I was given the best welcome services by Village green office staff. Our new home is nice and my family loved it. My wish was to have washing machines inside our homes than in the basement. Thank you so much - From a verified resident on ApartmentRatings

We recently helped our son find a new apartment so he could be closer to work. We looked at several properties and ended up choosing Village Green. The location is excellent. So close to so many things. The staff we dealt were terrific. We’ve heard good things about the Mills organization and this experience supports that. The staff was very helpful and their follow up was excellent. Our son chose a unit that had been partially upgraded. It appears many of the units are in the process of being upgraded (new floors, kitchens, baths). The value as compared to what else is out there appears to be very good. We’ll update the post in a month or two.

Horrible place to live cant wait for my lease to be up and if you have kids DO NOT MOVE here you will be threatened to be thrown out if your kids walk heavy, even I you pay your 1258.00 a month and never been late. Not to mention your end up with late fees no one will be able fix and all they have to say is oh well pretty much.

This office is terrible and all the apartments are in a rough condition. The storage room they provide for each tenant is nothing but a wooden frame with a wire fence wrapped around. There is sewage all on the ground in their basements where the storage rooms are, cockroaches and bugs in summer time. Their laundry machines have never been cleaned and gave me a horrible rash from my clothes. The rash went away when I started using an outside laundry company.

Very nice indoor and our door pool on site which i have to say is always clean and very well maintained. great parking and even has covered parking which is always nice. grounds are always very well kept along with buildings and always doing upgrades. apartments themselves are roomy and comfy and well taken care of and the staff are on top of fixing anything that needs fixed.

The list is long and distinguished as to why I am giving this place 1 star. It used to be better. Ive been here 7 years. They continue to raise rates and the property declines, yet market value goes up. Their responsibility to their residents goes down. Lighting in buildings dont get changed, no one cleans them. Doors are broken, walls are deteriorated, and yet....rent goes up?They mess up paperwork, charge YOU for their screw ups and then hide behind the guise of you risk us terminating your lease. Make you promises and dont live up to them.Every complaint Ive read in these reviews, are 100% accurate. Courtnie the assistant manager has no idea how to work with people or even properly manage. This will be my last time here.Save yourself time, effort and money.

I have rented here on three different occasions while transitioning, having homes built, and finally during a year of renovation. Total stay averaging out to 7 years. The staff have always been very courteous and kind while being attentive to my requests. I chose the Village Green because of the size of apartments to fit my families needs. The grounds are beautiful and the apartments big. It is to be expected that maintenance will be occurring on a regular bases just because of the age of the apartments. The office staff have always let me customize it and make it a home for my family, as long as I return it in the condition I received it. I have always chosen the patio levels so that I could have my grill and table set to enjoy the outside atmosphere. The apartments are being updated and I would like to see newer appliances but it does not change my review. I enjoy the amenities of the pools and exercise center. It is sad that parents are not taking charge of their children’s vandalism of public areas such as pool, restrooms, etc... I prefer to be proactive and get together with other residents to turn in the offenders. Again, the Mills could hire security guards but that will come at a cost. I’m saddened by the discriminatory remarks that I’ve read because the Indian population has been nothing but kind to my family. Yes, we are diversified but not enough people are talking on the positives of living here. We are centrally located and in the best school district of Parkway. There are many shopping and restaurant venues to choose from. The area is accessible to all the hospitals, parks, and recreational facilities. As for maintenance, every issue I have brought up as it occurred has been addressed within a timely manner based on the severity of the situation. AC not working addressed within one hour of putting in the request. Plumbing handled immediately within 15 minutes of call. Noticed a bug or 2 handled before days end and put on a pest control monthly list. You can’t get a need met if you don’t articulate your need. If you address and treat people with kindness they will return that kindness. If you address out of anger you create problems for yourself and others. Another truth is we all have bad days but it’s how we choose to get through our issues that will define how we get through our problems. I am grateful that my family experiences have been positive and any issues were resolvable. I can’t speak for any other experience but my own. I enjoy the village green apartments and recommend it highly.

