My husband and I celebrated our make up reception this weekend after getting married in June 2020. Molly did our sides and dessert bars for the event and they were AMAZING!!! We got so many compliments about our food. Either with hosting an event on site or ordering catering, you cant go wrong with Molly and Red Swan. Everything is perfection.

First signs of spring in March. Amazing views of Lake Superior at Clearwater Grille, friendly service, delicious food and Louis approved!! Chicken Nuggies were meaty! Hoomans had fish and chips & steak bites. We will be back for sure.

We stopped spontaneously, we just loved the scene when we turned the corner and decided it was a great time for lunch on the patio and we loved it! We sat inside and ordered a beer from Rikki, our bartender, while waiting for a table and she was without a doubt, the highlight. She was super nice and knowledgeable and helpful. We eventually moved to the patio and ordered food. The service definitely slowed down but the food was amazing and made up for it, we would 100% come back!

My wife and I love this place. Best Friday fish fry in Duluth. Best prime rib on Saturdays. Warm welcoming experience everytime. They also adjusted well to covid procedures so not to worry if you are still afraid to dine out once in a while. If we were smarter we would rate this place a one star so we could keep this gem to ourselves... Counting the days til we head there again for Friday fish fry!

Clearwater Event Center delivered notable and exceptional kindness and customer service during our dinning experience! I was impressed from start to finish. I called to make a reservation and the politeness and consideration of the staff via phone was commendable. We entered the patio area and we were greeted with kindness and courtesy. It started to rain and our server, Olivia, was an absolute delight about moving us inside. I have managed high end restaurants and I literally found the experience with the staff at Clearwater Event Center to supersede most high end dining venues. Bravo Clearwater and staff. In this season of uncertainty and somewhat chaotic circumstances in the retail And dinning market, Clearwater Event Center and Grille stands out as a beacon and example to the restaurant world!

We had our wedding reception at Clearwater Event Center. Molly was amazing and so helpful throughout the entire planning process. She was very flexible and patient though the planning! We couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful and perfect place to hold our reception! The decor and view were phenomenal- not the mention the great prices!!! Highly recommend!

OMG what a hidden gem !!!! We have been here an hour a couple of times now and had lunch on the patio and it has been nothing other than superb !! staff is friendly and the walleye sandwich this weekend was one of the best ones I’ve had anywhere; this place is going to do well for the foreseeable future as long as they keep up the good service , location and good food. Restaurant and patio are meticulous and location is second none with a view of the lake. Anybody who stopped here and didn’t like it just needs to quit whining and go somewhere else.

We just came upon this restaurant on our way up the North Shore on Saturday 10/3/20. There was 4 of us and we thought this place was out of the world. Great servers, unbelievable menu with delicious homemade soups from scratch. Highly recommend the Prime Rib, garlic mash potatoes, prime rib sandwich. Pretty sure whatever you order it will be past your expectations. Owner is wonderful and very proud of the establishment. No worries about Covid-19 they are on top of the game on cleaning after customers. Thank you for your hospitality on Saturday night with our motorhome. If I could rate higher than 5 you would of gotten it. Thank you for a wonderful evening!

The food was good, the waitress was good, the pricing was good. Not good? Waiting 20 minutes for your beverage order every time. Everyone receiving their food 20 minutes apart, meaning it took over an hour to receive an order of fish n chips, and it only came after complaining. My husbands food seriously came 40 minutes after I finished mine. It wasnt busy, there was only a few tables seated inside. We wont return even after getting the one meal compd. So extremely disappointing and frustrating.

This place is lovely! Beautiful building that looks like a castle from the outside. Inside is a modern restaurant with bar on one side; a banquet hall and catering facility on the other. The food is great (try the prime rib or BBQ ribs on Saturday) the drinks are reasonably priced, and you cant beat the view of Lake Superior. If youre driving between Duluth and Two Harbors this is a must-stop to relax and have a drink in the evening.

Try to order food. Told grill was shut down and watched 8 different orders come out in next 1/2 hour. I’m a member of their loyal club. What a joke. Ta Ta for now will not stop or recommend this place to anyone again. But maybe if the owner likes u it is different.🤡🤡

We have not been seated yet.Reserved a table on the patio yesterday for 6:00 today. Arrived at 5:30 hostess asked us to come back at 6:00.We came back at 6:00. A different person told us they do not reserve patio seating. But we specifically reserved patio seating. He told us it would be a 30 minute wait. I said thats what she said 30 minutes ago. So now were waiting again. My question is who is running the asylum?

It was fantastic food. From the egg rolls to even their salad. The servers were extremely nice. The bathrooms were spotless. The atmosphere was relaxing and entertaining. Just a great spot to sit on the deck and look out to the lake.

