Do not sell your car here, the employees are paid on commission and will offer substantially lower than others in town (or online). They actually asked what I owed on the car - very skeevy tactic. I happily sold my car elsewhere a week later and for $1100 more than Umansky quoted.

They explain their recommendations simply without rushing or pressuring you. You can tell their top priority is making sure the customer is happy.

Those assisting us - the consumer advocate, salesperson and financial processor were all exceedingly professional and exercised the perfect balance between representing Umansky Honda, providing appropriate information and not exerting pressure on us regarding decisions about whether to buy, what automobile to buy and choice of service package to purchase.Our salesperson was experienced and gave us the benefit of his knowledge of the new options and systems in the car.

I brought the car in with a Christmas tree light dashboard. I was guessing that the issue was rodent damage and I was correct. They fixed with repairing the harness assembly rather than having to replace the whole thing. Saved a lot of money that way.

Would not recommend, get your Honda checked elsewhere. They misdiagnosed the issue with my door, only to have it back again in a month. Now they want extra money to fix the original issue, assuming no responsibility. Theyre excuse was that the car is old and its not a bad thing that we replaced the parts - but by this logic I would spend a million dollars to replace each old part in the car, especially at this place.This is the second time that it happens, I had a very similar encounter a couple years back.

Ill start by saying that Kelsey was great and very helpful with finding a car that was right for me. However, I purchased a car that three months later had issues which should have been solved before the vehicle was even given to me. When I went to pick up the car from the lot there was no gas in the tank. Secondly, not even 2 weeks into having the car the breaks were squealing. I had to get break pads & rotors. Third, three months later which is now the car is in the shop due to rusted control arms & ball joints. I understand that a used car is sold as is, but when you are insured the car was being inspected properly it is very disappointing. Not to mention when I asked to have the car looked at two weeks later I was told I would have to pay $140 for them to even look at the breaks. My experience with Umansky was not great, which is very disappointing because my family has bought all of their vehicles here. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

We used Umansky for service over the last 3 years but may not return. For the 16 months, our Honda Fit had a strong gas smell while driving and idling. We took the car in multiple times for service to look into the source of the gas smell. On two occasions, the dealership performed diagnostics but the problem was not found and the car continued to have a persistent gas smell. After 16 months of driving a fumy car we researched the issue ourselves and found that the smell might be related to the spark plugs and coils. We brought the car in for a third time and recommended that the techs look into the spark plugs. An engine misfire was identified and spark plugs and coils replaced.I am dissatisfied with how the issue was handled and did not appreciate having to deal with an unidentified gas smell for an extended period of time. I feel that driving the car for 16 months with this issue (loose or faulty spark plugs and damaged coils) was potentially dangerous and has also caused additional stress to the engine and engine components.We are relieved that the problem has finally been resolved, but we are dissatisfied with the time and money we have invested in this problem.

He even introduced me to the people in the service department. I went to another honda dealership first, that was wasting my time. I definitely recommend Umansky.The service department is awesome. We have always gotten our Honda autos serviced at first Brown and now Umansky since 2006. We were happy with the service but less so once Brown transferred hands and we noticed a trend in upselling extra services we really didnt need. Not a deal breaker bc we still got to deal with some of the old Brown staff like David Sloan, but after our recent experience we will be looking for a new service center. After having 2 brand new tires put on my van and an alignment done with some other necessary work in preparation for a highway trip alone a few days later, I had one of the brand new tires separate from my rim on the inside edge (damaged bead during mounting apparently) and was stranded on the highway for 2 hours. Jackie the service manager was great and cared about my ordeal, even allowing me to borrow a nice new Honda since the tire I needed was 2 days out from being delivered for the 2nd replacement. But the other 2 reps involved at Umansky just acted like oh well, these things happen and made zero effort to even apologize when I walked in the lobby after my 2 hours sitting on the highway and then limping home on a temp tire. That attitude and no attempt other than Jackies to acknowledge the egregious mistake made when mounting the tires has made my husband and I feel like its time to go elsewhere. Paying more for dealer service is only good when the work is good. The extra star is for Jackies effort and the one star is only bc zero is not an option.

I went in for a state inspection, a process that usually takes 15 to 30 minutes. They made me wait an hour and a half so they could find 1200 dollars worth of maintenance. My car passed the inspection, I didnt need the maintenance. Will never waste my time with them again.

I have never had a bad experience with Umansky Honda. Everyone is always polite and responsive. They provide quality work and a great customer experience. Whether it is a repair or routine service work, they are always transparent and able to answer your questions with ease. Also, the shuttle bus is an extra plus when you need to drop you vehicle off and need to make it somewhere else before your car is ready.

Shady sales. Sketchy service. I’ve had to take the car they sold me in for service about 4 times. And even for the issue that was under warranty they gave me a run around before repairing it. Their lip service is great but their service and cars are second rate. I would not recommend them to anyone.

Our family had our Honda Odyssey serviced recently, and we appreciated the correction of several safety recalls, replacement of air filters, brake fluid flush, and brake pad recommendations. The service center managed to catch some potential issues and fix things for us all in the same visit. Our quoted service bill did increase from $240 to $1040 but we did get a lot more work done on our vehicle and the vehicle returned at the anticipated time.

