I have been going to this dentist for years. I love the service and gentle spirits that exist. Customer service is on point. It is hard to communicate with the hygienist when she is working in your mouth, however, she has the best personality. I am always concerned about the billing. I try to not have a dental balance, “pay as you go”, unfortunately that doesn’t work. The insurance carrier apparently is not paying or might be misleading. Overall, I am pleased with this office.

I’ve been going to the this dental practice for many years. Dr. Rainford is meticulous and has a gentle personality. Beverly is great and so is Joanie. My hygienist is very knowledgeable and thorough. Sometimes there’s a bit of a wait but it is worth it!

I would give them zero stars if I could! Worst experience ever! The dentist said that the phone lines were down so she could not call in my meds but they were not down according to the receptionist. The receptionist was very helpful and kind. The doctor does not care at all for the patients. Also had a dead roach in the room. Do not go here!

We go here to get same hygienist weve always had. However, dont get the first appointment in the day as they have a thing about not opening the door until exactly that time even though they tell you to come early. (At least its this way during the pandemic)

In order of importance:I came here to have 3 cavities filled a week ago. Now, I am in pain and have been fearing to eat all day. I initially thought that I was continuing to have pain after the procedure but it’s been a week and the amount of pain has escalated since then. I’m now worried that i will have to have a root canal at some point because of this dentistry’s malpractice. I’m extremely disappointed.The front desk staff is not polite at all. Every time I ask questions after they’ve been vague, I’m met with an attitude. I’ve also witnessed them doing this to other patients. Last week I came in for an appointment at 11 and waited patiently until 11:45; I went up to the desk and asked what was going on and then all of a sudden they were ready to see me. It was extremely frustrating.Every time I come here they make me fill out the same paperwork that I’ve already filled out the last time i came to visit 6 months (or less) ago. This is a waste of my time and most importantly paper. Do you all not have a system to store this info??

The office staff is great the doctor was great but the pricing is unbelievable!!! Also, for what it cost the only thing they can offer is run your credit for a Care Credit or pay half for the procedures. It would be ok if its only a few hundred dollars but when you get a treatment plan for almost 7k which is unbelievable who has 1/2 of that to pay upfront ?? So, its either you pay that, run your credit or you dont have teeth in your mouth. Its kind of heartbreaking because this is something that needs to be done and they cost more than your primary care

Ive been to this location for several exams and procedures, and its been tough. The staff is friendly and the doctors are helpful. But I did feel like the pricing strategy was a little off. I got a treatment plan in fall 2020, and immediately proceeded to get the deep cleaning and wisdom tooth extractions done. During the deep cleaning, the hygenist chipped an already cracked tooth. She seemed to be in a rush, which... okay, but there werent a bunch of other patients in the office.After the holidays, I schedule an appointment to get the next batch of procedures done (crown, filling). But my previous doctor changed his schedule and I had to switch dentists at the same location. Which meant a new treatment plan.The new treatment plan came in at $9K MORE than the previous treatment plan that Id already begun completing.But even thats a relatively small thing, right? I didnt sign off on the new treatment plan.Three of my children have been treated at Great Expressions and all of them received super long, expensive treatment plans, too. Second opinions revealed that the kids didnt need stuff like deep cleanings. (I didnt know that).But heres the part thats compelled me to write this review: Ive had consistent nerve pain - beyond just sensitivity - but nerve pain were I feel pain severe enough to warrant 500mg of Tylenol or 600mg of Motrin off and on. So, I dont want to send my kids back there because I dont want them to have chipped teeth and nerve pain because somebody was in a rush. Maybe its just me - my mouth. But I didnt have any pain before I went there. None, even with the broken tooth. Now, I have constant pain on both sides of my mouth.So, I would pass on this one guys. Really

The staff is great but they didnt even check my ID to make sure it was me there as a new patient. I could have been anyone and thats not safe. Secondly, their prices and rates are ridiculous and not comparable to other dental facilities. The additional chargers they propose are made up to get more money since insurance companies dont pay alot for services. Where are the dental facilities that really care about the patients? I watch and listen to four patients check out after their visit and every last one questioned the additional chargers with lack of explanation and understanding. How do you know their will be a treatment plan if you havent even seen the patient? How do you shoe a video that was already repaired before you even see the physician? Just another way to get more money. I do alot of reviews and this is not one because I dont like the business. Service and care is very important to me and I want you to be informed. Fyi. I am sparing you alot of details to make this simple and sweet but I immediately call my insurance company and reported them, told them about my experience, and changed my primary dentist. By the way they never clean your teeth on first visit because they have to give you a treatment plan ($$$$$$) first. Be informed.

