Ive been a AAA member since 1997. Had to wait on the phone twice for an extended period of time because their online towing assistance will not let you finish the process when you at near the end of it.However they sent A1 Towing to me in Cleveland TN as the the local services here have not always been dependable and sometimes end up canceling on you while you have been waiting.David called me and told me he was on his way and was about 35 minutes out. I expected longer because I always seem to have bad luck. He was on time and got my vehicle home quick. Thank you David and A1 Towing!!!!The car was sitting at a gas station overnight and I went back to get it mid morning. The oil plug came out. We have 2 smart cars. The other smart car had the oil plug stripped and the business that did the oil change had to repair it no charge. Now the other place I switched to is going to have to fix this. Beware if you own or ever get a smart fortwo.....

I shredded a tire on some construction debris during an interstate trip, and ended up on the side of I-59 just south of Chattanooga. AAA sent me Chip from A1 Towing, and he couldnt have been nicer, more patient or more efficient. He put on my temporary spare tire, gave me advice for driving on a donut and made sure everything was secured in my car and ready to roll before he left. I was a little freaked out -- the tire shredded just before a thunderstorm -- but Chip calmed me down and even recommended a place to get a full-size tire put on in Gadsden, AL. He went the extra mile for me, and I appreciate it!

Quick to respond and very helpful. We had to get repair work done and were given an estimate to the penny before they did anything. Everyone was extremely nice when we went into the office. We will probably use them again

These guys exceeded our expectations.We were traveling cross country when we became stranded on the freeway towing our 5th wheel.They towed both of our vehicles and let us park our 5th wheel in their yard overnight while our truck was being repaired. They also recommended the great Diesel repair shop that fixed our truck. Would recommend them anytime.

My car was towed by this company and there was a dent and a scrape on the drivers side toward the front that definitely was not there prior to it being towed. When I called and told them about it, they just said they weren’t responsible for damages. 😡

I broke down in a HOT Saturday afternoon while getting gas just off Hwy75. I asked a local guy (named Brian) for a recommendation of a trustworthy shop where I could have my car towed. He mentioned he worked for a AAA rated shop, then asked what was wrong with my car. He spent 45 minutes trying to get me going in his day off! His family waited in the car while he worked his butt off to get me going - I cant say enough to convey how appreciative I was (am!). We eventually decided it needed to be towed.Justin called me on Monday and was able to complete the repairs as needed in a timely manner. The price was fair and reasonable. Excellent job by this company. Too far for me to drive, but if I lived in that area, they would be my new place to service all my cars. Thank you!!

Locked my keys in the car while stopping for gas at mapco 12 hours into a 20 hour drive. The driver had just happened to be there. He quickly unlocked my door. Was fast professional and saved me so much time, money and stress. I cant thank you enough. I wish I would have got your name. But thank you so much 😁

Chip, the tow truck driver, was not only ahead of schedule, but he was very polite, conversational, and patient. He offered to wait with me while my ride came to pick me up - thankfully, it arrived as he asked me, so it wasnt necessary, but he is a very hospitable individual and I highly recommend him if towing is ever needed.

I wish i could give a review about this place without being required to give any stars but this is the only way! right before Christmas my axle went out on my vehicle, which is a monte carlo ss. I had to park the car at the closest convenient store which was fine because i checked with the clerk before hand. Since my husband works near this place i stopped in everyday to check on the car and make sure it hadnt been bothered in anyway. Well for obvious reasons on Christmas eve and christmas day i did not due to the fact my husband was off those days. on the 26th of Dec i discovered that one of the clerks had called and had my car towed by this company.After i had to pay $750 for the initial tow and storage fees, i paid another $75 for them to tow the car to my home. Once the driver got to my house with the car he was INSANELY RUDE! I had never seen or spoken to this man in my life so his off the bat attitude was a little shocking. i asked him to give me a moment to move the other cars around so he would have a better place to unload my car. he told me to hurry of he would leave my car in the middle of the street and that he didnt care, I PAID FOR THIS TOW THEY WERE NOT DOING ANYTHING FOR ME FOR FREE! After dealing with this jerk my husband, whom is a mechanic came home and inspected my car.. Of course it was DAMAGED!!! the trim piece around the back bumper was cracked and broken im assuming because they tried to hook onto the bumper! Which makes me think their employees have no idea what they are doing! not only did they do that damage one of my dual EXHAUST PIPES WAS MISSING COMPLETELY!I do not suggest using this company! They are TERRIBLE and apparently damaging peoples property is something they are VERY FAMILIAR WITH!They are crooks and take advantage of people who are forced to deal with them. I am filing a claim with the BBB and if i were AAA i would remove my affiliation with this company.The worst part of it all is both myself and my husband called them trying to get them to fix this situation and i get told its not their problem and i couldnt prove they did the damage (YES I CAN!) when i told him i have photo evidence that they did the damage, he tried to say my car was illegally parked, again NOT ACCURATE! the car was in a proper parking spot and i also spoke with the male cashier at the convenient store. When i informed him of all of that he hung up the phone on me. These people are BEYOND UNPROFESSIONAL, THEY ARE CROOKS, and unless you want to have your property dismembered i would not use them!

