The last time I stopped in here I got great service, but today was another story. I wanted to buy my dads birthday gift from a local shop. I called ahead to see if they had a stylus for an iPad, and decided to go with the Apple Pencil. When my teen daughter and I walked in, there was one other customer and and man helping her at the counter, it looked like he was helping with computer repair or service. He made eye contact a couple of times, but didnt say anything to greet us. We waited for about 5 minutes, then because the store felt awkward and unwelcoming, finally decided to go to Best Buy, where, predictably, we got normal to excellent customer service. Willing to give it another chance, but not my preferred experience.

Bought a refurb MacBook Pro from Amazon last year that had the sticky butterfly key issue. While the serial was under the recall warranty, it had been tampered with/had non OEM parts added during the refurb which then voided the recall. Was not charged technical fee even though I agreed to it. Am pleased I didnt have to pay to have my lemon of a laptop diagnosed as that would have added to the pain. While there was no repair done, Im pleased they were thoughtful of my situation. Will return for future covered repairs.A lot of people dont realize Apple is a whole different ballgame than other computers as they do not allow third party/non-certified parts, hence much of the price for repairs.Was offered a $700 replacement, which would be a price offered by Apple, not so much them, but passed.

Not Happy with Results!We took our macbook to MacMan-Eau Claire location as it would not take a charge from the power cord (account under Cade Kunferman). We paid the diagnostic fee and data back up fee. It was diagnosed to need a new keyboard and new battery as well as other new internal parts for a cost of $800. The device is less than 3 years old and we originally paid $1600. We were very hesitant to spend half the value on repairs. However the technician stated that with it repaired with basically all new internal parts it would last another 3 years and if we didnt want it we could resell it for more than $800. So we proceeded with the repair. The macbook worked for less than 6 months and now will not charge again. We took it in to Macman and they stated that it would not pay to diagnos it and they would not look at it to determine what occurred in less than 6 months of use. It is interesting that this macbook was rarely used in the past 6 months with school being closed early yet the macbook now doesnt work and they will not do anything about it. We are out $800 and not happy with the results. Bottom line we should have spent the money toward a new pc.

I came in with multiple problems on my MacBook Pro -- all of which were solved and fixed by my tech, David, at MacMan. He explained everything to me on the phone in an understandable way, and even took the time to explain that my trackpad issue was an easy & inexpensive cable fix. Thanks for you help! Was in for an Apple care repair which already ends up costing more than going directly to an Apple store. Went to pick the phone up and the screen was not all the way inserted. When I brought this up, she sent it back to be installed all the way. This made me question the waterproofing as it was not properly sealed. Within a month, I had an issue with the touchscreen which ended up being a recall repair. After they had issues with the software to calibrate, I ended up missing a lot of my work to meet their horrible hours and get my phone back after an hour repair turned into a whole day. Recently I realized that after this repair, and my phone now out of warranty, the screws holding the phone screen in are missing. My force touch is now acting up and I can not get this repaired even though this is not my fault.Overall, I’ll now be going directly to Apple or a different Apple certified repair shop as I have very, very little trust in Mac Mans repair technicians.

I was late for my appointment and they still made time to get my phone in and get it repaired so I could have it for work the next morning! The owner is extremely kind and friendly. Well the prices are higher than some local repair places, the quality and the security in knowing that your Apple products are being taken care of properly is definitely worth it!

With all the Apple Stores shut down I decided to go to MacMan as they were an authorized repair shop. I did run into some issues where the security screw on my phone was stripped and they had to send it in. I was frustrated at the time but MacMan made it right and did a great job getting it turned around from Apple and communicating to me. These are guys are pro and care about the customer.

I came in to see if I could get some kind of repair because my iPhone 6 wasn’t charging very well. Instead of charging me, she offered to try a few different options first, and ended up fixing the charging issue. I then said I wanted to purchase a new case to protect my phone from further damage. The associate told me that I should contact the manufacturer first to see if my case is covered under a warranty. She could have easily taken advantage in both situations, but chose to help me save money instead. You’d have to try pretty hard to get ripped off here. Great service!

