I had some old Allen Edmonds shoes that were in disrepair. The soles had large holes and water had leaked into the leather. Allen Edmonds turnaround time was 2-3 months, and the price was about the cost of the shoes themselves.Instead, I took them here. I dropped off a raggedy pair of shoes on Monday afternoon, and received them back on Thursday. The soles look great and the leather was conditioned and restored. I couldnt be happier with Peter and Sons and will continue to use them in the future. Supporting local businesses is always a good move, but this is especially true when the work is top notch.I have attached some before and after photos.

Came to get my shoes shined for my wedding. Just a shoe shine, and he told me cash or personal check only, $25 up front. I only had a $20 on me and he said “well…come back when you have $25”. Shoe shines cost like $5. Went to another place and they said “no charge” because of the special occasion and wished me good luck…thats how you’re supposed to treat customers.

While hiking a limb tore a hole in my Gregory backpack. The Gregory warranty website listed Peter & Sons in Charleston SC as the certified warranty repair shop nearest my hometown of Greenville SC. I emailed them a photo of the tear and asked their advice as to the best way to arrange for the repair - to bring it in or ship it; they replied on that same day and described how they would repair it, and suggested shipping as most effective; and estimated I would have it back in a week. I shipped the pack on a Monday afternoon and had it in my hands again on Thursday afternoon! An amazingly quick turnaround and an excellent repair! I was both impressed by the promptness, courteousness, and helpfulness of their responses to my emails and by the quickness of and quality of their repair. Five stars without a doubt!

I took my boots here for a re-sole and they did a great job replacing with a quality Vibram sole. They even offered to clean my boots and did so at no extra charge. I was sent a free shipping label to have the wheels shipped to them and when the repair was done the items was shipped back to me. Recently the handle on my Brics large suitcase broke. There was so place in my hometown too have it repaired, I looked up authorized Brics dealerships and found Peter & Sons in Charleston, SC. We exchanged emails and I was able to send them my luggage. In just a week or so it was fixed and shipped back to me. I have a Samsonite Adante rolling duffle bag which I LOVE!! It’s been all over the US, Mexico and Western Europe. After MUCH wear & tear, one of the skids broke. I called Daniel at Peter & Sons. He sent me a UPS label, I shipped it out, Daniel repaired and returned it to me in time for my next adventure. All this took less than a week!! Five stars!! Good communication and excellent service. Swiss Airlines ripped the front wheel off of my suitcase, and instead of just sending me a new bag, they told me to I had to go repair it. I didn’t even know Charleston had a luggage repair shop, and we’re so lucky to have this one! I called explaining my situation, and Daniel suggested I text him photos of my suitcase first, saving me a trip from MtP to West Ashley. He immediately saw the damage was beyond repair, so he wrote me a letter including all the information I needed to send the airline to get a reimbursement. Amazing service at this place!

We own a Samsonite Garment Bag that developed a broken handle, zipper issues and an inner pocket tear over the past 6 months with a lot of use.We emailed Samsonite about repair. They referred us to Peter and Sons as the closest repair location to us. We shipped the garment bag to them. We heard back from Peter and Sons within 24 hours after they had received it. They repaired it the next day and immediately shipped it back. The repairs were perfect and the bag looks better than it did when we sent it to them. What great efficient and fast service!! They were the nicest people to work with in the middle of the corona pandemic I sent them my suitcase to replace a wheel that the airline handlers had knocked off. They fixed in no time at all and did not want a dime! My suitcase is like brand new! I highly recommend them and will send shoes there next time I need repairs.

We dropped a suitcase off for repair at the Samsonite Factory store in Commerce, GA, later in the day on a Monday afternoon and received a call from Peter & Sons explaining the repair and making sure they had the info correct. They shipped it back to us and it arrived on Thurs of the same week! They repair was great and their personal touch reaching out to us before shipping it back to us was super!

