We brought our Girl Scout troop to Chicago for a fun trip. I cant say enough great things about staying in the Magic Factory Loft. First of all, Basil is a great guy! They live in the building and are attentive to your needs. The location is excellent! There is a bus stop right outside the building and the train is 1/2 mile away so its easy to get anywhere you want to go. Its only a short ride to the Magnificent Mile. Marianos grocery store and Target are a short walk away. The neighborhood is nice and we felt safe walking around there. The girls loved the very cool park that is only a couple of blocks away. The loft is very clean and well stocked. We cooked most of our meals and had everything we needed. It is a beautiful apt with upgraded finishes. I would definitely stay here again and Ive recommended it to another troop. Thank you Basil for everything!

We loved this beautiful four bedroom space. The bedding and art and the pristine hardwood floors gave a stylish first impression. Three bathrooms with lovely tile work gave our party of 8 easy access and privacy. It was so much fun to all eat together around the table that seats 10 and the kitchen provides plenty of space for cooking. There is a nice view of the city out the west window and off the small balcony. It’s a really good location within walking distance to the the train station.

Wonderful spot to stay. Had 8 colleagues staying here and it was fantastic. location is great and the loft was super clean. will most certainly book here the next time we are in chicago.

This place is amazing! Easy check in/out. Beautiful view of some downtown buildings. It has everything you need. The space is great, beds are really comfortable and everything was really clean. It has a great kitchen space with an open kitchen/dining/living room set up. Great for big groups of people to stay. Close to subway and bus stop, plus easy walk to a few grocery stores and shopping.

Basil and Carole are great hosts. Our flights got in 5 hours before check in and with a simple call we were let into our the house early.Very clean and spacious, close to everything. Having on-suite bathrooms for each bedroom is very convenient.We were able to walk to many places, the location is perfect. Went to a Cubs game and it was only a 10 min Uber ride. Went to downtown for dinner and it was 10-15 ride. Highly recommend this place and their owners. 5 stars!

We had a wonderful time at the Magic Factory Lofts in Chicago. Our group of 11 fit comfortably and Basil was the consummate host. Everything from parking (free on street) to check in (Basil met our group and explained everything we needed to know) to the amenities was great. If I could give 6 stars, I would!

Absolutely loved this gorgeous loft! It is extra spacious, beautifully decorated and well equipped. Our family had a perfect stay here and absolutely would book it for our next trip to Chicago. The location was wonderful, the street very quiet at night but with easy access to all the attractions. Its also really great to know the hosts live in the building and are there in case you need anything!!

Stayed at Magic Loft for a girls weekend and had a great experience! Everyone loved the plentiful beds and bathrooms as well as the keyless (but super secure!!) entry. Basil and Carole were awesome hosts- very communicative and ready to help in any way needed. Would definitely recommend this spot for a big group!

Five Stars!!! We absolutely loved this spacious loft!! It was so comfortable, clean, well equipped, had a great location (walked to grocery stores, dinner, along river, shopped at close by stores) and safe. The views of downtown Chicago were amazing from our private balcony!!! The furnishings were a mixture of brick, beams, art, a table for 10, metal bar stools, wood like floors, 3 huge comfortable couches (placed in a U for easy conversation with large groups). It was an open concept floor plan in main living area, had 4 bedrooms and 3 spa like bathrooms! Basil and Carole were outstanding hosts! They communicated well, provided many recommendations and were on site managers. Upon arrival, they provided us with a basket of tootsie rolls, tootsie pops (home of the tootsie roll as did not know this!) and fresh coffee beans from nearby for the morning! This hospitable gesture was very much appreciated! Loved the keyless entry, spaciousness, location and easy transportation from their loft using Lyft/Uber! We were extremely happy guests with such a beautiful place!!Their loft is perfect for business or leisure! I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who plans to visit Chicago!!! Know we will book here again when we return to Chicago. In addition, they informed me that they have a place in Athens and conduct Greek tours! That is definitely on my bucket list!!! Thanks for allowing us to use your place for our college reunion!!!

When we decided to make a full family trip to Chicago we looked for something that could accommodate our whole family. This property was not only in incredible condition, it was exactly what our family needed. Our trip was made by our accommodations, highly recommend.

