I filed my 2020 income taxes with LaRoy tax service and they made a mistake that I caught that almost cost me $1,000 on my tax return. When I caught this and pointed it out I was told Its only $1,000, with no apology. I was also told that they would be paying my state taxes. That this was a reason why my overall return would be less. I just received a letter with a penalty and daily interest from the state claiming my state income taxes were never paid. I called the state to verify. I called LaRoy where I was told multiple times by Tracy that I was a liar on both counts and that they never process payments for anyone. That I was responsible for this payment that they already told me was paid. That her employees would never say any of that or treat me rudely. That she didnt in her heart believe it. No apology, just Im sorry for your misunderstanding. When I pointed out the poor customer service and asked if she was the owner of the company since I needed to file a formal complaint she said Im done, and hung up on me. So now I have to pay state taxes without having the money set aside to do so thinking that this was already handled. I will never file taxes through LaRoy again and advise against anyone else going there. Only giving one star because I cant post with zero.

Theyre affordable and they do their job very well I dont really feel like I need to say more when it comes to taxes.

I’ve been having my taxes done here for years. Their process is seamless, the rate is fair, and turnaround is timely. Larry is amazing at answering questions and figuring out different things to help you. Highly recommend as the best tax service I’ve received in Evansville.

My wife and I recently moved from Kansas and were in need of an income tax professional to aid us in preparing our tax returns. We googled several Evansville tax services and after viewing a number of them finally found Laroy Tax Service. The receptionist who assisted us was extremely helpful, honest, and friendly...that is alway a positive start. We asked her who was available and she listed some names. One in particular, Larry Laroy, had just a few spots remaining. We booked Larry and are we blessed to have found him. We have had several exceptional folks in the past who were tops in tax prep, but Larry is THE BEST! Charming personality, intuitive, knowledgeable of the very difficult tax plans and current changes in out tax structure, Larry was exemplary. We will definitely choose Larry Laroy next year because of his excellence and congeniality. Let me say that you can’t go wrong with this tax service. I started out using those “free” online self-filing services, but quickly learned how much money I was missing out on by not going to Larry. He is super helpful and informative in finding deductions I would otherwise overlook. I love having the relief of knowing my taxes were filed correctly and I got the most out of my return!

Been using these folks for years and have noticed in the past couple years that it has gone down hill.They will absolutely Not return calls only the receptionist will.They have had my business account taxes now for 12 1/2 months and cannot get them to finish them.Very poor business practices.

Ive never written a bad review on a business but this one cost me alot of money and time so here goes...I used Laroy Tax Services for 2016 and was pleased with one of his partner CPAs. However, Larry did my taxes for 2017 and WOW what a nightmare! I never spoke directly to him. All communication was mediated through his secretary, though very sweet, could never answer any question and had to get back to me after asking Larry. Also, I dropped my info off before the end of March and I had to reach out to the office numerous times after the April 15th deadline to find out what is going on. I realize that is a very busy time so I was patient despite the 0 returned emails and seldom returned calls . However, I was finally informed that an extension was filed until October. I was also informed that I had to provide all of my tax deductible information all over again and being self-employed there was an abundance of such paperwork to gather up and forward...AGAIN!This being my first year ever filing an extension I was unaware of my obligations and just patiently waited until October to hear from Larry (his secretary). Of course, when October came, I had to call in the middle of the month to find out why I hadnt heard anything. Long story short...My taxes werent filed until December so I am paying $1700 in fees that could have been avoided. I was somewhat pleased with what I owe to the IRS so the $175 for his services was not so hard to swallow until the IRS sent me a letter making me aware of these fees.The bottom line is that communication and professionalism was seriously lacking in my experience at Laroy.

LaRoy himself did my deacesed mother’s taxes. Went to pick them up, paid for them plus the back taxes she owed. I’ve called several times to discuss these tax returns! No return call, no return email. Today I called to make an appt to discuss these taxes that he did back in early May of this year. I’m told in order to speak to Laroy about these taxes that I already paid for, would cost me 350.00 an hour! I’ve used him for years and I’m in shock of the way he’s treated me this year! Never again will I use LaRoy tax service!
