Just as another reviewer had stated, a tremendous lack of professionalism and communication. I scheduled my first appointment and the counselor was late. The second appointment, counselor didnt show up. Additionally, when I connected on the first visit his profile is displayed as Doctor. He is not, he is a LCSW. Not only is this unethical but also illegal. I expressed my concerns about these issues to Thriveworks and there was zero response until I reached out to cancel the enrollment. Avoid this company at all costs.

I enjoyed my appointments when Mary Lee was there, but after she went on a leave of absence, I had an appointment with a different counselor who had her back turned to me while she was on her computer most of my appointment. Her tone of voice was not welcoming, very nonchalant. So, I like the facility overall, but it depends which counselor you pick.

I was very disappointed with my overall experience bc the counselor I was seen by, Ms. North, was one I had found online and was excited to speak with. For the most part, I didn’t feel as thought I was getting therapy from her. I felt as though I was treating myself. She’s made a few comments during our 3 visits that took me by surprise. On our visit first, she asked my religious backgrounds and after informing her I am a Christian (but use the term loosely), she turned to me immediately asking “why do you mean by that”.The second visit she was 15 mins late and walked very leisurely to the office. Our final visit, after updating her on a situation, she asked if I wanted to approach the individual about it and I informed her I didn’t and said “I know when to shut up”. She replied “I can’t tell”.Extremely unprofessional. I am paying to discuss my issues with her but that comment was my final straw. I won’t be returning nor recommending anyone here

I’ve been trying to find a trauma/ ptsd therapist. Told me they didn’t accept Medicaid even though I see several reviews that say they do and it’s on the website. The lady on the phone told me it’s subject to change daily, what kind of sense does that make to your clients? Disappointing when you’re trying to find help. I see several reviews on here mentioning how horrible their accounting department is. I see very great reviews about the therapists. You guys should re-evaluate how & who you have handling this department because it looks as though they are making people distrust and not like this business, myself included.

Very disappointed. We had appointments 3 times. 1st two times the counselor was late. The 3rd time our appointment was at 8pm on a Friday. We texted when we arrived at 7:30pm, by 8:40 no one ever came to get us nor have they ever apologized or heard from the office since. If we no show you get charged. My husband called the following Tuesday to find out if we were charged and surely we were and never seen. They did return the charge but still didn’t hear from anyone. Very disappointed with the unprofessionalism.

I’m giving two stars because the therapist was very kind. Unfortunately, I only had one visit. I was initially told my copay was $62 - steep but I also have a HDHP insurance policy. I was given that figure twice and made sure to have my card information on file since that was requested. The day of the appointment, I was charged the fee. A week later I received another charge for $36. It took almost an hour before someone could even find my profile, and it was because the person didn’t hear my first name and instead of asking for clarification - proceeded to look for that person instead. While on one of the many intergalactic holds, I pulled up my insurance app to see if they had billed Cigna a second time or not at all. Then I see on there that the portion of the bill I’m responsible for is $98 despite being told AFTER they verified my insurance coverage that it would be $62. One $36 additional fee isn’t a huge deal but it adds up to about $425 a month vs. $269 per month. I can’t afford that and had I known that, I would’ve found a provider through my insurance and EAP plan. When the billing clerk finally got back to me, she explained that they thought it was still 2020 when they quoted me and the difference was because my out of pocket deductible had not been met. Again, that’s fine. I asked her at what point did they think they should notify me, the patient, about this change. Her only response was that they were very busy. Busy or not, if the copay changes and you plan on charging more, why is it that you do not reach out to the patient? We’re in a pandemic; many people don’t have jobs or are underemployed. While I can absorb the $36 there are some that cannot; we’re all coming here for help with mental illness - do they think this is added stress that we need? Not being transparent about your fees up front or even before charging additional fees is absurd. I can’t think of many businesses that can quote you one dollar amount and then change it, not tell you, then automatically debit your card for it.Disappointed is an understatement. For the fees charged, you should be well staffed enough to be able to call people - you call like debt collectors when you’re trying to get people scheduled but can’t call when prices change?

