Great quiet place to escape the craziness! Sunrise from your own balcony, right on the North Beach. Have really enjoyed it here!

I do not recommend. Pictures are very deceiving. Theres hanging wires in the walk ways. The condo smells awful of mildew and other funk. The price is fair, but they should be doing so much more to improve the area. The building is in dire need of a major overhaul. Maybe theyre still recovering from the winter freeze but its almost August. Other places seem to be doing fine. We reserved for 10 days but halfway through just couldnt take it anymore so decided to go stay someplace else for the second half of our trip. Ill take the loss (total loss for current stay and an additional $800 for a second room) in order to have a better place to stay...but totally worth it.We did find a much nicer place about 30 minutes away. The beach at the new hotel is better too. DO YOUR RESEARCH before booking at Villa Del Sol.*Update: we did get a partial refund for $300 which helped offset the additional lodging costs.

We stayed is Suite #2305 the room was clean and it had everything that we needed, It was in a Great location in Front of the Beach, with full beach View, the Suite is on the 3rd floor with stairs right outside of it, we didn’t mind walking up and down from them, so didn’t used the elevator, the complex is gated and kept locked at all times, so didn’t worry about our car, like other reviews. Pictures are from balcony of the suit.

The property itself needs updating and there were a lot of construction going on to the individual condos. The fitness center onsite was being worked on so it was closed. Loved that they had a heated pool but it was small for the amount of people wanting to swim. The other pool was larger but was not heated and the shower to rinse off was not working. The condo we stayed in (Flip Flop Retreat) was awesome! The owners provided everything you needed and was a great view of the ocean and close to the beach!

Nice relaxing stay. Not too touristy made it seem more relaxing. Our host was very accommodating.

**STAY AWAY from unit 1215 or any units owned by Bob Canfield/Jerry Bertrand unless they make MAJOR renovations, cleanings, and updates to this unit!! Dirty, in disrepair and smells bad!!**Villa Del Sol is close to the beach, but it does seem to be in a run-down area of town (trashy roadways/gutters, vacant lots, deteriorating area). In the mornings, we had the beach all to ourselves, as the people here seem to be more afternoon/night-time oriented. The North Beach specifically seems fine and our kids enjoyed playing in the ocean. Close enough to walk to the Lexington and Texas State Aquarium.Ira at the Villa Del Sol front desk was very helpful and polite! He tried to fix the problems our terrible condo-owners had made. Check-out was very easy. The fitness center was closed for renovations, the washing machines in our building were out-of-order, and the pool was filled with debris and the skimmers were broken but it was very warm.Other neighboring units seemed in better condition (than Unit 1215). Just make sure you know exactly what your are renting. If the owners do not respond to you before your trip, then be wary!!

This place is great to be close to the beach with easy walk on access. Alot of the owners and the property itself rent them. Air bnb is where I find them. This one was well designed and remodeled. The property is older and needs some maintenance done the elevator was not working for our building and we had someone disabled with us and we are on the third floor. Parking lot needs redone but the do have free covered parking that was well maintained. They make it easy for delivery but the local construction can make it hard to get in and out of the island.

Beware think twice before staying...their exit gate slashed our front tire and ended up needing to get it replaced. Informed and filed incident report to property manager Andrea Hernandez but she and her upper board of directors show lack of concern and took no responsibility to reimburse for our damage. Due to poor maintenance and neglect it caused us inconvenience of our time and out of pocket extra unnecessary expense. Stay at your own risk it might cost you couple flat tires or two!!!

Room 1326…This place is DIRTY. Our sheets were not clean, they had white crusty substance. We had to clean the windows, looked like a dog was licking them all day. The fan had 2 inches of dust, floor had lots of dirt and sand and wasn’t mopped, the vents have inches of dust as well.Our room was way smaller than the description and someone stole all our shoes. The beach is walking distance but it’s the bay so it’s very rocky.

