This place has some great product. It is a wholesale business, selling to restaurants and stores. People there are great and know their stuff.

Everyone was friendly and courteous. Parking was on side of street to get unloaded. Just make sure not to be there early because of no parking area to wait.

As a small business owner myself i seldom write negative reviews on other small businesses because i am well aware of how detrimental it could be. That being said unfortunately i have no choice but to share my god awful experience at this store. I have owned and been in the restaurant business for over 15 years and i have never been treated with such utter disrespect, and absolutely disgusting customer service. It all I started when I called my order in to be picked up since my family is having a birthday bbq for my wife. Seeing that I was feeding 25 people and i wasn’t privy to the knowledge of their meats per pound prior to the call so I began to inquire on pricing as well as what other products They offer that they recommend for a bbq (pretty general customer service questions that any front desk operator for a company should not only be able to but is delighted to answer Them for you). Instead of simple happy answers I was responded with grunts, swear words , and a general disinterest to taking my call. At the point I made an order but decided to change one thing because I felt as if it was over priced. At that time the man on the other line (his name was John) huffed and puffed and said “now your order form looks like complete shit” the called me an idiot and questioned “how does your wife even put up with you not being able to make up your mind it must be hard to live life as you”. I completely ignored the insult placed my order and drove to the store to pick it up. It was then when my experience became even worse. From the moment I walked in because I have tattoos and I’m Latino I was greeted with disgusted looks and an old man wearing a mask under his chin (mind you that’s a health violation when dealing with food) who said “what do you want you pickin up for someone?” Completely assuming I’m delivery/pick up person because of my appearance. I told him I had an order for pick up under taste of Havana (my restaurants name) he called in the back and a man brought out my meat not wearing a mask and or gloves and wearing gym shorts and no hair net ( all of which are health code violations. I almost positive I counted 7 violations in total). When I placed my order I was very clear that I only need 6lbs of skirt steak and the man say he put 7 packages in the bag cause they weighed out to 6lbs and then walked in the back . Having a feeling he was lying And trying to get me to over spend I said that I only wanted 6 packs because 7 packs just felt like too much and requested he weighed it out. The man behind the counter than got visibly upset and made a completely rude comment. He called the previous person back in to reweigh the 6 packs since they were initially charging me for 7 low and behold the 6 pack is a little over 6lbs(the exact amount I requested) he then got very red in the face, embarrassed because I caught them doing something shady to upcharge me. After that I decided not to take the sausage that I ordered because they misquoted me by 6 dollars on the phone. At that time the man behind the desk became even more rude. I kept my cool the entire time even though I’m a PAYING CUSTOMER and was being treated like dirt on their shoe. I own 5 Cuban restaurants personally and my family owns bet 15 different style restaurants all over Chicago. Majority of which use you to supply them. Unfortunately for you guys after I call them all and inform them of your unprofessionalism I can guarantee they will stop going to you for business. You all should be ashamed of yourselves.

As the sign says, they are open to the public, despite what the exterior might tell you. Youll have to be buzzed in - and there is no show room. Youll be led into a dank office where two old timers sit at grimy desks and await you to specifically tell them what you want. When you decide, they send a command over the PA system in the back, where likely a blood stained white jacketed man will appear with your cut. Cash only - they deposit the money loosely into a desk and send you on your way.
