We needed crawl space remediation for a few spots of mold and a slightly high water content in the joists beneath our flooring that was found in the home inspection we had when we bought the house eight months ago. We were told by another contractor that at a minimum we needed French trenching dug around the foundation and for best results a new vapor barrier as well. The first part would cost about $2500 and to add the barrier would bring the price to about $8,000. In contrast, Ancel Hamilton, the owner of Biotek Environmental, did the same inspection and told us that the main problem was that our roof drains were draining right against the foundation. He said that if we extended the pipes so that they carried the drain water farther away from the house, that would probably eliminate most of the problem. He said a little re-grading of the property (which we needed to do anyway) would help as well. As to the woods water content, he said it was just slightly above the recommended limits and told us the measures he recommended would most likely cure that. He told me how to test the woods water content myself, what tool to use, where to get it, and what it should cost. If the content was still too high, a new vapor barrier would definitely do it, and he said we could probably get it done for about $1500 from any local basement or crawl space specialist, or could do it ourselves for around $1000, depending on how good a vapor barrier we bought. He even explained to me how to do it properly. In closing he said I could give you a price on this and make it worth our while to come up here, but you can do most of this yourself or pay a local guy to do it much cheaper. You dont really need much work here.

What a wonderful company!!! I had a leak in one of my vacant listings and they came within an hour notice. Talk about customer service! They saved my clients so much money by being there so soon. There was water on hardwoods and carpets and they are all being save thanks to Biotek. The staff is awesome to work with and you cannot ask for friendlier people to handle an emergency for you. You should keep their number in your phone so you can pass it along to others and of course in case you need them yourselves. I cannot say enough about how great my experience was with Biotek.

Mr. Ted was awesome. He walked through my condo and inspected everything detail by detail. I would recommend this company/Mr. Ted to everyone. I was very pleased with the experience.

Thomas was very cordial and answered my questions. He was on time and I like that he took off his shoes before walking around. Great steps toward combating Biohazards.

Ancel Hamilton, the owner, is the most kind person and genuinely cares about his customers. I have had multiple mold issues and he attended them personally, inspecting behind his staff to assure things were handled properly. COEM (Center for Occupational and Environmental Medicine) in Charleston also gave rave reviews when my daughter had to become their patient due to mold exposure which caused her severe and long-term illnesses. They are the best!

Literally sitting here waiting for the floors to dry. I came home after a long day at work to my house basically flooded in the back. I called Biotek and Ryan had Anscel call me who then had Paul come out. I feel so blessed right now. Within 30mins they had fans plugged up and I was able to calm down. I feel assured after seeing them tomorrow, I will have hope on whats gonna happen next with my floors. I am thanking God I was referred to these kind, genuine, good people!!!!

So pleased with the service from Ancel and his team. They performed an inspection of my home to assess water damage, moisture and mold issues, and indoor air-quality concerns. He arrived on time, and went above & beyond to listen to our situation and ask detailed questions about our problem. I never felt rushed, or like we were just another estimate they had to knock out that day. He was kind, courteous, and informative. At this point, we have not contracted for repairs but can say without a doubt that should we move forward - we wont be considering any other company to complete the work. Highly recommend.

Worst experience in the world

BioTek is a fabulous company. Ancel & his crew are all kind & compassionate people. I had mold in my house & they did an inspection, then remediation. I loved dealing with everyone involved. I have been very sick with breathing in mold spores & mycotoxins for so long that I desperately needed help with the house.They found the problem area right away & efficiently worked till the mold was gone. The company has all kinds of equipment for testing, cleaning & dealing with mold issues. I fired tons of questions which were answered honestly, & even dealt with my turbulent emotions to comfort me.They sealed off the affected area to stop the spread of spores & mycotoxins, brought in huge air scrubbers to clean the air of the whole house, used a special vacuum cleaner to clean the carpet, & cleaned the furniture. All at a reasonable cost.I am so grateful for BioTek. Also I have to say this. I went with BioTek because Darnel, the beautiful woman who answered the phone was & is so kind & compassionate that I knew this was the company for me & that God was & is with them.

Biotek is one of the most honest business you will find when it comes to water restoration. We had a major flooding issue last year with Hurricane Jacquin and the threat of Hurricane Matthew reminded me of just how much it meant to have a local company walk my family through the steps of what they were going to do and why. We had levels of water that were toxic due to rivers flooding and Ancil explained that we would have to remove every thing that was saturated. It was not a pleasant experience, but the folks at Biotek made it much easier to handle. I cant help but remember how devistating this loss was to my family and hope that the folks in Charleston and other areas are not having to go through what we did without a team of people as kind and considerate as those at Biotek were to us.

Whoever first picked up the phone literally hung up on me before even hearing what I was saying basically saying he wasnt interested in helping me. Good luck in business