I do not recommend this dentist to anyone that wants professionalism and to not be nickled and dimed for everything. They are slow, and even when you have an appointment you could be there for hours. The dentist has no personality and is not informative at all. One time they forgot about me while I waited in the dentist chair. How do I know this you ask? I overheard a staff say it. Once they told me that if I bought a water pick they had a letter for my flexspending then when I bought it they said We dont have a letter for that brand anymore, but it works great. So I had to pay out of my pocket after they made it seem like I would not. They even charge extra for fluoride. I had never and dont now at my current dentist. However, I kept my son there until I could find a dentist that was good. My son went for a routine cleaning in January. I received a bill for that cleaning. Although, I have been insured with the same company since 2016. When I called Great Expressions to solve the problem they were rude and unhelpful. Since then, it is now June, am still getting bills and treats for collection, but when I speak to my insurance provider they insure me that they have contacted Great Exspressions and left voice messages several times. Three to be exact. I am frustrated and none seems to care that my credit could be affected by there lack of concern because I am no longer a client in their office. In all honesty I am not surprised because I left for valid reasons. EXAMPLE

Went in today and had a “Deep Cleaning” done. It had been a quite a while from my last visit and cannot say enough good things about the staff and especially Julia. She was kind and a good conversationalist but most importantly she was gentle and compassionate. I’ll be going back again in June ... cannot let things get to a bad place again. Thanks Julia for being REMARKABLE!!!

I’ve been going to this dentist office for years. This review is way past due lol. I highly recommend it. The staff and great; I think they’ve been the same since I started. Tania, the dentist, is friendly and very consistent.Above all, I recommend my wonderful hygienist, Julia. She does an absolute thorough job, cleaning those stubborn stains and every crevice. My teeth feel and look fantastic after each visit! Love it! I appreciate you Julia.

If it were possible to rate this place as negative stars, I would do so. Nightmare. In fact, I reported them. On my first visit, they told me that I needed several thousands of dollars of dental work including a special deep cleaning, one crown, and four fillings. They also told me I had bone loss and receding gums. I was shocked as Ive only had one filling my entire life. Fortunately, I went for a second opinion where I was informed that I had minimal bone loss (less than normal for a healthy person my age with healthy teeth), my gums were in fantastic shape, I had no cavities, I did not need a crown, and that I only needed a standard cleaning as my teeth were also in great shape. Can we say CORRUPT? I just hope that people that choose to go here have the good sense to question things that seem off- especially if they seem overly eager to perform the procedures the same day. Oh, and they pad their prices so much here that even with insurance you will end up paying more here for your portion than you would pay if you go to many regular dentists who do not accept an HMO plan and where you have to pay 100% of the costs out of pocket. Nice, huh?

Julia, Sharon and Dr. Stringer were great! They were very thorough and provided very good service. The front office staff was also great and pleasant. I really enjoyed my visit to Great Expressions today after having trials with them earlier this year regarding my fitting for a crown. Today, Sharon did my x-rays and did a good job. She always does a good job. Dr. Stringer came in and reviewed my x-rays and consulted with me in Dr. Rainford’s absence. She was very patient and thorough and also very sweet. Julia came in and did my deep cleaning which was excellent. She is so smart and so thorough.I had a great visit today!

I had an appt today at 1:30 but was not called back until approximately 2:15. I do not expect to be seen right away because I know that sometimes unexpected things happen but I thought that was a little excessive. Once seated, x-rays were needed. The lady (dressed in civilian clothes, not scrubs), said that she was going to take the x-rays, she almost forgot to put the lead apron over me and seemed to not know how to work the equipment. After putting the film in my mouth and realizing that something was not right, she took it out and sat it on the table, corrected whatever it was and attempted to put the same film back in my mouth!!! That is cross-contamination! I informed her that she needed to change it. After the cleaning, the hygienist that performed the cleaning was not the one to inject the medication I needed in the places she indicated, the other lady did and she did not put them in the areas indicated by the performing hygienist. I prefer consistency so that procedures are not confused. I did not leave the clinic until about 4:30. It was great seeing Jonie again though.

😞😞😞 I had a very bad experience with the dentist ONLY the staff was so very amazing is the only reason I gave it two stars, i would have gave more for the staff alone they because made my visit worth the visit. I wasnt n the best of moods when I arrived and its wasnt fair to no one even though I didnt say much, my actions spoke louder than words, and for that I am so truly sorry. I found out while I was there that my blood pressure was extremely high 160/103 and that mentally threw me off even further, I waited awhile to finally c the dentist and once he finally came n his first words was Wooow and from there it was negative after negative words coming from his mouth about how bad my teeth was😞😞😞😞which sent me into a silent rage but I still stayed quiet, but also it hurt me tremendously bad 😢😢😢😢 because I am just now able to get into a place where I can even afford to c a dentist since child hood and he crushed my spirit so badly, I still cant believe I even let him put his hands n my mouth after that, he was just so rude and unprofessional to me. I will never go back to that place ever ONLY because of him. after it all was over I was n a worse mood and my words wasnt as pleasant as I would have liked to the staff and for that i cant apology enough, it was not at all there fault how this man talked to me. I will not let this go and I will be reporting him to corporate, no one should be treated how he treated me because you never know a persons story. I cant believe I let that man stole my joy and to the staff I am extremely sorry.

