Bought a used serger from this guy, froze up on day 2. Took it back to him and he oiled it. Day four still not sewing acceptably. Took it back for a refund and after some debate finally told me would refund the price before taxes and minus a service fee. Service fee...ok, but why keep the taxes? Who does that? The taxes were over 20 bucks. It would be nice if people weren’t screwing eachother over during this economic crisis.

Best place to go for repairs and replacements. He is honest and will tell you if your item is not worth repairing. He usually has a replacement on the floor. He has repaired 3 sewing machines of mine. I finally broke down and bought a replacement machine. One of my best decisions I have made. You can trust him. I am very glad I found his business!

I took my Viking sewing machine to be serviced on 4/21/2020 and got it back the next morning. It works like a charm, again. Fast, friendly, and reliable service.

Great and friendly place

Rex has done maintenance on my Royal upright vacuum cleaner and it runs smoother, and more efficiently than ever. He also did maintenance on my Singer Featherweight which I use for machine-piecing my quilt tops. It is used almost continuously. Rex also did maintenance and repair in my Pfaff Sewing machine which had not been cleaned and oiled in decades - now, it runs perfectly. Finally, I had an unexplainable problem with the Featherweight-the needle wouldn’t go down into the bobbin to connect with the bobbin thread. Rex patiently worked with the problem (one he had never seen before) the bobbin case could not be removed. I gave him permission to use any means to extract the bobbin case - realizing the cost of this repair might be as high as $250., or more. I had nothing to lose - I couldn’t use the machine as it was. Rex was able to get the bobbin case out without causing further damage and the bill ended up just $150. to return it to me in its former perfect condition. His prices are consistent with the repair services he process and competitive with other service people. I would always recommend his shop to anyone. His service is normally very fast.

First time visiting this location.My overall impression was how clean the sales floor items were; mainly sewing machines and vacuums.The owner, although busy, did take the time to answer my questions. He was friendly and knowledgeable about his craft. My only confusion was where were the price tags for the majority of items. This led me question what was for sale? Everything? Or, were certain items on the showing floor already purchased items of his clients that were being fixed?Wasnt entirely sure.Id revisit however.

Best place in town for repairing a vacuum. Lots of modestly priced refurbished vacuums if you need a new one instead. Fair pricing and the owner is knowledge and friendly.

After patronizing this business for thirty years, my recent experience was unacceptable. I came in to buy a new vacuum and was told my current vacuum was a good one and probably just needed service. So, I went ahead with the service recommended by the owner. Unfortunately, after picking it up and paying $96 for the service, it still had the same problem I brought it in for. Namely, the height adjustment wasnt working properly and would either be too high on one setting or too low on the next. I explained this to the owner and he wouldnt listen. He used it on commercial carpet in the shop, that has no pile and is glued to concrete, and stated it works fine. At my home, which is where I use it, I have residential carpet and it doesnt work properly. I asked for a refund if he wouldnt make it right and I would give him the vacuum. He refused. So, I spent $96 for a repair that didnt fix the vacuum. I will not be back.

He knows what he’s doing and does it fast. Friendly, respectful, fun to talk to. Knows vacuums!! Only place I’ll go when I need help with mine.

The owner is the repairman too. He repairs sewing machines and vacuum cleaners. He does a good job at reasonable prices. There are lots of used machines of every kind and brand. I have gotten several machines worked on, and bought a few too.

Although I visited a ability sewing machine repair I did not do business with them because the prices were too high. If you are looking for High-Tech sewing machines they got them I saw one price tag in excess of $5,000. Sewing for me is basically repairing clothing to extend their utility.

Fair price. Speedy service. Rex WANTS customers to be happy. My sister and I are........We each took our very old machines in on Friday. Repaired Saturday! WOW!!!!

Excellent service, fair price and speedy! Brought a vacuum in for repair at noon and had it back four hours later. It works and looks like new. This spot has a repeat customer, for sure.

The old man was the rudest person I ever met! He also charged us 89.00 just for cleaning and making sure that the sewing machine was in working good condition. When I opened it it wasn’t even cleaned at all. Do not waste your money to this place! Not a good place to do business with.

He tried selling me overpriced vacuum bags at first and then pulled out a two pack for ten bucks and I said ok and pulled out my debit card and he wouldn’t take it because the purchase was under $20.

Excellent service for sewing machine and vacuum repair. Ill never buy a new machine again, instead Ill purchase a refurbished one from A Ability. To make a long story short: Dont waste your time taking a broken machine to a big-chain fabric store, opt for local service from an expert instead.

The brush on my vacuum stopped spinning. They were able to fix it the same day I brought it in!

Super fast and quality service my sewing machine was knocked off a shelf and started making a horrible chunking noise so I took it in here and a day later I have my machine back and it is sewing like new again.
