What a gem! Guys are easy to work with, gave me an honest evaluation of the issues - what was necessary now, good to do sometime, and not necessary. What a change from the dealership! Had my immediate issues taken care of that day and had them go ahead and order the part for the rest of the work.

Its a little hard to find. Its in the alley and its small. Its like a speak easy. But instead of a gruff doorman, boozy cocktails and leaving drunk you get great service, oil stains on the floor and you leave with a smooth running auto. In this case it was my 🛵.

Ive been taking my cars to Our Planet for years, they always provide excellent service at a great price.

I really like their staff. We live nearby and they will occasionally send someone over to our house when we pick up yet another nail in a tire, to re-inflate it so that we can get it to their shop and fixed. I wouldnt imply thats a regular feature, but is certainly an example of how they accommodate their customers. Theyve been great about patching tires for a reasonable price and quickly. Still not sure why we keep getting so many flat tires, though...Also was impressed when I brought my car in after a heat shield fell off on the expressway. The mechanic took a look at it, noticed that another heat shield was missing, then asked me if I had it serviced at a particular nearby oil change shop. When I replied yes, he suggested they likely forgot about it, because thats a thing they do. A couple days later, I called up the oil change, and found out that indeed, they had it. Our Planet called that one, perfectly. Would not recommend that particular oil change shop.But this is a great group.

Made one phone call spoke to Tyler, and he took care of me as soon as I got there. The work was done same day . Clean honest work means good business to me. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS SHOP. Most of all my wife is super happy with the results. Great work great price. I wont go anywhere else anymore. Mr. Torres was awesome as well. Give them a call check them out dont hesitate. I HIGHLY recommend Our Planet Automotive! Tyler, Mike and the entire staff are all on-board to help in any way possible. I went in for an oil change and was given an update on other issues looming that I should start planning for. On my second oil change I was alerted that my car was not holding up in either my tires or oil pan leak and both were at a very serious state. They immediately gave me rates on both and sincerely went the extra mile to make this affordable and easy for me. I was back in in 2 days, spent the day at the shop and made their lobby my mobile office. All day I witnessed they knew everyone who came by by name, hand shaking with everyone and even the postman had a quick chat. They cooked lunch and I joined them. My car is safe and Ill be back to keep my car maintained. I am also taking their business cards to my work and let my co-workers know that they are in the area and I highly recommend they come check them out. I have a friend who wants to work with eco-friendly businesses, and have already connected them. Just a great all-around business who wants to have a relationship with each client. This was by far the BEST car repair experience I have ever had. I needed a sensor malfunction diagnosed and fixed. I received a quick estimate and timeline. The estimate price was very reasonable and I made an appointment for the repair. The repair was completed in a timely manner, just as they said it would be. The waiting area is clean and nice with coffee and mints.Everyone I interacted with at Our Planet Automotive was SO SO nice and professional. I hope that I dont have another car repair again...But if I do, Ill 100% return to Our Planet Automotive. This is how car repair should operate.

This place is amazing. Super high quality work for reasonable prices. Twice they have figured out how to fix problems on my trucks that other shops couldnt solve. I go to them for my maintenance and they look it over and are able to tell me what repairs I will need in the future and repair minor stuff before it causes expensive problems. And they are green without charging a premium.

Best shop ever! I needed my suspension replaced in a hurry while passing through town. I came in on a Thursday and needed my car back on Monday morning. Tyler and his team set up a car rental for me and got the job done, set it out for an alignment and had it ready for me on Monday morning when I had to drive back. Thanks for your help! If I could leave no stars, I would. This was absolutely the worst experience I have ever had with a shop in my life. I bought a 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander from my brother who lives in Oak Park. He had the car checked by this shop since it was so highly rated and close to him, to make sure he was selling me a car with no issues. They shop looked at it, made some repairs, and said the car was a go to sell. They wanted me to bring it back in two weeks later to make sure one of their repairs was holding up. When I took it back in, I had a small list of problems that had not been taken care of before (back license plate light out, asked them to change the front license plate because the bolts were stripped, and it was having issues accelerating-rpms were going up, but the car wasn’t going anywhere). I get a call back, and my whole transmission needs to be replaced! How did they not catch that before? They told me this can just happen and probably happened while I was driving it, but I had experienced this issue ever since I bought the car. They told my brother and I they could find us a used transmission for a reasonable price with warranty, because the car wasn’t worth putting in a brand new transmission. Long story short, after 2 bad transmissions, and waiting almost 3 MONTHS they couldn’t fix it, because the only working transmission they could find was brand new. We would never have told them to take the transmission out had we not been promised a used transmission for much cheaper. Had the car towed down the street and it was fixed within two weeks. And found out, that even though the shop had my car for MONTHS, they hadn’t replaced the front license plate or the back license plate light. This place is a joke, communication was impossible, and I feel ripped off. Even though it may have high ratings, do your research before taking your business here.