We had a great weekend in Chicago at the Magic Factory Loft. The space was big enough to fit ten of us comfortably. We had a view of the city and we were close enough to Uber downtown for about $15 - $20. Depending on where we were going. This was very convenient for us.Besides going out we did spend time cooking at the place. The kitchen was updated with new appliances and had all the cook wear we needed. There is a Whole Foods walking distance and other shopping centers nearby.Each room had its own bathroom and they were very well kept. The place also provided fast Wifi and a tv in the living room. This place also has a nice balcony. We picked it because it’s close to downtown and to local shopping. We were really happy with the space overall and would definitely stay again!

We were fortunate to spend 10 days at the Magic Loft in Chicago. It was a fantastic stay. The owners were so welcoming and periodically checked on us(but never intrusive) to insure that our stay was enjoyable. We enjoyed learning about the building and their journey in transforming it. They also shared the background on the whimsical art throughout the home which was so fun to hear. The location is great. We are walkers (completed the Camino de Santiago in 2019) and found this place to be in a perfect location; walked to Old Town, Downtown and even to dinner in Fulton Market. The condo is fully stocked, wonderful kitchen and lots of space to stretch out. Without hesitation, we would stay again and enjoy the best of Chicago! Thank you Carole and Basil.

We immediately felt at home here. The decor is an international bright feast. It is spacious, has comfy beds and all that is necessary to be your home away from home. I could have stayed a month!

This place is wonderful! Very clean, spacious, and well-stocked with everything you need. The owners greeted us, answered any questions, and were easily available if needed. Nice neighborhood, close to things even with COVID restrictions. We were a family group ages 7 to 70s and had plenty of room. We’d certainly stay here again.

Excellent accommodations— just like the photos. Gorgeous well-appointed kitchen, large relaxing TV area. Everything was super clean. Carole met us on check-in and was helpful with Chicago recommendations. Looking forward to (eventually) seeing what her places in Greece are like! Would stay here again without question.👍🏻

Wonderful experience and fantastic hospitality.

The loft was absolutely perfect for our needs. Our party consisted of my parents (in their 70s), my sister and her two teenage boys and me and my two teenage kids. We booked the loft to spend Thanksgiving with my brother who lives and owns a business nearby and cant take off for holidays so we take Thanksgiving to him every year. The space accommodated us with extra beds left unoccupied. The beds were very comfortable and extra blankets and pillows were available in the closets. Three of the four bedrooms have full, attached bathrooms (the fourth bedroom is just across the hall from one) with roomy showers and plenty of hot water. Things like soap, shampoo, conditioner and hair dryers are provided along with fluffy towel sets for each guest. The kitchen has name brand, high end appliances and also provides hand and dish soap, dishwasher detergent and garbage bags which are things we have had to supply at other places we have rented. Everything we needed to cook an entire Thanksgiving feast was found in the kitchen and there was plenty of service ware for such a meal too. The location was great with groceries within walking distance and bus and train service very close to take us anywhere we wished to go. I worried about street noise as it was mentioned in other reviews but, although we could hear traffic, it wasnt bothersome at all. The hosts were very accommodating, helping us find parking (which was very close and free with the tags they provided) and answering questions quickly. The unit itself was spotless (we are very picky about this) and well maintained. Interesting artwork on almost every wall, comfy couches that allowed everyone to sit and visit in the living room and access to an elevator are all pluses for us. We have already discussed staying here again next year because it really was perfect.

Well-appointed loft, perfect location, and clean. Hosts were gracious and had lots of good tips on how and where to enjoy the world-class city of Chicago.

The loft was a perfect size for our extended family of 6 adults and 4 children. The amenities (linens, appliances, cookware, furniture) were top quality. Carole and Basil were very responsive and helpful. The location is perfect - close to the Red Line, Whole Foods, a movie theater, shops, restaurants, etc. This was our third stay here and we will return.

We had a great visit to Chicago and the Magic Factory Lofts provided us a great place to stay! The condo was spacious (it had a HUGE kitchen), clean, and quiet. Carole and Basil were wonderful hosts. The condo location was within walking distance to lots of restaurants and stores. We did not have a car, nor did we need one. The North/Clybourne Red Line station was a short walk away. The neighborhood was quiet and we felt comfortable walking around it. We would definitely stay at the Magic Factory Lofts again!