The staff are excellent, and the amenities are excellent.If you would like to hang out and go directly to the beach, do it.If you have a project in Corpus for work, why wouldnt you stay on the beach?The Villa Del Sol is a great place to either lay low or have a family holiday.

Its conveniently located on North Beach. The staff works hard at upkeep, and I like the renovation to the patio area by building 2. Speaking of building 2, the elevator goes down on a regular basis, so be prepared to take the stairs at any given moment. There are swimming pools at buildings 1 and 3. The pool at building 1 is heated, so swimming is pretty much possible year round.

Great location, down from the Lexington. This is my 1st time at North Beach, and it was very clean with plenty of parking. The condos are all privately owned and we booked through AirBnB. The only issue was an unexpected parking fee for guests.

We stayed for business at a condo managed by scammers. The owners can’t possibly know what is taking place. Our belongings were molded at the end of our stay due to several leaks in the building. Construction goes on all night. Couldn’t sleep due to continuous noise! Someone damaged our vehicle while parked on the property & had nerve to leave a rude note on the windshield. Do not stay in 1205! It needs a lot of repair & was flagged as fraud on a few platforms. They will not return your deposit, will lie about any situation to keep your money. It was so much car theft in the area, the gated community is the best amenity! Nice view of the beach!

Great place to get away!

THIS PLACE IS NASTY! The elevator is tiny and has so much mold in the vent, the buttons are not even the same and you feel like it could break down at any point. The apartments just look dirty and like they are about to fall apart. Although the inside of our room was nice, it was infested with roaches. When we contacted the owner she offered a 20% refund for the infestation and got 2 people to spray, but we only received a 10% refund. DO NOT waste your money or time at this place.

I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to stay withing walking distance of the beach and the USS Lexington ship. The rooms are very opened and spacious for a family of 4. I would definitely stay here again, thanks for allowing me and my family to stay during 05/03/21-05/05/21 in condo 1310. Thanks btaylor for setting this up for my family and I to stay as we greatly enjoyed our time here!

The room was really nice and very clean but the condo itself is very dingy and gross. The elevator(their is only 1 per building) is gross and extremely tiny. You can fit 3 people very cramped with no luggage or 2 people very cramped with luggage. The elevator is also kinda messed up, its still moving by the time the door opens. The 2 button on the elevator is also broken, I dont even know if it actually works because we stayed on the 3rd floor. Their were broken lights and by that I mean long wires hanging from the ceiling where the light should have been. I pretty sure they were live wires as all the other lights in the hallway were on. People were slamming doors at 11 oclock at night.

I have a family of 8 and we stayed here at villa del Sol!. It was right on the beach and that was fantastic! Its not a 5 star rating and its not a 4 star rating its average 3. However we were not very in tune with staying in the Room. Theres a lot to see and a lot to do in Corpus Christi and in padre island so we were out and about! My children loved staying on the 3rd floor-going out to the balcony (though you do have to watch the balcony because it is a little scary when it comes to safety and smaller children) but with good parenting you can make it through it and do it without anyone being harmed her getting Injured! Were gonna go back every year.The location of villa Del Sol is in a good spot to be able to get wherever you want to go with lots of stuff to see . Though we stayed a week with 7 nights it was real nice and it was enough Room for my family ages from 2 years all the way to 54.So if 8 people can stay there comfortably, get along, while having fun it is the place to be. You can get out about and do all you want and do as much as you can in a short period of time from this location.My kids love the Room and the beach. They also love feeding the birds from the top floor. Take a look at the pictures we had a lot of fun. For an adventure vacation where we were not in the Room very much this is where you want to be. if youre looking for a 5 star hotel this wouldnt be it - but affirming adventure vacation this is a place to go because the price is right and you are close to everything you want to do. So as we say in Tulsa live go get you some villa del Sol and have A-blast !

