This gym is on point. Great layout. Nice and clean. Comfy chairs to rest in in the mens locker room. Super hot sauna (good). Cute girls. What else can a guy ask for?

I bought into a 6 month training program that I wanted to cancel a few days later. Rather than being told about my statutory right to cancel, the manager, Nico, told me I had to pay for a cancellation fee. Because that wasnt in writing, I now have to pay said cancellation fee.I only got one training session where he showed me some basic exercises and that was it. No diet plan, no exercise plan, no tracking. Since it was only one training session, I thought I might be able to get some sort of early cancellation where I didnt have to pay as much. Perhaps LA Corporate could do something.Nope. Nico sold me into something I didnt need and I was stupid and sick enough to bite. Corporate did nothing so Im paying a total of $869 for ONE training session.LA fitness is not worth anyones time. Theyre operating a legal scam. Go look it up on Google. The loss Ive incurred is pennies compared to others. Why even attend a gym with these practices who arent willing to compromise? LA Fitness is like a car dealership scam except you dont even get a wheel.

I decided to end my LA Fitness membership...1. I would like to work out late.. Because workSchedule always change.. Going to LA fitness They close At 10 the latest2. I remember paying $20 now a got expensive $32 . I understand eflation On minimum wage .. But why you have to take that on your customers... By increasing the monthly membership..

I took a spin class at the Otay lakes 2070 location. 10 minutes into the class instructor “Izzy” was insulting me over the microphone, 3 times. I have medical issues and couldn’t follow his spinning cues exactly. I had to modify my form. Instead of asking me why I was performing that way, he insulting me in front of the class. Very unprofessional

The gym used to be really good. Their give a very poor attempt to ensure members are wearing masks though! Some employees dont even wear them properly. I complained to the corporate office ,but they offered absolutely no help justify service.

Basketball court is small and there is only one. Would thought there would be 2 basketball courts at least. Also there is no out of bounds on the bball courts just a wall. Dangerous

Worst gym ever! They could not even cancel my account because there is no manager in the gym. That doesn’t even make sense. They wanted me to go to a different branch just to cancel my account. Ridiculous

Always crowded there and every other TV plays CNN. There’s also trainers that hound you to sign up for personal trainers.

This gym is fantastic under regular conditions. But with covid I dont think they do a good job to make sure that everyones wearing their mask properly.

Equipment was clean and the ability to clean as you go is appreciated during these Covid times. Social distancing is being used with effective measures, every other machine is turned off/unplugged/ or otherwise marked as unavailable for use. The locker rooms are spacious. The staff was friendly. All in all great first time experience.

Machines are great but youll never see the free weights racked on their proper spots. Not in the morning when you first walk in, not in the evening at the end of the day. Never. Youd be lucky to even find the weight you want to use.

I had canceled my membership during this back and forth with Covid going on for both myself and my family through email with corporate they confirmed through corporate that on 02SEP2020 there would be no Charges but they ended up charging me anyway and even more than for what my dues where. I called the center and spoke witha female rep who transferred me to a number that I was on hold for 30min so I called back a male answered took all my info and provided me with his name. I called back to request an email confirming only to be told by the female rep that that male was not even in the office so there was no way I could have spoken to him. She then gave me corporates number. I called back around 1pm to get a hold of the male I spoke with that morning who said he was the only male working there under that name and never spoke with me. Finally got a hold of corporate and the only thing they offered to refund back was the dues they just charged so around 300 lost........😔

The gym is a nice place to work out and signing up for the membership was fairly easy. The only problem I have is that the gym trainer that was suppose to train with me never communicated with me that they couldnt make it or told me that they couldnt make it that day. So I cancelled on having trainer and realized I would rather train myself instead. Isaac was just very unprofessional for me and I found it more unprofessional that no other employee informed me either. If your the type of person thats very organized with schedules then I dont recommend this place. I think this location is for people that has more free time on their hands. I guess its much better for a type b personality customers.March 11, 2019I came in with my daughter and was told that you pay $15.00 dollars a month for child care . Im looking at my bank statement and Im being charged $30.00. If it was $30.00 dollars a month then I would have said no. The person in the front desk is scamming people for money, dont know, what their doing or lacking the communication skills. I see this as poor customer service. I will just have to speak with corporate later instead.

This LA Fit is nice, but needs to adapt to current times

Nice place. They have just about everything you need to get a good workout. Just like most commercial gyms, it can get very busy at times. I like that the pool is heated. Dont really interact with the staff so I can not comment on that too much. But overall, so far so good on my one month there.

This has to be the worst gym out there. Fromt desk staff just sits theres on their phones all day morning and evening shifts, managera are never at present-as if the gym is running itself without one since Carrie left- and the staff likes to kicm everyone out at closing hours so they can bring thwir friends and work out privately after closing hours which i think is illegal what theyre doing.

