Updated review: There was a sewage smell in my home on and off; someone came out and after @30min of looking around, I was quoted @$2,000 of work because it was definitely cracked pipes under the home. They were going to jackhammer my basement, remove hvac stuff, the whole 9-yards... So just to be safe, I had another local company come in 5 days later... within 5min he found a dry trap (picture of missed trap below). It cost me almost nothing and he fixed it with a cup of water. They were on time, friendly, and did a lot of looking around, but this miss almost cost me big.

I will start off saying that this is just about the nicest company I have worked with. The representatives who call you to schedule and manage the appointment could not be nicer and they help you setup a service call ASAP.Unfortunately I have had 2 subpar experiences with actually getting my issues resolved. The first was a leak we had in the ceiling above our dining room. The technician said he could not identify the leak without cutting a large hole in the ceiling (for an expensive price) and we would have to hire a different company to fix the hole after the repairs were done. We had another company come and they were able to find and fix the issue by cutting a quarter-sized hole that I was able to fix myself.Recently we had technicians come because our AC would not start. I knew it was an electrical issue because the fan and heat also would not start, but all they wanted to do was sell me an entirely new unit. I had a different company come out the next day and they identified that it was a broken control panel in about 5 minutes. The second company replaced that control panel and it has been working great since. The AC unit is old and I know I need to replace it soon, but Culpeper Home Services only seemed interested in replacing it immediately, not fixing the current issue to get my family through these last few weeks of heat.It seems like most other reviews are very positive so it is possible I just got unlucky these two times. This company has been great to work with and they schedule you fast, but if they quote you a high price I would definitely think about getting a second opinion.

Nick Tama was professional and got the job done quickly! We lost power to 4 outlets in one room and he had the problem fixed in 20 minutes, very happy with his service!The only reason I did not give 5 stars was we had an appointment scheduled for a Friday and they contacted me at 5pm the day of to tell me they couldn’t make it today because all the techs were busy, then didn’t have another appointment for 6 days.

Daniel Miller is the most nicest technician went ever can across, he took time with us explained everything. I just cant say enough about him. Im so excited to work on our next project together. I hist my house completely with him. Thank you Daniel. Cant wait until you replace our entire unit.

I had Stephen come out on a Thursday and he determined I needed quite a bit of work done and fast. That Monday I had Mason, Jonathan B & Jonathan M and some other gentlemen out to do a whole days worth of work outside and under my crawlspace. They were all friendly and answered any questions we had and left all areas worked in as if they were never here. From scheduling to completion everyone I dealt with was awesome.

Loved being able to book online, great online correspondence and someone called me directly when the tech was on his way. Got an email with tech information so I knew who to expect. All COVID precautions followed, I really appreciated the tech wearing a mask and being respectful in my home. Tech was very knowledgeable, thorough and explained things for me to understand. Communicated what he was doing beforehand so we were on the same page. I got an email with all information and photos for my records. Very impressed with the company and will definitely use again.

Jay was one of the most professional people I have had a pleasure of dealing with in a service trade. He took the time to explain everything making us feel like we mattered and that we were not getting a run around. He communicated through the entire process not only what was being done but the costs so we were not shocked at the end. They have my service for as long as I’m here in this home.

The office called at 2:20 to tell me he wouldn’t be coming. The window of arrival was from 2-6pm. Took the day off work to meet him. Very impressed with the service provided. The team that handles the phones are extremely professional and a pleasure to speak with and things just improved from there. The day of my service I received the call to confirm the tech was on the way just as they said I would and also received a bio with picture for Mason who would be performing the work (great touch for both general info but also security). Mason did a great job informing me of what he could and could not do and did an excellent job installing the new spigot and also cleanup after the work. Theyve definitely won my service going forward.

Overnight our hot water heater broke leaking a mess so we called before 9am and they showed up at 11am! Thats fast when you are not scheduled and on a Friday! Dakota (a master plumber) and his apprentice quickly evaluated that our tank had burst and the whole water heater needed replacing. We discussed the options between a basic model with a one year warranty for $2500 (parts and labor included), or a commercial grade unit with a 6 year warranty that is transferable when we sell our house in 3 years for $300 more (which we went for.) Dakota dashed out, got the new unit and removed our old broken one, installed the brand new heater. Hooked it up, tested it and was very professional and gone before 2:30pm! They wore masks, were friendly and excellent in every way. Thanks Guys! And our water was hot again in less than 6 hours after we called!!!

