My rental company uses Greens and I had the pleasure of meeting Eli who was beyond friendly and didn’t mind taking my key down to the old basement himself (I’m terrified of spiders and there’s tons down there). He noticed a disc golf hole in our backyard and chatted with me about it for a bit. He was so friendly and speedy! I cannot recommend Greens enough!

Greens Appliance, Heating & Cooling just installed a HDVC and hot water heater today. The installers Thomas and Colt were very professional, courteous and competent. They explained how everything worked and answered all our questions. Our salesman Zack did a great job assessing our needs and recommended the best product for our home. Zack was also professional, courteous and competent. We are very happy with the product and cost.

Zach Brichetto came by to check on my AC today. He quickly diagnosed the issue and presented my options to repair or replace. Of course replacing the unit was the pricier option but I was never steered towards one option vs the other. I decided to replace the entire unit after discussing the pros/cons of both options. Zach mentioned he had years of service experience which was evident. Pairing this experience with his genuinely honest sales approach made my decision easy. Quality service all around - I would highly recommend Greens and Zach to anyone with appliance/HVAC issues.

Truly cannot say enough good things about this company. Our technician, Zach, was able to squeeze us in for an emergency call the next day. He arrived on time and even asked if he could come before schedule, which was ideal due to the heat! When he arrived, he ran a multitude of tests to determine the issue for our AC not running properly. During each test, he explained to me in as much detail (and in ways that this non-technical customer would understand!) as possible. With his multitude of knowledge, he was able to figure out that another company had been serviced prior to us moving in and had used an excessive amount of coolant, which was causing all of the issues. He spent an extra hour running every test possible to make sure this was the issue before we would have had to spent 4k on a new unit. He was SO thorough and detail-oriented that he saved us several thousand dollars- despite the extra time it took for him. He walked me through every option we had in detail- including the lower-budget ones so we would not feel pressured in any way. He was genuine, honest and so personable. I never felt at any point that he was trying to scam us or was in it to make money, which was a breath of fresh air. We were so so impressed with this company and will continue using them and recommending them in the future!

Greens has been our go to for anything needed at our house for the past almost 5 years. We live in an older house where the heater and air conditioner are original to the house so we have had to call a few times for maintenance work.We cannot say enough good things about Zach, he has been the one who has serviced our units the past few times and he was awesome to work with. You can count on Greens to be there for you! Our air conditioner suddenly stopped working on the hottest day of the year. It was late in the evening when we called Greens. Our technician Zach B. was quick to respond and arrived in a timely manner to check out the problem. Zach was very polite and was very prepared with everything he needed to fix our issue. He noticed my furnace was over 40 years old, and helped me choose a cost-convenient way to get it replace with something that will be more efficient. Really enjoyed his upbeat personality - given it was sweltering in my home!

I had recently purchased a new GE fridge and the freezer drawer was not closing correctly. I called the store I purchased it from, who then transferred me to GE, who sent my service request to Greens. I cannot say enough good things about my experience. Mike Pederson showed up and quickly fixed the issue. Not only did he do that, he did what the other stores delivery crew should have done. He leveled the French doors and the overall unit, then went over a couple of features that I wasnt aware of on the fridge. I so wish I would have just purchased my fridge from Greens in the first place and avoided the other store.

They were so communicative with when the technician was going to be there and when they were actually on the way. The guys, Zach and Brady, came out to service my AC and help install my new washer they were all on time and SUPER nice and helpful. Greens performed our AC maintenance this year. We called them because they had done a great job installing the unit years ago and have always treated us fairly and quickly. The technician, Zach, did a great job and diagnosed a problem right away. He had the necessary parts on the truck and was able to get the unit repaired and functioning great in very little time. We will continue to use Greens for our HVAC and appliances maintenance.