This place was definitely oversold. The parking lot was congested, the stairwells all had a moldy smell, several areas of the exterior of the building were damaged with rotted boards exposed, and that was only the exterior. The beds seemed like they were just remade after the last guests as there was hair in 2 of the beds, sand in one of them and the linens for the cheap futon were stuffed into a damp and musty smelling box, the room smelled like it hadnt been cleaned, the sliding door to the patio would not close all the way, and worse of all, there was an electrical outlet hanging out of the wall with exposed wires. There was nothing about North Beach that was welcoming, inviting or even enjoyable to look at. The only benefit of this place was that it was close enough for a day trip to mustang island. For the price of this place, it is in no way shape or form worth it. Unsafe, unsecure, unclean, crowded and the whole place smelled. Never again.

Clean room with plenty of towels, kitchen was stocked with essentials. They have coffee, stove, fridge, dishes. Very nice place right on the beach. The wind never stops blowing. The room had a balcony with chairs and table.

This place is a dump. Would not recommend staying here. It is way overpriced and it was filthy dirty and full of mold and mildew so it stinks and we got sick from it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It looks nicer in the picture than in reality. My advice do your research and skip this place.

First impression place was run down, compared to the pictures. The neighborhood was a little sketchy with a homeless guy passed out and his pants around his ankles, just a block away. The hallways are poorly lite with many dark corners. After opening the door I was greeted by a by a dead roach. The beds and the room its self appeared clean.

The room was small. The 🚽 instead of pushing down the handle to flush it, you pull it like a lawnmower. The lights dont work, no cable 📺. The elevator buttons are confusing, push the open button to go 1st floor. The close button for 3rd. The 2nd floor button is broken. It takes forever for the elevator because its so slow, should I say more?

We went with my daughter and son-in-law. The condo was cozy. Most everything we needed was there including a blender to make margaritas. There was plenty of space for sleeping. We found it on Airbnb so be sure to look it up. Great rate. The place has a gym, heated pool, regular pool, and hot tub. Just walk out the back gate onto the beach. Just watch for jellyfish. Great food in the area as well. Cant wait to be there again.

DO😢😢😢 NOT RECOMMEND.....✝️ When you spend your hard earned money at a place such as Villa Del Sol you expect professional courtesy..all was ok until the spike exiting the property punctured my tire..did not back up wenr forward...after leaving property 5 minutes later A FLAT TIRE on 181hwy near Indian point...two punches were found on tire...cleary people at Walmart said tire was slashed...we have no enemy first time visiting VILLA DEL SOL...went back with pix and gave incident report...manager said nothing they could do..when clearly the pictures exposed that incident happened on their property....beware of the leaving this property and management care...🙏🙏😢😢😢😓😓😓😓

Meh. Overall, they are working on updates. The buildings are in various states of repair. Inside our unit was cute, but old damaged baseboards and ceiling had what appeared to be black mold. It was cheap and close to the beach. There were a few pools. They werent too dirty. Floor plan was awkwardly small. They say max capacity of 6. We had 4 (2 of them were children), so I honestly cannot fathom how 2 more would fit. Overall, definitely not my favorite place I have ever stayed, but probably not the worst either.

This place is a dump. Elevator wasnt working . My rooms floor was sticky and smelled like mold. This place is super ghetto. Bed was lumpy and sheets stank. I spent $374. And did not stay there. I wasnt able to get my money back.

Amazing view. Quaint place

It was not what I expected. I went on the trip this past weekend to get away and relax because I was on a break from chemo. We ended up on 3rd floor with broken elevator and my sisters knees are bad. My knee ended up giving me issues as well from going up and down the stairs. The host was nice, but Id never waste my money on that place again. It wasnt clean as I was told and we didnt have a sofa bed. Trying to find the room was confusing because of the different buildings. Only good thing about it is the beach is right there..