My main work computer had screen damage and of course I had a major deadline due for a project within 8 hours of finding the damage. I called MacMan and spoke with Tyler who was amazing and patient while I was slightly panicking. I was able to immediately purchase a new computer because they had the option I needed in stock compared to other local retailers. Tyler listened to my concerns and questions over the phone and was helpful and patient. Then Tyler worked over a few hours to transfer my info and get my new computer set up so I was able to meet my deadline that night! Outstanding service.Also I was expecting a week or so turn around for the screen repair at MacMan which was way better than the direct Apple quote I had received which was two weeks out or more. Even better the repair was done at MacMan in house with trusted technicians in half the quoted time. Outstanding service again a few days later!When I picked up my computer the owner took the time to listen to my story and had an awesome new business tool I hope to implement at my clinic and future projects. I left feeling how great to have a local business supporting another local business with such amazing service and consultation.Thanks to Tyler and the team at MacMan who treated my concerns, questions, and a little panicking with respect and helpful options!

I had bought a 2009 Mac Pro and realized that it needed some work. First thing I had to do was re-load the operating system. After that was working, I found out this Mac Pro did not come with a dedicated Wifi card. I looked around and decided to message MacMan to see if they could help. Thankfully, they were able to find one for me, and at a great price. I brought my Mac in and they installed it within 5 minutes. Works great now. Cant recommend Mike and his team enough. The customer service is second to none.

They fixed my phone camera, but I lost a lot of my photos which saddens me very much. I knew it wasnt a technical issue, but they reset my phone anyway. I thought it would be okay since I have iCloud, but the photos were deleted somehow anyway. Also it was a little bit overpriced...try a bigger store or Apple directly. Nice people though, so sorry for the poor review!

Was met with a lot of incompetency unfortunately. Had a repair set up through Apple and called them to confirm. Not even an hour later, nobody had a clue there was a repair. Got the name wrong. Couldnt look anything up. The left hand wasnt communicating with the right. They said 1 week until repair, and then said they would not even look at at until at least a week until they even looked at it. Rude and just not a great experience.

Really poor customer service experience. Booked an appointment for repair on an iPhone thinking it was an OS problem and told it was a “screen problem” in a condescending way. Then told because the wrong type of appointment was booked that they could not help us. There was no one else in the store at that time and we were told there was another appointment in 45 minutes and that didn’t leave enough time to help us?? The person helping us told us to try Best Buy. Best Buy took wonderful care of us, quickly diagnosed the problem and it was all covered under AppleCare. My advice if in Eau Claire is “try Best Buy” and avoid MacMan.

Brought my phone in a week ago and was told I was going to get a new one sent to me, which was good, but the only bad part was that it would take up to ten days. Called them today and they informed me that they never sent my phone in. They wonder why it takes ten days for a new phone to get in is because half that time the phone is being spent in the back of the store, forgotten. Go through Apple support if you have to and let them repair your phone if you send it in, it’s a lot quicker :-)

I had an issue with my IPhone and had made a claim through Apple Care. After sending me a replacement phone I realized i had not backed up my original phone. Apple care made me an appointment with a Sprint store but there was a miscommunication and I headed to Eau Claire when I was to go to Madison. I called the Eau Claire store, they unfortunately didn’t have a replacement screen but told me to come in and let them see what they could do. Sean was the person who got stuck with me 😜 and he did everything in his power and was able to get all of my data over to the new phone!! He is amazing 😉 when I called apple care to let them know what all had happened they too were very impressed and said that he went above and beyond what is usually done and I agree!! I was very impressed and Sean was absolutely wonderful and I just can’t say enough about the service I received!!

Went in with common iPhone X issue addressed by Apple camera has small crack but that’s not the issue it’s a ghost key or ghost screen issue they take one look nope we can’t fix that . I go over to the Little booth in the mall foxes is with no problem.. ummm yeah never would I spend a dime in this place wants every response by email person answering phone says appointment has to be made on line ???? I had an issue with my Iphone 7+ and brought it to Mac Man. Ken ended up being the individual who assisted me with it and he shortly determined that it was a defective phone and that it needed to be sent in as it was still under the Apple one year warranty. Throughout the process, Ken exemplified excellent communication as well as excellent customer service. I was delighted to work with him on my issue as he was tremendous, other employees of the store should follow Kens example that he sets. I have nothing but positive comments about the customer service provided and the experience. I will for sure be coming back here for any/all of my Apple needs!