I sent luggage that was under warranty to have the wheels replaced. The wheels on my luggage were no longer available. They called me promptly to make sure that the replacement wheels would be satisfactory. They were fine just a little different. I had a second suitcase with the same problems. It was fixed and back to me within a week. I dealt with Daniel through this whole process. He was courteous and prompt with answering email. He even responded on Saturday! Peter & Sons has exemplary customer service which is so hard to find in todays world. I highly recommend them.

I recently sent a Samsonite roller bag for wheel repair to Peter and Sons Luggage. The experience and workmanship were excellent. They kept me posted on receipt of the bag and return shipment. The process was much faster than I expected and at least a week faster than the local store indicated when they shipped it. I’ve been bringing my shoes to Peter and Sons for years. They’re always friendly. I’ve had heel tips replaced quickly while I wait, zippers repaired and even full sole replacements. They make old-favorite shoes look like new-favorite shoes again.

I sent my Gregory Triconi 60 backpacking backpack that is about 10 years old. The pack had some wear and tear like the hip belt skeleton support was broken and some zippers needed to be put back on. The pack arrived to them on a Tuesday and they got the pack back to me on Wednesday the next day. I was really surprised at how quickly they fixed the pack and shipped it back to me. I was super excited to see that they fixed everything with great quality. I would highly recommend sending your Gregory backpacking back pack to them!

Brought a saddle here for a minor leather repair about 2 years ago. They totally destroyed the thing. I was absolutely mortified how I could get it back in worse shape than I how I dropped it off. I asked them to fix their mistake and they did a shoddy fix job on their mess up. Finally I just accepted it back with the realization that it was botched and they would not be fixing it how it should be. PSA to Charleston equestrians, do not bring your saddles here. They might be good at shoes, but definitely not simple saddle leather work

I took a piece of my husbands Hartmann luggage to be repaired as the handle was constantly getting stuck. Daniel was upfront and honest and advised the fix may not be permanent. I appreciated his honesty and thats why I make the 1.5 hour drive to Peter and Sons from the Beaufort area. I have brought luggage in for repair in the past. They do an excellent job and ships the luggage back to me free of charge. I wouldnt hesitate to take any piece of luggage to them. Theyre great and Daniel is awesome.

It comes to you from Paris France where I am now on a temporary assignment,My suitcase lost a wheel on a trip to Charleston in March. Since I was your city only briefly for a meeting before leaving for an internationals trip the following week, I needed to have my bag repaired immediately.I was staying at the Belmont Charleston, Belmont Place Hotel, and inquired about getting my bag repaired at a luggage store there. Their advice take it to Peter and Sons Shop and Luggage Repair!I called and spoke to a young woman who said come on over, well see what we can do for you. ( I subsequently learned that she is the daughter of the owner)I arrived, broke bag in-hand, was greeted by Peter and my bag was quickly properly repaired. And so this story has a happy ending.But theres more. There was no charge for the excellent service. While it may have been an easy repair job for them, it was invaluable to me.And theres even more. While I waited, Peter insisted that I a cup of coffee and the best warm doughnut Ive tasted in a long time.Just one more word to bring this story to a conclusion. While I was there, two other customers arrived with shoes in hand to be repaired. All left as satisfied customers as did I. So, my experience was not an exception.Hence my note. Peter and Sons replaced the collapsible handle on my 15 year old pilots chart bag. There were no replacement parts from Samsonite and they (Samsonite) were absolutely no help. The repair engineered by Peter and Sons is better than when my bag was new. The cost was very reasonable.

I will tell you this, this store is top notch. Excellent work. I went back this morning with a pair of 600 dollar ferragamo shoes that needed soles. He looked at them and said 95 dollars. I repeated 95 dollars? and he handed them back to me in a huff. He made no effort to persuade me to spend the extra money, I figured 75 or 85 max. So I walked out and went to Palmetto shoe repair for 65 dollars. Honestly, Palmetto may not do as good of a job. My assessment is that they do excellent work, but be prepared to pay for it.

