Favorite and best mechanic spot. Hands down. The people are not only highly skilled but also genuinely good and honorable. They looked out for me in a serious way when they discovered that my last mechanic created damage in hopes that I would pay more money. Medlock Gulf identified my auto issues, explained and showed those issues in easy and effective ways, fixed the issues promptly and skillfully, and charged me a fair and affordable price.I recommend this place to everyone.

I drive a 1999 Camry with 400k plus miles. Id purchased it new in 1999. Its a 5 speed. Over the years Ive had work done, of course. Lately the car had been jerking. Id gone to 3 mechanics trying to locate the problem. The mechanics at Gulf found the problem, were able to fix it & the price was half of what theyd originally quoted. The repairs were done in a couple of hours. They have my car running like new. Great job and thank you so much!

This little gas station is awesome. After a long trip I stopped for gas and to use the bathroom. As gas station bathrooms go, this one looked like a hotel bathroom. It was big, had counter space and above all, was immaculate! The manager was a man of few words but very nice. I highly recommend this station.

Over heated right there next to them and they were so helpful! Had me back on the road in no time. So basically I hope y’all are lucky enough to have misfortune near good folks like these guys.

Never take your car to Medlock Gulf in Decatur. All I wanted them to do was get my A/C working and while in there install a new radiator, I could have installed the radiator myself but since it was in the shop already to have the air worked on I went ahead and had them do it all at the same time because I didnt want to go in there to replace the radiator after they fixed the air and bump a line and screw it all up. They messed up and did just that. As I was driving along my power steering went out because they moved some lines and not only did the belt cut thru clear my power steering line, it almost severed the a/c lines as well. Side note, they never actually fixed the a/c. The power steering went out while I was driving down the highway and it was very scary. Also went out the 2nd time while up in the mountains! So I ended up taking it back to them 3 times to fix this new steering issue, i was without my vehicle for months. Then I finally took it somewhere else and had it done properly for $2,000. I tried to sue them for the money to cover the repairs but the owner on record has been deceased for the past 3 years and renewing the business license and everything while deceased, but since he is deceased so he cannot be served. So not only was I out the money for the initial repairs (and the a/c quit working with a couple weeks and I had to take it elsewhere to be repaired too) but also had to spend an additional $2,000 for the damage they caused to the power steering system.***Also my vehicle had been rummaged through while sitting on their side lot and stuff was stolen as well as blunt wrapper found and ash from where they had smoked inside my vehicle!!!!

Class act! These guys are always so pleasant and kind. They have even taken me back to work if I need to leave my car with them, even though it’s walking distance! I’ve never had a problem with any work they have done and have always had a pleasant experience with everyone I’ve dealt with. And if you don’t want to pump your own gas, they still have a full service pump and will gladly do it for you!

Did a top notch diagnostic, showed me everything with the vehicle on the rack, and called me every step of the way. Prices were reasonable especially considering the quality of the work. Dishonest, untrustworthy, unreliable. On the plus side, they were nice while they were being dishonest. However, niceness doesn’t mean you can overquote, lie and prove yourself to be untrustworthy. NEVER READ 5 STAR REVIEWS: likely made by them.They provide terrible and dishonest service. I asked for them to replace my power steering hose. They came back and told me, I had 10 things that needed to be done to my car, essentially making up services they could do such as replacing my good as new battery, etc. I told them, I’m here to replace my power steering hose. The guy responded that they don’t know where the leak is, so they will have to replace my power steering switch before they can determine whether they need to replace my hose. Replacing a simple switch cost me $325. 3 days later, my hose is still leaking. I took my car to a non-commercial mechanic. The non-commercial mechanic literally showed me where the leak was coming from- my hose. All this to say, the people at GULF are wickedly greedy. They will point out 10 nonexistent problems and won’t even fix them ABC problem you came for without saying “in order for me to fix the ABC problem, I have to fix the (nonexistent) XYZ problem. I understand that business is slow bc less people are driving due to corona, but that does not mean you take advantage of people who do come to you for your services.I doubt most of their “5-star reviews” actually came from their customers. Classic rule of thumb is if you really want to know how their services are, never read 5 star reviews, but only read reviews that are 4 stars and down

Im giving 5 stars because the cashier that night around 7:30p let me use the bathroom kindly without condemning me or judging me for not buying something; I didnt need to buy anything, I specifically stopped to use the restroom. If I were in the area again, I would make a point to come back and do business there. That is the difference because customer service that is genuinely hospitable and those that are not...they earn loyal customers. If I could remember his name I would write it but it was on December 14th at about 7:30pm. He should be given a raise and made to be assistant manager or something.

I highly recommend the service at Medlock Gulf! You can make an appointment or just show up and they will tell you if they can work you in right then or have you come back at a specific time. Very nice customer service and experts in the work they do!

I have been going here for several years. They are excellent. They always explain what it wrong, how long it will take to fix my car and the price before they start working on my car. They even offer transportation for anywhere I want to go while they are working on my car. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Medlock Gulf.

I brought my 2007 Civic in to get the air conditioner fixed. After about a week of the air conditioner not really working I brought the car back in for them to take a look. They figured out what the problem was and fixed the car for no charge even though there were additional parts and labor costs. Paul said that he appreciated my patience. I highly recommend Medlock Gulf.

Paul, the manager, and his staff do an excellent job with repair and maintenance of my car. They even have a shuttle to help me get my car there and get it back. So convenient! Paul the manager understands cars more than anyone I ever knew. I am an extremely pleased customer. Unlike the big places, his goal is to fix your car correctly, not gouge you like some places do. Very highly recommend!