They quoted over 2k for repairs that I largely did not need. I took my car to TWO other repair shops to get quotes and they could not see anything wrong with some of the repairs that Our Planet Auto wanted to perform. This makes me not trust their services and I will not be back.

Ive taken my toyota in to Our Planet Automotive a few times over the past 6 months for oil changes / tire rotations and for 50k miles maintenance. The service has been prompt each time and during the longer service they offered me travel to and from home. Each time Ive spoken to Michael who has been very friendly and helpful. During my 50k maintenance he recommended a valvoline treatment, which I was a little skeptical of at first because it seemed like it could be an up sell. However, he explained that it would not only improve my engine performance and save me fuel and maintenance costs down the road, but it would also reduce pollutants in my exhaust. Im very happy with this treatment, as my prius has achieved a noticeably higher mpg since (almost 5 mpg higher over 7k miles). Im happy to take my car to Our Planet Automotive and support their local business and environmentally responsible servicing.

I have finally found an honest neighborhood mechanic.

Me and my girlfriend took her jeep here for a transmission issue because they had high customer satisfaction rates and was told that it will cost over 1000 bucks for a hose, some gaskets, and fluid which was over 300 by itself, they charged over 600 just for labor. We were told it was a 5 hour job. It lasted 5 days, no, forreal, a week for a 5 hour job that they told us several times thats how long it takes. We called every day and they were always out to lunch or the guys were on break or something. Finally on the 5th day of no one calling us back and if we did talk to someone it was always the parts guy didnt bring the part or he forgot a part, so we went in to the place with a not so great mood. We talked to the owner and of course he was sorry and after waiting for over an hour we finally got her truck back and even tho they got rid of the problem mostly, it still jerks at pull offs from stops. These guys seem nice but I would recommend looking around first before you settle on this place.

Turns out Mike was the 2nd in command and Tyler is the Owner.The place has Excellent customer service... but I would get what whoever tells you in writing as the situation can easily turn out like my scooter repair.Long story short, I was told that Id be hooked up with my scooter tow, later to be informed that wasnt an option and I was footed with the $170 tow fee AFTER they towed it to the shop. Even after giving my box of scooter stuff and Tyler saying hell give me a diagnostic, I found out he went on vacation and I had to wait a week and a half to have Johnny my NEW local scooter mechanic pick it up and fix it up ($240, including tow, rear tire&tube replacement with front brake fix and drop off)Heres what I learned.Pay the premium to have a professional fix it ASAP. The value of having my #ScooterAdventures restored is PRICELESS===Previously:Mike is the Grooviest Gemini Mechanic Manager in the Oak Park Region that Ive encountered so far.Heres the Story:I investigated several sources to get a quote on my transmission for my Purposeful Camper Truck Intention and a majority of them requested a hefty fee for the initial diagnostic, several even concluded that the transmission basically just needs to be overhauled ($2k+ pricetag that was way beyond the trucks lifeline)After explaining my situation to Mike he said hell work with me on the diagnostic price of $120. After the initial checkup which took less than an hr he explained that the issue may be with the solenoids in the trans (non of the other mechanics in the area put this much effort into the diagnostic) AND Fully Waived the initial Fee for me resulting in a $120 Prosperity Experience.The Environment was Inviting and Informative. Mike is Incredibly Knowledgeable about Sustainable Practices. Never again. $75 to mount two tires on a 17 inch wheel. Thats $43 over what Pep Boys charges. Was shocked when they told me the price. Too bad because this is the third time Ive used them, def my last.Ps, I generally dont write reviews, thats how much of shock Im in.
