We were on our way to a chain auto parts store when we saw this place, so we decided to try here instead. INCREDIBLE customer service and very kind employees who helped me get the parts I needed. When I got home and couldn’t figure out how to put on the license plate bracket, I called back and they were able to install it for me for a very reasonable fee! Also very thankful they are following COVID precautions! This will be our go to place from now on!

AWESOME! I got a new battery that was more powerful than the one I had for 50% less than what I would’ve paid for the one that actually goes with my vehicle. The 2020 Chevy spark LS has a battery in it that’s really small and doesn’t have that many cranking amps. I purchased a new battery which has almost 80% more cranking amps and cost 50% of what the Chevy battery was going to cost. I paid $94 for a new battery and they installed it while I waited and I was in and out of there in less than 30 minutes. Great Products and excellent service.

Beware when buying from this place ,owner son is very dishonest,,has bad customers sevice..before purchasing make sure what is the return policy, however the owner is a onest person. But for this reason mentioned on top, we will never shop their again, but will like to mention they do have the best prices compare to their Competitors, . hopefully Hector will train his employer how to treat a customer. I read the reviews and was a bit nervous. I’ve gotten parts from here in the past, but never had any work done . My aunt swore by them and only trusted them(Hector) with her cars. I didn’t know what was wrong and couldn’t really explain it. I called and told them that he said to bring it in and he’ll have someone ride with me to see what the problem was. Well don’t you know it didn’t happen. We rode for about fifteen minutes took it back to the shop. Hector told me to bring it back in the morning and leave it for about an hour and they will find out the problem, no charge. I did, and he did. He gave me a price and a time it would be finished. Just like that my car was done. I’m very happy. I’ve heard how Hector spoke and I can see how it can appear to be rude, but I did not experience that at all. In fact I think he was very polite and especially helpful with women customers. Being a women getting work done on your car not knowing if your getting ripped off or not means a lot. It wasn’t just me, while sitting waiting, I saw his interactions with several other customers. He was not rude and again extra helpful with the women making sure they understood what was what. I will be returning in the future and recommend this shop.

I have used Tiger on a few occasions in the pass. I was looking for a part for my Lexus truck and he did find the part. The price did change but he did split the difference. If you know the manager you know he has a big mouth but a great heart. I will shop with him again if I have to but I hope I won’t. Lexus part are not cheap at all. I was happy he did find the part because I couldn’t.

First time there I got there with one issue left with multiple. I wish I never told that I had a long drive ahead. Asked to check on my suspension, they said everything was cool, and that I could go where I needed to, but my axel fell off a couple blocks down, I had to evacuate my vehicle back to them. I’m not saying that they did something on purpose but I certainly felt this way.This time I trusted my mirrors to be cut out, even this took them forever. They didn’t call me about delays, I had to go there and they refused to give me my mirrors back until the glue dries out, but they gladly requested me to pay upfront.Their main guy, always gets defensive every time you say something. I see that they’re so many years in business but have no idea how to provide a good customer service and speak to their customers. Their sign says “Sometimes cheap is too expensive” but I think for their case it should say the opposite.

Maybe a place to buy parts, but do NOT let them touch your car. After “repairs” were made, they lied to me, claiming test drives were done and the car was running perfectly.... after I picked it up, the car barely lasted a block. This happened TWICE! The second time, the car died, was even hissing and leaking exhaust into to the cabin... all in a sad attempt to replace a clutch.Bad customer service, Hector does not listen (forgot to even change the oil after 3 reminders), very defensive, refuses to admit nor refund his mistakes. $1100 to replace a clutch, another $400 to fix the damage they made during repairs.Also, they didn’t even tell me they broke the hood release lever, they apparently hot-glued it back on... (see attached photo).Ended up taking to another shop, found out it they totally misdiagnosed the issue... it was just bad ignition coils, not the clutch at all. Car runs just fine now.

Your button that you installed for $200 only worked for two days. And after I brought it back you lied to me. It was not a bad starter. I had to return the brand new starter and get another one. The car still didnt start. The cable that connects to the starter didnt have any juice. I had to run a new wire to the button myself.

You are much better off going anywhere else. Overpriced, inconsistent, and incompetent staff. Hard to believe a place like that is still in business, maybe not for long..

If you need auto parts or tools this is the place. Ive been coming here for a long time and even after I moved. The guys who work here and Hector the owner know their business and its always good to have someone with lots of experience tell you whats what. Thanks for your advice, always been helpful.

