I tried to switch services to save some money, but the lady was rude and unprofessional. She insisted that they dont provide service in my subdivision, even though they pick up my neighbors trash every Monday. She is obviously uninformed about their actual service area. Thanks to her and these insightful reviews, I am going to stick with Curbside/GFL. Its worth it for me to have the good customer service experience.

This is a HORRIBLE COMPANY. I must not get the money needed or get paid enough because these people hate their jobs. They have missed a whole week from picking up trash and won’t give more bins out. Expecting a home of a family to have 2 garbage bags in 2 weeks!! Walked up to the truck, literally have to chase them down I asked to talk someone. They pointed me to a guy named Joe with a low cut. No help at all an didn’t care. I recorded out while conversation and was called a “stupid b***”See you guys in court!

Friday June 4 2021 , I would like all reading to know that Monday is the usual pick up day and I am not complaining about a day or 2 delay as we did have Memorial day on Monday so its perfectly understandable that a slight delay is expected, but to tell me a paying customer that someone was sent and mine as well as the neighbors was picked up and all are full and still parked on the side of the road is not professional nor understandable and is very irritating because we reside behind the facility less than a quarter mile or the next road within walking distance,they offered to pick up extra on Monday??? Video will be on Yelp and a compaint(s) will be filed with the City of BBB and the Chamber of Commerce, this is Not the service we pay for, If youre short handed I could understand that ,but to tell me that someone came to pickup and either did not or lied to your staff ,the container have been there since Sunday night.

Dont use this company. They have so many rules and regulations and leave trash that you leave for them to pick up. You pay money for 2 cans and they cant simply do what you pay them for! They leave what doesnt fit so you have 2 full cans for another whole week. What sense does it make to have to call the day before simply bc you have extra bags? Just pick them up as thats what we pay you to do! Ill be finding a new company!

I signed up with this company last Thursday, so its been a week and a day since Ive had it. I was told on Thursday that someone would let me know once they found an available trash bin for my residence and theyd bring it by. I have not gotten a call regarding this issue, and I have been calling for the last 3 days... Sometimes the phone rings, sometimes it acts like its off the hook. This morning, it sounded like someone answered, hung up, and when I called right back it was off the hook again. Absolutely terrible customer service and I havent even had the chance to have my first trash pick up yet. Im going to go ahead and guess they wont do what an actual professional company would do and refund my money considering I havent had any service yet.

I have been attempting to call for two weeks now. I either get a busy signal, a ring until it turns to a busy signal, or on rare occasions a recording. No where online does it give you the option to cancel, adjust the number of cans, etc. all you can do is pay. This is highly frustrating… can’t even leave a message at this point.

From the customer service down to the pickup service is TRASH.They don’t value you as a customer even if you’ve had them for years!They increase their rate when they feel without notifying you!Might be a few bucks less than other people but I would strongly recommend you spend $2 more just so you get the service you paid for!I’m not sure how this kinda of business is still going. Customer service is horrible. They are way behind on delivering trash bins to new customers. For 3 weeks my neighbors trash is blowing over into neighbors yard.This is unacceptable. Loose trash attracts black birds and other pest/rodents. Before trash service pick up and after. They left trash on the ground.

If you use this company and they schedule an early route in your neighborhood they will not change it. The truck comes in my subdivision early Friday morning between 3:30am to 4am. The truck wakes me up every Friday morning and I cant go back to sleep. I have tried to get them to reschedule the route, but no one has budged. This is way too early for a route to be coming through a subdivision with over 100 homes. I am not sure why this route cannot be rescheduled later in the morning.

This company doesn’t even deserve 1 star. Very disrespectful and extremely unprofessional. Ignore customers that call about issues. Leaves garbage at customers property on garbage days repeatedly. Which is an inconvenience, since thats what they are paid to pick up. When called about Refused to address issue in an appropriate manner, I asked to be transferred to a manager. They hung up the phone and blocked my number. And I’m a customer! I will no longer continue my services with this company. Wouldn’t recommend this company to anyone. Please save the environment and don’t help them pollute 😊

I dont understand the negative reviews. Its a trash service. Pay your bill on time and take your can to the curb the night before they pickup and you shouldnt have any issues. Ive been using them since the county started charging for using the recycling centers. Ive never has an issue. I really dont get the bad reviews. Make sure your trash is in your can and no issues. If your filling the can where the lid doesnt close and animals dig in your trash well thats your fault for being cheap. Pay for a second can. Problem solved.