It is really bad there are cockroaches and little bugs I couldn’t sleep the whole night it was so bad the only decent this is the beach view

My family and I stayed here for a month and two weeks Due to my husband working 45 miles north from Corpus Christi. Each condo is privately owned so pricing will vary. We stayed in room 1123 owned by Irene and Randy they were great, understanding and easy to work with. They have their condo well taken care of, fully furnished well decorated with a fun theme.We enjoyed Villa del Sol amenities which are the 2 pools, 4 BBQ areas, private parking lot, fitness room, business center, conference center. We visited both pools mainly the pool in the first building. It was well taken care of. They tried really hard to keep it clean for the next morning. For the most part it was clean aside from the feathers that feel down from old birds flying above. I checked out the fitness room it is really outdated it’s mainly weights, the only bicycle that was there was broken not usable. We did not use the barbecue area. The parking lot is okay i felt safe living my truck unsupervised by me. They do have night security so I wasn’t worried. One thing though the elevators do need to be updated I know they said they were in the process of doing that.The best feature is that the beach it is literally our backyard I enjoyed the beach when I wasn’t on jellyfish patrol. We have a three-year-old son so I was scared because every time we went to the beach we seen 2 to 3 jellyfishes. This was our first experience ever at the beach and also with the jellyfishes. If You are lucky enough you might find washed up jellyfishes on the sand so be careful when you are walking on the beach.

Clean, secure older facility near USS Lexington. Pool is very well maintained. The exit driveway can be intimidating.

This would be a really nice place to stay if the elevators in two out of three buildings worked. Carrying ice chest, luggage, and groceries up 3 flights of stairs is not my idea of a vacation. There are no ground floor rooms! So pack everything lightly.I don’t mind getting my steps in everyday but forced on vacation is not exactly fun. I also got charged a $25 pet fee. First of all, I didn’t take a pet, and secondly, I was told no pets are allowed. Crazy!

We booked our Condo through TJ’s Condominiums and although the rooms were a bit small for our family of 6 I must say we were more than pleased with our visit! They had more than enough in the room to accommodate our stay.

They lock you out of rooms at 7am even though check out is at 11am and then tell you they cant help you get in. They stole my purse, my wallet, my clothes, and my time.

Had a great stay 3 nights very clean and well kept... Staff very friendly and helpful.... Right on the beach which was never crowded... Had a condo #2319 large with possibility to sleep 4 adults and 2 children...

Great place to stay.. we rented it through airbnb and our host is great.. we had some issues at the beginning but it was taken care of pretty well... they just need to make sure they fix the elevator b/c going to the 3rd floor using the steps was not fun.

We rented a condo through air bnb for a weekend getaway. The condo itself was very nice and clean but the outside areas needed some updates. The elevator was very old and made weird noises. We were so afraid it was going to break on us. The pools were DISGUSTING! Which was a huge bummer because we were really looking forward to them. They were so cloudy you could barely see the bottom and there was algae all over the walls. Yuck! They shouldn’t have been open. So unsanitary. The views were nice but the beach had lots of shells in the sand and jellyfish everywhere. We still made the most of it but we probably won’t come back unless these things are dealt with.

Not sure where these 5 Star reviews are coming from, all I can say is they must have very, very low expectations...This place is the pits.Old, Rundown just plain Nasty.Unit 2203 NOTHING like what was portrayed online, AC only works 50%, Fridge no water no ice, no sleeper couch. AC filters have not been changed for 12 months at least. Dirty utensils, Musty bathroom and shower...The only positive is that is close to the beach, and thats it...PLEASE! Do yourself and your family a huge favour and go elsewhere, youll regret booking at Villa Del Sol...

This is a really cool place for a weekend getaway at the beach. You get a great room that is actually a full house that will sleep 6 people comfortably. Fully furnished with all necessities you need except the food that you can prepaid in your kitchen. Cable TV and Internet and a great view of Corpus Christi Bay in every balcony. The Staff here are really great and security is 5 star. If you want a relaxing weekend at the beach or an extended stay you need to check this place out.