I understand it was a Saturday and that it was busy, but I got passed around to 4 different sales team members and they wouldnt negotiate down on the price (even though listed at $1k cheaper on their site). Their service people are very cordial and explain clearly what they did and what is recommended for future. May be they are expensive compared to other local auto centers but they are reliable.

When I ordered the part which was knocked/loosened and fell off I asked if I could snap it back on. I was told I could. I pay for it and go to put it on my CR-V only to find out it will not go on 😡.From the factory, Honda puts a cheap part which snaps on and can fall off. Now in order to replace it I have to spend more than the replacement part cost me $39.54 ... another $135 or so in labor for them to take the inside door panel off to screw this little piece back on so it wont fall off. It shouldve been screwed on to begin with so it wouldnt fall off ..what a racket. Ugh!!

I took my Toyota Tacoma in yesterday to get an inspection and was greeted by the most friendly and fun service team. Dave Sloan, the service advisor who checked me in was extremely courteous and helpful and Andrew Andrysczyk was the service tech who inspected my vehicle and he went above and beyond looking over my truck and explaining to me everything going on with it and my best plan of action getting some things fixed. He even let me come back and take a look at it with him when it was up on the lift. These guys were epic to work with and super knowledgeable and I’d absolutely go back. Can’t thank them enough.

We purchased brand new 2020 Honda Pilot from Umansky Honda a few months ago. After a heavy rain last night, there was very bad water leakage coming from underneath the dashboard on both the drives seat and the front-row passenger seat. We already cleaned out the swimming pool of water sitting on the floor of the drivers seat, but you can still see the water dripping down from the cables in the picture. In addition, the car alarm keeps going on and off once in a while, which is killing us especially when its at 3am in the night. We suspect there might be electric damage.We called Umansky service department today, and their answer was basically were too busy to see you until next week, and the water damage guy can only come in next month. Great. They basically told us to wait and rot. And they refused to tell me about any warranty information, when its clearly Hondas fault and Im clearly under warranty --- its a new 2020 Honda Pilot that was directly purchased from them!!!!Lessons:1. DO NOT buy a 2020 Honda Pilot. Serious water leakage issue that could damage the vehicle.2. DO NOT buy from Umansky Honda. Apparently they dont care after making the sale.======Update: they fixed the car and the warranty covered it. Hence updating from 1 to 3 stars. It took 10 days from dropoff to pickup. They told me its due to the clogged drain tube from the sunroof, and they cleaned up the tube. Not sure if itll happen again. I guess well see.

David Polk, the sales-manger worked with me on my trade-in to put a deal together. I had such a horrible experience that I am writing my review on it. I took my car in to have it looked at. I told them all my lights and the dashboard we’re on and my car was shutting off and on and stuttering. After dropping it off, I receive a call. Instead of just seeing what was wrong with the car. They decided to look through the entire car and charge me $2,900 for multiple repairs the car was not in need of. I was told the electrical system was causing the lights to be on, as well as my shutting off. After they completed the work, I went to pick up and noticed that it was still stuttering. I took it back to them to look at, after which the told me it was the transmission. They wanted to charge me $2,500 for a USED transmission. So I took to another dealership for a second opinion. After having the car for 5 minutes, they determined it was the air intake hose, not the transmission. I had the piece replaced and now my car is working again. Absolutely terrible. Never again will I go there or recommend anyone to go. I will be filing a complaint with the BBB.

After reading several reviews, it seems like our experience was like many others. Our sales person Braedon was great. He was very helpful and communicated well. Our financing experience was another story. We were flat out lied to about amounts and coverages. We were trying to get a purchase completed before Christmas so we skimmed over the paperwork as the Business Manager explained everything. I woke up that night with an uneasy feeling. After reviewing the paperwork at 3am I noticed that what we were told and what was the truth was about $60 a month difference. Thankfully Braedon was able to help us adjust what needed to be adjusted and cancel what needed to be cancelled, but at this point no one from management has elected to follow up with us. If one of my employees was accused of lying to a customer I would have made a call immediately to investigate. When you think of used car dealers they have the reputation of being this slimy and shady type of business. Braedon was not, but the rest of the operation seems to be.

I will never, never NEVER buy another vehicle nor will I ever recommend Umansky Honda to any of my friends. We love the car and our salesman Bob Smith went out of his way to be accommodating, however, the financial representative was a completely different story. He was very misleading and underhanded. He sent us home with incorrect paperwork, wrong amounts, wrong contracts and incomplete. When we took them back , he did apologize for having the incorrect amounts. He was dishonest about the financing interest rates. They are NOTdetermined by the bank, they are set by Honda. The whole experience with him was a complete fiasco. We took him at his word which is apparently worthless. When you are spending so much money its so sad that the integrity is not there. What should have been a wonderful, happy time left us feeling violated.