Ive been working with Carlton for several months now and he has been a tremendous help with boosting interpersonal communication and helping to bring some clarity to emotional situations in relationships. His emotional intelligence is excellent and he isnt afraid to share some personal stories about his own past that can help you relate. In addition to all of that, he has been very flexible with his schedule which allows me to see him when it is most convenient. He is certainly in the top 3 of counselors/therapists I have seen over the years and I would highly recommend him to anyone that is needing a friend to discuss tough issues with.

VETERANS BEWARE!!!!!The counseling from Dr Jessica P. was some of the best! However the accounting department is the worst I have ever come across! Not just the billing side but customer response as well! They can’t fill out forms or send them to the right place and of course it is always someone else’s fault. I have been fighting this battle for about about a year. Then they have the nerve to report it against my credit. When the VA has contacted them themselves several times to coach them on how to fill out the paperwork and where to send it. 🤔 Everyone talks bad about the VA well if you think they are bad... give this accounts department a go. If you can get them on the phone or get Robert to call you back that is.This is coming from someone who has been dealing with the VA for the last 16 years.Forgot to add Robert Cabana I saw that you have visited my LinkedIn profile. What did you think about it?

I am both a client of Carltons as well as a healthcare provider that sends him patients.Personally, I feel that Carlton is an excellent counselor who has an incredible skill set when it comes to diagnosing and managing a wide variety of situations and conditions. He is an active listener, non-judgmental, and someone I feel comfortable opening up to. He has helped me successfully navigate challenging situations in my life, and I continue to see and trust Carlton to help me continue my growth as a person. I like that he works in the evenings as that allows me to fit counseling into my busy schedule. I drive an hour to see him because I believe in the quality of his therapy.Professionally, he is my favorite counselor to refer patients to because he is easy to access, flexible in his schedule, and I consistently get positive feedback from my patients on their experiences with him. I highly recommend him to anyone needing personal or couples counseling. While I personally do not have issues with addiction, I am aware that he is especially skilled at helping patients manage substance abuse / addictions.

I received a letter from RMC in the beginning of March 2020 concerning a bill that I had not paid for with Thriveworks for a session on June 22,2019. The fee is 323.00. Now what perplexed me about this was, I was told and received a receipt on September 27, 2019 that I did not owe any money to the business by Carmelita Wise, who also has been nothing but the most helpful person on this case. Ive called Thriveworks on March 2, 2020, March 4, 2020, March 5, 2020, March 10, 2020, March 19, 2020, March 25, 2020, March 26, 2020, and March 31, 2020, which is a total of 8 times and the manager(Robert Cabana) has still not contact me. Also how much sense does it make that there is not contact information of the manager if you would like to even email him. Most of my conversations has been with Carmelita Wise, who has told me that she has been emailing him and leaving him messages. Mrs. Wise told me that Im not the only one with this issue and that the managers(Robert Cabana and Breanna Sossamono) have been calling people, yet I have not received one phone call.Mrs. Wise has also stated that she can see that something was not added right and that the claim was not sent. She even said that Mrs. Sossamono(Office Manager) could see that something was wrong with my billing. I still cant understand why no one has called me back to explain it further and that it will be solved. Now Ive called my insurance provider(BlueCross BlueShield) and spoke to Megan(03/25/2020) and she told me that the claim wasnt even sent over for that date in particular. Ive also called(03/27/2020) RMC(Receivables Management Corporation) and they have stated that they havent heard anything from Thriveworks concerning my bill. The other thing that I am upset about is, I WAS NOT given a letter or any notification prior to the RMC letter stating that I still owed money. Usually Thriveworks is good at sending a letter or phone call stating you still owed money; giving the person time to either pay it then or set up a payment plan.I am very upset how the manager is handling things. It is not very business like and they can lose many clients to this. All I want is for the billing issue to be solved and settle; also for the manager to contact me.