VERY high on there prices

Needed a tune-up, oil change, and some work done on my brakes. The guys did a good job and my car was ready when they said it would be. They also charged a reasonable price so I got a good deal all around.

Heard great things about this place until I had my own experience we went 2 times to purchase parts for my vehicle went 1st time for a refund due to wrong parts recieved full refund now I go back to get refund on my wife vehicle parts that were also wrong and Hector gave a partial refund. this place needs to get their act together they are going to keep losing good customers who give great referrals

It is zero stars actually. I had a problem with steering wheel and drove this place since it was closest. A guy told me they will do free inspection and I am going to pay only if I decided to let them fix my car. After inspection another guy, I think he is the owner, asked $69 for inspection. Their estimate to solve the problem was $860 and he was talking about possible more charges. I did not trust them and went to another closeby mechanic. They fixed it immediately, just some part was needed to be oiled, that it. It was $25 job. I think their business strategy is robbing customers as much as possible who came there by chance.

These guys are great! walked in needing some ignition coilpacks for a VW, they didnt have on the shelf but were able to source and hand deliver them to my door in under an hour on a Saturday afternoon. I will continue to patronize Tiger for future parts needs.

It isnt easy finding a good quality machanic, alas I have found my go to.

Went to this auto parts store with a friend of mine who lives in Wicker Park and even the store was pretty crowded each customer was greeted and taken care of quickly and efficiently. Very Impressive.

All good things to say about Tiger Auto Parts. Theyve always had what I was looking for or were able to get it quickly and I never felt I got anything other than a good deal.

Very nice, very helpful, went above and beyond. Called several auto repair places to get prices and they were the cheapest by $100. They also helped me try to diagnose the issue over the phone, and gave me several very useful tips. Ultimately, i had to have their tow truck come pick up my car and take it to their shop. They called about an hour later and told me what the problem was. Fixed the issue promptly and i was able to pick up my car a few hours later. I had also taken some plastic splash guards off my car while trying to troubleshoot the issue, and they put them all back on free of charge.

Really cool people. They have really help me out a lot of getting good parts for half the price or just cheaper than autozone

Once again I stopped in at Tiger Auto Parts and with some help from Hector I got what I needed. Is there a better auto parts store in the Chicago area? I dont think so.

The service manager is very abrasive. Tried to push me into things I didnt need in a very aggressive and condescending manner. This is not your typical shop talk. I emphasize abrasive. I explained that Im a new customer and a referral, and that I didnt feel comfortable making these decisions over the phone because of how he was talking to me. He did not change his tone. Our first conversation ever was rude and appalling. Read the reviews on here and on Yelp. Please dont make my mistake.

Brought my car in for emissions repairs. Ever since they fixed it my engine is now twice as loud as it was before. Dont bring your vehicle here.Edit: Response to ownerIm happy that my car passed the test, and if people feel like spending $600 to fix a valve leak to pass the test theyre more than welcome to, but Im not happy that my engine now runs noticeably louder than it did before and I was given no reason for this when I picked my car up. Also, the fact that you charge $69 just to check a vehicles codes when NAPA right down the steet does it for free is ridiculous. Im never bringing my vehicle into your shop again and I will recommend the same to anyone I can.

I once was a satisfied customer but, no longer. The review I would like to impress is dont let your guard down on this place as they will rip you off if you do not ask questions before you sign or pay. Long story short I was told one thing and then another with the excuse, you must have wrote it down wrong. Buyer beware but, I dont do business with one I cant consistently trust.

I needed a new headlight bulb and upon learning (via YouTube) the amount of work needed to change the bulb I decided to have a mechanic do the work. I then went to return the bulb they sold me, which was never opened and still in original package, and they refused to return it. They said that all auto parts stores wouldnt return it but checking the others they do not exclude certain items and WOULD have returned it. I would avoid this place at all cost! Go to another parts store and you wont regret it. I am now stuck with a bulb that goes to nothing I own.

Tiger auto parts gets a bad rep and I think it deserves better. I live around the corner and on more than one occasion have turned to Tiger for a little help with my car. Recently I needed a 7mm socket wrench to take apart my dashboard. The Tiger auto parts guy talked to me on the phone and had it ready. When the socket wrench rang in at thirty dollars he stopped the cashier and went to the sale table for one for $5. A year ago the same guy helped me troubleshoot the starter problem that Saturn Ions were just recalled for.