My HIGHEST recommendations go to this repair shop!!! They are extremely courteous, very concerned with giving you WHAT you ask for, and do a great job fixing whats broken. I came in with a broken handle on my favorite suitcase. I asked if they could somehow keep some the fabric that matched the rest of the bag on the handle so looked nice after, and he said he would try. The work was finished in an amazingly quick time. I was told maybe a week. In 2 days I got a call it was ready! The handle was repaired and they managed to keep all the original fabric in one piece! It looks great! Excellent job!Best of all, was the sons super friendly demeanor while talking to me. Very professional!

I believe that within 30 minutes of it arriving in their shop they were on the phone making sure they understood my needs.Today I received an email from FedEx notifying me that the roller board had been delivered back to my home. I called in advance and told them the make and problem with my bag. He said I needed to bring it in to see. I walk in the door and mention I just called. He asked where I bought the bag? When I told him not directly from the manufacturer he proceeded to tell me there were no parts available without even looking at the bag. He had no interest in looking at the bag and was very dismissive. I would not be leaving a review if he had told me that he wasnt interested on the phone and saved me the trip.

Just visited the shop to have a pair of shoes repaired. One man was working on a suitcase and the other was repairing a pair of shoes. Neither greeted me. After about 3 minutes, I said good morning. The man working on the suitcase mumbled good morning, still i wasnt served. There were workers in the back who saw me at the counter and they also did not come up front to service me. Finally after waiting for 5 minutes I left, no one attempted to stop me as I was leaving. Wont visit them again.

Do not take your shoes here!!! I brought a pair of boots to be repaired. The man said he would put new soles on them and charged me $40. I picked them up a week later. In one day, the sole was shoddy and broken. I brought them back and sadly the man was not there. I spoke to a horribly awful man who said, “Those aren’t our soles. “. So. They charged me $40 for glue that didn’t work!! I asked for my money back. Oh, no. The man was belligerent. Refused.So. Not only did they lie and not replace the soles. His customer service tactics were awful.What a shame.You don’t belong in Charleston. You don’t embody the grace of the people here. Go away. Shame on you.

I called and asked for a ballpark estimate on an average heel repair. Was told they had to see the shoe first. I rephrased and asked what do typical repairs usually range from on basic repair for a boot heel, and I got the same answer. Bro, I just want to know if its going to be worth my while or should I buy new boots. $10? $20? $50? Simple question. I didnt even get to ask my follow up question regarding totally redoing the heels for both boots to strengthen them. Guess Ill call your competitors and find out...

We had a piece of Hartmann luggage that needed repair and sent it to them, irrespective of the fact that they had just been hit by Hurricane Dorian. They did a great job on the repair and returned it in less than a week, with no charge. When I called them to tell them that they didnt bill me, they advised that Hartmann had a special for the month of September, repairing all luggage for free! They could have just as easily billed me and I wouldnt have known the difference. Thanks for being a stand-up business, doing the right thing!

Although I live 3 hours away, I am in Charleston several times a year on business. I always take our luggage (roller bags) to Peter and Sons. If only all businesses were like this one. Very friendly service, knowledgeable, more than fair pricing, great results, and efficient. I am always amazed at how quickly they turn repairs around. Wow! This is exactly why we moved to Charleston - the most kind people can be found here. Daniel put a new frame in our suitcase, overnight!! He also added an upgraded expansion system because we needed it. He was professional and friendly. I highly recommend bringing luggage here for repair before you go out to buy it new. I have been here twice now in the past several years. Both times they stopped what they were doing to help me immediately and didnt charge me! First time - a stuck zipper in luggage and the second time - add a whole on the buckle of a pair of sandals. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes and no charge! We owned 2 small carry on Samsonite luggage pieces that needed repairs. We did not think it would be easy to repair. We brought them in to the Samsonite store in Tysons corner, Virginia and they made a ticket for it and all I paid was shipping.Miraculously it was repaired by Peter and Sons! It was shipped and delivered to my doorstep in less than 2 weeks.I wish more people would buy quality goods and get them fixed as opposed to throwing them out.Peter and Sons did great quality work and provided excellent customer service. The only word I have for my luggage repair experience is WOW!! I needed the handle replaced on a piece of luggage our daughter needed for traveling this summer. I had left it at another shop where I live (5 hours from Charleston) for over 7 months with excuses such as the handle has been back-ordered and the handle is no longer available. It was recommended that I have it shipped to Peter and Sons. By coincidence, I was traveling to Charleston and it worked out that I could drop it off in person. I went in to the shop with the luggage, and the response I got was no problem, we can fix the handle, we can have it ready tomorrow afternoon. I couldnt believe what I was hearing! I wasnt able to go the next afternoon, but I did go by two days later to pick it up and not only was the handle repaired, but it was like a brand new piece of luggage. In addition, there was no charge because it was a warranty repair. In my mind, this is one of the best service experiences I have ever had. Peter and Sons is the BEST!