We bought our 2010 Honda Fit 5 years ago and still love it. Most of Maintenance we get done here too. Kenny is the best! Hes always friendly and honest with recommendations. I never feel pressured into doing Maintenance thats not needed yet. That gives me peace of mind. All the staff is friendly and helpful. The shuttle drivers are in time and safe drivers. Oil changes are actually less expensive at the dealership than most other options.

When traveling through Charlottesville, my cars battery went dead. I was able to get a jump and get my car over to the Umansky Honda Dealership in hopes of getting it fixed so I could get back on the road. I arrived only 15 minutes before close knowing that everyone may be busy or were finishing up for the night. Thankfully, I was helped by Kenny Taylor, who made my problem his prior. I felt as if Kenny was doing everything he possibly could to help me get back on the road that night. He kept me involved with the process and could not have been nicer or more reassuring. Kenny provided five star service! I also wanted to thank RJ, who did not hesitate to help as well. He was able to check out my battery and solve the issue quickly. Overall great experience with all of the staff and service at Umansky Honda!

I bought a used Honda Fit from Umansky in December 2018. Most recently, I took my car to the shop (NOT Umansky) to get an oil change and a quick inspection as I am about to go on a long car trip. Turns out, even though Umansky promised they had done a big inspection prior to me purchasing the car, the 30,000 mile inspection appears to have never been done (it is at about 54,000 miles now and I bought it at 47,000) and so a LOT of basic, routine maintenance items have needed to be completed for a long time. I trusted that I did not need to get the car inspected after buying from the dealership, but I guess I was wrong!While Im writing this review, I will mention that buying from Umansky was a horrible experience from the start. I am a younger woman, it was my first time buying a car from a dealership, and I was there alone. Umansky tried to take advantage of me at every step of the process, but the most egregious was that they offered me a loan with 23% interest (I have pretty good credit). They just showed me the numbers without saying the percentage as if I wouldnt notice, but I can do basic math so I knew that it was a ridiculous number without even pulling out a calculator. After I said I would not be getting a loan through them since 23% interest is ridiculous, they offered me a much more reasonable interest rate.Not only will I not be going to Umansky ever again, I dont think Ill buy from a dealership ever again. I will say my salesman Nick was very kind and tried to be helpful––it was his superiors that were causing the issues.I also love my Honda Fit and would recommend the car. The 2015 is a little funky in terms of user experience but I have heard other year models fixed some of the issues. Just dont buy it from Umansky.

While I was there a lady came in with 2 dogs and they let her sit in the waiting room with the dogs, I thought that was beyond awesome of them. I took my recently-acquired 2008 Honda Civic Si in to get airbag recall taken care of as well as a steering rack TSB. The rack and/or suspension makes noise (clunk and groan) at slow speeds. The TSB is pretty well-documented on the Internet and my symptoms were identical, so I was pretty confident this was my issue.Anyway, I mentioned these things to the service writer and she says they can do that and after looking at the hours for the job on the TSB that I printed out, said it would be $98.50. Of course I hoped they would take care of it (free), but I reluctantly agreed to pay to have that done.After some time of waiting in the lobby watching dozens of important looking people scurry to and fro, the service manager called me on my cellphone and offered to do a complimentary multi-point inspection. I saw no harm in that and agreed, since it was a used car after all.After some more time I get another call and the service guy says he cant reproduce the sound I am reporting. I know, its starting to sound like the complain sessions you read about so frequently on the car enthusiast forums online. I replied by saying its reproduced exactly as it says in the TSB. He says he had the TSB I printed out and left there. I also TOLD him exactly how to get the noise. Great, I thought.So 2.5 hours later I get the laundry list and the song and dance about how long it took them to do whatever it was they were doing. They also tell me the noises were coming from the strut assembly. In my mind I am running through the iterations and impact thats gonna make to my bottom line, which they told me was $98.50. Whew, thats what I actually authorized, at least it wasnt more.Well, thats a bummer! I paid you guys to do the TSB and it wasnt even that! Ill just have to eat that one, I guess. They then informed me that they didnt actually DO the TSB and that the noise was the strut. Then you fixed it then? No we just diagnosed it. Youre charging me for the diagnosis? I didnt authorize you to CHARGE me for a diagnosis. I authorized specific work as outlined in the TSB that I printed and left for you. Besides, you told me that the multi-point inspection was free - to earn my business! Wouldnt you have found a faulty strut in the multi-point inspection? I mean, the strut assembly is a pretty critical component?Youve seen my rating, so you probably know where this is going. Of course they werent hearing me and those within earshot seemed well-rehearsed by their behavior. The uniformed service manager denied me. Then some lady in street clothes (manager) denied me and justified it to herself by stating she needed to pay her guys and that they spent a lot of time on it. How long SHOULD it take experts on these cars to diagnose something I already detailed and even printed for them? Not my problem, lady.Well they made it my problem and I paid the $98.50. I paid $98.50 for the right to write a review, I guess. Anyway, I wouldnt go to Umansky for a flat washer. Order your parts online and go to an independent shop, do it yourself (which I typically do). Try a different dealer, but Umansky Charlottesville isnt it. Theyll wrangle you and corner you and tell you youre crazy and send in another vainglorious suit to tell you youre crazy.
