What an incredible automotive repair shop! I recently moved to the Dublin area and Ive been looking for a mechanic that is knowledgeable, trustworthy, and that provides quality work at a reasonable price. Based on my personal experience and lengthy conversations with these guys, I would not go anywhere else. Art and the rest of the team are truly amazing and they really care about the work they do to the finest details. Not only that, they go above and beyond the scope of work to make sure that you are satisfied. I truly felt that Art and the team gave me the white glove treatment on my 1987 BMW 325I.Prior to finding Funks/Edge, I called a few other shops for estimates and they were just plain silly based on the scope of work. Luckily, I found Funks/Edge online and was pleasantly surprised to see all the amazing reviews, so I gave Art a call. Let me tell you that this was a game changer! First of all, Art and I must have spoken for at least ~30-45 min and I knew I was in good hands. I explained to him what I wanted to do and because of his extensive knowledge, he was quick to point out a few other maintenance items that I should consider since they would be working in that general area. The very next day, Art gave me a quote as promised and it was very reasonable and competitive. To be honest, pricing is very important, but to me, its pointless if the work being done or the people youre working with cant be trusted. Art and his team are exceptions in every way possible.The work was finished on time and Arts team went above and beyond in a few areas. For one, they found a few covers that were originally missing and also informed me of some questionable work that was previously done. Secondly, Ive had a weird clutch issue and their team went above and beyond with trying to diagnose it and also bled the system to rule out hydraulics at no charge (at least an hour right there!). Thirdly, Art stayed in constant communication with me through the entire process. Theres plenty more, but lets just say that I was very impressed!To sum this up, Im an automotive enthusiast and Im very particular when it comes to having others work on my vehicle. I had the most amazing experience and I will keep coming back to them. If you need work done on your car, skip the other shops. I refer all my coworkers to Funks. He works on both my Volvos. He doesnt sell you parts you dont need. Hell tell you if you need to replace something right away or if you can go for a couple months more before replacement . Its reassuring to know that there are honest mechanics out there like him. As an aviation mechanic myself I have even greater respect for what he does. Dont waste your time elsewhere-thats not my opinion its a fact.

Customer For Life!I have been bringing my cars to Funks European Auto Repair, now Funks Auto Works for over 25 years.Ive owned only two cars in my lifetime, a BMW and then a Volvo. I bought my BMW 320iS new and drove it for 16 years putting over 300,000 miles on it. Then I bought a new Volvo S70 T5 which I still have after 14 years with nearly 400,000 miles and still going strong. I attribute my great success with both cars and their tremendous longevity largely to Funks Auto Works.Arthur Funk is extremely knowledgeable about nearly every make and every model for most cars made, particularly European and Japanese makes (which is nearly everything). Most impressive of all is how well he listens to each customer and how patient he is in sharing his knowledge and explaining sometimes complex mechanical issues to his customers. I have never heard Art hesitate once when confronted with difficult to diagnose car problems. He seems to be able to identify problems with cars so quickly I think hes a car psychic! He even talks about making cars smile and happy when they come to see him!Every single time that Ive done business with Funks, I have been treated with respect, kindness and with the highest professionalism. I believe that Funks prices are so competitive that I actually worry if I am being undercharged most of the time. If Arthur has to charge more than the first estimate because of some unforeseen problem when taking apart the engine for some known repair, he is so apologetic and tries hard to make the price easier. Almost nobody else would ever do that for you, especially with the high quality of work that they do.Any business large or small is only as good as the people who work there. But in very small businesses, the person IS that business. Arthur Funk has spent most of his life treating people with the utmost care. The service that he performs is just the way his fortunate customers get to receive that care.I count myself as one of those fortunate few and as a result, I have enjoyed virtually non-stop dependability from my automobiles for 700,000 miles.I am so happy that Google Places offers a sixth star for Best Ever because Funks Auto Works is the one place that truly deserves it.