Unit 2203-What a nightmare. $400 for 2 nights in a old shipwrecked cruise ship cabin. Got there at about 9pm on Friday and was happy to leave by 5am on Sunday. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

Got here and our room didnt have a working key pad and the lady who we rented it from wont answer her phone, so we are stuck outside of our room. Also the elevators dont work and we are on the third floor

Had broken stuff, smelled like mold, sliding door was broken, they had construction going on in the room next to us so it woke us up super early. Staff didn’t know what was going on.

The building is very dirty. Elevators did not work. I had a leg fracture a weeks ago and it was a punishment to climb stairs. The shower lever comes in hand every time you deal with it, you get drenched when you try to fix it.Only positive, beach facing. Totally, not worth the money, i will never do airbnb again.Forgot to mention the number locks is the worst i ever dealt with. Had to wait 20 mins for someone to come fix, after a long freaking drive.

Staff is awesome.

Stay away from this place, travel the extra 30min and stay somewhere around Port Aransas or Mustang Island. Its a cleaner beach and much nicer properties.

We stayed in condo 1105, maintained by Orlando C. We loved the amazing view of the beach from the balcony! We spent every morning with our coffee on the balcony, just taking in the sights and sounds. So relaxing!! This is an incredibly well maintained and cozy condo. Orlando has done a great job on this one!! Well organized, helpful and very easy to deal with!

So they let us go without water for 32 days. I live here and I was last to get water meanwhile units with nobody staying in them had water

Wonderful stay, will be back

We stayed at this facility via airbnb. We missed our window to review that specific host/unit, but I would not recommend this place.The elevator for the 3rd building should not be trusted. When we arrived it was not working and there was no signage stating it was broke. We had to carry our belongings to the 3rd floor - not fun. The day it was working, my SO got stuck and had to pry the doors open to get out. There was no reception in the elevator, so I hope the call buttons work for the next poor soul that gets stuck. When it was working, it was very slow and when the doors would open/close, the elevator car would jerk/bounce. I will say that we saw repairmen there a couple different days and they did put up signage. Our stay was short and the elevator was broke more times than it wasnt.Aside from the fact that our unit was misrepresented, it was pretty rundown. You couldnt walk across the floor without it sounding like you were stomping, so I feel bad for any lower level units.Its not necessarily the facilities fault, but we encountered multiple sketchy tenants/visitors that made us feel a little uncomfortable.I gave 2 stars (vs the preferred 0) for the staff and location. The front desk attendant was very nice and accommodating. The location is super close to the bay and hwy access. I assume during peak season its a convenient place to stay, but even with great weather, I would not return.

Great location and the place over all is nice, but we had to pick up after our stay. Who wants to clean when on vacation? Had to take sheets off the bed and take trash out and it was a list. I guess it just depends on the host you get.

Neat little place. It appears that there are several different owners, so each persons experience will vary. Great access to the beach, and it looks to be fixed up nicely since the hurricane a few years ago.

My husband is staying here while working.It is not the Hilton but it works for him. Hes staying in room 1215 and the owner is very nice and fair with pricing. The property is clean as can be. The beach is great too.

Not very happy

Older condominium but gorgeous and right on the beach. The free Gym isnt worth the time. It really is the beach access that makes me love it. It is walking distance to many restaurants & the USS Lexington. The pool is always kept clean & the place is secure with gates surrounding the entire facility, they’re is a lot of repairs being done but no noise or anything! VERY CHEAP compared to hotel!

Multiple owners here so prices and quality will vary. Some of the units are clearly maintained better than others. But overall a decent place to stay.

Affordable rooms right on the beach

Love love love this place and no matter where you stay you have a beach view on the balcony.

We stayed here in room 3203 for 3nights/days. Beach front spot for sure. Walking distance to Fajitaville and the USS Lexington. The office staff was friendly. My only complaint I wish they had elevators at both ends of the buildings they just have 1.

Great location. We stayed there in December. You can walk the beach, see the USS Lexington and other locations. We are coming back next year.

Great place to stay! The lady Irme who rented us a condo was so nice and helpful she was funny too! Great view great room we enjoyed our stay and well be definitely coming back
