I very much like the postal service and have a very nice mail delivery lady, and she is always nice and quick. But someone different delivered a package for me and IT IS LUCKY THAT MY ITEM DID OT BREAK AFTER IT ARRIVED LIKE THIS.So please....be careful with how you stack and lay things..else you run the risk of damaging a product to be delivered...of the EXPENSIVE VARIETY.

I wish there was a ZERO option.I spent soooo long on the phone and CANNOT get ahold of a human. So many packages keep being delivered there and I want them dropped off at my house. I tried to request a another delivery attempt, but was told to go get my package here (pre-recorded message). These hours are AWFUL and I am not able to make it there to get my stuff when I need it. I wish you guys didnt exist and Amazon was the only delivery option. They always get my stuff to my house on time without any issues. EVER. I am so upset. This is the third delivery issue I have had with you guys in less than a month. JUST DROP MY PACKAGE OFF AT MY DOOR like every other person on earth. UGH! I am sure that in the small chance you ever even read this, that nothing at all will be done about it. So upsetting.

I am very disappointed with the upkeep of my local post office. How can our city allow a public service location look the way it does? Trees branches all over grounds, overgrown bushes, and grass/weeds all need to be addressed. I cannot even read the bottom of the sign because of the overgrown bushes. Can you please clean it up? I want to take this time to thank Dave at the Clayton, Post Office. Our package that was being sent to our daughter and granddaughters was sent out through Office Depot in Florida, and the label was typed with the wrong street name. I reached out from Florida to the Clayton Post office and Dave answered. He was so pleasant and reassured me he would do his best to find the package and put the right address on it. Yesterday, the package was delivered after being intercepted and the block name changed. We are forever grateful that our daughter and granddaughters received their gifts in time for Christmas and the package was not lost!! Thank you so very much, Dave!! You truly are our angel and Santa. Special thank you also to the carrier and clerks who traced the package and got it to the right address!!

Tracking indicates it left Clayton at Midnight same day... it took FIVE days to get to Raleigh! Was the package in a truck for five days? Delivery was suposed to be 2 days (1-3 on advertisement)... However, it didnt even leave Clayton for 5 days. THE WORST! and no recourse as only priority EXPRESS is guaranteed... fine print.

I have received other peoples mail on too many occasions over the years. Ive taken the initiative to try to have the persons come by my house to pick up their mail, and Ive called the Clayton NC Post Office most of the time to tell them about the issues and tell them how displeased I am with the delivery of mail. I have yet to receive the empathy that customers should receive. Im told to call each time this happens; but in the most recent case, an important piece of my mail was delivered to a house two doors away where the man does not actually reside most of the time. The mail that should have been delivered to me was postmarked January 19, 2016, and I received it from a neighbor on February 5, 2016. Now Im still trying to call the Post Office and all I get is a constant busy signal over repeated calling attempts. It is apparent that their phone is off the hook or out of order. I am disgusted with the lack of service, and whether the carrier is a regular carrier or a substitute carrier, the problem should be fixed. Each time mail has been misdelivered, the name and address have been correct and complete. Theres no excuse for laziness. I realize that there are many people working with the Post Office who do a great job, and I praise them for their excellent service. But, the ones who dont take their job seriously are a bad reflection on postal service. But, then customer service seems to have gone down the tube in so many facets of our life. And, now since I cant get through to the Post Office by phone, Im apt to be standing in a line there soon to voice my opinion (one more time).

In typical post office fashion, they are unhelpful when it comes to shipping anything that falls outside of the normal letter size piece. Good luck if you need to find a shipping solution that will help save you money. They just dont care - why should they? The desk jockeys get paid regardless if your package ships or not, makes it or not, or helps you do business or not. I can say this - on days where my business requires me to run to the post office, I can be assured it will be a hassle where I spend at least an hour educating them that I can in fact ship an item a certain way because I have already measured dimensions, shipped the same package according to their standards repeatedly and received information from their very own staff regarding the package requirements. VERY frustrating to go into the post office. Avoid it at all costs! On another note, my mail delivery person is the bomb. She is thorough and friendly. I often wonder how she has lasted so long with the rest of these schleps...Good luck. Serenity now!

And once near Christmas, there was a line that went out the door and I ended up not waiting more than 10 minutes. They’re fast and helpful. Remember, most people come to the internet to complain about places like this. Most who have good things to say don’t come review post offices but seriously, this place always surprises me for its efficiency and the kindness of the workers.Note: It’s not necessarily the fault of this specific office if your package doesn’t arrive. I see a lot of complaints like that, but most likely there was a human error further down the line which prevented the arrival of your package.