This place and the manger is so disrespectful to customers. You come to return something they tell you read the sign on my computer we dont take that back. Read the receipt it states the same thing. You read the sign on the computer its different than whats on the receipt which by the way you only get after you have already made a purchase with these guys. You are correct so reluctantly they take the return and now you are going to pay a restocking fee to put a can and box back on the self. (This is how they make their money) No regard for anyone but likes to say we been here over 45 years. You want o support small business but with this kind of attitude toward the people that have allowed you to be in business hopefully it last another 45. You will not receive my business anymore but hey it starts with one customer and it could trickle down, You can conduct your business a lot better if you dont want to be there stay home.

If you return some spare, they do not want to give you back the money, they tell you that they will give you a credit for something you need after not at the moment.

I took my car there to get fix . I paid almost $600 & the problem was still there. My car actually sounded louder once they finished. Not only is their work garbage there customer service is even worse. NEVER LET THEM TOUCH YOUR CAR!

Was told it would be $69 to figure out what was wrong with my car even if i didnt get any work done from them. Agreed to have them look at it. After waiting over an hour and a few people had finished up that had arrived after me was told that i was going to be charged $115 for diagnostics and labor for a 15 min job even though their posted hourly labor rate was $75. Either tell me youre charging for labor or dont tell me there a diagnostic charge. Wouldve been cheaper if i paid the diagnostic charge and immediately after told them to do the work than just letting them do their job. I came here to get my car fixed not play games.

Tiger Auto gets another 5 stars from me! Although I dont live near them anymore, I go out of my way to take my car there. Recently, I needed a new battery and alternator - I called them to let them know I was coming in and they were kind enough to send a tow truck to tow my car out of the parking garage it was in at a price that was less than what I had been quoted by another company. Hector and his son, Cary (Im assuming how he spells it) are wonderful. They always remember me when I come in or call and they always call me before doing anything to my car to double check that Im cool with it. Something Ive always been impressed with is that they go out of their way to find a used or less expensive part if it can be substituted without compromising quality. It might not be PC to say, but as a woman who doesnt know a lot about cars, it can be intimidating to take your car to a mechanic and feel confident that youre not being overcharged. I have never felt that way at Tiger - I know when I take my car there that Im dealing with honest, straightforward people who deliver great service at a good price. A couple of months ago my boyfriends car was making a strange sound when you hit the brakes - I took it right over to Tiger - they had a look at it and told me they couldnt find anything wrong with it, but to come back if it happens again. Of course it didnt make the noise anymore - typical - but instead of trying to charge me for something they were honest - this is why I trust and love these guys so much.A few of the other reviews mentioned the gruff-ness behind the counter and the grumpiness and yelling at employees - Ive been a customer here since 2004, so going on a decade almost - its part of the charm - they all yell at each other - its a family owned neighborhood auto parts and bodyshop thats been in business for over 30 years, not the Ritz Carleton (also, sometimes its loud because cars are being worked on!). Hectors not grumpy per se, hes busy and running a business! Ive personally witnessed on occasion other customers who were rude or haggling him to the point where even I wanted to say enough already dude, this is a business they need to make money too youre already getting a good deal. His grumpiness is nothing personal, just a man whos seen it all and doesnt have the time for b.s. Once he knows you a bit, he is exceedingly friendly, jokes around and will give you great restaurant recommendations in the neighborhood! Being in that business in that neighborhood for so long, I am willing to bet he could tell some stories.As for the reviewer who calls himself Caustic Critic and felt the need to name call and hurl childish insults - your comments are ignorant, immature and uncalled for. What you write in your reviews tells the reader that you lack character and integrity - there is a way to write a tactful review if you have had a negative experience and not insult yourself by stooping down to such a low level. Thats what douchebags do.

I would never bring my car back there 1 they always see different mechanic the short guy in the front is real rude I brought my car for a check engine light they said it was an O2 sensor so I told them to do it picked up my car and a day later to check engine lights on again so I brought it back to them then they tell me its a catalytic converter should I tell him I dont have that kind of money and a short guy in the front got railroad told me to get out the funny part is it was an O2 sensor code cuz I had it checked out somewhere else then I went somewhere else and it was a O2 sensor code again so I had them check the new O2 sensor and it wasnt no good so they put a different one in now I went back to tell them that their O2 sensor was no good and he wouldnt give me my money back for the part or the labor what a lousy place to go to I wouldnt tell anybody to go there stay away the rip offs
