My car was making a strange noise and found out that I have an issue with oil consumption. My car was not due for an oil change for another 100 miles. They instructed me to check it every 500 miles and contact the car maker to determine if their is an issue with my make/model. They are SO helpful.

Joe and team are not trustworthy. I gave them 4 yrs of business and trusted his judgment but Joe always gave me a laundry list of items to fix. I have since left and found out the list was BS. Buyer beware. Do not trust Joe. Look at the other negative comments and take your business to Nesbitt or Bunges. Better experience and no BS. I would like to see them comment on some of these acquisitions. When they give u the main item to fix and 5 others do not believe them.

I was an out-of-state stranded motorist with a shift linkage cable that got disconnected at the transmission they didnt take advantage of me and they got me down going down the road in about a half an hour the rates reasonable

Ive taken all my cars to Darin, Joe and team at Casey Automotive for years to be serviced. Oil changes and routine maintenance to complex engine work, they do it all. The staff is skilled, friendly, and prompt while taking care of your car. Another plus - within close walking distance to several restaurants if you need to wait for your repair.

I have never been to a shop that has such honest and quick service. Joe and his crew had a diagnosis and fixed my car within 24 hours, no fuss! I highly recommend them to anyone!!!! Thank you!

To put it simply, these guys have always been able to help out in one way or another. To the best of the knowledge of anyone I know if that has gone there, they have always been completely honest with the customers, even when that might mean losing a bit of money. Theyve never been afraid to state what they can and cannot do well, and have always been able to recommend other excellent places to do work they cant do. On top of that, they always work quickly and have reasonable rates for every service theyve ever provided for me. These are the guys I will always go to first for any sort of automotive trouble.

Called 3 Caseys and this was the only one who said yes to come in and we can look at your car an hour before they close. Very nice guy (sorry I for got his name) I stopped going to Caseys after everytime they did something to upset me but after going to this location...I know I can count on someone. Thank you guys. Every one depends on their vehicles so it should be treated with respect as they are not cheap. I always say...it all depends on who you get and talk to.

I go to Casey Auto every time I need an oil change. Joe is very helpful and keeps me up to date on how long my car will take to get done. Any car that needs repair that is out of warranty I take over to them, they can be trusted with letting me know what has to be done now vs. what I can wait on. I always appreciate that. I highly recommend using them!

It was done on time and less cost

Weve been going here for car repairs and general automotive maintenance since we moved out here in 2003 and they are the best.Theyre knowledgeable, fast, honest and very reasonable on price. I got 270,000 miles out of my last vehicle with their help. Anyone looking for a great mechanic in the Elgin area these are your guys.

Over priced and they try to change parts that doesnt need to be replaced.

Stopped in on no notice, with thoughts that I was having serious break issues.While it wasnt a busy day, I was still accepted right away and my car was looked at, diagnosed, and I was called back to pick up my car, all in the time it took me to walk across the street to grab lunch at McDonalds.I think I was working with Joe, if I recall, and when I got back he quickly set my mind at ease that everything was working normally. He took the time to explain why my brakes were making the noise that concerned me, and briefly chatted about options should the sound not go away on its own.All-in-all Im very happy with this first-time encounter, and can say that I feel the other 5 star reviews are justified.I will absolutely be back when I ACTUALLY need work done.

The brake work was fine; however, two months later I attempted to rotate my tires and Casey’s had tightened the lug nuts so tight it was as if they fused the steel. The lug nuts in front that they didn’t touch were removed easily. I went to the shop and asked them to please loosen the lug nuts as I had no compressor and they had caused the problem. The manager told me to make an appointment in two weeks as they were booked and I would be charged. I have four cars and lots of work and I am not going back. Also, I am a physician and I would refer people to Caseys, not any more. Great customer service guys!

I highly recommend these guys. Ive been bringing them my vehicles for years and have never had a bad experience. Their work is top notch, and they always go outta their way to repair the issue at hand while also informing you of any others. Clean work, clean shop, personable guys and decent prices.... Ive never even considered going any place else. And they always get the job done quickly. My vehicles run and ride better each time they leave that garage. Real pros!