We really liked the customer service we were provided every step of the way. The company was responsive to our questions and everyone that showed up to work at our home was very respectful and nice. They worked hard to get the job done. They cleaned up everything (even stuff that wasnt theirs) before leaving, which was very helpful to us! I would have liked them to finish the job in the original time frame they gave us, but understand things happen. This also did not allow us to have been properly introduced to our new thermostats, which were now all digital and we would have liked to have been walked through the basics before they left. These guys are on the ball! I called on a Wednesday and by Friday I had a new HVAC system. While here, Larry noticed my water heater was old and may not last much longer which I had been concerned about as well. Within hours, I also had a new water heater! My mother and I are extremely pleased with the service we received from Culpeper Home Service. We initially thought our kitchen sink had a clogged drain. Fortunately, Stephen and Mason jumped in quickly to find that our approximately 70 year old galvanized pipes were filled with corrosion. Stephen actually showed us the pipe which we appreciated. They both installed new PVC piping where it was needed. In addition, they installed a new toilet and a new vanity combo. Their workmanship is exceptional. Ive hired many different contractors over the years--most with inflated egos and less than satisfactory work. But a couple of years ago I gave Culpeper Home Services a try and what a pleasant surprise! Within the past few months Ive had several plumbing issues--the first couple were basement pipe leaks that Dakota came out and fixed. He was great! The last project was putting in a new water line from my well to my house which Stephen and Mason installed. And they were fantastic also! All of these guys were courteous, friendly, and professional. And the company was always quick to schedule service so I was never without water for more than a few hours. I really appreciate having a reliable company that I can count on for future repairs!

Had this company out to my house for the 2nd time different issues this time was for a low water pressure issue. When the tech left, the water pressure was better than ever. Highly recommend.

We had Nick come out to do our electrical work; including fixing dead wiring in one outlet, switching a two prong outlet to a three prong outlet, installing a Ring doorbell and switching a transformer that was out of date. He was on time, very nice and explained everything as he was doing it. We had the choice of what we wanted done, and he was up front about the prices.We had Jason out the following day to work on plumbing issues; toilets running, sink stopper to be installed, shower fixture to be replaced, and water heater. We got most of it done, and it couldve all been done same day, but we are going to do the last bit when we fully renovate the bathroom, as that will be easier. Again, same as with Nick, Jason was very knowledgeable, nice, on time, explained everything, did a fantastic job, and was upfront with pricing. Both of these guys were very fast, and efficient. The customer service line is 24/7, and they fit you in ASAP. They email the reminder the day before, call you when they are on the way, and send you a text that includes a bio and photo of your technician, with a GPS tracker to show them on their way. These guys are great and we were very impressed. We chose them because of the 5 star rating, and we couldnt agree more. We are nothing but extremely satisfied with this company.

We had an emergency this morning. We woke to no water in our house. I contacted Culpeper Home Services first thing in the morning and they were out here by 8:15 am.Mason and Jonathan were prompt, professional and courteous. Not on time, lied about giving before leaving house (did not get one) lied about free estimate charged $50 dollars and called it gas fee (probably a estimate fee which they had no intention of doing wow), the estimate was for a thankless water heater I have, but then it was decided they could not install it, they could bait and switch and sell a 50 gallon water for around $2700, no thanks keep my 40 gallon or could sell me one of their thankless for around $4500

Donnie Starr and Thomas Shawaryn did a fantastic job. I asked for an estimate to add a new 230v outlet for a welder and they discovered a problem right when I opened the box. There was a buzzing noise coming from one side of the panel which Donnie believes was probably a result of a ligtning strike that had occurred at a previous point in time. The neutrals and negatives were also ganged up on the same bar which Donnie recommended be redone to be within code.As a result of their recommendations, I had the main breaker replaced, new neutral bars added, and a 2-2-2-6 line for my welder installed. The parts were ordered and work done the very next day. Pricing and work were first rate.I would highly recommend Culpeper Home Services to anyone looking for electrical work.

Jason and the entire CHS team were great. Very knowledgeable, professional and talked through all my options without sales pressure. Along with that, the price was very fair. Already hired them for a second project at my home.

Terrible experience. Representative came out and diagnosed the problem, quoted over $8000 to fix it. Knowing that his fix was a terrible idea, I contacted two other plumbers who recommended a different (reasonable) solution. One of them did it for $1000. To top it off, the CHS rep pulled my toilet and didnt set it correctly, causing a water leak and damage to my basement. They will never come within 100 yards of my front door again.

Very satisfied with this service. Our heat pump gave out after 30 years. Jay came out the same morning and diagnosed the problem. Not wanting to put money into the old system, he gave us a price on a new one without any hard sell. Austin and Jonathan installed it the next day and stayed until it was done, including diagnosing a problem with the thermostat. We are warm and happy!