This is not my therapist!!!!!!! This is a complete bait and switch. Ive been going to see my therapist for years at Millwood and now someone from an answering services is trying a hard sell for me to go someone else in Columbia. I thought they moved and went hoping to see my previous therapist? I never knew this was a franchise like Chik-f-la or McDonalds (at least they give you some nuggets and smile).Look Thriveworks, I am not following flashy signs and silly promises. I would like to talk to the therapist not a company. Stop the hard sell people. Who are you all? I see these franchise shops popping up everywhere and its scary. What happened to actual care and treatment? This looks like a McDonalds version of Mental health. Boutique??? When did Mental health become a store front that sells a product called Therapy???? Seriously people, fellow students, professional, and normal folk be warned. You will walk in to this place and there is absolutely no one to help. Expect to see bright colors, plastic chairs, and clip boards, but nothing else. Its hard enough to walk in and ask for help, but this was shocking. I am not just a consumer. Thriveworks I am a person! You seemed more interested in collecting my financial information than anything else. There was absolutely no thank you, excuse me, or even how are you?. I think Im going to look for my previous therapist and where she went. At least they had people to care and it was an actual clinic. This is DOWNRIGHT scary and cold. Thriveworks all I can say is rethink this. Im sure someone is getting rich but this idea that we are just consumers and not people is upsetting. Good luck to those looking for help here, but I think I keep searching.

I received counseling services at Thriveworks from 2/17/18-5/18/18. At that time, I had a great experience with my therapist, Janet.HOWEVER, this company has shown that they dont actually care about people or their mental health.Yesterday (3/3/20), I received a collections notice from Receivables Management Corporation dated 2/25/20 for $205.68. I had no idea I was carrying a balance, nor did Thriveworks try to contact me at any time over the past 2 years to obtain payment. This morning, I spoke with Carmelita from Thriveworks and she informed me that they have a new billing team/company and they are submitting information (to the collection agency) for any clients they are unsure about the balance. She confirmed that Thriveworks did not make any attempts prior to contact me about this alleged debt. She also told me that I am not the first person to call her about this. How can a company send someone to collections without first attempting to inform them of a possible balance? Also, from what Carmelita said, it sounds like Thriveworks isnt even certain that the people they are sending to collections actually owe the money. This is a really shady business practice for anyone, let alone a company that is supposed to support peoples mental health!UPDATE:It has now been two weeks and I still have not heard a peep from Mr. Cabana. I mailed a certified letter on 3/11, which was received by Thriveworks on 3/16. I called again today and Mr. Cabana was not in the office at that time. Another note was made on my file. I spoke with Jessica from RMC, the collection agency, after calling Thriveworks. She informed me that they are waiting on Thriveworks to provide information so they can send me my itemized notice, but was unable to tell me anything further. Again, this is a TERRIBLE way to conduct business and treat your clients. SHAME ON YOU, THRIVEWORKS!Its been a week and no one from your office has contacted me. I called again today and spoke with Carmelita who made another note in my file and emailed the Human Resources Manager, Robert Cabana. According to his Linkedin profile, Robert has been in this position for over 2 years and has worked in customer service since he was 14. On that profile he also states, Im there to get you the help and resources to achieve your satisfaction and security...I know your needs matter most to you. Im here to see you through. He told us that my son needs a Dr that prescribes meds. My son left that visit feeling rejected and hopeless. Troyer said he could give us a referral so that we could get help. Have called many times for it. Heard the same story “I will send him an email.. I see where you have called on this matter”. I was even given a doctors office to call “call in 5 days. Im not looking for a name Thriveworks . Im looking for my therapist and would greatly appreciate if I wasnt lied to. Be warned....I think this is a bait and switch type of place.

Constantly rescheduling in the last minute (6 times in 2 months) . Very snarky attitude when doing so. Horrible, find somewhere else.