Had a warranty screen replacement done on my Macbook Pro done here but, based on my experience, I dont think I will return to this place unfortunately.The problem is that after I dropped off the computer, I did not here anything from them the next day about the eligibility of my repair being covered by the Apple service bulletin or not. After I drop something off for repair like my car or computer, I expect a call the next business day to confirm the diagnosis, confirm how long it will take, etc. I ended up having to call them myself but they did not answer. I had to try and call them 3 different times and finally got ahold of someone who told me my computer hadnt been looked at yet-- fair enough, not a problem I just wanted to know.I went 6 days without hearing anything at all so I started to get worried mainly because I was quoted 2 to 5 days for the repair to be completed. I tried to call them again but this time it was even more difficult. I called 2 different times throughout the business day and no one answered. I called a third time where no one answered and so I had to leave a message. My voicemail was never returned. That is totally uncool.To make matters worse, the invoice stated that the customer left a voicemail inquiring about the progress on this repair under the list of services performed on the date that I called. This means that they got the voicemail, someone listened to it and then just didnt respond to it. That is not OK.The day I dropped off the computer as well as when I picked it up I had to wait in line behind a bunch of boomers asking the people behind the desk stuff like how do I iCloud and how do i get to the Facebook?. I suppose that is too be expected at a apple store/service provider place but as I was waiting I noticed that the phone would ring and ring and no one would answer it. I guess thats why I had such a hard time getting ahold of them.I did get my computer back eventually and the repair was done perfectly. Everything works great so far so I cannot complain about that. I only wish that these guys had better communication skills.

The reason MacMan Inc received a score of 1 star from me is simple. I had an issue with my MacBook Pro, it did not turn back on. I had two options: i) reinstall the operation system by myself and lose all my data, ii) turn my computer to MacMan and hope to have my data back with the restored operation system. MacMan said they will restore my operating system and data. So I paid the $167 with great hopes to have my data and operating system back.They installed a new operating system (Yosemite, WITHOUT me asking them- the technician was surprised that I did not have the newest version) and claimed that there was some corruption to my hard drive but all the data is back on my computer. As of today, I have found only 5% of my data and was surprised to find hundreds of files that were never on my computer before!The technicians in MacMan mentioned to me (AFTER I already paid the $167!) that they never encountered such issue before and seemed to be confused with how properly deal with it. I ask for some possible compensation for not getting the job THEY PROMISED to me done, and was rejected. I am an international student and I felt I was lied to and taken advantage of.** I filed an official complaint with Apple.

Within a few minutes, a young woman listened to my story, looked at the issue, and decided to call in a technician to check for viruses. I took my elderly mom in to the shop on a Sunday afternoon, and a pleasant young man named Sean helped us. We had some iPad questions and Bluetooth keyboard questions and even some email questions. He patiently answered all of them and explained the answers in language my mom could understand. He even helped us solve some problems we didn’t even know we had. Outstanding customer service and education.I have worked with these guys seven or eight times over the last few years and have yet to be disappointed. I recommend this shop!

Had a terrible experience with the supervisor aka boss’ daughter who pretty much told me they didn’t have to repair my iPhone if I didn’t like her attitude. They messed up my order by calling me instead of emailing me (even though they had my phone and it was written in the notes to email me) and therefore delayed getting my new iPhone under my warranty by almost a week because of the weekend. (I believed I dropped off my phone on a Wednesday and called them back on a Friday. The manager defended his rude daughter and didn’t own up to their mistake. Will never go back again.

