This apartment is in a great location in regards to campus and Main St. The staff are wonderful, and go out of their way to be sweet every time I see them. The maintance men are super helpful and quick to help with repairs. I will say the appliances were of poorer quality for my units, but each unit is individually owned so that is not across the board. I enjoyed the view and the apartment in the time I lived here.

Loved everything about my apartment! Stayed here for 2 years and never found a single thing that negatively effected me. Has easy access to parking, is based in a lovely area near campus and it’s within walking distance to anything in the city.

Nice place to live. I visited a friend today and her apartment is nice with a view of the city. Staff at the door were friendly and helpful.

Location to UofSC campus is great! Staff is friendly. Feels very safe! Having to wash clothes in basement isn’t a deal breaker. Would recommend to a friend! Be aware that this is an older building so heat/air is controlled only by fan speed!!

We bought this unit for our son, when he attended USC 15 years ago. He was very happy with the location to class and the facility and I was very pleased with the security of the building. After he left, my daughter lived there while in college. I was very happy to know she was in a great location and secure building. The staff is very professional and work hard to make sure every issue is addressed. Since then, I have rented to college/law students, who are equally pleased with the location, facility, amenities and staff. This was a wonderful purchase!

I have lived a Senate Plaza for a year now. Being a young professional in Columbia, SC, my main goal when finding somewhere to live was to have a safe and secure place. Senate Plazas staff makes sure that the residents are safe and they check every guest in. They also keep up with packages in the lobby, so your package does not sit in front of your door while you are gone. Once, I had been gone for about a week and the guy at the front desk made a point to ask me if everything was okay when I got back. The staff is also very friendly. I am excited that I will be living in Senate Plaza for another year. I highly recommend this apartment building for students and young professionals, especially if they work downtown.

Though I like the place, its very convenient, dont expect the managers of the apartments to do any help. If something broken and need to be fixed, just do that yourself. I dont know why I pay such high management fee for that !!!! Dont rent or buy apartment here!

The fact that building management just (Mid August) started making Senate Plaza employees wear a mask (covid-19) while in the building tells you that they dont care about the residents.Update:Building management made a rule not allowing groceries/food or anything else to be delivered to your door. That means if you get covid- 19 or get exposed to covid and have to self isolate/quarantine you have to ride the elevator to the lobby and pick up any deliveries potentially exposing other building residents and employees to covid - 19.

Ive lived here almost 5+ years. Senate Plaza has fantastic amenities for the price. I love the location on campus and the proximity to the Vista, Soda City Market, etc. Its a very quiet building thanks to its concrete walls. Nice parking attached in a covered garage. The building is very secure with friendly staff at the desk 24/7. My unit has modern windows in it like 99% of others in the building and my thermostat is functional, so Ive never had any issues with heating or AC.

I owned a unit at Senate Plaza and the woman who manages the building, who is the daughter of the woman who managed the building for years until her retirement which I never quite understood how her daughter was the best candidate for the job, did her best to interfere with the sale of my unit. In addition, the Board of Directors lack the business ability to manage the finances of the building which results in higher monthly regime fees and a significant recent assessment that each homeowner had to pay.

Sure it is a nice a apartment. However you can have only hot or cold air coming in. The building decide when should you get one or the other, so today my apartment was above 85!

Very very loud noises from May to October when you stay at the second floor due to the AC underground. I made several complaints but the leasing office refused to fix this problem. It was so disappointed during my 9-month stay.😡😡😤😤🤬🤬

It varies from unit to unit, some are very very badly maintained. The walls are painted with lead paint, so why would you risk living here if you can get so many nicer options a lot cheaper?

Such a classy property!

You can hear the train, during the day and in the middle of the night. You can also hear ambulances and city noise all the time. Depending on who your neighbor is there will be parties, tv and screams going on at all times. Also once they turn on the AC you will hear that! It makes it impossible to hold a conversation on the balcony.