Tried calling twice - both times I was put on hold for at least five minutes with the automated message “your call is very important to us. Someone will be with you shortly” every 30 seconds or so. I ended up just hanging up.The one time I got through to someone, I requested to freeze my membership and was told that I was given a complimentary freeze, but was charged for the month anyways. Very frustrating

Easy access, clean, lots of equipment

I got lied to by Jacob about membership cancellation. He said it can be cancelled over the phone and he just did it. Next thing you know I notice it still hasnt cancelled and I call back and he said I have to go in person to cancel it...Edit:I went inside and Ive got told that I have to send an email to cancel... Why on earth is it so difficult to cancel the membership?!

Amazing staff! and amenities! Gym has been very clean, ask for the membership managers Omar or Jacob, I promise they will help you in anything you need.

This gym has a decent size, I feel like I can use all the machines I want to use so that’s a plus. I love the sauna room it literally helps complete my work outs and feel brand new. There’s more than enough lockers and showers available. I wish they had the option to change the channel in the girls locker room to whatever someone wants to watch since some people like to relax in the lounge area. Other than that, I like the staff and all equipment work well.

Very nice facilty

This is my home gym. They did a renovation last year. Machines, free weights and cardio can all be done here. Theres also a shop next to the raquetball courts where you can order smoothies and protein drinks. Staff is very friendly and willing to assist with every inquiry. Just wish they had more up-to-date machines to hit different body part angles. Other than that, this place gets the job done. Sample parking as well.

The worst LA fitness I ever attended. What makes it more interesting is that the issues are not with the employees. Is with the customers that attend this facility. DB are misplaced, racked on the incorrect spot, equipment is taken from other areas never to be returned. C’mon people... Is not so hard to pick up after yourself. Straight laziness.

Awesome workouts that always challenge you, youll leave covered in sweat but itll be worth it. Great community of people, incredible trainers that always change up the work outs to keep them interesting. Sandstorm and 7x7 classes are my favorites.

This gym is needing some new cable machine attachments bad! Either they’re disappearing or they break and not replaced. We know the gym has money to replace these things. Also, they have to have the loudest treadmills ever! When running these things make so much noise that it even gets through your headphones and you hear it with music on. Come on LA Fitness! At least put some money back into equipment when all of these members pay for memberships.

This place is definitely NOT one to workout in. The childwatch was really nice its usually run by an older lady who is very nice. But i feel if she is not there the place goes crazy! They only got 2 people and it seems that they get stress out from time to time. It would be nice if they had more then only two people in the kids club.

Please be aware woman is taking photos in changing room of ladies undressed continuously. Manager does nothing about it. I saw her doing it 3 different days already. When I asked Briana receptionist to please go and see who it is and stop her she simply smiled at me and did nothing.Terrible management at this location!Filed police report today.

Really good gym. I tried it out using the L.A fitness week long pass. It was during spring break. Only down fall was that the gym was really busy but I just put it down to the fact that it was spring break because majority of people were pretty young.Machines were all well kept and they had a large variety. One of the workers came around and asked everyone what they were training and if they wanted and help or tips he was more than willing to help, which was really good to see.

Not sure who had the Idea to remodel this gym and not touch the restrooms. Always smells like a landfill. Dont think they have been cleaned since I joined. Cant even use them because you might catch a disease. Time to consider a new gym.

Love the Gym... But have issue with management at juice bar. Ordered a smoothie there after workout. I asked the nice girl that made the smoothie if I can have a water cup. She turns to what looks to me, to be her male superior/manager?, and asked if she can hand out a water cup. The way he answered was inapropriate. He seemed annoyed, responded with sarcasm, and just seemed very upset just for the reason of asking for a water cup. Hahahah, its just a water cup!!!A simple Sorry, we cannot hand out cups would have been absolutely fair. Its all in the way you say it. Sorry LA Fitness for the one start, but the juice bar is part of the gym..

I attend this location because of indoor facilities. The place features a 4-lane swimming pool, 4 full-sized racquetball courts, 1 full-sized basketball hardwood court, 20-stationary bike room, and mirrored hardwood hall used for Zumba classes & boxing. Need I say more? Thats why I love this.

This is one of my favorite LA Fitness to workout at. Avoid weekdays after 5pm because its all high school kids and youll never get a machine or free weights. Come in the morning or afternoon and its a great!

Great gym

Its totally about the timing. Its a good gym, the equipment selection has a heap of variations and for the most part the place is well kept. It does however become very busy. Sometimes it can feel really cramped. I find myself planning my workouts when its at its least busiest.