Im so thankful to MacMan. A few weeks ago my family and I had some major issues involving one of our Apple IDs and our ICloud. I had no idea how to fix the issue and a friend recommended me to MacMan. After I explained the situation to them they were able to resolve this issue very efficiently. Kyle was very patient in walking me through the whole process and explained how to avoid any further issues. I had a power-cycling problem with my new iPhone 8 and the folks at AT&T (where I bought it) said I could call Apple and could probably get it replaced for free through the warranty, but that I should try MacMan first. After a short walk from the AT&T store to MacMan and about 20 minutes of trouble-shooting, I walked out of the store with a fully functional iPhone again! VERY impressive capabilities... will consider MacMan for future service and shopping needs on iPhones and iPads.

My 1st Gen Apple Watch screen popped off, no physical damage was done. After some research online, there was a lot of discussion about this being an issue due to swollen battery and Apple had issued a extended 3 year warranty to resolve this issue at no cost. After speaking to Apple Support, they suggested I drop my watch off to MacMan to be sent in for review and check if it would fall under the warranty. At the store, first male employee was pleasant and took my information. Informed me he was unaware of warranty but would look into it. I received a voicemail about a week later to call in regards to my watch. Second male employee verified over the phone, they still had not confirmed extended warranty but would contact me when they found more information (which I found strange, because I was returning their call). About a month went by and I hadnt heard any new news, I decided to give them a phone call, third male employee, after placing me on hold to review notes on this matter, snickered as he informed me they were never able to verify this warranty existed and would cost me just under $300( cant remember the exact quote) to repair the damage. I found this unsettling, knowing what Apple Support had suggested I do and reading multiple ways to resolve this issue at no cost. I declined repair service and informed him I would pick up the watch at a later date. My husband picked up my watch and he was a little disturbed(to say the least) by the interaction he had with the female employee when picking up the watch. Through small talk, he mentioned the extended warranty and mentioned we were sending the watch to Apple for review. She basically said(not exact words), if the warranty existed they would know about it. He found her unpleasant, rude and annoyed we would bring this issue to their attention. We were charged $15 for no actual service provided but its a small fee and I was not going to make a stink out of it. I spoke to Apple Support, both female representative and supervisor were able to verified 2 different scenarios in which my watch could fall into. I received a shipping label from Apple on a Tuesday and I received a NEW watch on Friday. 4 days!!!! Now that is what I call Quality Service!!!!! The last two employees at MacMan were not knowledgeable, courteous, lacked interest and communication. They probably didnt even bother to verify the warranty because it took me only a few words to verify swollen battery in Apple watches were causing the face to pop off when speaking to Apple. Dont make the same mistake I did, get a shipping label straight from Apple Support and mail it in. It will save you time and frustration.

I am writing a new review due to the kindness of the owner Mike. He personally took care of the iPhone and reached out to apple to get the phone taken care of. As there was alot of mis communication with other staff, but the owner Mike has told me he has spoke to his staff about this situation and will improve on communication with not only my situation, but all. Knowledge is power and to run a successful buisness everyone must be trained properly and I truly believe Mike will continue to train his staff. I am very pleased with how Mike took the Initiative to not only call me personally, but was also away on buisness and kept contact. After receiving the phone back in working order Mike again reached out to see how things with the phone was going.I will continue my buisness with Macman. Went up and beyond expectations. Its taken me a while to write this review, because Im still dealing with the downstream effects of Macmans poor customer service (its over 1 year later...). I bought a Macbook Pro through Macman in 2013. I had to get the motherboard replaced in 2015, which was frustrating, but the insurance policy I bought covered the cost of the replacement. Then in summer 2017 I replaced the memory and hard drive in order to help it last me a few more years (there was nothing wrong with it at the time). In November, the computer started having major issues that made it unusable. I brought it in the next time I was back in Eau Claire in December, and they said it was the motherboard again, meaning the cost of the computer wasnt worth replacing the necessary parts. I bought a PC laptop from Best Buy to replace my Macbook. When I brought in my computer to Best Buy to see if they could transfer my data, they told me that all they needed to do was remove one of the memory chips from the Mac and now it was working completely fine. This basically means my new computer was entirely unnecessary, and at the very least could have saved me the cost of transferring my data (something I could have done myself had my computer been working). I called and spoke with Mike, the owner. I was hoping for some sort of reimbursement, at a minimum for the cost of getting my data transferred (about $100) or replacement of the memory chip. He said he would give me a discount on buying another computer there for the cost of data transfer, but I had already purchased a new computer, so this was not useful. His only other offer was that he would try to sell my Mac on consignment and gave me a slight discount on the cut Macman would take. Mike was difficult to get in contact with and did not seem to appreciate the amount of time and stress consumed by Macmans mistakes. After several months on consignment, I called and spoke with someone on the floor who said he had never heard of my computer and that it wasnt on the floor. During this time, Mike just said there hadnt been any interest. My only possible interpretation is that Mike was not trying to sell my computer because he knew it would bring in less revenue for them due to the discount he was giving me. Finally, I made a surprise stop into the store and for the first time in months, he conveniently had an interested buyer call that exact day. I just decided to take my computer back and try to sell it myself. Overall, absolutely awful customer service by Mike (I had no issues with any of the other employees) and he had no sympathy for the amount of time or money this whole dilemma consumed. Unless multiple strange coincidences happened, I do not believe the process was transparent and feel that Mike had poor customer service at best and unethical business practices at worst. I would NOT recommend doing business here - theyre great when things are working well, but youre on your own once something goes wrong.