Very good food in an upscale atmosphere with reasonable prices. The menu is varied, from starters to sandwiches to full lunch and dinner entrees. Service was quick and the server was friendly with a good sense of humor. We got a table by the expansive front windows directly overlooking Lake Superior. This is a great place you might miss if you stay on the freeway. Take highway 61 instead and enjoy the ambiance here.

We had made reservations for our anniversary dinner .. we arrived got sat promptly but than we sat for 40 min with no hello or beverage order.. we did make eye contact we the severs working as they repeatedly checked on other tables ... I mean repeatedly at the other tables. Good thing I had a bottle of water in my purse. I mean with only six tables and 4 people working on the deck a hello shouldnt be to hard. Well we got hungry so we decided to leave and the kitchen was closingsoon at thispoint... even with our attempt to leave and let the staff kn ow the issue and that we were leaving we got nothing just a walk away. That was the worst dinner date ever hopefully yr 6 anniversary will be better wont be dinning there

The food is fabulous and the view is amazing! My favorites are the Up North Salad and The Steak Gorgonzola Pasta. It can be made gluten free or served on wild rice too! The deck overlooking Lake Superior is A great place to gather with friends & family. Share A bucket of Beer & appetizers while basking in the sunshine with A view of the water. A must-go-to when traveling A long the North Shore!

Every time we do the North Shore, we stop at Clearwater Grille. We love Half Price wine Sundays. Gives us a chance to try new wines. The staff is the best in helping us decide what would go with our meals. We are never let down with the quality of appetizers, or sandwiches nor the daily specials. Been stopping for years now. Wonderful place to watch the lake traffic from while sipping a new wine.

Amazing views of Lake Superior! Excellent fish fry on Friday. The complimentary bread and honey butter that comes with the fish dinner is excellent.

Great little hipster bar. Love the food, love the environment even more. I highly recommend as a destination on a night out with friends!

Nice dinner, drinks were good and the service was great. Amber our server was very nice and a great server. We were seated by the pool table, not a good choice as a game was going on. Try the walleye wild rice egg rolls, they were a good taste of Minnesota.

Good atmosphere. Big patio overlooking Lake Superior. Excellent service (we had Natalie as our server and were very impressed!). It was pricier than we expected- $16 for pasta seems expensive for the area. We had the walleye sandwich and the prime rib sandwich. Both were underwhelming in flavor and small in portion size. But wed definitely go back!

The Clearwater Grill has some great appetizers and drinks. I often go there to meet friends. Its so close to the lake. Its fun to go for a walk or bike ride on Scenic Highway 61.

Kind of leaning towards the old style supper club, nice atmosphere and good food. Just up the north shore from Duluth with a great view of lake Superior.

Food was amazing! I ordered a chicken wild rice soup with tea. This was a perfect light appetizer. I was not as hungry for the meal, so I ordered Kreme BBQ shrimp. Those little guys were wrapped with crispy bacon and was accompanied with delicious BBQ. Service was good and attentive. The view was incredible!

The atmosphere at Clearwater is fantastic. I have been treated with such respect from all the staff. Owners are always around to help. The food is excellent. Very happy to be here and looking forward to the next time!

Went for a family wedding. We were traveling in a RV an everything was booked. Drove through the lot during the day a happened the owner was outside. We spoke with him and he couldnt have been more friendly..RV Friendly too.. Great place , awesome owner.. Thanks for making our day.

Love Clearwater Grille! The deck has a fabulous view of the lake! The staff are amazing, especially Eva, and the food and drinks are wonderful! You got to cone and enjoy!

The all you can fish fry was ok. They only initially serve you two pieces of fish and then when you want more they only offer you up to two pieces again. Other all you can eat fish fry that I have been to start you off with atleast five pieces and then you can order more than two pieces if you want.

This beautiful old building once resembled a castle. Current ownership has done wonderful things with the property and the menu. They have fantastic specials and often have live music or trivia!

My husband and I chose the Clearwater Grille for our wedding reception venue partly because of the gorgeous views of Lake Superior just across the street, and partially because of family memories of the site when it was another business (sentimental reasons). We were so happy with the service from Jessica Fischer and the staff at the Clearwater Grille...the food was amazing, we still have guests complimenting us for our dinner choices (chicken, roast beef, and the wild rice medley were all cooked to perfection!), the chocolate fountain was quite a crowd-pleaser, and the cake was delicious. We had awesome and friendly servers and a very relaxing and enjoyable night, everything went so smoothly! Everyone had a good time!

Its always nice to stop in here from time to time. The food was good, and so was the service. The only thing I couldnt help notice was how dirty the windows were. Lol

The cocktails are delicious, the food is good, and the view from the deck is beautiful. Vegans wont find anything to eat here and vegetarians have just 3 options on the extensive menu, but theyre tasty.