I tried this place out after reading all the negative reviews. Shame on me, they were right. Cancelled my sons membership and was still charged for the next two months. Called the gym and they wanted me to come in. Came in waited to speak to the manager and she said its cancelled now but could not refund my money. This is not what I would expect from management.As far as the gym goes, yes always crowded, weights all over the gym, a lot of teenagers on the phone making wait times longer, staff members always on their phones as well. Dont expect to be greeted on the way in or the way out, just wont happen.I personally would not recommend this gym to anyone. I think they need to get back to the basics of good customer service, clean facilities and working equipment. I would recommend management read their reviews and try to make a difference. Your whole goal is to get customers in the gym but also keep them.

When I signed up they said I could use the personal training area if it was not being used . According to a random trainer (not training anyone), Im not allowed there unless I have a personal trainer with me. So either the sales associate lied or the trainer lied. Either or for such an expensive gym membership they should really treat their members better.

I work nearby so this Gym works out very well for me. I only pay $20 per month and I have several options for adding a family member or bringing a guest. They will try to sell you classes once in a while, if thats not your jam just stick to your answer. They keep their equipment and locker rooms maintained and cleaned. They have a pool, basket ball court, racket ball courts (plural), two floors worth of equipment and they even have a daycare area for parents that need to get their workout in.

The staff and managers at this location are friendlier and more helpful than the other LA Fitness location I visited or 24 Hour Fitness I used to belong to, Kudos to the janitorial staff. They are really excellent. I am usually there weekday evenings and both people are always on the spot doing a great job cleaning up after the many thoughtless slobs that inhabit this place.Ive been work out with a personal trainer for about 3 years now and hes really great. If youre thinking about trying a PT, ask for Philam Garcia.A couple of down sides that I really dont like:1) A lot of rude people who sit on the equipment using their cell phones or chit-chatting with their pals instead of making way for someone who wants to use the equipment. I wish the staff would be more aggressive in managing these bozos so that people who really want to work out vs. just socialize dont have to waste their time.2) There are not enough free weights in the 5#, 7.5#, 10# and 15# range. They keep all of them locked up in the class room, which doesnt do anything for anyone. Really irritating.

Great Facility, Love the kids club and I have had nothing but good experiences with everyone including the head of Personal Training Edgar. Looking forward to a great year with this gym and many more to come. And for the all the bad reviews about not being able to cancel your personal training contract I didnt encounter that sort of problem, I originally signed up but for financial reasons I could not keep the commitment so I was let out of my contract.

I have been trying to work with them politely; however they do not care about lifes little problems with their customers. It is Their way, or You pay!I have a new job that happens to be during the same hours their management team works. Of course I start out with no vacation hours. I tried calling several times, talking to several different people about canceling my account. Each customer service rep and manager I talked to would NOT work with me; in fact I was just hung-up on by a manager! This brought me to the point of writing this review.I was told I have to physically walk into their office to cancel my account, or send a letter to their corporate headquarters. I tried sending the letter; however my new month rolled-over and my auto-payment went through. Now I cannot get my money back!

It does get overcrowded at times, and the free weights area is way too small for a gym of its size , got added to a friends membership so dont know about all those extra fees and scams that people mention on the other reviews. I like the size and parking is big enough too bad is a little too far to go everyday

This was a difficult rating for me. It is definitely one of the nicer looking LA Fitness locations. Im pretty sure it is fairly new. However the second floor can be oppressively hot and stuffy, almost as if the airport conditioning is not working. Thats a big deal to me. On a more positive note, the equipment is all in good shape and there is plenty of it. Although the weight lifting area can get a little crowded. I really think they should open a new location in the area to cut down on the crowds. Also I have to travel quite far to get here as this is the closest location to me

Staff is phenomenal. However, a terrible atmosphere for working out when the gym is crowded. The only time I can get a good workout is 4 a.m. during the week or 6 a.m. on Sundays. Otherwise, its a high school atmosphere. Not for most professionals.

Best LA Fitness in South Bay when it comes to equipment. However, they need more squat racks. Three just isnt enough and there always seems to be a wait.

Tried calling and after having to hold because they cant find my file, they tell me I have to come in and speak to the operations manager to cancel. I dont have time for that with packing. This place is crowded and always messy . I dont recommend this place and its building looks huge but the weight room is small. Not only that but they tried to rip me off , I payed for two membership passes with both having guest privileges but they only gave me one

This gym is spacious, well equipped, and very clean. Ive enjoyed the various classes and employees are friendly and knowledgeable.

Returning member since 2011-2013 (when the gym was nearly new). The only reason why I reactivated my membership in 2017, was for their Tuesday Step Plus Abs class with Arthetta. But this year they replaced it with (another) Zumba class. Without my favorite class, I am reluctant to look elsewhere. The gym facilities got old quick, air is musty when you walk in, and everywhere is crowded. Too many people at the free weights, makes it difficult to schedule a workout properly. They dont have accessible equipment similar to the ones sanctioned off in the personal training area. It would be nice to use kettle bells, medicine balls and ropes on my own, not necessarily with a trainer. If youre just starting off with the gym, this location might be okay, but if you want less crowds, better quality classes, and access to good equipment, another gym may better suit your needs.