I went to the P.O. in January to inquire and was handed two bundles of mail and Christmas cards that were placed in the wrong bin.Ive gotten a dozen letters addressed to others since December. An important letter from the I.R.S. never materialized. Our mailbox is in a brand -new development, nothing complicated! My neighbor across the street(odd number)got my package. Finally, this past week a priority mail($6.70) envelope took 7 days to arrive from Middlesex,N.C. . Since we could track it, we know that this priority mail was delivered to the wrong address, returned, and found its way to us on the second try,a week later. No explanation attempted. All our important mail now goes UPS or FedEx,any wonder?

Well that didnt do any good...Ive been fed so much bullcrap...especially being told every day that the check hadnt come to the post office, mind you it was mailed a week ago. If the check was delivered to the wrong house....the check was stolen...I would rather be told that than for them to just lie and say the check never came. At one point I was treated like I was trying to steal my own check, after I did what I thought was the best thing to do and hold the mail for me to go there and pick it up. Another time, we saw on our security camera that she pulled into the driveway to deliver some boxes, laid on the horn (I guess for us to come out and help?), and then practically tossed our parcels on the front porch. If there were a way that I can not even pick ONE star, thats what I would pick. Over the span of 4 years that I have lived here, I can deal with the mail being late, sometimes even as late as 6-7pm, and that is pushing it. I have gotten things lost in the mail in terms of delivering it to others or receiving something. I sent out Christmas cards with the proper postage that have never been received, I have sent out birthday cards that have seen the same outcome and now I have to deal with a lost package. I put my mail on hold while I was gone on vacation, which I guess I should have known better and taken my chances in leaving it sitting in there. I called on the 15th to verify that both packages were present and were going to delivered that day. They were. Upon FINALLY getting my mail, only one was delivered. At that point, the office was closed and of course I wasnt going to be able to reach anyone, that would be too convenient. I attempted the next day ALL DAY and the phone was busy... ALL DAY. Finally got someone the 3rd day and my information was validated and I was informed well maam, the packages were here... she mustve delivered it to the wrong house. Well, no kidding. Then she proceeded to tell me that your carrier has cancer and is undergoing treatment so her memory isnt altogether there... I thought that was rude.. not only do I NOT need to know her personal information but the way she was saying it was as though it were an excuse. I am sorry for her current situation but if you cannot handle the job as it is, then you should probably take a leave of absence and focus on your health. When I saw her next, I asked her about the package and was lied to: Oh I wasnt your carrier that day. I had classes all day. At this point, it has been a month, and I am over it. I am beyond fed up and when I call to get an update, it is always the same: let me get your name and number and I will pass it along to the carrier.. FOR WHAT?? To get ignored and brushed off??? Something needs to be done at this location.. We need people who know what they are doing and who understand what the definition of customer service is.

Received a package at my home with a large, bolded sticker on it that said Do not bend. Of course, the package (and the book inside of it) had been bent in half, and one end of it had been torn open. I brought the package to the Clayton Post office, explaining the situation. I was told They would make sure that the deliverer didnt do it again and then.....nothing. I was supposed to accept that as a response for the destruction of a $27.00 book. I asked what further is going to be done about it, and the mood immediately turned sour as the lady I was speaking to ( who I later found it was the supervisor) asked me Ohh, did you want a refund?. From that point, it was told to me that she would take the package and launch an investigation into the matter in order to refund my purchase, and asked for my phone number. She told me she would call me in the afternoon to let me know how it goes. Well, 4 1/2 hours later, an hour before they close, I go back, not wanting to let the office close with no update. They grab her from the back, and she comes up, immediately telling me she hasnt done anything with it yet, because she had a route she had to run. She rudely reminded me 3 times in a span of about a minute that she said she would call me, regardless of what time it was now. I am now back home, no package (because I was told if I tried to take it and bring it back tomorrow, they would no longer handle the case), and no refund, with there being 25 minutes until closing as of the time I am writing this review. My advice is to avoid this place at all costs. They will string you along, tell you something to placate you and get you out the door, and not make good on what they say. This Afternoon does not mean tomorrow, thats all there is too it, I dont care what route you had to handle. Do not say you can or will do something if your not going to.

They are just LAZY and dont care about their job I would guess!! Pitiful excuse for mail service EVER!!!!!!

Wish I could give it no stars. They never deliver my packages that are due on sundays they just pass them along to a different post office to be delivered the next day so they dont have to do any work. They dont even stop by my house or give me a phone call.

I will never send mail through this post office again. They misplaced my tax documentation and it never made it to the IRS. I’ve been waiting MONTHS for my tax return and come to find out, it never arrived.

I dont understand how one office can lose so many packages. We send our samples out via USPS and many times our potential client says they never received it.

After the USPS messed up and didnt cancel our address forward request, the people at the Clayton post office were so helpful in retrieving all of our lost in transit mail and helping us correct the situation.

I was in the Clayton NC post office this morning and accidentally dropped the mail in slot before completing the mail preparation. 2 people only responded through the door. And refused to help me into store opened an hour later. What happened to customer?