We loved our serviceman Mason!!!We have had a nightmare experience with water backing up into our lower level for over a week. We had 6 different plumbers come out to assess the situation and provide quotes. One company charged us $1,500, and couldn’t identify the break in the line.... our plumber from CHS (Mason) showed up and immediately knew the issue. He pulled out his locator tool and camera, and was quickly able to see the break, and find exactly where it was. He was able to do this at a fraction of the cost as well!Such a nice young man- very polite and courteous- he’s sure to go far in his career and build a great client base!

Jason also descaled our tankless water heater as well. He was very professional and did a great job. He was extremely knowledgeable and explained to us, everything that he was doing. I’m a DIY man for almost everything, but this was an electrical issue at my fiancé’s house so I didn’t want to take any chances on something that could be a safety issue. I chose this company because of their good ratings, and I’m glad I did. While they were here, they also took care of a plumbing issue for a very reasonable price. Unbelievably great service! I called them on a Wednesday afternoon, and by Thursday at lunchtime Jason Richard and Mason were fixing our hot water heater and sump pump. They were incredibly professional, very reasonably priced, and great to work with. I know almost nothing about plumbing, and they were really easy to talk to (and very nice to explain everything in detail). My water heater was leaking water so I called because they were so highly recommended to me. My first impression was when I called the office. They were so friendly and helpful. My technician arrived on time and I got to “meet” him before he arrived. They sent me a picture and a bio before he arrived. Sometimes the little things mean a lot.Jason was super friendly and showed me everything about my water heater and didn’t try to pressure me to go bigger or buy more. My water heater was replaced the same day I called to have them come check it out. Highly recommend.

Stephen and Mason were very professional and friendly. The time turnaround from when I called was amazing. They were out the next day to provide an estimate and investigate what was going on with my septic pump not automatically kicking on and the alarm going off. They diagnosed the problem and scheduled time to fix everything the next day. Unfortunately the job and fix was bigger and more costly than originally anticipated. However, Stephen and Mason explained all the issues in detail, what needed to be fixed, and still had everything resolved by end of day. I am happy with the level of service and the repairs from Stephen and Mason. I would recommend Culpeper Home Services and use them again in the future.

I have asked a lot from this company to include, redundancy in my sump pump, multiple ceiling fans both new installation and existing, new wiring, replacing light fixtures, installation of a septic friendly disposal, exterior and interior light fixtures, and exterior outlets. All of the work has been of the highest quality, their team is the most professional, dedicated staff I have ever worked with. They have a high level of work ethic and continued to communicate potential changes or asking for clarification in the job scope. They practiced safe protocols, and ensured the job site was thoroughly clean once the job was done. I consulted them in many other areas to include potential panel upgrade, installation of a spa and swimming pool and home generator. Chris and Alex did a great job on our kitchen lighting install. They replaced our hideous fluorescent box with modern recessed lights, and installed a new light fixture above the sink. They cleaned up wonderfully and were so quick! They also were very communicative of the whole process, and answered all my questions! Called on 23 DEC 2020 when I noticed a leak under the kitchen sink. Jason Richards came out the same day, diagnosed the problem, explained the cost before starting work and remedied the problem within an hour, Jason was friendly, wore the appropriate PPE, safeguarding my family, professional and competent. The leak was repaired in no time. I really appreciate Jasons prompt service and competence. I plan on using Culpeper Home Services again and discussed an upcoming electrical project with Jason for this spring or summer. He assured me that his company would be delighted to complete the project. 5 star service from a good company.

Stephen and Mason diagnosed a problem with a leak. We thought a pipe had burst. However, their professional, systematic review determined that the leak was caused by a malfunctioning dishwasher.  Stephen explained what the review would entail and kept me advised throughout the visit. I will definitely make Culpeper Home Services my go to service company in the future.

I was walking in my front yard on the evening of Aug.27, 2020 and I noticed that the metal lid to our water supply was no longer closed and that there was water underneath of it coming out. I immediately called the Town of Culpeper emergency number, (they are our water suppliers in our neighborhood Lakeview of Culpeper) They sent a technician out & he confirmed that there was a leak in our water line & that it was just constantly running. Easy enough I thought, just turn it off & fix it.... Well apparently it was leaking beyond the part that the T.O.C. is responsible for & then he proceeded to ask me if I wanted him to turn off our water or to leave it on. I was in a bit of shock at this point and asked him what I should do? I mean here it is 2020 and we are dealing w/ job loss, Covid19, as well as my children doing Virtual Learning from home. So he informed me that if I didnt turn the water off that it was going to keep running the bill up and if I did turn it off we would have no water.... What? I really was not sure what to do, so he recommended turning it off & that my plumber could come out & repair it & turn it back on. I was at a loss for words because I had no plumber and had recently cancelled our home warranty to cut down on bills. So after about an hour of deliberating I gave him the go ahead to turn our water off... My kids were HORRIFIED!!! I was beside myself because just the day prior our AC had stopped working & we were told we needed to replace the unit.The next morning my husband calls Culpeper Home Services and they said they could come out immediately. I had no idea what to expect, Im already waiting for 2 more HVAC companies to come out and give me estimates, its hot, we have no air conditioning and now no water, I have company & kids doing their school work at home, my patience left me a long time ago and here I am a woman w/NO KNOWLEDGE of any of this kind of stuff. So I am ready to be taking advantage of because of our dire need of water.Well here comes Mr. Stephen Johnson & his co worker Johnathan. I had a million questions and Stephen immediately made me feel comfortable and at ease with his understanding, knowledge, patience & just overall kindness. I am NOT a person who goes with the first option EVER.... nor do I make a choice without comparing reviews, quotes & prices but that day was was different... They went over everything step by step, walked me through it all & even gave me a referral for an HVAC company that they used. They were extremely professional, kind and very knowledgeable. Stephen even told me which grass seed I could get for the other parts of my grass that were barren. They showed me where the pipe was broken & leaking and replaced everything, covered the ground and hole back up and reseeded the yard and put hay on top of it & my grass now looks better than ever. Stephen & Johnathan did a WONDERFUL JOB & WOULD RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY HANDS DOWN!!!!