Horrible customer service. Overlooked a description of an item on the menu and ordered it. When it came, server took 15 minutes to come back to check on us (food getting cold by now), and explained we overlooked description and asked for a different item. Server brought new meal. When bill came, both items were charged. It was not explained that new item would be charged. Asked to see manager to have item discounted or removed that was not eaten. Second server came out (not manager) and approached table with, So I hear you dont think you have to pay for your meal? In extremely rude, snobby attitude. Customer explained situation and second server said it was MY fault for not reading the menu correctly, brought menu out and pointed to item on menu (as if I cant read and shes showing it to me). She said its not their fault I couldnt read correctly. Did not apologize for anything. My husband asked to see manager and she said the manager, just stepped out the door. She walked away and we were still double charged now for a meal I didnt eat, AND snotty, rude customer service. Will NEVER eat here again. Its only money, but just an ounce of courtesy would have been nice!

We have gone to the Friday fish fry the last three months but were very disappointed this time; prior meals have been much better. This time the fish (the waitress said it was pollock) was very small, about an inch wide and very dry, overcooked to almost rubbery; the very dark brown batter tasted good but was more abundant than the fish. Tater tots were over fried and so hard you could not poke a fork in them.

They must be having staffing issues the waits are getting longer and it took them 15 minutes to stop and tell us that they couldnt seat us in a half empty place for 20 min. Have had great food and service in the past however this place seems to be going down hill fast.

Coffee was weak and waited around a half hour to pay for two drinks. They had our card the entire time. This is the third time it has happened that we sit around and wait. They must be low on staff. Other than that the people are nice, and it is a nice atmosphere

Great menu, great food, and some truly wonderful secret recipes. Very good wine selection. The best all-you-can-eat Friday night fish fry in the region. The breading is almost tempura light. And NO long waits for skimpy seconds, or thirds, or...

The Oktoberfest menu was fantastic. Great spaetzle and schnitzel was stellar! I strongly suggest the stuffed mushrooms too

The service here is incredibly bipolar. One day you are treated like welcome guests and evertything goes as it should. The next you are an intruder bothering them with your business. It’s odd.

Nice place but overlooking the details. Booths were grubby. The food presentation was great but in satisfying. Our meal was cold and the mashed potatoes were dry.

Ive stopped here twice, once last year and once this year, and both times the service has been terrible. The staff is friendly, but the time it takes to get a food and drink order delivered is way too long to make me want to come back. Great view of Lake Superior though. Come here if youve got plenty of time to kill.

My family and I enjoyed the Easter Buffet. Excellent food, best service/no waiting, very friendly/accommodating staff, looks beautiful/bright/inviting inside! I used to work there when it was Lakeview Castle and it was horrible/dark then and needed much renovation, Im happy to see this place get owners who want to have people return and put smiles on faces. Very tasty foodOther reviews had complained about prices but I asked to view menu and it was about going rate if not cheaper on some items...compare to canal park where one has to pay to park if a spot can be found and the mall area where the wait can be 90 minutes to pay for over priced food due to demand. Food was ok. Nothing special. Nice view of the lake and nice outdoor seating. Food was bland. I felt it was too expensive for what we got! With so many other options available on the North Shore, we wont be going back here.

Went before and after Grandmas Marathon. Both trips had good food and drink selection plus a great view. Our first trip was all around great, but on the second the waitress didnt put the order in until we had been there for about 45 minutes. We got our food about an hour and fifteen minutes after being the second party (of 4) to enter the restaurant. We were not offered anything for our trouble (Id expect maybe at least an app to tide us over waiting for our entrees). Hopefully it was a fluke, but Id be careful going here if in a hurry or really hungry. Definitely two different experiences a day apart.

The servers are incredibly nice and easy to work with. But the food... The fajita is TINY, the steak is bland, the kids burger we got was served still bloody, and then the replacement burger had a bone in it. A bone. I didnt know that was possible. Probably wont be coming back.

Friendly, welcoming service, good food & very tasty adult frosty beverages in an attractively updated dining area on the shores of Lake Superior. Weve had erratic service in the past (prior to 2020), but have been here twice recently & had a wonderful experience both times. Well be back soon!

A little spendy but great food, great service, decent view. I would definitely recommend it as a stop! We had the kids corn dogs, fries, and spaghetti. Both were great. Adults had the ahi tuna tacos which were delicious and a must try, the wild rice soup which was a nice twist on a Minnesota favorite. Also had pork steak...tender, well flavored but could have used more glaze. The walleye was spectacular.

Come for the view of the lake, thats about it. Service was so so, food was fine, deck view of the lake perfect.