Our Samsonite luggage was damaged on the way to Great Falls MT and Delta wouldnt accept the claim so we had to take the luggage to Peter and Sons and they were able to do a courtesy repair because we were still within the warranty period of the luggage. They were spectacular! They finished the repair and had it shipped to our doorstep all within 3 days!!! Very friendly and provided us a thorough explanation of the repair. We cant thank them enough!

Haven’t had a chance to use their services yet, but they have great customer service. The airline ruined a bag and I need a proposal to submit through my travel insurance. They have been very friendly and have responded very timely to emails to provide the detail necessary to submit my claim with the insurance company.

I called Gregory to replace the lid to my Palisade pack (was stolen on my last international adventure). It confused me that Gregory referred me to a shoe and luggage shop in Charleston, BUT Im so glad they did!My hope was to simply replace my pack lid at a cost I could afford. Instead that was more than accomplished, AND I got to have one of those warm and fuzzy experiences that makes me feel great about humanity. I called a couple days ago and was promised a call back. Today I tried again, and Daniel answered the phone. He said he had tried me a few times, and it is true that my phone has been missing calls lately. We discussed my needs, and he explained to me the percularity of Gregory packs not being standardized in their parts.I told Daniel I didnt care if the color matches or even the buckles as the aesthetics dont matter to me, and I can deal with switching out buckles. However, it is very important to me that the lid have the function of doubling as a fanny pack. Daniel listened attentively, explained patiently, and has that rare aspect of making you feel like youre making a friend in the process of conducting business. He promised to look through his stock and called me back in a few hours. The item went in the mail the same day, TODAY, and Daniel/Peter and Sons did this for me for FREE.I have a pair of Nicaraguan cowboy boots that mean the world to me. I would never have thought to take them out of state for repairs, but the next time they need work I will mail or drive them to Peter and Sons.

On a quick trip home from school overseas, I managed to lose a wheel off of my relatively new suitcase. Rather than purchase an entirely new piece of luggage I decided to see if I could get it repaired in my short stay at home. I was prepared to make all sorts of arrangements with my family to try and borrow a suitcase and have them ship me mine etc... I walked into the store and the guy working took one look, searched for a minute in a box goodies, and pulled out a spare wheel for my suitcase! He informed me that it wasnt the same color and he could, in fact, order me a brand new one or he could pop on the one he had for NO CHARGE. It was a no-brainer...He said hed have it ready by 7:30am the next day! PERFECT service, nice people, great business! The pull-out handle of my roller bag literally fell apart. I took it to Peter & Sons, where Daniel looked at it and told me I could save their charge by simply reinstalling the screws that fell out myself. He took it in the back to align some screw holes to make it easier for me to do, but determined that the original screws in it were the wrong size. So, he went ahead and replaced them with the right size...and then would not take any money for his work! Any business that can sell you something but instead tells you how to do it yourself is of the highest ethical and customer service standards and deserves more business.

Very rude and unprofessional‼️ I wish I could give this place ZERO stars. My fiancé and I walked in with a pair of shoes each needing a repair. No one spoke. My fiancé greeted one of the gentlemen specifically and individually... still he said NOTHING. I went to the counter where I was told ‘we are just gonna use super glue and a nail to fix it’. Sooooo am I to assume that you’re telling me you don’t need my business and I should just fix it myself?? No worries though. Me and MY SHOE (only one foot needed repair) left PETER AND HIS SONS RIGHT WHERE WE MET THEM. I can take my money AND my shoe some place where people are treated with respect and professionalism.-1⭐️

They did a FANTASTIC job on my husband dress shoes!! I was worried bc they are a good brand but the shoes look amazing. Fair price. I will be back!