Darin, Joe, Kevin and the rest of the crew are true professionals... They do all my repairs and would not go anywhere else! Honesty, Knowledgeable, Efficient are some of the words I would use to describe Casey Automotive. Try them and i promise you will be a customer for life just like me. My Honda Pot now has 275,000 miles and still going strong thanks to the Casey automotive crew! They just did some work on my wife’s van this week and as always, superior customer experience. When is the last time you get an estimate from an auto repair shop and they actually charge you less? If you need service go check them out.

On our way home from vacation, our engine light had come on and our car showed serious signs of distress. It was late so we had to wait until morning to find an open shop. We contacted Casey Automotive because they had the best reviews in the area and they were able to get us in first thing in the morning. Within an hour, they were able to diagnose the problem, fix it and get us back on the road. So grateful for their help and appreciate their ability to get us in and out so quickly! I highly recommend them!

Cant speak about the service because we didnt get any. Guy at the front was not very welcoming and friendly. He didnt seem to want our business or have time for us, so we left.(In response to the owners response: This review wasnt really about the fact that you were busy, but the lack of basic customer service skills. We ended up going to another place that was really busy and they greeted us with a smile and took us in 20 mins before closing. A friendly interaction can make all the difference.)

I was in a time restraint and had SO much trouble finding a part for my car. The staff was wonderful and helped me locate and install the part required. Super helpful, very nice, excellent on time management.

I had my car towed here because it wouldnt start. I was told it was a starter problem and paid $400 (not including the tow) to have the starter replaced. I took the car home and had exactly the same problem the next morning. I called to report this and was given the line that, well, I was given the mechanics best guess and recommendation. They did eventually say they would pay to have the car towed back if necessary. However, obviously, I want better than a guess what the problem is and will be taking car elsewhere.

They was friendly fast and the beat shop to go to in elgin new prices.

I have brought my family cars to Casey’s and have had work done including tires, brakes, fuel pump, wheel bearings and even for vehicle inspections on used trucks as I searched for a 3rd family vehicle. By far the best shop Ive ever used. My Lexus has 173k miles on it. Needed new brakes, exhaust, alternator and A/C... finished in less then 6 hrs, picked me up at the train station (the owner Darin did it himself), and the price was beyond fair. Every guy in the shop looked like they were in a pit crew and you could eat office the floor. If you dont get an estimate there, you are running the risk of getting second rate work. These guys blew me away!!!

Caught one of the techs. 30 minutes after they had closed. He was attentive, handed him my key, and got a call the following morning. Although they couldnt fix my issue(Due to lack of specialty tools, understandable. If I even had an issue to begin with, Im a mechanocondriac when it comes to cars.) They were a pleasure to talk to and were understanding.I recommend them, thanks guys.

I highly recommend Casey’s Automotive Joe and Kevin were so great to work with and are truly a professional team to work with. I brought my car to them for a second opinion on a repair that my Jeep needed. They came back and said the repair the other shop was saying wasn’t necessary and explained what the issue was, and that it was still covered under my warranty. Joe even called the Chrysler dealership for me to get me in that same day! These guys are so fair and care about their customers to make sure I was taken care of. I will not take my cars anywhere else because I know I can trust these guys to make sure my car is taken care of.I wouldn’t highly recommend them and I promise you will be a customer for life just like me. Super shady establishment. Went to get a brake job thinking just front or back, was told I needed pads and rotors all the way around and it would be $750. Took it to farm and fleet and was told front pads and rotors were fine and had more than half the life left. I bought the parts myself and they installed the rear and did an alignment for $136

Got an oil change nothing too big but still had a good hassle free experience. Thanks for the service.

Great and honest service

Casey Automotive is one of the best places to take your vehicle. They are honest and actually act as if they were working on their own car. We had a major A/C issue on our van. They had to check it out a few times. The van had leaks in a few different places. It became very expensive and they did help us out as much as they could.

Took my car there after getting a quote from another local shop. Took it to Caseys and the bill was almost half. Great work and fast turnaround time with diagnosis and service.

Took my car to Firestone, they wanted $3100 and made it sound like my car would fall apart! Its a nice car and well taken care of! Took it to Caseys, it cost less then $800, it wouldnt cost $140, but I bought new tires too. The service was so good, that I took another vehicle in. Its an old truck we use in the summer. They told me straight up what was wrong with it, what needed to be fixed now and what could wait. So GREAT! I wont be going anywhere else.

