mother died], I was a believer. I made an appointment to meet with him so I could pre-pay for my own cremation. It was during the Covid year of 2020 and Andrew was wearing a mask (as was I) so I was very comfortable in his office.. He explained everything to my satisfaction, and I paid in full that day. Since then Ive talked about him to my neighbors, and even posted information on our bulletin board. Two people are very interested, but not at this time. Baldwin Brothers lacks empathy and professionalism in peoples time of need and grieving.After my father passed away I have hospice their information as Baldwin Brothers took care of my mothers arrangements 5 years prior. I was pleased that they were so quick to contact me and set up an appointment to meetThat very same day to go over plans. The individual who helped me was very kind and gave me tons of information and paperwork and helped me to understand everything while going through the process of losing someone close to you. I was very pleased with this meeting. Unfortunately this was where the compassion and help ended. I dont understand what happened other than that maybe they recieved my business and money so their job was clearly done. Or maybe they were dissapointed I wasnt doing an elaborate funeral service with them and I only wanted the very basic of cremation services and this wasnt enough of a payment to keep my happy and cared for. I dont want to disclose individual names here however the woman in the meeting made a note to keep in touch with me about when ashes would be ready and how I lived out of state so having an open line of communication via email would be tremendously helpful as I planned funeral services and things.Sadly Ive had to initiate all communication. I has to ask if and when the ashes would be ready. We set up a time to pick them up. I didnt hear anything the day I was to pick up but I guess no news was good news. I went to the office and it appeared no one was there. I knocked and waited and nobody answered. My heart absolutely sank and I became very upset. I emailed the woman about where she was as we had a meeting time and I recieved no response. I called the main office and they told me the woman was *out* and that there should be someone at the office and to keep knocking. This was so incredibly unprofessional given the line of work. Im not picking up my take out order Im picking up the remains of my father and the person who told me to meet her there was completely MIA and the door was locked.A person did eventually come to the door ironically. I dont know why they didnt come the first several knocks. She was clearly upset I was at the door as if I disturbed something important. I explained the situation but she really didnt seem bothered how I had an appt with someone whom didnt think it important to show up. She was more concerned with me not having a mask on which I took off in the car while trying to call the main office and maintain some kind of composure over hysterical crying. I went back to the car and got a mask and she then asked for my identification!! So back to the car I went for everything I initially had with me the first time I go to the door when she failed to let me in. I grew angry and sad and hopeless. I recieved the remains and couldnt get out fast enough.Later that week I once again had to email the initial person I spoke to at the first meeting asking about the eta of the Death certificate. I have since sent THREE emails to her asking for an update as to why they were taking so long and if its been mailed to me as I could not wait in Florida any longer expecting a response from this company. I still have not received a response or the certificates.In hindsight I wish I took my business elsewhere. Its made a nightmare even worse for myself and my family. The lack of compassion is appalling given that they are working with people going through sometimes the worst moment in their lives.

I was down in North Fort Myers over the past 6-8 months while my mother was being treated for various illnesses. Unfortunately my mother passed away this past February 2018. We were given two names of establishments that offered cremation services. I remember calling Affordable Cremations at 5am expecting to leave a voicemail with my questions. However, I was shocked at being patched thru to a person named Jeff Wilson. Even though it was very early in the morning, Jeff was very polite and understanding! Jeff helped my father, brother and I coordinate funeral arrangements and a service that was held on-site. Jeff seemed to be a very calming presence during this very difficult time. I was notified by the police that my father had passed away. Because I lived out of town and had no idea what funeral home to use, the police recommended Gallaher American Family Funeral Home. The detective told me, it is who they refer families to. It took 2 days to me to finally speak with someone at Gallaher (phone rang and rang, not even going to voicemail). I was getting to the point of panic. After speaking with them, it gave me even more concern. I decided I would not leave my father in their care. I went on Affordable Cremations website and chatted with the representative. Within 30 minutes, Jeff Wilson, the General Manager called me. It was almost 10:00 pm. He was compassionate and walked me through the process. He made arrangements to pick up my father from Gallaher. Because I lived out of town, I arranged to meet with Jeff the following week. Even though, nothing was needed, Jeff reached out to me on several occassions to see how I was holding up. Just to check on me! When we met in person, there was no sales pitch. He was very straight forward on cost. No hidden fees and no pressure to upsell! He was as honest, caring, professional and compassionate as he had been through the whole process. The staff running this specfic funeral home were extremely rude and unproffesional. They tried holding my fathers ashes after the cremation had been paid for. They tried to scam my family, who was sending money for donations. In a time of loss, when stress is already high, id reccomend finding another Funeral home with honesty and compassion. As horizon was a terrible experience.

I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. They dont do payment plan and wanted $10.000 up front. I found the Funeral Director to be rude and unprofessional.

I call them just to find a cheaper price , they are unprofecional and rude .
