I’ve never had any real problems here other than it is super tight, it usually takes me a bit and sometimes a spotter to get in. The staff are usually pretty friendly. I will say I hate coming when it’s busy though. You can check in an hour early but if it’s busy be understanding.

I gave 3 stars because of the location and the fact it was 2 hours past my apt time before I received a dock assignment. I’m not to sure why people say this is a blind side dock situation because it is not. The backing isn’t bad, just a basic sight side slanted back up with a fence line In front of the docks. No overnight parking available here and I would use the app smart truck route to route me into this facility. It’s downtown Chicago and almost every way has low clearance bridges you will not fit under.

This place wasnt that bad getting to. I used the suggested app SmartTruckRoute along with my gps. I also called ahead just to make sure I was supposed to pull down 42nd place. A little tight, its a site side back in. Had a little help ensuring I was backed in to the dock properly. Not a bad place for a newbie like me to try to manipulate without a guide. If your squeamish about backing into a small area this isnt the best.The only reason for 4 stars, is the docking area could use some new lines. I followed onset and it turned out it was off a foot or 2.

Pretty organized but slow southern Chicagoan company. Will make you wait at every point while speaking on the phones most of a time, no help to back in tight docks, hope for yourself or other drivers. Be careful with the weight. They loaded 46.5klbs having 40klbs on bol . Straight to my blacklist

Im a temp as of right now,but if you want to work and you a team member, and you like a clean environment, then this is the place,remember theres no I in team,in order to be a great leader you have to be great followers,good luck with your job search

Fast unloaded but very tight driver backing next to me hit my truck. Trucks should unhook not enough room.

6 1/2 hours to get a door. 5 1/2hrs after my appointment. One of the slowest shippers I have been to. Reject this load if you can.Ended up being here 12 1/2 hours. Had to return the next morning because they loaded over gross.

Only gave two stars because of the location. If youre coming here, better plan your route very carefully. There are low bridges everywhere that make it a real pain to get to the site! Only seven or eight docks with room for only two trucks staging. Tight backing...not recommended for newbies! Friendly staff though who got me into a door quickly.

Shipping docks are on the backside of the main entrance (turn in across from Bank of America). The third party security company will lose their minds if you are directed to a dock, but turn in the main gate by accident. If you do, save yourself some grief and stop and talk to the guard. The shipping side has no guard or guard house you have to mess with.The general area is tight, but manageable, the shipping docks are easy to maneuver into. OSI staff are extremely nice and easy to deal with. (I am sure that is as long as you dont come in attitudinal, in which case then you get what you asked for.)

Come 0700 am, appt 0700 am , pull out 13.10 pm without load 09/11/21 , dont come or book load here

Well this customer has an employee who works the docks area blk male with an eye patch very very rude to drivers. Sign on the door was very worn and some what readable. The way he talked to me that morning was because I walked in to the building to check-in. The door was open. After I went back and read the damage sign,it said call to check-in. If he was one of my employees he would have been wrote up or sent home for the day. First and last time here.

Friendly people. Dock is a blind side but easy. Overnight parking available just ask where they want you. Guard shack is open. Check in half hour before appointment.

Very nice people working here. Narrow docking area, very tight. Only flaw is drivers that are in too much of a hurry get in the way of maneuvering in and out of docks.

Small loading zones hard to get into but once in they load you up relatively fast we were there for about 3hrs not to bad

I arrived at this place at 5/8/20 at 2pm for my 3pm appointment. Waited a total of 8 hours from 2pm to 10pm to get loaded. The loading docks on West 42 place where refrigerated trucks go are tight and narrow. The alley way to the loading was also tight and narrow. No communication from the shipping department about the hold up of my freight. Trucks that had appointment after me were loaded and gone.Im definitely not coming back to this location. Very unpleasant experience.

For pick ups enter 42nd pl .park on your left by the fence and call them.tight docks but not impossible. Everything went smooth for me.god bless.

How the hell did I get tricked into coming to this nightmare again

Tight area especially if trucks already there, backing is tightish, have pillars in between some docks. Showed up 5 hrs before appt and was out 2 hrs before appt (1500 appt) the place is down an alley way stay to left when you pull in to check in with gaurd. The way i came was off of i90 take w 47th st exit all the way down to ashland ave take a right, then right at light at w 42 pl (reefer entrance).