Donnie Starr, Mason, and Jonathan from Culpeper Home Services made our vision come to life. They professionally installed a new electrical panel, ran power & led lighting to a metal building, and tied in a large shed. All I can say is wow, what great work!Jason Richard and Mason expertly installed a frost proof yard hydrant. The work was so clean I hired them for a second job, vintage water heater replacement. Professional and high quality service. Matt Jenkins provided our diagnosis, we had a AC compressor blow on us which fried the electrical at the compressor and tripped the breaker. We wanted the indoor and outdoor breakers inspected and voltage tested before getting a new AC unit installed. Matt was great, got the breaker reset and let me see that all the voltage looked good and wiring looked fine.

First, I have to say I was a little skeptical when looking at all the 5 star reviews Culpeper Home Services has online. However, after completing the install of our new HVAC system a couple days ago, I can understand why. The level of service we received from CHS was top notch. This started 1 week ago when we realized our cooling system wasnt working properly. CHS sent someone (Daniel) out within 24hrs to check out our issue. Upon investigation and a thorough check, he discovered a massive leak in the A coil. Basically there was no freon left in the unit. Before leaving we had a quote in hand and by later that afternoon an install date for the following Tuesday. Tuesday came and the team (Jay, Austin and Mason) were out first thing am to remove the 21 year old equipment and start installing the new. By late afternoon it was complete and we were back up and running. Everyone with CHS was very kind, courteous and quick to explain any questions along the way. Being a commercial property manager in Central VA I deal with quite a few trades in my line of work. I only wish a quarter of my guys/gals showed this level of professionalism and dedication to their respective trades. We now understand why Culpeper Home Services is a 5 star company. Thanks again to Daniel, Jay, Austin, Mason and all the crew behind the scenes for help us out in our time of need!

Great experience. Jason stayed as long as it took to fix a leaking pipe in a very hard to reach area. We appreciated him staying into the evening to make sure our water was back up and running. Will definitely call again if we ever need plumbing services.

In need of an electrician after a failed do-it-yourself attempt to fix a light and a fan switch, I called Culpeper Home Services based on their good reviews. I called at 10:00 a.m., Matt Jenkins and Alex arrived within an hour, and an hour later two switches were replaced for a very reasonable price. Matt explained everything he was doing, made sure I understood how the circuit worked, and left me with the knowledge I need to replace it properly in the future. I could not be happier with the service.

The two guys that came out to repair our toilet were polite, professional, and knowledgeable.

Dakota was very professional. The problem was an outside faucet that was not winterized, which led to other issues which were quickly identified and fixed. Culpeper Home Services provides excellent value as well, and I will certainly use them in the future when problems inevitably arise!

Nick came today to fix the switch to the garbage disposal.No issues with the disposal, but the switch needed to be replaced.I was impressed with their reviews and so I booked them.He fixed it quickly and Id definitely use them again.

Called for a price on a HVAC system OMG these folks were awesome I got exlant service they stayed here about two hours maybe more but the went over my house with a fine tooth comb. I have had no heat for two years and now I have these awesome people that are going to put my HVAC system in on Saturday Im not excited I am crazy happy I will have heat in my house and wont have to worry about it anymore.....I am so happy I cant wait til Saturday

Matthew Jenkins came to our home and within no time was able to figure out our electric problems. He was very professional, courteous, and did not try to add any hidden charges or replacements. He fixed everything that was asked and gave good advice. Highly recommended technician. The entire staff setting up appointments and giving calls to keep us updated was very professional and great as well. Overall best service I have gotten since arriving in Stafford.