I ended my lease before my actual lease end period by paying the lease breakage amount along with that i paid two months rent (for my 60 days notice period, which is fine as it is already in lease terms), but unacceptable thing is they collected water/sewer/trash utility fee also for that 60 days which i didnt stay. Is it acceptable to pay water/sewer/trash utility fee which i didnt utilise? Many worst things are there to mention about this apartment, i had a very very bad experience during my stay, i dont want to waste my time again here on writing my bad experience here.

DO NOT MOVE HERE! This place is impoverished. The hallways are dirty. They dont take care of the grounds. Several residents complain about DUSTY vents and POOR AIR quality. We moved into a dirty apartment. This place is GROSS! The pool is frequently closed due to people messing it up. Whatever that means. Paying West County rent to live in a SLUM! Dont leave your car running here unless you dont want or its a bait car.

Prices are expensive and keep on increasing during lease extensions with out any limit. Office staff changed recently and they are rude to tenants and do not respond to emails and no proper response. We hear noise or voice of people who lives besides our unit or ground /Top floor units. office staff lied to me few times when I visited leasing office. Hoping they would rectify tenant problems and fix it. Few months washer and dryer did not work and all of a sudden it stops working. again it prompts for money for washer or dryer. Recently they installed two dryers/washers and increased price. You do not get quality for your payment.

I have been staying here for a while and we recently moved to new building and that was the bad decision thinking its close apartments to work. When moving out the old apartment management lost the inspection sheets submitted and they charge us even for their faults, management doesnt inform back any details asked for even though they mention they will nor respond to complaints for maintenance. If you are looking for something peaceful to stay please dont come here.If there could have been a better rating less than 1 I would have choose that. Thanks management for making the renters suffer. As renters we dont want to run around you every time wasting all our time.

Dont move here, they dont care residents. Have been living here for about 6 years but in the last few years the service has become worst. The maintenance staff are good but the leasing office staff dont care about the residents. My nature of recent service request needed us to be away from the apartment. I scheduled the service with the office and went out for 2 days. After we came back the service was not done and there was no word from the staff and did not even respond to my emails.

I lived there for 4 years and moved out in Jan. What was once a nice place to live turned to very unpleasant with terrible service. The one star that I gave is for maintenance people. They are very friendly and solved issues in timely manner. The pool which was once nice, cleanliness and well maintained was turned to filthy, showers were broken and sauna room was locked and never turned on.Basement laundry room was dirty and flooded whenever there was a little bit of heavy rains. The worst part was move-out, refundable deposit. I requested the refundable deposit about a month later since I moved out. The office lady lied to me few times when I gave calls. First time she said the refund check was sent out but returned due to a wrong mailing address which turned out to be a correct address. And next time I called her, she told me it was sent out a week ago, but never arrived. After two months and half later, no check was shown. so I called her again, and she told me this time that I owed money due to some repair jobs. What are you talking about Maam? I have all evidences of paper works that confirmed no-damage was found and clean and it was signed by one of staffs during final walk through. But the funny thing was even repair cost was charged, they still owed parts of my deposit money. I finally gave up after four months, because it was really tired of calling them and arguing repeatedly. Just be cautious when you move out.

Talk about a fire hazard waiting to happen. They install new dryers and washers in our building of 11-12 units with 4 washers and 4 dryers. 2 of each do not work. The two washers over flow all the time, flooding the laundry area. The dry pipes were not installed correctly and are not safe to use.

