4th of July Event at the 880 Cozy Cottage - Perfect! My husband and I attended the opening of the Star Barn 3 years ago - and I thought it would make a wonderful anniversary weekend for us in 2021! I was right. From the impressive train ride (reading and learning about the copy of President Lincolns Presidential car), to the amazing restoration projects throughout the property, to the ooh and ahhh inspiring fireworks display, and the morning after private walk around the property - Stone Gable Estate did not disappoint. We were lucky enough to be able to reserve The 880 Cozy Cottage. It was just wonderful! The owners obviously care about the details! It was delightful in every way - the side porch (where we watched the horses), the coffee mess (the best I have ever had), perfect treasures in the furnishings, and a very peaceful atmosphere. We spent the day after the event walking/wandering around the property. Highly recommend visiting and staying on property. We will be visiting again soon.

We did the horseback trail ride at Stone Gables and it was amazing. The horses are well kept and well behaved. You can tell their really loved and cared for. The entire estate is beautiful and the area is perfect for the horseback riding experience. The instructors and handlers are phenomenal. Very patient, knowledgeable and fun. I highly recommend the horseback riding at Stone Gables.

Took a trip on the Steam Train and loved every minute of it. I wish it was longer but I understand they have an expansion planned for later this year. One suggestion is to PLEASE improve the signage along the highway for finding Hollinger Lane---the small sign was impossible to find so we had to stop by the pet shop and ask for directions. Apparently we arent the only ones who needed to do this according to the people at the pet shop. Happens all the time. The fix is simple, bigger sign along the main street in a more prominent place. Same with parking for the train ride---NO SIGNS exist to direct people where to park for the train ride. Lots of confusion by people coming to ride the train. It seems like a simple fix---put SOMETHING near the train station directing visitors where to park. There was a guy there with a red flag but he was parked over the hill, across the tracks and NOT VISIBLE by people coming in searching where to park. He should have been at the top of the hill where people could see him, at a minimum. Bad experience at the start but once all that was past everything went smooth and was very enjoyable. I would come again.

My girlfriends and I went for a weekend getaway and we were so blown away by how beautiful this place was. From the location to how quaint and cozy everything felt. But by far the owners made this the most enjoyable. They were so hospitable and went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed right down to tiniest of details. Breakfast every morning was incredible! Will def be going back and HIGHLY recommend.

Had our wedding here last week. Everything was great except for their parking attendant team, which was very disappointing. First, we wanted our cocktail hour to be in a specific place (which we told the coordinator). It was in a spot where, when people parked, they would walk right past it. Well someone at SGE decided to park the guests in a different location, meaning guests would not walk by the cocktail hour in their trip to the reception area. This was communicated to my husband, but he told them you need to make sure if youre parking guests here that you are still directing them to cocktail hour. Which they never did, so basically none of the guests, save for maybe 15 out of 130, actually went to the cocktail hour. Also, one of the parking attendants was brand new and apparently didnt know where anything was so after my wedding, guests came up to me and told me that when asked where certain events or spots were all she told them was I dont know, just walk around and youll end up finding it. Pretty unprofessional in my opinion but didnt ruin the day. Just hope they get their parking team together a little better in the future. We were Pretty bummed that you only get 5 hours from the beginning of your ceremony, so we didnt feel that was enough time for the ceremony AND reception with photos in between, so we had to have our ceremony off site.Beautiful venues, we ended up getting to use the entire property for photos since there were no other events on the day of our wedding.

Recently changed their entrance so it now congests traffic on rt 230 when they’re busy. Luckily that’s not too often since this place is an obvious cash grab to most. Same entrance frequently has cops setting up speed traps because god forbid you go a little fast past their shortsighted new entrance.

