Better than Mercedes-Benz dealershipsI had this very difficult exhaust fumes and vapors in the cabin problem with my 2017 Mercedes GLS. Three different MB dealerships and even MBUSA could not properly diagnose the problem nor provide a resolution. It got so bad that I started getting the hebee jebees and my health started to decline.Erica and Tony at Escondido German Auto rose to the rescue. Erica carefully listened to my concerns and experiences with this issue. Tony listened as well. They both showed they cared by listening and spending the time to diagnose the problem properly. They worked together and were able to piece together the solutions to the puzzle. It ended up being a more complicated issue - more than one problem and more than one resolution. I happen to be concerned about a concerning noise coming from my engine compartment when started cold. So I took my 2013 Mercedes Benz ML350 in to the Escondido German Auto shop. This was around early August 2020. And was very concerning that this will cost me a fortune. As it were, the Escondido German Auto shop took time to find the cause of the noise and determined it was not from the engine and fixed it. Then went further to perform a 100% vehicle inspection per California State law for free just to help locate any descripancy that may become a concern in the near future. The services that I received was way more than I was charged. These guys demonstrated integrity and are honest in their duties, no gimmicks. They are professionals...you can trust them with your European car... Thank you guys for your hard work and support to the Escondido community. I had a check engine light come on. I contacted the Mercedes Benz dealership service department. They said it would be 3 weeks before they could look at it. I went to Escondido German Auto and one of the several mechanics, Tony, stopped what he was working on to try and determine why the check engine light came on. Then the owner, Derek McCubbin came over and determined the cause of the check engine light. He had the part needed to correct the issue ordered. Told me to come back the next day. The next day, about 3 hours after I dropped the car off, it was repaired. The customer service and quality of workmanship I received should be the standard dealerships and other auto repair shops should strive to emulate. Our car was towed to shop because we broke down nearby. Austin was booked for over a week but was able to have a tech look at & fix our car in 2 days. They even washed it before we picked it up. Definitely will go back for service.

Honest Auto shop. They kept me informed throughout the whole process and got my baby back on the road in no time

They sent me a survey with a link to another review site, and nearly 2 weeks later my review is still pending verification from the shop. 🙄It took 2 hours to do an oil change and tire rotation, and I still had to come back because they forgot to recalibrate my tire pressure monitors. The shop smelled like the sandwiches that the staff were eating at their desks. They need a break room for their employees, and a more efficient process in the garage.

Ive have taken my 2001 540i BMW there for other repairs and have been a loyal customer. I havent had any previous issues with repairs. Last week I wanted my passenger window regulator repaired and spoke with Austin. they replaced it for a cost of around 877.00 I also asked if they could replace the seal around the front and rear window seal. I received a quote of 645.00. and felt that was a bit too much. When I asked why so high a price was told the entire window has to be removed due to the vehicles year model.. I decided to take it to a window repair place and the cost was 320.00 they also told me that the window did not need to be removed that it simply needed the new seal fitted into the windows groove. German auto repair, if you dont do that type of work dont offer it. You should have just decline and directed me to the best place to have it done, not try and scam a good paying ( 877.00 for window regulator and two clips) customer by offering to replace window seal for twice the price!! If you had no idea of what it would take to repair dont make up a line about that window needing to be removed. Once I had decided to take it elsewhere, I then was told well we dont do that here, we have an off site company that comes and does it and we pass on their cost along with ours..... wow! Rather have been told that from the beginning than to be given a price quote for twice the price for this type of work. Hey its only Christmas time, guess you all need my extra $$.

I’m involved in the auto industry and have multiple customers who trust their German vehicles with Escondido German Auto. I’ve had them service my customers cars over the years and have always trusted their opinions and quality of work they do on all German makes and models. Trusting a German vehicle with cheaper mechanics to save a few bucks will cost you more money down the line so it’s wise to leave it in these guys hands who low your car inside and out. Can’t say enough positive things about them and know that they’re the best German mechanics in the County.