After our car failed to start it was towed to their facility on a Sunday afternoon. Kenneth, the tow truck driver, even waited with us on our Uber to get us to our Airbnb. The following day they found the problem, repaired it and had us on the road back home by 11:30am. They were great.

Roy gave me a tow on Labor Day, and Im appreciative of his help. He was timely and made the experience easy. I had been connected with A1 through AAA. Thank you!

They camped out at the election commission office on the last day of early voting after a big storm washed out some of the parking lot. Instead of using their truck to block off the parking that was washed out and extremely muddy, they parked right next to the bad area and kept letting people drive in to get stuck. The man was laughing at me when I was trying to get my partners car out and charged us $100 to pull it over a curb (the entire process took him about 2 minutes) and it messed up the undercarriage of my partners car instead of towing it backwards. Would never recommend calling this company if you ever need help...he was extremely disrespectful and messed up our car and his response was basically “oh well.”

Absolutely TOP-Notch company! I found myself in a difficult situation and needing a flat changed. I called A-1 and they sent Austin to help me out. He was kind and professional and very efficient. I was out of town and my key fob stopped working and I needed to get to the dealership. John had an amazing attitude. I was his first call of the day and he took such good care of my car. He could not load the car and had to call around looking for additional supplies. When he was unable to find it he told me he would be back as soon as he could. I was glad to have such a great person to help when I was stranded.

We had a wonderful experience with our tow truck driver. We were from out of town and he assured us that this was just a bump in the road. He was kind enough to offer to drop all five of us off at a hotel and ended up dropping us at the airport to rent a car. I was so pleased with him and his service.

Had a dead battery in my car. Knew it was probably way past time to change it so I called AAA to send someone out with a new battery. Jeffrey from A-1 Towing surpassed my expectations. He called quickly after my request was recorded through the AAA app, and was at my house in about 10 minutes, incredible! He was very kind and courteous, answering any questions I had and even though I did buy a battery through them, I did not feel pressured whatsoever. We need more people like Jeffrey working for AAA contracted towing companies. He tested the battery to be sure it was just a dead battery or if it was an alternator issue. Was very knowledgeable about his job. Thanks!!

Roy was our Tow truck driver and he arrived 15 minutes after I called when AAA said it could be up to an hour. He knew where we were broken down on 24E and got to us quickly as it was not a safe place! He was very knowledgeable, Very pleasant, and drove us 114 miles to our mechanic! Upon arrival, he noticed that we might not have a shot transmission & that it might just be a U joint. Luckily, he was correct & a new transmission was not needed!! A TOTAL Pleasant experience!!

The employees at A1 were very kind when my car broke down and I was waiting at their shop for over an hour for a ride home with my two young kids. The tow driver was very accommodating with my need to get two car seats transferred from the car to his truck. They were quick and kind. The car was ultimately donated and they made transferring it over to the charity easy and hassle free as I had to come back multiple times to get the car cleaned out.

This past weekend my father (who is 85 years old) had broke down in his van. I called AAA for my father, and within 10-15 minutes, I received a call from Brandon from A-1 Towing who told me he knew the exact area where my father had broken down and he was already on his way. He arrived promptly as promised. Brandon was extremely professional and courteous and went above and beyond in helping my elderly father. Thank you very much, Brandon!!