My car broke down so I got it towed here since it was nearby and had good reviews. I dropped off my keys.So they basically recommended me to sell it since it would be thousands to repair. They charged me $112 for the diagnostic charge. Definitely did not feel good about1. not having a working car.2. being charged that much without knowing first that I would be charged.I left having to tow that back to my place. So pretty much lost hundreds of dollars for nothing. And no working car.

The mechanics are nice, but myself and other members of my family have received extremely high quotes here. Most recently I went and they told me I needed to change my brake pads. I went to my usual mechanic who is far away but I trust. They not only quoted me $100+ less, but they also told me I still had 4 mm left on my pads. I know most mechanics will try to up sell you, but this just felt plain dishonest.

My Nissan Altima Hybrid would not start I had it towed to Medlock Gulf and they started working on it right away. Joe did a diagnostic and explained to me in depth the issues with the car. During the process of the repairs he kept me informed from start to finish. Joe and the staff at Medlock Gulf are very honest, professional, and knowledgeable. Their prices are reasonable and fair. Solid auto mechanic. Diagnosed a break problem our regular mechanic couldnt seem to fix. Now we are regular customers. :-) Staff are friendly, knowledge, and professional. The shuttle service is very convenient. Their prices feel a little high at times, but then again, you get what you pay for.

So I have been using Karl & Paul to take care of our vehicles for years.I have noticed compared to other shops they may be a bit more in price,but I look at it like this you get what you pay for. I know they install high qualityparts and the service is awesome. If there is ever a problem with a part, they standbehind there warranty. I am willing to pay for the peace of mind, knowing the job is doneproperly and in a timely manner. Always happy here!!!

While no one wants to pay money to get a vehicle fixed, it is a necessary part of owning a car. Great service and super convenient location! As a woman, I am normally pretty uncomfortable at car repair places. Either they are patronizing me when I ask questions, hitting on me, or just being rude. Not at this place. They are friendly and competent. They do a really good job. Also, the location is perfect. I drop off my car and hang out in Starbucks and do work or visit the shops. But they will give me a ride home if I need it, too!

On two separate occasions, Ive had slow leaks in my tires from running over nails around construction sites. Both times, they have fixed my tires in under 30 minutes while I waited and was able to continue to work early in the morning. Great and fast service.

I LIKE taking my truck to Medlock Gulf, can you say that about taking your vehicle to any mechanic?What you are going to find here is honest people who are only going to do what you ask them to.They always seem to have coupons in the Decatur Dispatch.They are a bit busier now than since I first discovered them, but they still always have time for me and know me by name.

They will never do more than you want them to, they will tell you honestly what needs to be fixed now and what can wait, they look for ways to save you money on repairs, they keep you informed about the work on your vehicle, they know what theyre doing, and they stand behind their work. THIS JUST HAPPENED YESTERDAY: 04/15/2020............ THEY SOUNDED GOOD ON THE PHONE, I ASKED THEM TO DO 1 THING, AND I TRULY DONT KNOW WHAT THEY DID, BUT MY CAR WAS DRIVEN IN DOING OVER 70/80 MPH,WITH 1 PROBLEM AND PAUL CALLED ME SAYING I HAD 8/9 OTHER PROBLEMS, MY CAR WOULDNT GO IN REVERSE, AND IT WOULDNT I COULDNT GO OVER 32 MPH. PAULS EXPLANATION WAS MY CAR WENT INTO LIMP MODE. NOW WHAT I HAD IN MIND TO PAY FOR THE 1 THING, NOW I HAVE TO PAY A LOT MORE FOR OTHER STUFF THAT THEYRE RESPONSIBLE FOR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THIS IS NOT TRUSTWORTHY, AND THEYRE / PAUL IS A LIAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I WISH I COULD GIVE THIS PLACE A QUARTER OF A STAR !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

These guys are expert, fast, and flexible. I have been taking our two Volvos to Medlock for last two years, and have never had anything but a great experience there. Theyll warn you when it looks like something will need to happen soon, like new brake pads. However, there is never a up sell to try to get you to buy things you dont need, or get service before its time. From fixing flats to major engine repair - I wouldnt go anywhere else.

The guys at Medlock Gulf are exceptional! They are so nice and convenient and polite, they are a no frills service with great quality! I went in a few weeks ago to get a light bulb fixed, they fixed it right there it took them not even 15 minutes. After a week or two it went out and I called back and they said no problem come on in whenever and well fix it free of charge! At the same time I also wanted two new front tires, most places would have just agreed right away since that can be a pricey job but not Medlock Gulf, these guys came right up to me and told me I didnt really need tires at all. I ended up getting new tires for the age of the actual tires but these guys were so honest with me and were more concerned about my wallet and car than their paychecks. I am so impressed with this company, they do exceptional service!

Overall this is a convenient place. The courtesy shuttle is fantastic. Before I ever had major work done, they had done things like top off my coolant for free. I had brake work done and the price was comparable to a quote I got elsewhere. It was speedy and the courtesy shuttle helped immensely. Im giving 4 instead of 5 stars because one time they missed something on my 27 point inspection, but overall this is now my go-to place. I used to use K&M for everything, but theyre inconvenient and too busy.

I moved to ATL in 2011, and my car got banged up on the drive down here. From the very first time I met the staff at Medlock Gulf, theyve been kind, professional, honest and forthright mechanics. Anytime Ive had something going on with my vehicle, theyre always available to take a look at, give me a reasonable estimate upfront and get it back to me real fast. Theyve also driven me back to campus after I dropped my car off at the shop. The kind of service you might expect from a dealership, but without having to drive up to Chamblee. I recommend this place to all my friends, and you should def check it out.