I have lived here for 7+ years and there have been ups & downs. This property is a Mills property and I am moving into another of their properties so Im hopeful for better there. Keep this in mind because its IMPORTANT to understand the demographics of this particular community! It is predominantly an all Indian community. What does this mean? It means that their culture gets in the way of respecting others who are non-Indian. The property has gone down & looks very bad inside & out mostly due to the way in which the Indians choose to live. They leave their trash, shoes, toys, items of all kinds in the common hallways and on their patios (because they mostly live on the main floor) for you to view the trash piled up day after day. We have had several roach infestations and they almost always REFUSE to allow the exterminators in their place to solve the roach problems. They also never have furniture in their homes and so the noise level is so obnoxious that with me being ABOVE them it sounds as though they are on top of me!!! All day long they allow their children to run back & forth stomping through the weeee hours of the night. They do NOT care about no other tenants but their own people of India. They will park in your reserved parking and in illegal parking causing us to almost wreck our cars coming & going! I have had a shouting match during the summer because they sit their babies in the parking lot and kids playing in the parking lot and if you turn into our lot, there is a dip where you cannot see if someone was sitting on the ground where they SHOULD NOT be at all which is beyond dangerous and is child endangerment!!!... YET they will give a dirty stare if you almost hit their kid where they themselves have put the kids in danger and so I have called Child Protective services on them. They will walk in the middle of the road and ALWAYS expect you to drive around them! The property managers can only do so much when you have most of them tearing up the place constantly! I hate to sound racist BUT this is the fact! During the summer our building gets an awful deadly odor because of their rotting trash that they only remove once a month regardless that the trash dumpster is very close by. We have 2 elderly sisters in their 80s who live in an adjacent building and they have ZERO respect or compassion for them because theyre not people of India and they will block their parking, store their junk on these little ladies patio or leave shoes piled where these ladies could trip and fall and get seriously injured. THEY DONT CARE! At the pool they will swim wearing full on clothes which makes it an unsanitary situation & they will take over and suddenly begin to physically push you out of their way. They can be very racist & dont assimilate well here nor do they want to and thats fine, but I wish they would have some HUMAN compassion... This year alone I have seen non Indians move in and move right back OUT within 1-6 months. Their noise is constant and the children can do whatever they want with no discipline from their parents and this includes running and stomping and slamming doors for hours upon hours thought the entire day and night! So I have had enough! It is time to go! I stayed this long to look after the elderly neighbors BUT I cant even continue with that at this point. Roaches are beyond embarrassing and this constant death odor is something I will not miss! I think they should have to get furniture as part of the lease! So unfortunately they will wipe anybody else out of the community at 100% very soon and it will look like these apartments belong in the worst GHETTO of Missouri! Just drive in and youre sure to see hanging clothes, old shoes, garbage bags, and broken pieces of WHATEVER hanging over balconies and on their patios to display these apartments of Chesterfield Mo! Other than that, the office staff and maintenance have been zero problems for me. I will post photos once Im gone this week to show the tragedy of this community.

Beware of your vehicle. I live in the neighboring community and have witnessed 10-14 y/o kids checking cars for unlocked doors - probably to rip off sunglasses, cell phones, etc. I run them off but this is way too common; I know they reside there, because they have mail keys and try this crap in broad daylight while checking the mail.

Ive lived here twice. Once when I was about 12 years old and then again when I was in my mid 20s. Back in the early 2000s this place was owned by Berkshire Hathaways real estate arm and it was much better funded than it is now. That was apparent very quickly. The tennis court used to be redone every year, the common areas were much cleaner and the Sauna/Shower rooms were maintained regularly. During my second stint here, around 2015, Mills Apartments was the owner and I think they still are. They dont put in as many resources as the prior owners and it shows in the amenities and common areas and lack of well funded community functions. I actually had to email management about the ceiling breaking apart in the common area in my building, because it looked dangerous. I think they did start transitioning fake wood floors into most of the apartments however, instead of carpets in the living room and kitchens, so that could be a plus. Basically, it used to actually be a somewhat premium place to live, and now theyve taken the lowish rent/low expense route to keep apartments filled which has definitely attracted a different type of client than it did at the turn of the millenium.I still recommend it. I know theres some old reviews about bedbugs but I never had any problems with that in the unit I was in off Bixley during my second stint here. We had a good deal our first year but they wanted to raise rent by around 15% the second go around so we didnt renew. This is a very culturally diverse place to live in Chesterfield and also economically diverse so that was kind of cool. Never had any problems with crime or break ins personally with my car but some of the other reviewers seem to so be careful. Its a nice location being so close to 141. Maintenance was always handled timely so that was nice. They do charge for water and sewage which is very unusual in St. Louis and they also tack on some fees (they are upfront about them during leasing) that other places dont. In other words, make sure you factor in their charges into their rent so you compare rent to other places apples to apples.

They let me plant flowers and stuff around it to make it mine. I did see someone put the basement had water in it, I had a problem with that at another place I lived so I got a pallet and I take it with me when I move and I have rubbermade totes and they are always my bottom level when I am storing things!!