We were in Chattanooga for a cheer competition when our truck broke down on a Sunday!!!These guys were great. The dispatcher, Roy had a great sense of humor, polite, and super helpful. He called the mechanic in to work to help get us back on the road! The tow truck driver, Justin showed up got the truck started and answered all our question. Justin was very professional, polite and made us feel at ease. Andy the mechanic explained in full the repairs and never once tried to up sale us, charge us for stuff we didnt need, or do add on sales. All and all if I lived local this i would be a long term customer. Service was great!

I had AAA pick up my car and bring me here. I got a small labor discount with my membership. There is no waiting room and the surrounding area is a bit sketchy. So take all valuables from your car and have someone else take you somewhere. Overall, though, the work they did was good.

I had a precarious situation with a higher end sports car, a curb, and soft, low ground. AAA contacted A-1, who dispatched Steve to the scene, and I appreciate their relationship with A-1. I was on hold with AAA longer than it took for him to arrive. With 30+ years of towing and recovery experience, we discussed the risks, I agreed to the plan, and executed the damage waiver. It was a textbook recovery that did not require use of the truck, only equipment A-1 had on hand. Once the recovery actually began, I was back on the road quickly. I hope I never need their services again, but if I did, I wouldnt hesitate for a moment to ask for Steve. He is professional, polite, and knows his craft. John the driver showed up within 20 minutes of us calling AAA. He loaded my tundra in a safe and efficient manner. I followed him to Walmart where he patiently waited to find out where to park even though I called ahead and they said it wouldnt be a problem. Oh well. He started to unload the truck when the truck wouldnt start due to the alarm/remote start failing. We finally got it unload thanks to him being patient and keeping a positive and helpful attitude. I would definitely recommend them for the information time when you need a tire. I will also request them (him) specifically if possible the next time through AAA.

Unfortunately, Ive had to call AAA a few times over the last couple months for tow jobs. They always use A1 for tow jobs and every single time, the service has been super fast and the drivers are some of the nicest people Ive ever dealt with. I could not recommend more.

Wouldn’t use these thieves again! Had over $200 dollars of belongings stole from the inside of our totaled car. After going through a rough time already and then to come back to see your things stole... that’s unacceptable and wish I had been able to tell the police department not to send it there! My 84 year old Dad was broken down outside of Chattanooga and I was in route there from Louisville which is about 300 miles away. As it was after 4p.m. I needed to find a Shop who also had a Towing Service. My local Napa AutoCare Rep directed me to A-1 and Im glad he did. I called and explained my situation to Alicia. She reassured me that if I in fact need a tow I could call them later as they have 24 Hour Towing Service. I ended up calling later and they towed my Dads vehicle to their shop. Before I called again, Dustin, the Shop Manager, had already began the diagnosis process and could not duplicate the problem which stranded my Dad. At this point we decided to tow the vehicle back to my shop in Crestwood, KY. Dustin once again ensured everything was seamless and arranged the tow. I cannot say enough good things about A-1, but know I will never forget the personal service they provided. They turned what could have been a bad situation into something very manageable and unstressful. When you need Service, Call A-1 like I did.

AAA sent these guys out to toe my car to another shop. The driver told me to bring it to A1 Towing & Repair instead. I reluctantly agreed. They mentioned several times that i would get a quote in only a few hours. What he did not mention is they wanted a $110 fee for providing a quote. I dont mind paying this fee however they clearly tricked me into getting my car to his shop. Dont use these folks because they are dishonest

Had a flat tire while visiting friends on Signal Mountain on Saturday. Called AAA and they dispatched someone, didnt get his name, who when he called to ask about our situation recommended that we get a tow to make sure we got off the mountain safely. He followed up and got his dispatcher to send Justin to help us out. Justin located the the leak and since it was in the back sidewall, suggested that he tow us home, to Atlanta, or take it somewhere so we could get it repaired the next morning. Against his advice, chose to go to the Wal-mart and try to repair it ourselves. Repair didnt work, and we called AAA back and requested Justin. He got us home safely and very quickly. I was very surprised when looking on google the low rating. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

Do not have your car towed here when using AAA. I was encouraged by the tow truck driver to use this shop and they were dishonest about what was going on with my car and tried to charge me triple what it actually cost to fix my car. If you are offered to have your car towed here, decline and have it towed somewhere else.

