I have 2 kids, ages 5 and 7, enrolled. My kids dont just learn martial arts here, though. They learn to be better listeners, teamwork, self discipline, and over all how to be a better person. The teachers are great. They do not leave any kid behind and will pause to help a student out that may be having a hard time. They also praise the kids constantly when they are giving good effort and learning new moves. I am so happy I chose this school. It feels more like a family that just a martial arts studio.

The owners are awesome and have great communication with both the parents & kids. They encourage the kids daily to put in the work to learn the skills. They also talk with them about the importance of responsibility in life skills pertaining to their training: responsibility for taking care of their uniforms, importance of having good hygiene (especially when sparring closely with partners), etc. I call these extra pearls the dad talks. My child is younger and sometimes needs a little extra help from age or just being new. The instructors touch in with him & the other younger/new students regularly during the class or have an older child guide them. I love that the older children are utilized as teachers aids. Giving older children responsibility like that I think helps everyone & gives other students something to look forward to when they can start helping others. 😀

My 9 year old loves this school! Hes really shy and he has really come out of his shell. Hes more disciplined and a much better listener. One of the best decisions weve ever made.

This is an incredible place of teaching and talent! The owners are one of a kind! They dont just instruct the children in their technique and abilities on the mat, but they instruct their lives. They train them up to be respectful and worthy of honor. They teach them to be genuine in their care for others and how to protect themselves and those in need of protection. I am touched by their efforts to include the family as a whole and how it enriches the community through these bonds. I look forward to many years with WOTWMA! and so does my daughter! My 3 year old son started way of the warrior a few months back and initially he was so scared to even walk out onto the mat. The coach/junior coaches were great in providing encouragement, positive praise and patience while also setting limits! My son will now join his class and usually without issue. I love to watch his growth, self confidence and seeing him proud of himself. This place is very family oriented and seems to really care for their students (warriors!). Highly recommended!!

We have been so impressed with the owners, teachers, and other students. Our daughter loves attending the classes. She has learned self-discipline, confidence, and important self-defense and life skills. It’s a great environment!

What a great place I found, family oriented, they are very good with kids, my son love it here and so do I, they teach discipline, listening, focusing, great techniques and self defense. My son has been a part of Way of the Warrior for several months now, and he absolutely loves it!! He feels comfortable there, he has so much fun, and has learned so much! He feels like a part of the family when hes there and looks forward to it each time. My family has been a part of Way of the Warrior for 7 years. The instructors are great, the classes are great, everything about this place is great. It is a true family atmosphere. No wonder it has been voted best Martial arts school in Elk Grove multiple times. From the first class you or your child takes(yes they even have adult classes) you wont regret it. For kids not only do they teach the martial arts class but they also incorporate life safety and lessons. We have been part of the Way of the Warrior Martial Arts program and family for almost 2 years now and it has been the best experience for our son! We started it as something to do during the summer but fell in love with the program and the instructors and are in it for the long haul! Our son looks forward to class every single week and loves his instructors! The staff are just awesome with kids of all ages! They truly care about teaching the values of healthy body & mind, self defense, and positive self esteem. This is the kind of place we were looking for for our son (13 years old). The kind of training you get with these guys/gals is very hard to find anymore. This is the only place that has been able to get our son to crawl out of his shell. Theyre a very professional, no nonsense kind of place. They do very good with kids of all ages. If youre looking for a place that hands out belts for putting in time & going through the motions then keep looking. Initially I enrolled my son in a trial program with a different organization. I was told about WOWTMA and went to check them out. I was excited to learn that this was an organization run by my childhood friend and his lovely wife. I signed my son up right away and Im so happy that I did. Definelty a difference compared to the other program! WOTWMA is everything I expected and more. The skills that my son is gaining will benefit him forever.Confidence,respect,accountability, commitment are just a few but theres so much more. I have been going to Way of the Warrior for a couple of months now and I can wholeheartedly say that it’s been a life changing experience. Great program if you’re looking for Martial Arts for your kiddos! Way of the Warrior has a very personal environment. There are no favorites or any of those little politics we tend to see at other children’s programs. ALL kids are included, and met where they are at.They cover not only self defense, but emotional well-being, as listed on their page. The kids have a lot of fun as they learn.My son loves and looks forward to going! He tells us he’s a Warrior Kid! He has a lot of respect for the owners/instructors (which is unusual for my son).Did I mention they have evening classes that cater to the work/school schedule? Check it out!I was referred to this program by someone else, and I knew we would be signing up, the moment we walked in.

The Vargas family, have treated our boys great since 2017. They are very family oriented and keep their academy tidy. They are well organized with the material/Techniques given to our children. My son has really taken to his classes and wanting to strive for more. As a teenager in a pandemic, his social interactions were minimal. This had now become a safe positive outlet for positive interactions with other teens and a respectable environment. He is always excited to tell me about the moves hes working on as well as where he is in training. He cant wait to level up.

We came to karate in search of an activity to help our son build esteem and confidence. I can honestly say that this is hands down the best thing I have ever invested in for my son. He is more confidentand his self esteem is getting better.The teachers are very fun, knowledgeable and always going above and beyond for the kids as well as the parents.I have found, is a never-ending pursuit that only becomes more intriguing as time moves forward. It is a way of self-defense, a way of maintaining physical fitness and flexibility, an activity that promotes friendship, a spiritual path, and most of all, simply a lot of fun. Hello my son has been going to Way of the Warrior Martial Arts for a little over a year all I can say is starting from Liborio and his wife Norma to all the whole staff that help out They are grade A. They have thought my son good Discipline , focus, and they have built his confidence up. I found way of the warrior on google in June and spoke with Shi Gung about enrolling my kids. I was looking for a place where they could continue to grow their learning skills, respect, and have fun during the quarantine. I am so happy I found this place!! Shi Gung Liborio and Mrs. Norma are awesome!! The kids have fun during class and at the same time they are taught respect and listening skills. I have two daughters that attend the Academy and they both love it. They not only learn how to physically protect themselves but they also learn about ‘stranger danger’, avoiding situations that can put them at risk, and critical choices that can be used in emergency situations. I have been coming to this school for over 8 years now. I have known Shigung Vargas for over 20 years. The training is top notch. Shigung Vargas cares about the quality of your training and does his homework diligently to ensure we get the best up to date information in the evolution of the fight. At Way of The Warrior you are able to select the type of training that best suits the results you are looking for from working out, sparring, bjj to my personal favorite Shou Shu. My children have been students and recently my son has earned his black belt. The discipline he has gained from coming here has shown through in many aspects of his life and the biggest hurtle he has overcome is confidence.