Family run company, been going to them for many years

Trust, Trust, Trust. They will look at your problem and give you a honest diagnosis. I have used them on numerous occasions and I recommend them to anyone that asks. Had a problem with my Dodge van, they told me what they thought is was but they suggested I take it to the dodge dealer because ti was expensive and might have a recall. they did not charge me anything. After the dodge dealer mis-diagnosed it twice, it turned out to be what Caseys had suggested.

Always take my car here! Darin and the rest of the employees do a wonderful job. Will never bring my car somewhere else!

Based on a friends recommendation, I took my truck here for a second opinion. A dealer had recommended I get an oil leak fixed asap for $1300. Even though it was busy and I didnt have an appointment, Darren squeezed me in within the hour and inspected the leak. He told me that the slight leak (main rear seal) wasnt critical and recommended just keeping an eye on it, because the type of leak was just seepage without puddling and could sometimes go forever without being an issue (the dealer gave me a totally different impression!) His professionalism and honesty was truly refreshing. I drove 50 miles round trip to get his opinion, and will definitely go back to this trustworthy shop to have him check it out again and even for basic maintenance. Ill be recommending this Caseys to everyone.

We used to got to Caseys for multiple repair jobs because we trusted them. Havent been there in a couple years, but they were always very fair and honest. Took a family friends car to have the brakes looked at because it was due for new ones. They gave us an estimate for work that did NOT need to be done. $430 for new calipers (they said were frozen) and $170 to replace 3 dried up belts. Plus $40 new wiper blades, which are in good shape and overdue for an oil change ( which was just done 1500 miles prior). I questioned their quote, and took the car to a friend who is a mechanic. The calipers are good and the belts are in great condition. Sad to lose another auto repair shop due to dishonesty. Did they try to scam me out of $600 because we told them the car had been sitting for a few months? Could it have been because I went in there without my husband? Just cuz Im not male, doesnt mean I dont know anything about cars or how not to get ripped off. Caseys will never get my business again and none from my friends and family. Such a shame.

Joe the manager was great. He not only looked at the car for free he then showed me what was wrong and how it was going to be fixed. When there was a question about a repair at the time of the quote he lifted the car again to make sure that we both were talking about the same thing (He was right and it was fine.) I felt they were very honest about what needed to be fixed. The car has 140k on it and needed front end, struts and shocks. He found a problem with the exhaust I didnt know about and showed my why and what they could do to fix it. The quote was $1000 less than other shops. He had to order parts and when he asked for the deposit of $400 I offered to pay in full at that time and Joe said that we only take a deposit and payment in full when work is complete and you are happy with what was done. The quote was Tuesday, The parts came Weds and my car was 100% done by noon on thursday. And the best part.....Free T-Shirt.

I went in to get my brake pads replaced, they claimed I need a rather large problem fixed with calipers along with 3 new belts , I took it to a trusted mechanic for a second opinion and turns out I didnt need any of that stuff replaced as my calipers were fine and the belts in near perfect condition. Will not be coming back.

I came here one time, and it will be the last time I ever set foot there. I’m young, and ignorant about cars. Casey’s took advantage of that. They told me I had a broken brake caliber, so of course me having a young child, I thought of his safety and had them fix it. Apparently when a brake caliber breaks, the pads are gone, and car wouldn’t have had a brake on the one side. Well, they told me just the caliber was broken but everything else was fine. Took my car to Amigos across the street, and they told me I got scammed 😡 and that there are at least 3 other things that need to be fixed if there is a broken brake caliber. This place is a joke and I WILL NEVER set foot here even if I’m desperate ever again.

Wow. See my review below. I had not seen the answer before. They just outright lie too. The mechanic told me on the phone it WAS the starter, he could tell by the sound it was making, a sort of gravelly sound. I subsequently took my car to another mechanic who told me they did actual tests, and told me what tests, and that it was one of the most common problems with my vehicle, and that it was covered under an extended warranty, and I should take my car to Ford for that repair and coverage. I took my car to Ford and it was covered. So, thanks for your lies, and thanks for costing me $400 for a starter I didnt need. Wow.