All of our appliances came with our home, and until now none had needed repair or attention we couldnt perform, but when our dryer stopped drying and timing I knew it was out of our league. We decided to call Greens specifically because they also sell refurbished appliances and we try to buy quality, used products when we can to reduce cost and environmental impact, and we didnt want to have to deal with going into Lowes or Home Depot and talking with people who just did sales. Greens was great! They did my FAVORITE thing any service can do and sent me the name and picture of the technician coming to my home (as a woman who often handles service calls while home alone this MEANS SO MUCH TO ME!). Mike came out and diagnosed our dryer as done, considering it was made in the early 1990s, I feel like that was a reasonable diagnosis. Mike was also able to tell us that they had 1 refurbished gas dryer on the sales floor right now, if I wanted to call and get some information on it, but they could also help me order a new dryer if I wanted one instead. Mike cleaned up after himself and headed out with with a very reasonable fee for a service call. I gave Greens a call and they texted me the photos and measurements of the used dryer and just asked that I call if I wanted it, no pressure, no gimmicks. The used dryer was a fraction of the cost of a new one and for $90+tax they would bring it into my house, install it, and take away my old one. Which is exactly what I wanted to hear! Im happy to report that Zachary and crew came out yesterday and installed the dryer and hauled the old one away in less than an hour (and they had to take it down my stairs). Zachary even cleaned out a lot of missing socks he found under our old dryer and gave us some tips on maintaining a cleaner dryer vent tube. All in all, we will definitely be using Greens the next time we need any appliances repaired or replaced!

I moved into my new home recently and needed a washer and dryer. I purchased a very nice used set from them and had them deliver and install the units. I also had them check on my dishwasher as it wasnt running correctly. I had both the installer technician and the appliance technician here at the same time and they did a fabulous job and were very professional and courteous. Also, I want to point out that I received over the top service from Molly in getting everything arranged. She was very informative and at the end of the day I was left with a WOW experience from everyone I spoke with or had direct contact with.. Great Job Everyone! Very satisfied customer!

I purchased a Bosch dishwasher from Home Depot. The installers Home Depot sent didnt install the dishwasher because of some lame excuse about the shut off valve. Im 68, two heart attacks and high risk COVID. Had to tell them to put on masks and then he wore the mask with his nose hanging out in my house. I contacted HomeAdvisor who advertised the best pros in West Des Moines. This pro installed the dishwasher and left with it not working. Never wore a mask even though I was wearing one. I called him back and he came the next day and couldnt fix it. Bosch referred me to Greens Appliance. They sent out two guys the next day who fixed the faulty installation and had it running in about 20 minutes. Very knowledgeable and polite. They wore masks the entire time they were in my house. I never had to ask them. Very pleased, Dishwasher now works great. Highly recommend.

The staff are really nice they went to check my gramndas washer and they told her it would be more expensive to fix it then to just replace it. Most companies would try to charge outrages prices but they did not and she ended up getting a new washer from them and they took the old one.

I first used Greens a year ago after decades of disappointing service from a myriad of other companies. Three times in the past several years these other firms highly recommended I replace the HVAC system and condensing unit they came to inspect at a cost of well over $4,000. I suspected they were just pushing product. I recently had Brad from Green make a repair on the condensing unit which was supposed to be replaced years ago from these other so-called experts. Brad inspected the condensing unit, make some repairs and provided me with his inspection notes regarding the condensing units condition (it still have life left in it). He was honest and forthright in his appraisal . . .and for that Im a Greens Appliance FAN FOR LIFE. This is a highly reputable family business you can trust!

Either the two guys who worked in my moms furnace are really stupid, or theyre just really good actors. We figured out the real problem, the one they deliberately overlooked in order to take advantage of a little old lady on a limited income. Tried telling me she needs a new furnace when the one she has is immaculate. Dont let them play you for a fool. Got us once, wont get us again.

Service guy was great. But it cost me $95 to have them drive 1 mile come in, spin the drum on my washer and tell me its no good. Way to much!!!

Our GE Dishwasher was no longer drying and no longer completely washing the dishes. I suspected that the power outage from the Derecho had an impact because it was about that time the dishwasher stopped cleaning/drying even though it seemed to run through the cycle the same way once power was back on. I scheduled an appointment with Green because they were a GE certified repair service. The guy came over plugged in a diagnostic tool to the dishwasher, told me that it was heating up properly and there was no error message, charged me $115 and left. In and out in less than 30 minutes, maybe less than 20. Did not do a single thing besides plugging in the tool. A quick check on youtube gives a handful of different things that could explain the issue and be checked but he did not do anything. It was a waste of time and money.