I visited this location because it was listed as an authorized repair location for Travel Pro luggage. I was impressed from the start as the employee recognized my luggage brand and model when I walked in the door. He did not try to avoid any of the repairs as not covered under the warranty. Among other issues, I had a small strap that held the handles together that was broken. This was not a repair piece sent by Travel Pro so this store made one that is even better than the original, for no extra cost. The estimated time for repair was about a week and was ready in 2 days. I highly recommend this business and plan to use them again in the future when needed.

I was on my way from Savvanah to Charleston when I realized my suitcase lock would not open. I called Peter and Sons and told them my dilemma. They promised to help me! I got there late and Daniel met me to open my suitcase. I am so grateful for his dedication to helping me. Above and beyond!

Customer Service OFF THE CHARTS AMAZING! I called for a replacement part for a broken wheel on a piece of luggage and they requested I send them the broken part. They quickly sent me the correct replacements (for both wheels when the other one breaks) and were absolutely stellar to work with.

I brought in a once-used suitcase whose zipper was broken by the airline, and 20 minutes later the suitcase was just like new! You cant ask for better than that. I will certainly return for any luggage repairs and shoe repairs. There is a reason that Bob Ellis uses Peter and Sons. Now I know why--superior service and workmanship.

Total lifesavers! Professionals all the way around. Had wedding rehearsal in two hours, in from out of town with a broken suitcase zipper, with all my clothes and items stuck inside. Called Peter and sons up and walked in without any delay. Zipper fixed in minutes. No charge. Even offered tourism advice for the city.

I called and talked with a man that told me to come on in that he had the leather and machines to repair a set of suspenders that needed a strap on. When I arrived, He was so rude to me He went through a box of scrap leather trash. As though me being a BLACK MAN that I had no money. When I ask him to just cut a piece off a hide, he acted as if he did not want to destroy his fine leather on a piece of no significant value to him. This was my fathers suspenders. He kept trying to pawn off one of three pieces he had dug out of the trash can. I drove 30min to get to his shop. I was so upset, that he had me running out of his shop within three minutes. And when he was on the phone with another person it was like. ( Yes Sir No Problem ) He was very unprofessional and down right a white man that never got out of the slave days.

I was very pleased with the work and service of Peter and Sons. I shipped a Brics bag, from Atlanta, to them to have the zipper repaired and less than 5 days later it arrived on my porch, repaired and in great condition. I was shocked at how quickly it was done and returned to me. Thank you!

I have a briefcase that was VERY sentimental to me it belonged to my father but I had no key I contacted Peter and son they ask me to send them the case they make no promises four days later I received the case with a key I sincerely thank them for there prompt and courteous service.

Drove through over an hours worth of rush hour traffic to go the mere 6.5 miles down there and 6.5 miles back home from west ashley. Handed them a leather motorcycle racing glove which had a hole in the leather and asked if there was anything they could do and was given a quick no, sorry, not enough room in there. I know this is not something they claim to do but after seeing all the reviews touting amazing customer service youd think they could figure out how to sew in a small piece of leather by hand. I may end up just doing it myself and I certainly dont have the materials, equipment, skill, or experience they have.

Used Peter and Sons for a luggage repair. They were friendly and the repair looked great. I would definitely use them again.

Never, not one time, has he been able to help me. Gives me no suggestions for my problem, never explains why he can’t help, just says no and walks away. He has done it to me for the last time. I will never step foot in his shop again.

I brought in a much-beloved leather tote whose straps were badly frayed. Its now back in probably better than new condition considering that the straps are reinforced. Very reasonably priced and ready when promised. Ill be back for other repairs when I need them.

I took Samsonite work case into Peters and they repaired it -- good as new, work done under Samsonite warranty so no charge. Excellent customer service, work complete on the day they had told me. I confidently recommend!