I went in because my wisdom tooth was killing me. It’s been hurting for 3 days straight with no release. I needed them to take it out. Money wasn’t an issue, because it was well worth it. When I 1st get the back, I noticed a lot of young girls walking around playing and loud talking. I didn’t care bc I just needed my tooth out. The doc there was about to start the process of removing the tooth but wanted to take my blood pressure. I’m telling them that I’m in pain at the moment sooo of course my BP is going to be high. They kept checking over and over and over, of course it’s going to be diff bc u keep checking it over and over on the same arm. So it kept elevating. The entire time I’m in pain, the doc finally says, he can’t remove my tooth bc of my BP. That was a lot of BS and I will never go back. I went right down the street to SHERETT DENTAL GROUP and Dr. R was great. He took xrays and was able to remove it with no problem. Stay away from this dentist office and go to SHERETT DENTAL GROUP. I promise it’s worth it.

Ive gone to the office a couple of times and I must say, the head dentist has a horrible attitude and doesnt have great people skills. If youve ever had to feel nervous about visiting a dentist office because no one made you feel comfortable, this one is the one to avoid. Also, I had to get fill-ins at this location and they only have a one year warranty on fill-ins (fill-ins should last anywhere from 7-10 years). My fill in went out a little over a year and they refused to cover it!! My insurance didnt cover it because they expect the dentist office to have a 2-3 warranty. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME HERE. I just had to finish paying off an extra $150.00 on top of the $80 I paid for my fill-in because they wanted to give me a hard time about it. On top of that, when I called and just wanted someone in the staff to sympathize with me, every staff member I spoke to caught an attitude and tried to argue back. Ive decided to use another dentistry for myself and anyone else that used this office. They definitely need to improve their warranty program (this is someones mouth youre dealing with) and the behavior and attitudes of their team.The two stars I gave this practice is for the one person who actually took the time to talk to me and actually care about my teeth and oral health. Thanks to you... but everyone else... Im on to the next!

Very through, had me questioning my previous experiences with other dentist. Only concern for me is how long the appointment took. I spent almost two hours in the chair mostly waiting. Very informative and took great concern with my dental health.

I’m not sure of this place. I read other reviews and all experiences very similar. My appointment was way too long I skipped breakfast to get an early appointment thinking I would get out to eat breakfast afterwards it was almost 1:00 before I left my appointment was at 9:30am. “Apparently”, I have all sorts of gum and bone issues with my teeth. I know it’s been a while since I visited the dentist but wow! Then I’m basically told oh you don’t take care of your teeth. No I haven’t had insurance to see a dentist in almost 3 years. Apparently everyone has gum issues according to your reviews but miraculously when they go somewhere else they don’t! I cancelled my second appointment and had my X-ray’s emailed to another dentist. Oh yes it’s quite messy the exam room crumbs and other debris on the floor yuck! Be prepared to have your gums poked. And bring $300 for their “special cleaning” that your teeth absolutely need according to them. Glad I read other reviews before proceeding and found another dentist which my insurance carrier helped me find.UPDATE: I changed my two to one star I got a second opinion. I don’t have gum disease my gums and teeth are healthy. I do have 3 cavities all in the back the spot on my front tooth is NOT a cavity!! I have to get two crowns but he said all in all it will cost me $1000 because only 50% of the crown is covered via my insurance. My insurance covers everything else. I don’t need a “special clean” I’m getting a normal clean. Much better than that $9000 I was quoted here..... yeah..... don’t go here. Scammers!

I am a Great Expressions Client in another state. I came to this branch because of a filling that failed and wanted to get a cleaning. This location IS NOT digitally connected to any outside branch and therefore, this location had me fill out paperwork as a new client. Including general exam and xrays. Yet, I was in communication with office manager a day earlier and my information was found, NO problem.This visit seemed more about money rather than taking care of patient. Now I understand this is a business and the name of game is payment for services. However, I did not feel like a valued client. The office is outdated compared to my former office.I do not think I will be returning...

