They exceeded every expectation we had; from our initial contact, scheduling, customizing our trip, timely departure, keeping my 8 & 11 yr old sons engaged at all times, to putting us on quality fish consistently. Did we have the best time ever??? ABSOLUTELY! Killed the snappers! Top notch charter. Professionalism all over these guys. Chris, the Captain, put us on the fish and Alex (14 yrs of experience deckhand) kept us rigged up and tight. We couldn’t of dreamed it would’ve been better. These guys are the real deal. Wow! What a top notch experience! Captain Chris and First Mate Alex kept us on the fish all morning! They were so patient with us on our first deep sea fishing experience. Our five year old daughter had an experience she will never forgot! Alex helped her reel in some big fish; while keeping her safe and having fun! The entire experience from booking, to fishing, to cleaning our fish and directing us to the Destin Ice House was professional and seamless. Fished with Chris on 7/18/21. Limit of big red snapper early then found a great weed line where we caught 4 wahoo. One wahoo pushed 70 lbs. Great boat, great crew, great time! We did the 10 hour and even added a bonus hour. Will definitely fish with these guys again!

Capt Chris did a great job of putting us where the fish are. We had a group of 6 and ended up with 53 Vermillion Snapper! The deck hand Alex was all over it. He worked his A$$ off and did a great job. The BACKLASH was extremely comfortable for the times we were in transit. When we come back, we are definitely booking with Capt Chris and the BACKLASH. Captain Chris and Alex were super! Our family of 5 had a blast with kids ages ranging from 8 to 18. Great hospitality and beautiful boat. We’re taking home a ton of fish and everlasting memories. Highly recommend and looking forward to fishing with them again!

Capt Kirby and Shelby his wife have always made every experience hit the gulf fun and enjoyable!! Whether we have went bay fishing or out in the big water, they have always made it sooo fun for me and my family and even some customers that were able to go with me. This was my 2nd 24hr trip with the Backlash and had an awesome time. Capt Chris and Shelby were excellent hosts as well as the rest of the crew (Alex and Nick, well Nick was a bonus member) who were very knowledgeable when it comes to catching the fish. We just finished our fishing charter with Destin Offshore Charters ( Captain Chris Kirby ) . This operation is first class. They put us on a limit of Red snapper in 30 minutes or less and then we spent the rest of the day catching King Mackerel . Alex the first mate and Capt. Chris really know how to put people on the fish. My friends and I had an excellent time and we will be back soon for sure !

Amazing 1 in a lifetime experience! The captain knows exactly where to take you for the biggest bang for your buck. Super helpful and fun crew! Pulled in about 60 lbs of eatable meet (grouper/snapper) from a 12 hr trip. Highly recommended!

We had an amazing experience with the Backlash team. Booking our trip with Shelby was very easy and she explained the whole experience to me. Both Chris’s took great care of us on the boat and we caught a tone of fish. First class team with first class service! I can’t wait to come back and do it again.

My first trip on the Backlash with Captain Chris and Matt was last year in July. It went so well, I scheduled another trip this July. These guys know their stuff - we had a great time both trips, caught some great fish, and had plenty to eat afterward. They work really hard (but make it look easy), and truly enjoy what they do, which I think makes their charter trips more enjoyable. Not only would I recommend them to anyone looking for a quality fishing charter, but I have no reason to even try another crew. Thanks for the great trip and the memories!

First time ever going on a deep sea trip. This guys are awsome. Helped us in everyway possible. Got us on the fish an even tried for shark. Bagged some nice size red snapper. They even recommended a local restaurant that would cook them. Can I say we had a awesome feast with the fish we caught. Will def be back. Highly recommend this guys.

Can’t say enough good things about them. We’ve done quite a few private charters and this was by far the best. We did the 8 hour trip and had a blast! We caught so many snapper we reached our bag limit pretty quickly. They were able to put us right on the fish, and we were able to catch a huge red snapper and a couple of Amberjack. And when we asked to try for a shark they went for it, and within a few minutes hooked a nice bull shark! As for the people, they are really easy to communicate with. Captain and first mate were great help and really friendly, they sure stayed busy! The boat was really nice as well, with a TV, fridge, and AC(which was a life saver). I’d highly recommmed to anyone looking for a great time fishing in Destin.

Cpt Chris and Travis were amazing. We limited out on Red Snapper, hooked into very nice grouper and landed an Amber Jack. When you book your trip, you will speak to Shelby (Cpt Chris wife). She was incredible in explaining what our trip would entail. She even suggested we take our fish to Dock on the Island restaurant to have our fish prepared by Chef Tommy. The meal was out of this world. If you want a full experience of what fishing with a 1st class charter is like book a trip with Cpt Chris on the Backlash.