Different people in different situations. I personally was empty in less than an hour with a full trailer. Nice people. They have a restroom on both sides of the building. The only inconvenience could be kinda tight space for back up on one side of the building and you have to back up from right(blind spot) on another side of the building. Overall, 5stars. Thanks

Beware of this place. Tight place sometimes a turn around but mostly blind side back. Appointment at 14:00 unloaded at 07:00 the following day. Guard checks you in and calls office but they might never call you. They will use you as storage.

Quick not to long to wait...Receiving is on 42nd St all the way to dead-end on the left. Very tight.

I have been coming to this cold storage facility for 10 years. Long enough. Its like backing down a back alley and trying to maneuver about. Its a mess, and it is a joke. Only I am not laughing. The folks that work here are second to none. They know their job. Sometimes it difficult to see them move. But these are good folks.

Picked up four pallets here took about 2 hours. Docks are kind of tight. Overall not a bad experience. Refrigerated drivers use 42nd place to enter stay to the left up against the fence. Check in door is on the far side of the docks says receiving but its shipping and receiving.

The employees are nice but it is tight and no room for trucks to maneuver. Unloaded in 45 minutes.

I’m waiting for loading more than 4 hours, nothing happen, no one words about it from them

Ive been here for 6 hours and counting. Other trucks have come after me, loaded, and gone. I went inside to inquire as to why I am still here and the employees made a joke. But nothing is funny to me! I had a 4pm appointment. I got here early and was told that I had to wait until an hour before my appointment to check in. Its now 10pm and I am still here. This is ridiculous! I guess I have to act upset like the other driver did to get loaded in a timely manner.

Ridiculous wait times when nobody’s in the dock doors want you to go park on the street rather than on their property in Chicago ridiculous place avoid if all possible

I have been here a few times. Hard to get in and out of if theyre busy. Frankly, Im surprised Tyson has their name on this place. Lady at the driver check-in desk was nice but when I got there she was on the phone cussin and fussin loudly, very unprofessional. I stood there for nearly 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged. Dock workers seem nice enough.

I come this place 2-3 times a month. Have your tandem much closer to you until you line up to the dock, then slide them to the back, because its much easier and faster. Im tired looking at those drives who slide tandem first and have hard time to back in. I tried to tell this other driver after he tried many times. When I approached him and before I open my mouth he said I can do it, thank you . Nope He couldnt until I pulled out the dock.

Even though there’s not a lot of room to maneuver. It’s not a bad place. My appt was for 1700. I arrived at 0800, was put in a door at around 1015-1030. Was gone by 1100. Works for me. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾

Today an employee of OSI seemed to be expecting me,as she told me to back up to door 12 while I approached.They are the most friendly and on the level with truck drivers.They get your truck loaded fast so you can move on.Thank you OSI.

First of all, call the reciever in advance to ask which docks you have to go to, if you go to the wrong entrance you will have hard times to go back, considering how crowded with truck this place is... Second, not much room for backing, 3rd- no idling, 4th- 6.5h for unloading and counting, 5- its in an area with a heavy morning and afternoon traffic, so thats 2-3h more. In my case, I spent here the whole day just for delivery, so 1 star, people are nice here but this doesnt help me much

Well thanx to Andrew and Kirby below I managed to dock. He is right use 42nd place from Ashland. As for the service goes, not too bad. The only issue I had is that I arrived at 1pm for an appointment at 4pm. ( a little early I know) so the lady told me to come back at 3pm, well I wasnt about to turn the truck around and come back 2 hours later so I just waited in line till 3. It wouldve taken an hour just to turn this thing around in this small area. And also they do take for ever to load.

If delivering here, good luck. Barely adequate room to maneuver. Otherwise not bad.

Good receiving dept for the most part, they dont physically check seals at gaurd shack or at receiver office is my only complaint

Had a 10am apt to deliver, got there at 930am still waiting to get unloaded at 8pm they unloaded 3 trucks all day on north side dock 9&10 what a joke, Recieving forklift operator and supervisor should both be fired

The guy at recieving was very unprofessional and got offended when I asked if i can count the load and asked how they were going to load it. I usually dont care but this load was 44k pounds. He was cery hostile and thought he was going to attack me. Gave up called the broker and let them deal with him.

Worst receiver ever, been here 8 hrs for 22 pallets. When I asked the incompetent woman’s at the receiving how long it’s going to be they said: well at least 1 hr but we got no idea how long after the hour.

Bad place from 10 am to 4.30 pm loading in the door then I left the company i was 50 miles away from it they call me and told to came in back couse the put me a wrong palet and now they unloading me again to find that palet.now is 8.15 pm and still here.