New to the area, so looking for a trusted / Best in Breed Porsche mechanic. I found them with Escondido German Auto. Brought my 2018 Porsche Macan S for its annual maintenance. Not only were they 60% ($900 vs $400) lower than the Porsche dealership, but they provided Dealership quality level service. They provided me with a loaner car, washed my car, and not just a simple rinse but they wiped down the exterior to a beautiful shine. I also noticed that the acceleration performance had a little more zip, than what I experienced last time I brought the car for my last annual service with the Porsche dealership in the SF Bay Area. Highly Recommend this shop, very happy with the level of service and attention to my cars needs !!!

I was expecting an expensive repair, certainly used to that from the Mini dealer. I was very pleasantly surprised when the staff did not jump to any conclusions and was not eager to perform services that I didnt need, despite my worries that I may need them. They were extremely courteous, upfront, and the whole process was transparent and reassuring. My car was serviced very quickly and returned later that day, which is another shock, considering this was an unannounced drop-in in the morning. Prices are quite reasonable - I work on my own cars so Im quite familiar with parts and typical service prices. EGA charge very reasonable prices, far below the Mini dealer. After the minor service they performed, they gave me a courtesy inspection that was informative and helpful and even washed my car. Something I did not expect for a small $136 service. Lastly, judging from the range of late-model German cars they regularly work on, it is obvious they have all the necessary equipment and expertise to perform work comparable to a dealer. Will definitely continue to work with them, really glad I found this place. Refreshingly different. Places like this are rare and highly valued by consumers like me. The focus is on repeat clientele, so they take good care of their customers.

Worst shop ever. Drive my car for 160miles with loose steer rack that they can’t solve for real! One of those worker flip off at me on the street for revenge. Impressed.

I have worked with Derek at a high end dealer in the San Diego for years, and I can assure you you will get the best quality service you can find. Dusty, Derek, Rob, and others of the EGA team are also very good and car enthusiasts that spend many of their weekends building, and at that track, with their race car. The report that I received for my 90,000 mile checkup was quite thorough. It included photos, videos, and data to explain what the condition of every aspect of the car was. There was no pressure to complete repair items that are needed but not dire.I also received a Courtesy Shuttle ride home. All employees were courteous, helpful, and willing to listen and respond.The ease of making appointments and receiving information by email is quite convenient.

I have dealt with EGA before. I like Alex and Derek. Kyle, their newest service advisor is not it. His understanding of a vehicle is less than mine, yet he wants to educate me. The experience of dealing with Kyle is...Yesterday morning, my son called and asked for the status of the car, the owner, Derek told him it should be done later on in the day. When my husband called at 3:45pm yesterday to ask for the status of the car, Kyle told him realistically Thursday. Fast forward to 5pm, same day, Kyle called me and informed me the car is ready. I think communication training is in line with what they tell the customer.UPDATEWhen I was paying for the bill, Kyle informed me that there will be a percent charged extra as their processing fee for using credit card. He also informed me the credit card will donate these fees to charity. I ended up not using credit card but found out later in the state of California, it is illegal to charge a percentage extra for credit card processing fee.

I found the staff to be very helpful in assisting me with my vehicle’s service. They provide regular follow ups to confirm bookings and it was very easy to reschedule when I needed to.A detailed report was sent to me after the diagnostics were done on the vehicle. While all here have been beyond professional, Derek in particular has helped more than duty requires. They have explained things simply to the novice, and they have always ensured that my best interests are met. Cannot speak highly enough about this shop. I trust them implicitly.

Spent a few years looking for a competent shop. The biggest reason was excessive play in the steering wheel. EGA fixed the steering wheel the other shop said couldnt be fixed. Since then, I have been going to EGA for regular service and maintenance for more than three years. The work is always done correctly, regardless of how big the job. I am a real pain in the butt to satisfy and all I can say is EGAs service is AWESOME.

Very friendly staff, rental vehicles are a plus. Explanation and breakdown of services make understanding exactly what the issues are a breeze.

The have very prompt service and expert knowledge in repairing any problems we are having and we are quickly back on the road. We have brought our car here for several years and we are very happy to have found this repair shop for our 2002 Mercedes. We trust their judgment completely and will go to NO one else.