Left my wife stranded for hours after being told would be there in an hour. Also one of their tow vehicles ran me off the road on interstate 75 at 6am I’m the morning. Not a reliable company to deal with.

The guy driving the pickup on McFarland Ave is a waste of air. He didnt use turn signals, was on his cell phone and busy looking in his seat. Twice he stopped short and almost caused a wreck. When I called in the lady that answered the phone was rude and not concerned with my comments. God forbid I ever need tow service but if I do I can damn well promise I wont use A1 Towing. If A1 Towing was the only option to get my truck out of a ditch I would leave my truck in a ditch forever.

Stole my friends stolen car ...tried to illeagally charge him double what the fees were and keep his car . They kept the car on their lot for over two months without notifying anyone it was there until they mailed out a letter of intent to take possession of the car ...the ladies in the office are the rudest people you will ever deal with ...took a call to the wrecker board and police to finally get the car back ...beware in Chattanooga A1 towing will steal your car

Car was towed, was dragged in all wheel drive, will not go into gear now. Company is so unprofessional, they claim its not their responsibility, will put you on hold and leave you, will hang up when you call back, the tech said it was because they didnt have the key that they had to drag it. Already spoke to my attorney and YES they are responsible , so hang up all you want. Just wait to be served.

HORRIBLE!!! THEY WILL CHEAT YOU!!!They towed our car and supposedly fixed an oil leak due to a busted hose charging a couple hundreded. The same EXACT thing happened to the car 3 weeks later. We asked them to please fix without charge due to it being the same issue. They gave us the runaround and were very rude to use when we asked questions. We were scared they would do something worse to the car if we asked to take it somewhere else. So they charged us MORE money to do the same work!!!! THEY CHEAT THE CUSTOMER IF THEY CAN GET A CHANCE!!!!!

Will never go there again. When I was in college my alternator died and since the AAA tow guy from A1 suggested I go here because Id get a discount I did. As a single girl bringing her car in for repair I got porked on the price. I had done research before and alternators were half the price that I ended up paying here but I couldnt go anywhere else because my car was dead. Also I had to wait there and it took him all day. Will never recommend to anyone.

If I could give less than one star I would. My daughters car broke down at UTC. It was going to be towed to a different repair shop until A1s driver convinced us to take it to their own shop. Twice she picked it up, and twice she had to go right back with the same problem. The manager and tech were horrible with regards to returning phone calls and giving a status. They told me that they werent exactly sure what the issue was, but they were trying. They ended up refunding what we paid because they couldnt figure out the issues. My daughter took her car to the original shop, and what do you know? They fixed it on the first try!STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS!

A-1 Towing came to pick up my sister in laws car. She told them she wanted it delivered to a certain auto repair shop that all of us use. She is handicapped and the driver of the tow truck talked her into letting him take it to another shop which just happened to be part of the towing companies business also. In addition it was much further away than where her car was supposed to go which means they get more mileage also. Then to top it off, where the driver was told to take her car, the charge would have been $283.00. Their shop charged her $501.00!We were outraged that they took advantage of a handicapped person. In addition, they had no right to pressure her into taking it to a place we have never used or heard of before. Therefore, we do not trust this family and will tell AAA that A-1 Towing will NEVER be allowed to tow any of our vehicles again!I think it is pretty low of A-1 to do what they did!!!

The towing service was excellent and is AAA recommended (my rating is 5 for towing and 1 for service = 3 overall). The tow truck driver encouraged me to switch me from AAAs recommended repair service provider to A-1s service, which is also AAA recommended. After I later realized the driver had not been truthful in some comments, I called the next morning and switched to AAAs original recommendation (no charge to do this with AAA). The owner (Bill Schulz) later called me and apologized for his driver doing this and said he would discipline the driver. It is to his credit that he did this!However this incident does serve as a general caution about towing operations that ALSO provide service. Next time I will stick to AAAs initial recommendations for both.