DO NOT take your electronics here for repair!I had a minimal glitch in the LCD screen on my brand new macbook and when I retrieved it from their diagnostic the screen was far worse than it was when I left it with them. Im sure most MacMan stores have great technicians, but this store has nothing but amateurs.

Absolutely terrible service! They have no sense of a time. They claim they will have things done in 24 hours and will call you back minimum 3 days later and over charge for fixing items. They do not have positive attitudes and half of the time ignore you when you are in the store. I have never felt so unwelcome in a store in my life. The best advice is to just drive the computer to Minneapolis to the Apple store there because this place is a joke.

I have been to MacMan a few times since I started using Apple products and I cant even begin to express how great this business is. First of all, I was thrilled to find out that I wouldnt have to make a lengthy drive to Minnesota if I ever needed my phone or laptop fixed. They can do that at the store. But anyways... the customer service... it was the best I ever had in my whole life. I was helped by Kyle and he was not only kind and very knowledgable about everything he was selling, but he worked very hard with me to find the best phone and laptop that fit my needs (He wasnt trying to pawn off the most expensive piece of tech they had like some sales reps do). He was definitely great and I recommend anyone to get helped by him and to go through this store for your Apple needs.

Worst customer service I have ever received.Kyle was not helpful and was not very willing to help me.As a college student that buys Apple products quite often, I would not willingly take my business here due to their poor customer service. He kept telling me to come in so they could look at it because he had a customer on the floor and made it sound like an inconvenience to be speaking with me. Obviously you need more staff if youre too short handed to help someone on the phone and in store.I will not give them my business again.

Disappointed and appalled. My husband went thru this store to buy a replacement IPhone battery. When it arrived,!It seemed like a big ordeal to get an appt to get it installed. After one of their techs looked at it. They said the battery was not replaceable bc my cell was bent due to Sitting on it”. My husband then took the cell to Batteries Plus. They replaced the battery no problems!! When we went to get our refund for the battery, Macman shorted us $21 dollars for a diagnostic fee. My husband had to demand the full refund, it was a nightmare. Sounds to me they just wanted us to unnecessarily purchase a brand new phone!