Carole and Basil were fantastic to work with prior to arriving at the lofts. They gave us grocer recommendations, restaurant options and responded to inquiries quickly. The loft was PERFECT for a girls weekend. We had 12 girls and it worked so well, from the beds being comfortable and each of us having our own to the balcony and kitchen that was open and airy. Having a key-less entry was helpful for our group as well so we didnt have to worry about someone being responsible for a key. The neighborhood was cute and had everything you would need in walking distance. I will absolutely be renting from them again!

My friends and I rented a loft for a weekend getaway in Chicago. We had a fantastic visit! The apartment is exactly like the pictures--warm, spacious, comfortable, and well-stocked. The building is secure, and in a great neighborhood, close to restaurants, shopping, and anything else you may need. We walked to everywhere we wanted to go that weekend. The hosts are accommodating and easy to work with. The loft was perfect for our group of three couples and a baby--the hosts even had baby items for our friends to use which made it really simple. We plan to stay here again next time we are in Chicago!

I randomly stumbled across Magic Factory Lofts while looking for a place for my colleagues and me to stay at while in Chicago for work. I couldnt believe how luck I was to have found it. Looking at it online, I was impressed with the layout and with the amenities. When I arrived I was more than impressed with what I encountered. Everything was as they promised and the property was beautiful and spacious.The owners Carole & Basil were the nicest couple and brought me some beers and a few miscellaneous needs I had. It was truly an enjoyable experience from both a professional and personal standpoint.I would 100% recommend staying here if youre looking for a 3 or 4 bedroom place. My cousins stayed here when they were visiting from Ireland. The location is perfect! Close to Lincoln Park, Old Town and a short trip to the Mag Mile. Carole and Basil are the ultimate hosts! They could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Everything is in walking distance: Whole Foods, Mariano’s, North Ave. shopping, Steppenwolf Theatre and great restaurants.The apartment is perfectly appointed: fresh linens and towels, all the appliances you could need, cutlery, pots and pans and the place is extremely fresh and clean.I highly recommend it!! You won’t be disappointed.

Phenomenal property and experience. Six life-long friends (3 couples) stayed here in January 2018 for a birthday weekend celebration. This property was perfect for us. While we could’ve all stayed in a fancy hotel, by staying in this loft apartment, we were able to spend time together in the common room...and catch a nap anytime we wanted.Booking was painless and efficient. The owner, Carole, was on point, thoughtful, efficient, and incredibly responsive. She had great suggestions for everything and anything we needed. The 4 BR unit was well appointed, luxurious, spacious, quiet, and super convenient for our needs. I would not hesitate to return again when we travel back to Chicago. I have no reservations whatsoever in giving Carole and the Magic Factory Loft my highest recommendation.

I stayed here with a group of friends over the winter holiday and we could not have picked a better place to be our home away from home. Our loft was incredibly spacious, impeccably clean, cozy and beautiful. Every detail was thought out, from the amazing black out curtains to the toiletries in the shower. Carole and Basil were great hosts!!! A couple of small problems that they helped us work through, internet/cable. But their response was immediate and helpful! The place is a great space you can really spread out in. And because of all the security in the building, we all felt completely safe. The property was immaculate which is such a comforting feeling when youre staying away and the beds VERY comfortable. We found the entire city was just a short Uber ride away!! The kitchen was gorgeous, although we didnt cook in it, we simply picked up small bites to eat at the Whole Foods two blocks away!! I would definitely recommend highly!

Carole and Basil were very accommodating and gave us great references for food and attractions within the area. The location was great to tour all of Chicago and it was the perfect size for 12 people!

Great location - 1-2 blocks from subway station, restaurants, bowling and some shopping. We used uber or a driver and location of property was easy to find - about a 10-15 minute drive to Michigan Ave (depending on traffic). There is also a Whole Foods within walking distance, which we found to be very convenient. The property itself was fantastic for our family of 4 as everyone had their own bedroom and en suite. Each bedroom had multiple beds though so would be ideal for a girlfriends weekend or a guys weekend pad. Local property managers greeted us upon arrival, provided an explanation of provisions, how to use thermostat, those basic need-to-know items.

We stayed at Magic Factory Lofts 2 East over Labor Day weekend and it was the perfect condo/location! Safe neighborhood with tons of shopping and restaurants nearby. Easily able to Uber/Lyft to various parts of Chicago for fairly cheap. Perfect for a girls weekend and PLENTY of beds!Carole was extremely helpful and offered up great recommendations.

