I chose Dodrill to remove and replace my existing heat/AC unit because of their positive reviews and because they offer the strongest guarantee I could find locally. I could not have asked for a better experience - everything went smoothly from beginning to end - the team that did the work also installed some new ducts and vents as well as cleaned and sanitized the existing ones that didnt need replacement and sealed off my crawl space. Everything performs great and looks professionally done, and the team worked clean, never leaving any kind of mess on site. I felt comfortable having this team in my home working while I had to be at my own job, which in and of itself is very important to me. Zero regrets , I will rely on Dodrill for periodic maintenance and repairs moving forward. What a breath of fresh air!

The secretary I spoke with on the phone was pleasant and have no hard feelings towards her, but this may be one of the strangest businesses and maybe most difficult transactions I’ve ever attempted. In 2021, we should be able to do things remotely. I have a credit card, have proof I own the home, and have someone there to let the men in to do their estimates and work. I was likely going to get $5-10,000 worth of work completed, but she told me I couldn’t have a family member allow the workers in to do the estimate. I work out of town and have always scheduled maintenance work just fine. Now all of a sudden this can’t be done with this business. It’s 2021! Get with the times. They lost a lot of work because of their weird “policies”.

This was our first time using Dodrill and they did excellent work! They were prompt and professional. We had them encapsulate and waterproof our crawl space which had standing water. It is SO much cleaner and they sealed everything, we could actually store stuff down there now if we wanted to! If you need crawl space repair, I highly recommend them!

Heat went out had to order part. 3 days without heat but got my heat back on as fast as they could. Put it on first thing in the morning. Billy was very diligent and made sure everything was working good. Showed us and explained what was needed. I like that he showed us the parts that we needed and the new parts so we could see and understand better. Billy is a great worker cause it took a while to break all that down and it was a very cold day. Very professional and friendly.

Our Air Conditioner was on the blink last summer and we consulted with Dodrill. The advised is we did not have to replace it just then, but we went on their customer service plan for the future. Sure enough, our old airconditioner finally died this summer. It was at the peak of the hottest days and we were out of town, ready to return to an oven, to be sure. Dodrill, with the help of our outstanding neighbor, came it and had the unit replaced before we returned and it is running perfectly. Thank goodness for quality businesses like Dodrill, committed to serving their customers. I would heartily recommend them.

The day I called they had someone come to my house and provide an estimate. He Was very knowledgeable and explained my options. Once I made my decision to use their company the air conditioner was installed within two days of signing my contract. The installation personnel were professional and very courteous. My air conditioner works great.

Called due to issues with heat not maintaining the tempurature and I have a service contract with Dodrill on the HVAC. They came right over and made some adjustments and increased the fan speed. The house is now warm at 67 degrees and with the boost of the fan it seems even warmer than before.

Technician showed up promptly and diagnosed the problem in mid December. The warranty on my heating system expired at the end of December. They followed up and completed my repair under warranty, replacing the blower motor and giving me a new capaciter - for the $50 warranty use fee. This would have cost over $400 otherwise. Very satisfied.

I think maybe Disney staffs this company! The nicest and most trustworthy people make up Dodrill. The ladies with whom I schedule my maintenance are absolute sunshine! I always smile to hear their cheery voices. The Technicians who come to check my system are mannerly and knowledgeable. They are thorough and take no more time than necessary. I recently purchased a new home that had an older system that didnt work. When I called Dodrill Comfort & Energy Solutions, I was greeted by their very professional and nice staff, who was able to get me scheduled the same day that I called. They sent their technician Cody Moore out to evaluate the system. He spent a good bit of time checking the system thoroughly and explaining everything he was doing and why he was doing it to me. I already knew I needed a new system and he was able to give me a great price and they had a crew out the next day to install it. It was running by that afternoon. From my initial call to Dodrills, I had a new system installed and running within 24 hours!!! I would recommend them to anyone, they have been great from start to finish.

We had our air ducts cleaned for first time since house was built, We know this because the workers found debris in the air ducts from when the house was originally built. I called for a tech on July 4 early afternoon and stated that it would be fine for someone to wait until the next business day to come out. Tech called at 6:07 pm on July 4 and suggested I try resetting the breaker. When that didnt work he said he would call between 9 and 10 am the next day. By 11:30 there had been no call. I contacted the customer support online and was told someone would contact me immediately. By now the temperature was 92 inside and climbing. At 1:00 I contacted online support again and was told someone would call me. Finally I got a call at 1:30. The lady stated there was no record of me having called or tried to contact them. When I told them the name of the tech that had called on July 4, she tried to blame the tech for not giving her the message. When the tech arrived at 3:30, he blamed the dispatcher. He said any other company would have made me wait 3-4 days before coming out. I understand that, but there should have been no promise made about calling between 9 and 10. He looked at the unit (less than 3 years old) and said it had dirty coils. He cleaned the coils and said it was repaired. ($278).He never opened the unit to inspect it. At that time I told him that it still was not working properly. He insisted that it just needed time and that it was repaired. By 8:00 the next morning the house was 77 inside and it was only 74 outside. I called the local office and was told someone would be out that day. At 5:50 pm at different tech came. He opened the unit, did a thorough inspection, checked wires, and found a dirty inside coil. He cleaned the unit, inspected and checked the blower mower, and said it appeared to be working. He explained what to look for if it did not cool after a few hours (computer may be going bad) and how to clean the unit. He was really thorough and made sure everything was working before he left. The house had cooled within 2 hours. He did not charge me for the return visit. If the first tech had done the job as well as the second I would have given 4 stars, one star off for the whole scheduling snafu.