They took stuff out of my garbage cans and sprayed it onto the sidewalk and laughed about it. They also continue to park the trashcan behind my car so every time I get out of my car I had to move the trash. Poor poor poor service I will tell everyone on my street not to use them again

Poor customer service, truck driver #5 truck has nasty attitude and also staff inside office we had more trash than normal they refused to pick it up and left my bags stroll in my driveway, driver also told his co- workers on the trash truck to remember this pickup while I was on the phone with office staff and they dont care, but Ill be taking my services elsewhere

Extremely poor customer service. Rude on the phone. Does not return calls. Been trying to get service for weeks and left messages with no return call. Called and she told me they close in 7 minutes and I would have to call back. This is after leaving a message to tell them I wanted to use their service. Find another co pany. They dont care about your business. Would give no star or half but it wont let you do that.

In the beginning this was a great dependable company. I dont know what happened but that all changed, they always did pickups around 10:30 am. Over the last few months they have gotten later and later. Its now 5:30 PM on my pickup day and no Burgess! I can rarely ever get anyone on the phone, my antivirus program will not let me go to their website, it says dangerous. I want to have some idea when to put my can out and when to bring it in. Not with this company. Im ready to change companies, there are too many to put up with this!

Weve used Burgess for 18 years. They have raised their prices maybe once or twice and it was like a dollar each time. You could set your watch to them, same time every week rain or shine. Were moving to Monroe and am very sad to have to find another waste company. Hope theyre as good!

Always very helpful, never miss a pickup. They bill three months at a time very convenient. If you call to pay your bill they have your info on file, they just confirm your identity and bill to the existing info which is fast and painless.

I have been trying to cancel my service with them going on 2 months. How do you have a company thats phone disconnected and no other form of contact even on their website. This is ridiculous. I was literally walking down my driveway with can when the driver turned on my street. I wave at him and see him look at me. He then pulls his iPad up and looks like he takes a picture of the end of my driveway where I have not made it yet. Hits the gas and blows past me. I live in a cul-de-sac street and Im the first house. He then turns around and drives past me again as Im waiving at him. I call the office and speak to Lisa who didnt care one bit what the driver did and chuckled at me as she said Good luck finding someone else. Completely unprofessional but I guess thats the new world we live in. If the owner of this company reads this and it doesnt bother them then I guess it doesnt matter. There was a time when companies cared about your business. I guess Ill pay someone else my money. Please come get your can out of my yard.

I had a small bday party and put 3 extra bags outside, and they just left it there. I did this same thing a year ago, and they picked it up and advised me of the fee. It wasnt that they didnt get it...even tho thats a problem, but when I called you could literally HEAR the irritation in the reps voice in stead of apologizing, explaining the policy, and giving further steps on what to do! The lady interrupted me within my 1st sentence!! I hate that we have to pay trash fees in this county for them to barely pick up anything! Im so sick of it. I switched companies. Hopefully, things go a little better.

Okay, Ill admit when I was searching for Trash Pickup Services I read these reviews and seriously considered not picking this company. After reviewing reviews from others; Burgess still landed on top. Well...I signed up for services on 2/28/19 and was told my trash can wouldnt be delivered for at least two weeks; but I would still receive trash pick services if I sat the bags out. Not only did I receive service on 3/1/19 the following day; surprisingly, my trash can was delivered that same morning! So, I wanted to give this review for first timers like myself who may be very disturbed by the reviews of others who claim to not have received their trash cans or service for weeks. Im not saying their experience wasnt as they reported; I just want to give hope to the person who is considering this company. I received services when I was told I would. Also, my experience with customer services was great! The person I spoke with was warm, friendly, and professional. So far, Im thoroughly pleased.