Quality of work is top notch here and they take their time to troubleshoot all the issues in detail and provide the appropriate recommendations and educate the owner (Derek and Alex are great). I am new to the area and read the Yelp reviews to determine where to take my Mercedes for repair. My brake lights about worn pads came up on the dash computer. Escondido German advised me over the phone and I had an appointment in two days. The shop is clean and very up-to-date in their technology and communication. I am very satisfied with the results, my car is fixed, they washed it and it was clean upon pick up. I will be back as well as all the cars in our household.

First VisitI cannot express how great of an experience I had here. Brought my M3 to them as it’s out of warranty now. Lol. Anyways, from the initial call to them to me driving away the next day was top notch.Kristin, and her superior customer service, walked me from beginning to end and was very upfront and courteous!The text updates were awesome, including estimates!The pick up was exceptional! Car was washed thoroughly and the EGA Digital inspection report was informational. Kristin was not pushy (like you get from dealerships) and simply stated that we are keeping an eye on these cautionary things that don’t necessarily need to be serviced now. It’s like a red/yellow/green light report. I’ve never received one from a BMW dealership, and we’ve owned multiple BMW’s over the last two decades. Very very useful indeed.If you set up an appointment much in advance, you may be able to secure a loaner. Yup, they have a few loaners.Derek, the owner, was kind enough to meet me upon my exit and hear my feedback.Will be bringing in my wife’s X5 in next.Side note, called 3 other shops in Escondido and they were the least expensive for my type of service. Definitely got my money’s worth.Friendly staff with great knowledge!

I have taken my 98 Mercedes ML320 in a few times over the years. They have done great work and always get the issue fixed in a timely manner. They are not the cheapest but there is a lot of value in their work. They take the time to do full inspection and send you pictures of everything they look at and inspect, color coding all areas inspected (green, yellow, and red) indicating a good, moderate, to severe condition. They give you a full detailed report of your vehicles overall heath. I definitely recommend EGA to anyone who wants a job done right.

We found EGA in 2015 when we moved with our Audi 4 2006 from Canada to Southern California. Derek helped us with tremendous efforts to get the necessary paperwork from Audi to get our car registered - he did not promise anything, but he made it happen - wow ( we had tried before privately for weeks to no avail). The regular services EGA provides are obviously fully to the manufacturer standards, but significantly lower priced than we would get them from the dealerships. EGA understands that we want to use this car as long as it makes it because this is the best use of resources and money. Special mention the front desk lady, Alex: She has the things and the folks there under control and knows how to organize things, ask the right questions, always friendly and patient, but also clear. Good thing also: Very good additional service, options to get a loaner, or bringing you somewhere. Very nice, reliable, reasonable people - last not least a great Oktoberfest every year with Derek in Bavarian leather pants.

They did a lot of different needed services to my car that were overdue and fixed a long standing oil leak that for years was miss-diagnosed by other repair shops. This is my go to place for stress free BMW repairs.

Ive brought my BMW to Escondido German auto for the past 5 years. I wouldnt trust anyone else working on my car but them. Theyre all friendly and happy to be there. They have a nice waiting area but I have never had to stay due to the awesome complimentary shuttle they provide. They also have rental vehicles that Ive used as well for longer maintenance. One thing that I love is that they do complimentary vehicle inspections every visit and have detailed photos and comments that they email you. Derek and the team are awesome and I would recommend them to anyone.

5 Stars...Nice place...took pictures of my car and showed health though the pictures, didnt quite diagnose the problem with my car...took me home and picked me up through their courtesy shuttle. ( My BMW needed a new battery because the one in it was was the wrong group size & had 60% health ) BMWs btw eat voltage and require nothing less so I found out. Plus they are a pricey when it comes to part cost. Quoted 635.00 in ignition coils (8 of them) Got brand new Boschs for 180.00. price for installation was 235.00 which honestly not bad ( especially if you ever tried to work on a V8 BMW )