Club member maintenance visit.The tech Shawn D. had a good appearance, did a good job, was thorough and completed the job. Part of the maintenance is to clean the coils inside and out, the inside coils were hard to get to because a gas pipe and flew vent were in the way but the tech Shawn D. persevered and completed the job. Was on time, introduced himself and was very efficient and on time. He called and wanted to know if he could come early, which worked out for me. He did change the furnace filter as I asked and I paid for. He quoted one price and I had already asked the lady that called and set up appointment the price. I wasn’t going to pay his quote for the filter, so I paid the price I was quoted over the phone. He was here for about 40 minutes, said everything was in working order. He did not check a/c unit , I suppose because it was winter. I did turn on a/c the day it was 75 degrees. Did not clean out the trap that is attached to furnance, it does have milky/moldy liquid in there. Did have a question regarding replacing thermostat with Nest thermostat, he said I had the wire downstairs but for some reason did not run the wire upstairs . There went 300.00, cost of Nest. Had been 7 months since spring. I hope the spring checkup isn’t for a few more months! Thank you for your service

Cody was both professional & knowledgeable . After my husband & I discussed our options I contacted Cody the next day to let him know we did indeed wanted to purchase the system.The installers were at my home within two business days. First, this company is the most expensive locally that we priced. Second, we were charged for an incorrect diagnosis of our system. A different HVAC company came and fixed our unit easily whereas Dodrill quoted us $3,000 in repairs. The company also refused a refund of their incorrect diagnostics. This was the second time Dodrill ripped us off so Im leaving this review in the hopes itll save someone else money. Would 100% recommend Elk River Heating & AC instead.

I purchased a new heating and cooling system from Dodrill in July. The unit is working well, but I am wondering how reliable their service department is when they make appointments. After Dodrill ordered a permanent filter ($74) for the unit, I discovered it would not fit. The technician was supposed to arrive at 5:00 today to pick up the incorrect sized filter and obtain the correct measurements. I received a call from their office stating the technician would be 2 hours late and did I want a new appointment. I said no, that would be fine, and I would be home all evening. Well, it is now after 8:00, and they NEVER arrived or had the common curtesy to at least call me and tell me they were not going to come. I sure hope this is not common practice for their business.

We had a great experience with Dodrill. We moved into a new house last summer and the next day (A Sunday, when it was 95 degrees outside) the air conditioner broke. We had a 4-week old baby at the time and I was extremely worried about him in the heat. I called the on-call technician who came as soon as he could and fixed our issue. Great service and price was reasonable given that it was a weekend. We now have their maintenance plan and they have been prompt at scheduling the maintenance checks.

We was told by Dodrill that we needed a certain size unit for our house. They came and measured, we purchased everything they recommended ( UV light, humidifier ), only to find out after installation that the unit they told us we needed wasnt big enough to cool the upstairs to our house. And if that wasnt bad enough, we have had multiple problems out of this unit. The last service tech left us a brochure to buy a UV light and didnt realize that we already have one installed. We even purchase the 6 month filters that they told us, and now they are telling us that we need to start replacing the filters every 3 months at $48 a filter.

Had a service technician diagnose poorly. Wanted to replace unit around $5,200, or pay around $3,000 to repair; another HVAC company serviced our unit with same issue and actually fixed the issue the unit had, unlike Dodrill who gave us a bill for $90+ for no work or an actual diagnostics. Spoke with customer service did not receive call back. Called again for a refund, only wanted to fight about the $90+ refund for no work and no poor diagnostics over the phone. Poor customer service. Do not use Dodrill.

Little disappointed it is costing so much to fix the ac unit. One tech came out and said we had a leak, just wait and if it starts going warm,to call. Second tech came out, found the leak and is replacing parts in our outside unit. Costing a lot and our unit is 9 years old. I have been a dedicated customer of Dodrill for many years on 4 homes and have purchased at least 3 furnace/ACs from them but now, after several disappointing encounters, I will not likely be calling them again. Most recently, after misdiagnosing a problem with an AC that they had installed, they then attempted to charge me $700 for what another company only charged $200. On another occasion a problem was misdiagnosed for an attempted charge of $300. I paid an electrician $160 to correct the problem claimed by Dodrill but he identified the problem instead to be a loose connection in, again, a unit installed by Dodrill. On another occasion their truck brought down an overhead line which they failed to fix for over a month. There have been other similar occasions. I now believe their technicians are trained to sell first and fix second. It is disappointing to see a once trusted service decline in such a manner.