Best gym in the south bay area, if you love working out and have a fitness goal, this is the place for you.

This is funny, Im looking for a gym and was looking at the pictures before selecting a membership. The pictures shows the free weight area, where I think two people are actually working out, everyone else is on their phone sitting, doing nothing, just hogging up equipment. Maybe try looking in 24 hour fitness or a cross fit gym where they actually work out.

This gym is recently remodeled. There is plenty of equipment and space for most lifters.

The gym itself is fine, but when I tried to cancel my membership over the phone, they told me I had to go to the facility and talk to the Manager. 10 minutes later I went there and they told me the manager couldnt see me and and had to wait for someone else. This other lady helped me and told me I could not get a refund for the one month deposit I paid at the beginning and then assured my membership was canceled. Next month I was charged again and called to let them know they mischarged my account and the Manager told me they dont have any record of me canceling any membership. They are so nice when they are trying to sell you a membership at the beginning but once you are trying cancel, their attitude is very impolite. The Manager told me they cant refund and theres nothing they could do, even when it was their mistake, not mine. Hopefully this time they actually do their job. Be careful and have them sign any paper when canceling!

To many kids not there to really work out and us more like a hang out spot, also staff seems to be more interested in trying to flirt with each other and customers vice help

Good experience same as before except for the changes brought on by the pandemic, some machines have been put out of order to socially distance people but it makes it harder now to find machines that arent being used.

This gym is not for anyone that wants to seriously work out. Most of the time it is filled with people sitting on machines and the staff does nothing about it. Most times the weights are scattered all over the gym and the staff does nothing about that either. This is a good gym if you are in high school or dont mind standing in front of a machine while the person on it sends a text novel. One saving grace is a few of the staff at this location are nice enough. Over all though the customer service is sub par. The clubs hours are okay most of the time but terrible on the weekend. Over all if you are looking for a new gym this is not the one.

The facilities are great but the staff is super petty about not allowing to bring your bag to the floor no matter how close you are to it, but you can bring a tote or big purse or if your a female its okay. LAF get it together its not serious

This place is a scam. My son when in for a three day pass and was signed up for a memebership. He realized what they did and we went back the next day to cancel. I guess they didn’t like that and the next day they charged his account. We called to request refund and the person said we had to wait to speak to the supervisor until Monday because only a supervisor can do it . I guess the sales manager can’t help either. 😡

Pretty standard gym however the hygiene is horrible. Hardly anyone seems to clean their equipmemt after using it. I have been to other gyms and they usually have 1 or 2 staff members on the floor cleaning equipment but since I started going here I havent seen anyone clean at all. I let the person at the front desk know about this issue and he said there was nothing he could do, people are just dirty. I highly recommend to take your membership elsewhere like chuze fitness or even planet fitness they are less inexpensive and they are a lot more cleaner than this over priced gym.

And extremely corporately run Health Club where you dont matter its all about the numbers the sign you up with your New Years resolution knowing that you will fall away in the next two or three months but continue to pay your dues for another year number crunchers and lawyers run this outfit theres a bunch of Pawns and tools in your local Health Club it is corporately outfitted and the answer to the shareholders first not you the customer

L.A fitness is a scam they charge way to much money, plus they always charge me extra every month and they end up refunding me my money but this time they stayed with my money and claimed they returned it. Honestly its not about the money but they really need to get managment to work and show the workers what real customer service is.

I went into this place interested in signing up because they have a suana. They made me wait 30 minutes to talk to someone about membership and to view the facilities. The whole time Im with the sales guy he uses hard close sales tactics. I get frustrated and choose to leave. Then the guy blows up my phone for 2 weeks. I find out about my AAA insurance membership giving a discount waiving the initiation fee and giving all club access for $29.99 a month, so I see a new sales guy at Walmart who approaches me. I tell him that I have a AAA account and that Im going to sign up through there unless he gets credit and can arrange the same deal. He tells me he can and takes down my contact info. I tell him dont blow my phone up and only way Im going to sign up is under the same terms as the AAA deal. He says ok and then calls me saying I need to come in on Sunday at 3pm to get the deal. I show up he sits me down and tries to get me to pay full price I repeat what I told him in the Wal-Mart, then he spouts off a bunch of sales BS and says he can get me a deal with only a $30 initiation fee. I tell him hes making me mad. Then he tells me he has to check with his manager about the AAA deal even though he already told me he could set up the same deal. These guys are full of BS, dont believe a word they say. Just sign up with AAA online and dont get ripped off.