I have tried calling them twice this past year for a couple of appliances that needed work done. The automated answering system would say all lines were busy and leave your name and number and they would call back. Never heard back from them and so I called a local business and was extremely impressed with the prompt response from them. I was very disappointed in Green’s lack of response. I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere.

First, they sent a heating technician instead of a refrigerator tech. Then they rescheduled to the next day with another 4 hour window. They no-showed the 4 hour window. Now I’ve been home waiting for a repair for 8 hours and got nowhere. Never using them again.

Had them out for a pre-winter furnace inspection and Mark was great. Had the part that was needed to make sure my furnace was in top condition. He gave great information and was very professional. I want to tell everyone about how wonderful this company is. My sister used them for an appliance repair a couple weeks ago...they were at her house the very next day...not two weeks later...BUT the very next day and repaired the appliance and she appreciated me for the reference to them! If you are not using Greens to take care of your heating/cooling/appliances you absolutely need to switch! There is no high enough praise for this company and how they operate.We had an issue with our AC last summer during the 100 degree heat wave. The technician went above and beyond to figure out the issue and returned the next day (during his day off) to make sure everything was running smoothly. A few days later, the office staff also checked in on us to make sure we were happy with everything and to make sure the AC was still running. During the entire experience, we felt as though we were being treated like family. Communication from the top and from the technician were excellent and we never felt in the dark about anything. All repairs were thoroughly explained and never did we second guess what they were doing.A big thank you to the owners of Greens for hiring fantastic employees and fostering a caring and customer service oriented culture. It makes these twice a year maintenance requirements so much easier to deal with!

Came to our home and ran a heat/temperature rise test inaccurately and then told us that it was too high. There were basic things that any HVAC tech should have known to check/do prior to the test. This is a tactic to get them more money because they assumed wed hire them to fix this, when nothing needed fixed. Ive read other reviews and I think this company knows just how to bamboozle people and people think theyre getting great service. We had another reputable company come out and do all the testing accurately. Everything was normal.

Had our blower fan and motor go out on our system in peak hit weather days... It was rough... They brought a portable ac unit for us to keep us cool, had to wait a week for a new unit to be installed... But they were able to install a new heater and ac system in roughly a day and a half.

Over the past several of years, I have called on Greens to fix my refrigerator and furnace. They have also replace my water heater and both sump pumps in my home and added a whole house humidifier. Their prices were always less than other big name companies and they provided quick service. They were great about calling ahead of time to let me know when I was next on the list and then call again to let me know when he was on his way over and what time I should plan on him arriving so I could be sure to be home. They are the only Heating/Cooling company I have recommended and have never been disappointed.

I have used Greens Appliance for a couple of years now. Our HVAC is fairly old in the condo we purchased, and Greens has suggested low cost maintenance to keep it running efficiently. They know how old it is and have never suggested replacing it. In my mind, they stand out because of this; also they are exceedingly easy to schedule and I get reminders and updates as to when to expect them. Greens (Zach, specifically - whom I would absolutely request) has done work at both my office and house for the last four years. I have used Greens twice during the past couple of months. My dishwasher quit working and then my air conditioner froze up. Both times the technicians came out I was very satisfied with how pleasant and informative they were. I was given an explanation of what was happening with my equipment and offered resolutions for those issues. I was also given an approximate cost of the repairs in advance so there were no surprises. They were honest and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that one of the resolutions ended up costing less than what I was quoted. I highly recommend Greens for their friendly and superior service!

They Over charged our account from what we agreed and They dont want to refund

Didnt do what I asked them to do, charged more than they said they would. Major stress and frustration when I am sick all the time.Edit They were willing to get back to what they originally said but it was an unpleasant negotiation., so I bumped it up to 3 stars. Overall the service was mostly not what we talked about but they put forth an effort to make it right in the end.