Updated the star rating from 1 to 3 due to them refunding my money.Dropped star rating down to 2 because I discovered my filter was put in upside down.I have a terrible first experience with this company. The technician tried to tell me that the main voltage coming into my house was too high. He told me to call AEP. He charged me $95 for the service fee and then left. I checked the power myself and it was fine. I called the company to make him turn around and come back. He show back up and acted pretty frustrated with me. He finally figured out that I had no refrigerant left in my system probably due to a leak. THIS SHOULD OF BEEN ONE OF THE FIRST THINGS THAT IS CHECKED. He was so annoyed that I just wanted him to leave at this point. He told me it would be $450 just for the electronic leak test. I told him no and then he preceded to get a tank out of his truck and started putting refrigerant in my system without asking. I told him no again and told him i will call somewhere else. I called legg llc. and they found the leak in under 10 minutes and had me fixed in an hour and it was very cheap. I even gave them a big tip. I called Dodrill to file a complaint to get my service fee back. Still waiting for the representative to call me. I will update my review when i get a call back from them. If I would’t of check my voltage in my house myself then I would of ended up paying AEP to look for a problem that was no there and would still have no AC.Update: I forgot to mention that I changed my filter a couple months later. I discovered that the technician put my filter back in UPSIDE DOWN. It took no time for my filter to clog up and my power bill went up due to my heater working overtime from the filter.

Absolutely horrible! I own a townhouse that is being rented out by a colleague of mine. The technician was originally scheduled for Tuesday July 2nd and supposed to come between 1-3pm. The technician didnt call until 430 and I understand jobs may take longer than expected. However, Todd called at 430 saying he was on the way, and NEVER SHOWED UP. So my tenant relayed this to me as her husband had taken off from work that and waited around until 6pm and no one ever showed. She then tried to repeatedly call Todd and he answered once and hung up then started to block calls. She told me this so I then decided to call repeatedly and the calls were going through at first, then soon being blocked. Same thing with my fiancee. So finally we get through to the on call person, Cody and he tells me that they tried to get ahold of me and the tenant and didnt get ahold of anyone. This is false on MANY levels. First, I had confirmed with the receptionist numerous times both my number and the tenants number. Second, HOW would we know the name of the technician that was on the way if he hadnt called my tenant? So as I was on the phone with Cody telling him the situation, he was saying how he still had more calls to make and Im not going to make a rejuvenation call with 4 more maintenance calls ... basically demeaning my need for my A/C to have the rejuvenation. I then confirmed that he was on call and since Todd had failed us, that Cody would then have to cover his missed call. Nothing was resolved.Fast forward to Wednesday July 3rd at 830 AM, I am currently a student in an anesthesia program requiring us to be in the operating room putting people under anesthesia from 6 am-3pm. So naturally Im in the middle of my first case of the day, and I have numerous cases throughout the day barely getting a lunch so I couldnt answer nor call back until 4pm. So I call the office returning the phone call and explaining the situation and I cant remember the receptionists name (2 of them), but I was told that they understand that Im upset that my call was dropped the day before, but thats why they called me at 830 am to get me on the schedule for July 3rd At this point Im FURIOUS because now, the blame was put on ME for not getting the on the schedule for July 3d (not my original scheduled day) because I didnt return their phone call within a certain time period allowing me to be scheduled that day. It would have been impossible anyways, because the tenant is also a student from Baltimore and had left at 4pm to go to Baltimore to visit with family for the holiday weekend since we only get 5 weeks off from class a year.The root of the problem was the dropped ball on July 2nd. NOT me returning a phone call 8 hours later on a day we werent scheduled. The receptionist was VERY demeaning in saying because I didnt answer the phone call, thats why we didnt get scheduled. I quickly reminded her the root of the problem was getting a phone call saying the tech was on the way and he never ended up showing. She was trying to say that the system went down, which it did, however, the times she was giving was AFTER he made the phone call to my tenant. The system went down at 442 and came back up at 458 but the tech called the tenant at 430. She was saying the tech couldnt get the address with the system down, HOWEVER, having a smart phone allows you to look at recent calls, so the tech could have called my tenant back to confirm the address. The receptionist was trying to tell me that the tech never called my tenant and they couldnt get ahold of us, but ONCE AGAIN.... how would we know the technicians name had he not called my tenant?I was told that word would be passed to management and I would be addressed by higher chain of command, and its now July 11th and still no word back. My tenant finally had a fulfilled appointment time on July 9th but im still INFURIATED with the customer service that was happening through many people. Todd calling my tenant 1.5 hr late and no show, Cody demeaning my appt, and the receptionist for many things.