This place was perfect for our long “guys” weekend. Great common area with plenty of space and natural light. The appliances are very new and worked perfect for cooking. The bedrooms were huge with a ton of very comfy beds, and each room had their own amazing bathroom with new showers. The location was ideal with a handful of great restaurants/bars/breweries within walking distance. Free street parking outside was a huge plus; we parked our cars and left them there all weekend without any trouble. The downtown scene is only a 10ish minute Uber away. Carole was not around during our weekend but she answered our texts right away and Adrian was fantastic with helping us get settled and answering any questions we had. Would definitely stay here again and I recommend it for any large group getaway.

The loft home was even better than we expected! It very comfortably slept 12 girls for a bachelorette weekend with 3 spacious bathrooms. My communication with Carole and Basil prior to our arrival was great. They were always quick to respond and provided a ton of helpful recommendations for transportation, restaurants, sightseeing, anything we could think of for our weekend in Chicago. The keyless entry system made it easy to coordinate with a big group and the location was great...close to public transportation, Whole Foods, restaurants, and breweries. I use to live in Chicago and I would highly recommend Magic Factory Lofts for any group or family events in the city. The home was clean, big kitchen, comfortable beds, and had everything we could possibly need. Carole and Basil even welcomed us with a large complimentary bottle of local beer and delicious homemade baklava. This is a MUST stay!

My family has stayed at the (truly magical) Magic Factory Lofts. We loved the quiet, perfectly appointed and perfectly located apartments so much that we are guests of Carole and Basils nearly every time we are in Chicago. We also have extended family in the Chicago area, but prefer the spacious apartments at Halstead, near North Avenue because everything is there. We are steps away from the Steppenwolf Theatre, wonderful cafés and places for brunch, excellent shopping and delightful parks. Surprisingly for Chicago, parking is easy to find, often right in front of the apartment. The location is also well served by public transportation. But I neglected to mention the most important features, the apartment itself. We have stayed three different apartments at the Magic Factory Lofts and each one is huge, with plenty of clean, comfortable bedrooms, large kitchen and great room for dining, conversations and relaxation. The kitchen features all modern appliances, stone counters and gourmet features. The shelves are well stocked with everything you need to prepare and serve a sizable crowd and nice features, like spices, coffee, tea and the like.You will love it and if you need something extra or need advice for your adventure in Chicago, Carole and Basil are the perfect hosts. A phone call is all it will take to get you what you need.

Time and again this home away from home has delivered for me. A true five star experience every visit. Ive stayed here with colleagues on business trips, with friends getting together and even alone on personal trips to the city- the city I used to call home for more than 30 years.I love Chicago and staying at Carolle and Basils is the only way to re-experience it like the local I used to be. What a perfect location! Walking distance to famous North Avenue and Clybourn Corridor for some of the best shopping in Chicago (REI is next door and the Apple Store is around the corner -should I say more?). Steps from Stepenwolf Theater, fine dining, casual dining, bars, coffee shops, movies, Whole Foods and even Indoor Skydiving, lol! And the best part is that you get all that from an address in the neighborhood that is most unassuming when you arrive. Like a true local Im telling you.When you are ready to explore further you are a short Uber ride to EVERYWHERE! Public transportation options are plenty, as well. The Halsted Bus can take you to LakeView to the north and Greek Town to the south passing by chic Lincoln Park/Armitage area and foodie Mecca Randolph Street on the way. The North Avenue Bus will take you to the fun filled North Avenue Beach to the East and to hip Wicker Park to the West. And if that was not enough, the Red Line Subway stop is 3 minutes away and will take to downtown and all beyond. Last, if you are driving, street parking is easier to find than 99% of other Chicago neighborhoods.As far as the quality of the accommodations is concerned prepare to be amazed. If you are like me and appreciate well appointed kitchens and bathrooms (every room has a private bathroom) you will be very happy. It feels like everything was carefully selected with comfort and sense of luxury in mind. Nothing pretentious – just classic, old world, homey luxury. Like I said before, its a true home away from home but wishing mine was as nice, lol!Last, Carolle and Basil, what incredible hosts and individuals. They got this! They care! They know what they are doing! They want you to have the most fantastic experience. People who have stayed with me in the past and met them are still talking about them. They know everything about Chicago and hospitality. I tip my hat to them. Bravo!