I phoned Wednesday afternoon, and Josh came Thursday morning. He was EXCELLENT; very professional, smart and swift to trouble-shoot the issue with my refrigerator. We just moved to Ankeny a year ago so while I dont know much about Greens Appliance, I know their employee Josh is top-notch. I will request him again if I ever need appliance servicing.

Had a broken dishwasher. It would not pump out the water. Called them on a Thursday and they told me someone could come Monday morning. That morning, he called 10 minutes in advance. I had tried to fix it myself but could not. He wanted to know what I found. I told him, and in 15 minutes he had identified the issue (a piece of plastic in the drain motor that he removed) and fixed it. He then told us the best ways to use the dishwasher, how to load it, etc. He could not have been nicer or more polite. It was not cheap but I didnt expect it to be and he certainly could have charged us more by fixing things that didnt need fixing (like replacing the motor). I could not have had a better experience and would highly recommend them.

I have used Greens for a number of services. From appliance repair, to a new humidifier, to seasonal maintenance on my furnace/AC. Greens has always done a fantastic job. Their employees have been very knowledgeable and professional. I cant recommend them enough!

I’ve used Green’s many times over the past 18+ years (furnace, AC, etc.) and have always received great service. I was just at my mother’s house to let the technician in to repair her stove. They called me approximately 45 minutes ahead of time to let me know we were next up for service, and then again when the technician was on his way. They also sent me a text with an introduction to the technician (including a photo) so I would know who to look for. When Ty arrived at the door, he put booties on over his work boots to keep the carpet clean, even though I told him it wasn’t necessary. He figured out the problem quickly and gave me a price (down to the penny, including tax) for the work before replacing the igniter. He fixed the stove and even cleaned up the burners so they would work better. This company is extremely professional, and I would highly recommend them to anyone!

They CLAIM to be a 24 hour emergency service. Well, almost 24 hours later no call back at all, no response at all. BEWARE if you call them youll likely freeze to death...............Update. 6 months later no call back or response of any kind at all ever. Way to provide 24 hour service Greens!! False advertise much?

I have used Greens for both my residence and business. I was impressed with the speed in-which they responded to both my situations. They performed excellent services. The field tech was knowledgeable and understanding and I would recommend them to anyone.

A little rocky with getting appointment (may have been due to LG) but Greens came after schedule was set up. Jeff was very professional in attitude and knowledge. He had to order a part and it took less than a week; then just a few minutes to replace the part on the second trip. Our experience was very positive and would highly recommend Jeff & Greens Appliance.

Greens has always been a pleasure to deal with! They installed our furnace and air conditioning units both within the last 18 months. Dan Sprague came to our house beforehand and explained the type of units we should get and what was right for our home and price range. Technicians have been outstanding and very knowledgeable! We recommend them to everyone!

I have been quite impressed with Greens. I had them install a whole home humidifier and do some duct work in our attic (our bathroom fans were leaking water when it got really cold.) Their service men have been extremely nice and helpful. The office person that you call into to make appointments is great. And I think Ive even talked to the owner, or someone that has helped me over the phone and explained things to me over the phone. Id definitely recommend them.

Horrible customer service. I called them out to my house during regular business hours (Wed) ,going all night with little heat, so I would be waved the service call fee. There labor charge was $90 for the 10 minute fix. Clearly they over charge for labor to compensate for the waved service fee. They partially fixed the problem and when I had to call them back on Saturday, 3 days later, because I once again had no heat I was charged the on call rate to come fix another 10 minute problem. Both people I talked to on Saturday were rude and argued with me and treated me like I didnt know was I was talking about. I have a heat pump and have had it for 7 years and understand quite well how it works and it was obvious when it wasnt working and didnt appreciate being told I didnt understand how it worked and even when I did told them what my settings were set st they still argued with me and acted like I was lying. They then called me Monday morning cause I was upset about getting charged again when the problem should have been fixed the first visit. The same rude guy (DJ) I talked to Saturday called me back using his big boy official title to try and act like he was somebody. He said hed look in to why it wasnt looked at properly on the first visit and talk to that tech and call me back. I never heard from him again. Will never be using there services again!