I attended a wedding at this venue just yesterday. It was rainy, drizzly, and only about 48° outside. We were made to park a quarter of a mile away from the actual wedding site. We were told that those with handicaps would be shuttled up to the actual wedding site. The shuttle never came before the time of the wedding. Everyone had to walk up a steep hill for nearly the entire quarter mile to the outside venue. No one expected that there would not be an indoor contingency plan for inclement weather. So, when it was obvious we were to be sitting under a tent in the 48° weather, people scrambled to get whatever they could find to stay warm. People were digging blankets, tablecloths, old jackets and clothes out of the trunks of their car to stay warm. The bathroom facility was over 300 yards away from the actual site of the wedding and reception. At some point they did start shuttling people to the bathroom in the open, freezing cold, side by side ATVs they had. Nothing about this place is ADA compliant that I saw. It is the absolute worst wedding I have ever been to in My Life! I will never go to any other event being held at this place for as long as I live! The people we talk to were uncaring, unresponsive, untrained, and undeserving of another chance from me. At some point we realized that there was parking within a hundred yards of the wedding site. Many people including myself move their vehicles to that location. We are awfully glad that we did that in spite of the fact that the staff did not want us to. We ended up having to take many of the elderly guests and warm them up in the vehicles that were moved outside of the tent where the wedding and subsequent reception was held. I feel so badly for the bride and groom and their parents who worked so hard to try and make this a successful event. I was told by one of the event folks that they needed 24 hours notice to have put heating units in the tent. I guess none of them have televisions, smartphones, or radios because for nearly the past week the forecast for yesterday indicated that it was going to be very cold and rainy! Shame on the staff of the Stone Gables Estate. Shame on them!AFTER READING THEIR REPLY I FELT COMPELLED TO ADD THE FOLLOWING:I am not sure where the stone Gable Estates folks came up with 200 feet from the beautiful green Solarium to the original site of the wedding because the actual distance according to Google Earth is over 800! That is if you stay on the walking path.Likewise the distance from the Victorian gazebo to the bathroom was well over 560 feet. The distance from the parking lot where I was told and shuttle would pick up anyone who would have problems walking the distance do they built over 100 yards and up a fairly steep hill. No shuttle ever came to pick anyone up that I am aware of.In spite of the fact that I showed the parking attendant at the bottom of the hill over a quarter of a mile away from the Grand Tuscan tent (the parking guys words not mine) that I had a valid handicap placard, he never mentioned I could park any closer to the tent.As a matter of fact, when a family member walk down and got my truck to bring it up closer to the 10th he was told that he could not do so. Fortunately he was persistent and brought it up there anyway. Its a good thing that he did otherwise we most likely would have had to call an ambulance for my father and one of my aunts and uncles. They were shivering so badly they could barely walk. Luckily we got them to some vehicles to warm up.Perhaps you are ADA Compliant. However, the folks we experienced last weekend were too inept, uncaring, or untrained to make it so. If you dont believe that the Google Earth measurements are close, I would be more than happy to come and measure out those distances with and for you!I understand that you are just the venue but, you have a basic responsibility for the health and safety of your guests. There is no excuse for what I witnessed.

This was the third year we came to visit, it is so beautiful !! It displays many aspects of the Christmas season, lights stockings wreaths..But it emphasises the true and often less publiclyCelebrated reason, the Birth of Jesus. As you drive through there are signs that tell the story of why we celebrate with lights , stockings and treesAll how it originated, and also many beautiful painted pictures that have references to this Holy Season and to Jesus himself. The lights are incredible as well. We look forward to coming back next year.

We happened upon this online- looking for a nearby place to take a toddler who has been begging to ride a train. We were blown away by how nice it was. It’s only a short ride but the train is stunning and the staff is great. You get a little history lesson and a beautiful setting. Great way to spend an hour or 2.

The train was beautiful and the staff made the short trip enlightening. We’ll definitely be back to check out the planned growth and the Christmas holiday lights at the farm!

My boyfriend and I attended the Valentines Day dinner here and it was breath-taking. They provided a specialty drink as we walked in and enjoyed a private violin player until it was dinner time. A live band played for everyone to dance and the food was outstanding. They really wanted each guest to have a wonderful time and we really did!

While instructions are to share details of your own experience at this place, it appears that isnt happening lately. The goal appears to be to trash a beautiful, private venue, to persecute a Christian for his and his familys decision to follow the Bibles teaching. This is the USA, and the door swings both ways. It isnt only the LGBTQ community who have rights. We look forward to visiting this wonderful, new attraction in Lancaster County very soon.