Update: Mike, thanks for posting a reply. That it took six months for you to care enough to do so says it all.I brought my daughters phone in because the microphone would no longer work for phone calls, Facetime, or video recording. The issue began only after Macman had replaced her battery a couple months earlier. It had take a couple months before we noticed because she mostly uses her phone for texting, snapchat, instagram, etc. Snapchat and instagram apparently utilize a different microphone on the device, so use of these apps didnt indicate a problem.Its 25 minute trip one-way to the store, but we drove to have the issue diagnosed. The clerk ran a diagnostic and told us we would have to make another trip during the week when a service tech was available. We made a second trip in during a weekday. The same clerk ran another diagnostic, then told us we needed to have the tech look at it. (okay...thought this was the reason we were there a 2nd time, but whatever)The clerk disappeared to the back with the phone and we waited about 30 minutes. He returned to say that the front microphone had failed the diagnostic and there would be a $139 charge to replace the display because the front microphone is part of the display. I again explained that this only began happening AFTER they replaced the battery. They said they would check the connectors. After another 15 minutes the clerk returned to reiterate the same information. He offered to let me speak directly to the technician.Enter Tyler Baker. Tylers first words are What did you need? I re-explained the issue he literally had just been working on. He told me theres nothing they could have done as part of the battery replacement which would have affected the microphone. He proceeded to check their logs for the diagnostic that was run prior to the battery replacement. He said, looks like it passed then I said yes, and now its failed. His response...Well, isnt that convenient He then proceeded to tell my daughter and me that the microphone failure was coincidental to the battery replacement and that this, being an iPhone 6, was already 4 years old and that you can only expect about a 2-5 year lifespan for the handset. I asked to speak to the store manager. He proudly proclaimed he was the manager. At that point we left the store, went to Verizon, and began to look at Android phones.

I used to work here for a few months. Almost everyone who I worked alongside and was trained by left shortly after I was let go, saying that they felt they were treated poorly by the owner. Id have to agree. Also, MacMan is as hindered by its Apple Authorized branding as it is helped. They have access to official Apple parts and repair software and training, but they are sometimes unable to help customers that have had repairs done on their devices by any other unauthorized repair places. We had to turn away so many customers because they had had their screens replaced, even though their devices would have otherwise qualified for free battery replacement programs. Also, for more complicated repairs, they have to work within the Apple repair tier process, which becomes rather costly and usually pushes customers to just purchase new devices.

Theyre either extremely dumb, or a bunch of con men. My father purchased a computer from them, a Mac Pro. He purchased it without buying a new monitor, because we had one already and it just needed an adapter. Mac Man told my dad that he needed to buy a lightning port to DVI adapter, which he did. I only learned of the purchase once my father asked me to help him set it up, and they forgot to give my dad the adapter, so he drove back and picked it up. He returned with the adapter, and we found out it did not work. So, I went online, browsed for about 10 minutes while on hold from Apple Care and managed to find the kind of adapter needed for the computer, before Apple, or Mac Man could do anything to help. And the 2 adapters put together are going to cost around $180. Be careful when buying fla computer from these people, as they dont know what theyre doing, and pretty much can only sell iPads iPhones and iPods. If you want an apple buying experience that doesnt suck, Id recommend going to an actual store.

This Monday I walked into the MacMan store intending to purchase a new iMac to replace my current iMac. I thought that my internet issues were related to the recent OS updates which I believed had slowed down my computer. I shared with the gentleman (I am sorry I do not remember your name, Greg?? with a beard) what my current computer stats were About the Mac and how much memory I was using, etc. Here is what he said... While I would love to sell you a new computer, I think your current Mac is fine. I believe you have an internet speed problem. Well he was correct. I have now switched to Charter and this has made a world of difference. My iMac and I are good friends once again! Thank you! Not to worry, when the time comes to replace my trusty computer I will be in your store. I always learn something when I step through your doors, your employees are always helpful and willing to spend time with me and answer my questions. I really appreciate the service that you provide and so often it never costs me a penny. How awesome is that!

Mike:Yesterday I went to the store because I had a problem getting my contact information from my iPad (purchased at your store) to migrate to my new iPhone 6. August Hartung was working at the time. I told him what the problem was, handed him both devices, and within 30 seconds he had my problem solved. He also helped me set up some other features on the iPhone 6. My husband and I have purchased 2 iMac computers, the iPad and various accessories from your store over the past 3 years. We have had nothing but great service from the staff there. They are friendly and always helpful. Since we are both of the baby boomer generation, new technology can be intimidating and occasionally extremely frustrating. Its reassuring to know that we can always take our devices in and receive the highest caliber of service from your staff.Thank you,Mary Ann & Dan

They were supposed to move my photos from my old computer onto my new one only did a small percentage and when I called the salesman Zack to hopefully resolve the problem he was not available asked to have him return my phone call after three attempts to reach him I gave up