My dryers heat stopped working so I called Greens on Monday and made an appointment for Thursday. They did have earlier appointments but this is what worked for me. They told me that it would be somewhere between 12-4 and that I would get calls to tell me a better estimate the day of. Thurdsay morning, I got a call saying they were heading to the person in front of me so I was next on their list and then got a call when they were on their way. I appreciated the level of communication.Once the technician arrived, I described the problem and he inspected things and was quickly able to say what was wrong and give me a cost. It was expensive and he said hed understand if Id want to think about it. I decided to go ahead with the repair. He fixed the broken part and also shortened the vent to improve air flow for no additional cost. He was very quick and explained thoroughly what was wrong. I would recommend Greens to anyone needing appliance repair.

Huge shout out to Green’s, they were fast, efficient, and fair priced to come out on short notice and get our new water heater installed due to the floods. Not to mention they walked me step by step over the phone to trouble shoot if my furnace needed replaced or what I needed to do to get it going again so I could have AC running even if I couldn’t shower. Ive used Greens for several reasons. 1) replaced my garbage disposal, quickly and affordably. 2) Service my furnace and now on a yearly maintenance package. 3) repair/ trouble shoot my gas fireplace. DJ is GREAT! They take the time to educate and present options. I appreciate that instead of just ....you must just do it, etc. I want to understand and also be a better home owner to prevent future problems on my own. They also call you when the tech is on the way, so I could leave my office to greet and be there when they diagnosed. Less time out of the office. I would recommend them to anyone with heating, cooling or appliance needs.

Took an extra day but ended up a good experience

Greens Appliance Heating and Cooling has been taking care of our appliances for several years now and their service is exceptional. They are fast to respond when you have a problem, they do a really good job with their service, and their technicians are very friendly, reliable, and considerate of your time and expenses. I recommend them highly.

Great communication before the tech arrived, so kudos to the office staff. Paul was on time, friendly, knowledgeable, explained things well, and was very careful to leave everything cleaned up after the work.

Two weeks ago I had them come out and look at my LG dishwasher as it would not drain. The serviceman stated the pump was out and needed a new drain assembly. he would have to order the parts. He billed me 95.00 for the service call even though the dishwasher showed an error code that said not draining. Yesterday I called them and spoke with a female stating it has been two weeks and asked how long it would be. She told me the parts are on back order and she would call as soon as they were in. I told her to just refund my service call of 95.00 and I will call someone else. She stated let me call you back. She called back approximately two hours later and said the parts were in. ( how did that happen) We scheduled for today to install. The repairman came out with just the drain assembly. I asked about the pump and he then stated he didnt think I would need it. He installed the drain assembly and it worked. The dishwasher was fixed. I asked how much I owed and he said around $276.00 plus tax. I told him that is outrageous for a drain assembly. I then looked it up online and asked him if this is the same assembly. He said yes and I showed him the price. $30.00. He stated I dont make the prices and told me the bill was $198.22 giving me a break. So my total was $293.76 including the service call for a drain assembly that costs $30.00 online. That means he charged me 168.22 labor for a 30 minute job. On top of that I noticed after he left that he just pushed the dishwasher back in place and did not secure it to the cabinet so now it wobbles. I think I will fix that myself and never use them again.

I was having a couple of problems with a dryer hose/vent. I explained I cannot keep the hose connected to the machine, so it vents into the room. I also explained I have birds nesting in the vent, thus keeping it venting into the room and asked for a screen or something to keep the birds out. When service man arrived he explained putting a screen on would only clog with lint so he isnt going to do anything with the outside. So he set about correcting the hose connection to the machine and left. I am disappointed as I have yet another bird nest in the vent 3 days after I am charged $134.09 to replace a hose. I now have to go buy my own louver or critter cage to put on the vent myself to keep the birds out. I would have thought the service man would have done this for me.

They provide great service and will stand behind their work. DJ and the owner are very helpful. I will use them in the future for my heating and cooling needs. Thank you!