That would be a zero and just signed up for service on 3-27-19. Paid for service over phone and the lady told me it might be a couple of weeks before we get our can. As of today we still have no can. Called on 4-16-19 and the lady told me they would try to get the can there that day if not no later than Friday 4-19-19. Poor customer service and how hard is it to get a can to a house when they come by once a week.

Just use Republic. They are unprofessional and dont pick up trash that should be picked up. Ive had them for over 10 years but after todays debacle I am switching to a different company.They have non-existent customer service. You never know when theyre going to pick up. And they never tell you prior to a holiday what the schedule will be. Its a guessing game with them.

Burgess is a excellent hauling company, Ive been their customer since 2006, within the 10 years of service I had to cancel for about 6 month, when called to restart services there was a discrepancy about the return of the garbage can that was resolved immediately. Prices are so reasonable and havent change in the last 10 years, Im able to pay for the year in advance.

Please do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY from this company. They start off good then after a few months they start missing scheduled pickups. They fail to pick up my trash at least once a month. When I call to inform them they say a driver will come back but they never do. They do not credit you for the inconvenience they do not seem to care. I put my trash to the road the night before every week and their is no reason to miss my house. Their are other companies out there. If you choose them anyways you will regret it. STAY AWAY!

I have been with Burgess for over a year its hard getting them on the phone and they dont followup with their clients needs.For 2 weeks in a roll they left my Garbage on the side of the road without given any explanation after I had just given them payments weeks before also I just referred a new custom to them around about a month ago since then my experience have changed and I will never refer another person to the company again.

If you can get anyone to answer the phone, they still wont be of any help. I have paid them for services already and still have not even received a trash can (over a month later). The pickup hours was changed by the company and NOT SHARED (they could have put it on October 2018 invoice) with the customer (now you have to have your trash out the night before pickup or by 4a the morning of). I put my trash out at 4:44a as I saw the trash truck passing my house and turning on to the next street. Trash is suppose to be put out the night before or by 5a the morning of. I called the office and left a msg informing the pickup was earlier than scheduled. I received apologies and informed my trash would be picked up next week and couldn’t be picked up today. I asked to speak to a manager and informed she wasn’t in. I asked the customer service lady if I could have the name of the manager that would be calling me back and I was told they couldn’t provide her name. What the hell! So I asked for the owners name (that was provided) but I was told she probably wouldn’t be the one calling and wasn’t sure if management would call me today due to meetings. I’m very big when it comes to customer service and I’m not happy with the fact they didn’t share the change in pickup time with customers and now I have to wait another week. An apology isn’t worth its weight when the business is WRONG and doesn’t seem to be interested in picking my trash up TODAY for an error done on their part!

The worst customer service I have had with this company. My trash has not been picked up fr two Mondays and all I am getting is excuses upon excuses. I paid my 3 months in advance last week to begin service, Driver did not pick up my trash... I received a bunch of excuses from these unprofessional in their office.. Holiday schedule for Monday before Thanksgiving and my trash is still not picked up.. so why did he come to my subdivision, picked up everyone else trash and they are now telling me on the phone that his truck is full and the landfill is closing early today... I let their first screw up go, but not today. During one of the holiday pickups I placed my can out at the road the same time I always did 5am and noticed later that day my trash was still there. I called to make sure they would come get it. The guy assured me that they would come to my neighbourhood later that day. I called back just before they closed and he said they had not made it yet but would still come. THEY NEVER CAME! I called back and never could get in touch. My trash continued to pile up over the next week waiting on the next pickup.Fast forward to 8 months later and they put a notice that I did not pay my bill and my service would end. I asked my wife if she paid the last bill and she said yes so I though nothing more about it. Then the next week my trash was left behind. I called and they said I did not pay and owed a late fee also. I had a bank statement showing I had paid on time with their stamp on it and accepting it. The office manager who was rude and unapologetic didnt beleave me and wanted me to drive over to her and prove it. We had our bank prove it to her that our money was deposited to their account. What kind of accounting practices do they have over there? When I asked when they would come get our trash because of their mistake she lost it and scream I dont know and then came back with later that day. Done!