Although I wish i could have had time to get more done. The last was very kind and made me feel very comfortable. The rooms were very clean. The only down fall is I only got my x-rays done and I was there for 1hr30mins.

My experience was much like the other reviews I took my son for his regular cleaning only to be told they would not do it we need a more extensive cleaning for $200 after waiting an hour and a half with no services rendered at the end. I was also told he needed 7 sealants and two filings for a total cost to me over $600.00. My confusion happened when they suggested the cleaning before the filling Ive always thought it would be the dentist practice to save teeth before anything. I requested to have the free cleaning that the insurance would cover and was told no they couldnt to that. Needless, to say I would not recommend this practice to anyone please keep looking for a honest dentist practice

This by far worse experience I have had going to the dentist. No one likes going to the dentist but when you have an experience like this its gives all dentist a bad name. I arrived to my schedule appointment on time which I schedule weeks ago 45mins of later of sitting with no up dates. I was finally called back only to have this lady push a sharp objects in my gums so hard every time it feeling as she was making my gums bleeding on purpose. she said she was counting it felt like she was given me a shot in every movement in my mouth. Then I was not even offer to clean my mouth after she was done the dentist did come after said something about money and left at the 2hr of being there I had enough of no customers service and overall bad treatment I walked to the desk and asked for the lady to call with whatever the price they were coming up with.

If youre pregnant, dont bother bringing in a letter from obgyn saying its ok to xray. They will NOT honor it. The letter was turned in last month informing them when I was due and they let me sit in back for 45 mins into my appt to tell me. Time wasted.

Do not. I repeat, DO NOT go to this office. I normally dont leave reviews, but I need to for this horrible scam of a practice. I went in to get a basic check up, and get some cavities filled. Requested for a basic cleaning, and some fillings. They refused the basic cleaning, said I NEEDED a special cleaning that would cost me 600 dollars (outside of my insurance plan) - I would NEED one crown, which they then turned into two crowns at a later visit - and that I would NEED the more expensive fillings for cavities. Costing me a total of more than 3 thousand dollars for what was supposed to be a routine check up within the capabilities of my insurance.To add insult to injury, all of these treatments are of dire consequence - as they made it seem like my teeth would fall out tomorrow if I didnt get these treatments done right away. (I dont smoke, or chew on rocks - and I brush and floss everyday)They dont listen to what you need, they dont care. Theyll take what you request and shove it right back up your butt with recommendations for the more expensive treatments. The doctor is 20 something, inexperienced, and a down right awkward individual. The front desk receptionist is incredibly rude, unprofessional, arrogant, and a disgusting individual (picks up the phone cracking up, answering with a Yes? like Im bothering her) Please...please go elsewhere. These people do not care about your needs, and only want the most profit possible.

I went to this office before Great Expressions bought it and I thought I would go back until I dealt with very ugly office staff and read a patient review on Rate MD about this office staff and the Dr. After having a bad experience with a prior dentist yrs before and the wrong tooth was pulled, I was startled and worried about this review. I wont be going there ever again. The following is a review by a patient you can find on Rate MD, but its under the dentists name, not the practice. Dr. Tani Rainford 2/19/13 They over charged me by 500 dollars. She told me I needed work done hat wasnt necessary. My fillings fell out the next day and the tooth beside he one she did filling on she broke it.Insurance: Delta DentalPaid/Co-pay: $700

Ive been a patient at this location for over 6yrs. The front office staff have always been accommodating.

First off let me say that Great expressions is a real rip off Your first appointment they take X-rays and talk to you about ur teeth which you assume that you are recieving consultation but its not. They are gonna give a list of all these types of cleanings and treatments and try to tell you that you need these first before fixing a cavities which when I was younger the dentist filled cavities without all these special cleaning treatment. But for the cleaning you have to get a consultation which is $115.00 which you thought your first visit was since they give a print out on what one needs to do to their teeth. Oh but they dont do wisdom teeth extractions so even though the dentist may verbally tell you they need to come out its wont be on the list of things needed to be done . And if you need your wisdom tooth removed only the Snellville office can do it so dont bother with the wall Street office of and when you go to Snellville for the extraction thats another $115.00 for a consultation and that doesnt include that actual extraction fee.And to top it all off A Ms.Joney their receptionist has horrible customer service skills she is very rude and gets very mouthy over the phone and I thought once inside the office her attitude would be better, unfortunately it was she is very sarcastic and condescending. Im sorry but great dental is nothing but a chain of dentist offices out to rob you of your money, give crappie service, and care nothing about their patients its all about the money. And through all of this I was in sooo much pain with my wisdom tooth and nobody showed any concern or empathy for my well being. I will never come here again!

An hour and a half for a simple cleaning with X-rays? No excuse for leaving me in that chair for so long