I took my car here because it wasnt going to pass smog and a friend of a friend mentioned this place and I found out they also had good YELP reviews as well. I knew going in I had to replace my vacuum pump at some point but didnt know what the real problems was. Right of the bat, their prices were more competitive than any of the other shops in the area specializing on German cars. I drop the car off before noon and picked it up around 4:30; not only they didnt charged me for the diagnostic but they told me the faultiness they discovered was under manufacture warranty and to take my car to the dealer and washed my car. I am definitely going back when ready to replace my vacuum pump since is not urgent yet but will continue taking my car there for any future services I may need. Honest shops are hard to find, they could of told me anything and charge me for something but instead, they were honest, professionals and courteous and to me that priceless!!!

Our 2001 Porsche 911 has been babied since we got it in 2001. We wouldnt take it anywhere that didnt treat it as we would. Escondido German Automotive is the perfect place for all of this Porsches servicing and maintenance. We are so happy with Derek and his staff of mechanics. Excellent shop ... professional, knowledgeable and factory trained individuals on Porsche, Mercedes, BMW and Volkswagen. Even have the factory authorized diagnostic equipment that typically only the factory dealers have on-site so the most challenging issues can be diagnosed, reprogrammed and/or updated. Very fair and reasonable estimates. Could not be more pleased for my Cayenne, X3 and Mercedes.

Ive been taking my car here since I bought it almost 3 years ago and I can honestly say these guys are the greatest! Always fast and reliable service, reasonable price (much cheaper than the stealer), and the quality of work they do is amazing. I have never had anything go wrong with something they have worked on, nor do I think anything ever will based on how meticulous they are making sure everything is done the right way. Just as an added bonus in my opinion, they also give your car a complementary wash so it looks as clean as it drives when you pick it up!

My 2004 3 series with over 200,000 miles is still going. I know when I pick my car up, everything has been checked and it is good to go.

Escondido German Auto is honest, dependable and they know what they are doing when it comes to auto repair! I have been taking my Mini Cooper there for awhile and have been pleased each time with the service and professionalism. Thanks for the jobs well done!

Fantastic service! We were on a driving trip passing through San Diego when my check-engine light came on. Derek was able to fit me in on short notice, check on the issue, and get us on the road again in just an hour or two. He was incredibly nice and helpful, and the waiting area was very nice and comfortable. Good coffee, good wifi, comfy places to sit. And a shuttle to take you where you need to go in the meantime! I dont live in Escondido, but I have only good things to say about this place. If I ever have the opportunity to do business with them in the future, I certainly will.

This shop does a great job, are straightforward and easy to work with. Ask for Alex she is the best! Will help you out and make it as easy as possible!

I could not give this shop and the people that work there higher praise and kudos! This was my first visit after having used another shop for many years. The attitude of all who helped me including being given a free loaner car just blew me away. I would absolutely use this shop again and would recommend them to anyone without hesitation. Escondido German Auto repair is probably one of the fairest auto repair shops I have ever been to. They actually care about you and your car. Just had my 90k service done and all the brakes replaced. Excellent service as always. They even managed to save me some money from the original quote.

I like how they send pictures of problems with the car to detail what needs to be done. They are also very good about explaining issues with the car to me. Always honest and nice!

Im not gonna lie. I am incredibly fussy and so is my car. There is absolutely NO WHERE else I would ever take her!! Their customer service is just unbelievably phenomenal and so is their work. They DEFINITELY go above and beyond. German car repair is always pricey but theyre very reasonable. You absolutely get more than you pay for. I cant say enough positive things about them!

I was very satisfied with the service and solution to my problems. I pleased with the further analysis of my VW Eurovan Camper, identifying current needs and potential future issues with a full printout. Ill soon be returning to have several of those issues resolved. Kyle and Alex were always helpful, friendly and prompt. Im looking forward to taking a well tuned camper on the road soon!

Very friendly staff, submitted a request for appt during after hours for the next day and the team was able to get me in and take care of my Audi. Kept me in the loop during the whole process (I was out of town on business) and responded quickly to my queries. The new home for my S4 when I encounter issues that exceed my YouTube auto certification.
