Had a Diesel engine swap performed by this company a couple months ago and have found several things that are concerning. The company didn’t even swap out a block heater from one engine to the other just leaving the plug hanging down from the truck and while they performed the work they broke the windshield washer line and just put a piece of hose in with hose clamps, which has failed and I have to repair correctly. The truck was sitting for a while before the replacement of the engine with a replacement engine from LKQ. While performing the swap they recommended swapping all the hoses so I agreed to it and requested that I retain the old hoses for spares in case I needed one in a pinch in the future but when I received them all the connections were destroyed so if I hadn’t agreed to buy the new ones I would have had to anyways. During the repair many things kept coming up and had to be replaced one after another which seemed to be repetitive while the bill continued to increase. One item that was not a easy settling feeling is being told the main fuel pump had failed and needed to be replaced at over $500, I requested to have the old one and just out of curiosity I hooked it back up and it worked with no issues, further arising the thought that parts markup is a priority for revenue not keeping the customers bill at a reasonable cost.Post follow up.The items listed as being an issue were found months after repairs were completed, I found the broken washer hose while installing a block heater that they didn’t swap out to the replacement motor after I we doing and oil change and found the power plug to it just hanging down. I just went ahead and repaired it all the correct way myself. And I found all the hoses that were broken on the end connectors while putting them in a spot in my garage. Once I got the truck from the shop I went immediately to my work in Iowa so just bringing it back to the shop was not an option hence why I didn’t call them to correct it, but it should have been correct prior to leaving the shop in the first place since I was in a rush for the vehicle to return to work. And just and FYI the bad fuel pump is the one that is on the truck currently and not having issues so I don’t know what to say about that one. I know and understand mark up for a small business but in these time customers have to watch their money also. The reason for the post in the first place is from the frustration of items not done or broken and half way repaired not correctly for the customer to replace and repair later

I’ve read reviews about Kenneth Jones garage and most seem to be positive. I had a very negative experience with them. Just thought I’d share so that you don’t get hung up. My wife’s DVD player was making a loud noise. The stealership wanted $1600. I found a good used one on eBay for about $400. Took it to a couple of shops and they were struggling with it. Someone told me to call KJ Garage. I did. Explained everything. She said we’ve programmed them before should be no problem at all. We dropped the car off the night before. She called me at 8:13 to tell me they had tried twice and it wouldn’t work. They open at 730. Which means they worked on my car for... at the absolute most 43 minutes. Yet the man told my wife they worked on it for 3 hours??? They were unable to program the radio and still charged me $150 plus a $6 environmental fee? plus tax for a total of about $170 when my wife picked up the keys. She claimed she told me they would charge the full amount regardless. Well she didn’t. She lied and she led me to believe it would be no problem. I understand some sort of charge but they buy radio VINs and are able to use them until they take so they were literally out 43 minutes and no supplies at all for $170. That’s about $237 an hour. And you thought your mechanic was expensive. And by the way. They wouldn’t even give anything to my wife to prove that they had tried so that we could attempt to return the item to eBay other than a hand written note on the invoice. Wouldn’t even show her the screen of their laptop and the program they use.The other 2 small shops that looked at it did not charge me a dime. They were Barkley’s in Springhill and Greenbrier (Brown’s) auto on Tyler in Greenbrier. So if you need diagnostic work or something programmed I suggest one of them first.

I wrote a review a few days ago when I dropped my vehicle off their. We got it back and so far so good have no complaints. Although the tire was a little low when I picked it up but im sure if they were still open, I could have asked them to air it up. So that ones on me but the vehicle runs good and the issues they worked on were fixed properly. I will be going back to get some other work done. All in all I have no complaints going to this shop, I will be back!!!! Thanks yall

Kenneth J., Mike B. and Nickey all where great to work with. I just had diesel engine repair done on my 2004 Ford F350 6.0L Superduty. A new oil cooler, EGR cooler, HP oil pump and a bad injector was replaced along with a turbo hose and a few other small items. My 189,000 mile truck runs like new. I appreciated the detailed and itemized bill so I could see every part bought and the total labor cost. Their work charges were very reasonable. After this job I took them my wifes 1998 Ford pick that was running rough on cold start. They diagnosed the problem, presented we with clear option choices. We decided to invest back in the truck by getting Kenneth and Mike to pull the engine, redo the heads, replace engine seals, timing chain and several other small items. They also found the source of an annoying oil leak and fixed it (oil cooler). I have never been more pleased with a service shop than I am with Kenneth Jones Garage. Again the price was reasonable and the billing well itemized. Thanks Kenneth, Mike and Nickey.

My little truck ended up here by accident. They looked at it, told me what the problem was, fixed it for less than they quoted me and had it back to me faster than I expected. The owner stopped his work and came out to greet me after I paid the girl inside as I was leaving. Overall it was a very pleasant experience. I am moving maintenance of my entire fleet here.

Dont get me started! Used to LOVE them & spent lots of money with them for years. Then, they replaced my engine with a remanufactured one as we discussed & didnt drive it more than maybe 100 miles before its alternator went out, the computer module needed replaced, then some oil sensor went out (apparently) because it leaked oil like a faucet! The engine was ruined by this & since my warranty had run out just a month before they said, sorry hun! Nothin we can do for ya! I had no way to have it towed & didnt really know what to do so I just left it. Granted it was parked for a year in their back lot, but last I saw it was in above average condition inside & out. Only the ruined engine & a missing spare & blown rear tire made it salvage. When I got it sold & went to meet the buyer, the car I left with Jones Auto had SO much water damage to every inch of inside & out that my buyer thought Id lied! But it was never drove it in water! Yet warped, mildewed, & rusted it was now! Even the trunk had water in it! Their lot floods & they never moved it!! They let it sit under water 4 I dont know how long but...just wouldnt trust them if I were you.

We were told to go to this shop by our mechanic we normally use because they were not able to work on what the issue was.We took our car there and dropped off on a Monday. We were told it would be ready on Wednesday. When we had not heard anything by Wednesday afternoon so we called and they were very unsure of when it would be ready. They told me it could possibly be ready Thursday but sounded very unsure of themselves.I called back Thursday and I was told it would not be ready until Friday. They quoted me a price and I said okay thanks.Friday when they called to tell us it was ready they did not inform us they close an hour early on Friday (4pm). They called 30 minutes before closing saying hey if you want it we close at 4pm.When we got there to pick it up the price was higer than what we were quoted on Thursday. When I looked over the receipt I noticed they changed the oil and the filter (supposedly) and they did not change the sticker in the windshield indicating it had been changed. When we asked for the key they told us it was in the vehicle. When we got to our vehicle the key was left in the iginition and the windows were down.We will not recommend this shop to anyone and we will avoid using them again.
