Horrible place to live. It seemed fine at first until one day I came home and the maintenance dude was trying to break into my room. He said my fire alarm was going off and my roommate called to have him turn it off. He didn’t bring the key to my room so he was using one of MY knifes to try to pry the door open. When I let him in my room he took the whole fire alarm out of my room and the one out of the hallway and just left. When I asked them to replaced the fire alarms no one came. The our dish washer broke and they again took the whole dish washer and didn’t replace it. We pay for a dish washer we should get one. The last straw tho was when our AC unit literally fell out of the wall. We called maintenance they shoved the AC back in the wall and leaving giant gaps in our wall. The apartment quickly became infested with bugs and weather was damaging our personal property. When I contacted management they told me “fixing our apartment wasn’t their priority at the time”. After a couple weeks I threatened to report them for health violations and they finally switched us to a new apartment. Would not recommend unless you want to have to jump through a million hoops to get acceptable living conditions.

Out of all the apartments available near campus to choose from I have been more than happy with my choice! My apartment has plenty of space in the living room for group sessions and privacy with both bedrooms. My roommate has been great and my neighbors are very nice. No noise complaints here and no worries about finding close parking. Our hot water did go out one day but after calling maintenance it was fixed the next day. Laundry facilities in the Clinton house work great and I can say I feel safe living here.

The apartment was disgusting when we moved in. It had clearly not been cleaned or checked on there was rotten milk under the refrigerator. Holes in our walls, doors kicked in and cigarette butts everywhere. When we contacted maintenance about our issues with our door and bathroom he flooded our bathroom and put more holes in our walls. Management has not been helpful with harassment towards us by neighbors. Does not follow lease policy when it comes to noise complaints. If you are looking for somewhere to live look somewhere not owned by Haverkamp.

I have loved living here this past year. The office staff is so friendly and helpful. Living in a place where I don’t have to constantly think about paying for utilities is so nice, and on top of that having amenities like a tanning bed is awesome! It’s super close to campus, and only a short drive away from grocery stores and downtown Cedar Rapids!

I lived here for two years. The people in the office are nice and do their best to make everyone happy. The first year was a little rough with the apartment that I was in but they fixed it the next year by allowing me to switch apartments for the same price as I was paying before. It is a very reasonable price to pay.

So far I am loving Kirkwood courts! The staff is very friendly, and maintenance is very fast & efficient. There were quite a few things wrong with my apartment when I first moved in right after the derecho, however they were very fast and fixed things as soon as they could! Very close and convenient to kirkwood! I would recommend living here if you are looking for a nice affordable place to live.

Pretty nice place. My apartment was extremely dirty (like literal chicken bones and broken glass on the floor) when I moved in but they cleaned it as promptly as they could after the derecho. Quiet, nice vibe, and some pretty awesome maintenance people.

The people who manage these apartments are not honest and they treat you based on who you are and where you come from. My contract was for a year but in the end, when I asked to leave they took me out a contract that stated that I had to stay in their apartment for 7 more months. I went to speak with their manager who made me understand that if I had to leave, I will pay the remaining 7 months anyway. The last straw was that I found myself with a roommate who smoked in the apartment and despite my complaints, nothing was done because this gentleman had friends who work at the rental office. I continue to pay the rent despite the fact that they took the key to the apartment. And the amount is fixed according to their mood. I will finish paying them in July 2021 but I would be remiss if I did not warn any housing seeker not to take the Kirkwood college apartments.

Kirkwood Court/ Campus View apartments is a pretty good place to live. I like how its conveniently located within half a mile from Kirkwood Community college. The apartment staff is friendly and minor maintenance issues are usually quickly solved. However, in most cases you have to go to the main office/club house area to do laundry which is a major annoyance for me.

Good location for an apartment! The location is off Kirkwood campus enough that it doesnt feel like Im still at school but close enough to be anywhere within 5 minutes. I appreciate that it was within walking distance of a couple good restaurants, less than 10 minutes to target and other eateries, and they have very friendly staff. I never missed a rent payment and never had an issue with the staff or the apartment itself. Great place to live!

I’ve lived here for almost a year and have had few issues. All of the staff in the leasing office are very kind and were very welcoming when I first moved in. Neighbors can be an issue but it’s not the leasing offices fault, and you can always file a complaint. The only big issue I had was putting down a deposit for a standard KC apartment but having to move into a premium (which includes a dishwasher) and the dishwasher didn’t work and it took a few months for someone to come look at it. Only issue I had was that and then having to pay $420 instead of the $390 or whatever the standard amount is that I had planned. Overall really nice people and no disappointment when it comes to living here.

Moved into an apartment that was already infested with fleas and roaches. TerminX had to come 3 times to finally clear the place of bugs. Office people seem to not care about your issues, but do get the job done fairly quickly. Think about applying somewhere else this place isn’t worth it.

I believe this is a great place to live! There are some problems like yes they take a bit to plow the parking lots and don’t put salt down right away and the cameras don’t work, but otherwise I haven’t had any problems. Staff is friendly, maintenance is always on time, they get the job done right away and if they’re busy they try to get to you as soon as they can. Security is pretty good I mean I’ve had to call them only twice but they handled the situation in a decent time manner.I’ve lived here for two years and haven’t had really any problems only little things.

The Building always smelled, had no notification when my roommate moved in. Had rusty water for weeks, water would also randomly go cold and then be hot again HOURS later. Heat was either on or off during the winter, the thermostat didn’t work. The wall mounted window AC unit was to small to cool the apartment much under 75°F during the summer. No building security at all anyone can just walk into the building, and a security car just sits in the lower parking lot all night with its roof lights on while the person inside takes a nap. 390$ a month was way to cheap to be good. Shop around. And go somewhere else.

Al
Review №22

The worst place I have ever lived. Staff was friendly when I was signing my lease but after that they were extremely disrespectful. They don’t plow the parking lot until 11 pm. Oh you have to go to work and can’t get out? They don’t care. When they do plow they pile it up so you can’t pull out of the parking lot safely. They don’t plow the parking spots so you have to park in snow banks and ice and because it’s a slight incline your car slides down into the drive way. They also don’t salt the sidewalk even after you ask them nicely they give rude snoody comments back. Their “security” is horrible. If you call they either tell you “we don’t deal with that you need to call the police department” or “were closed for the night” 10 minutes before they are supposed to be “closed”. If you want to live in a place with paper thin walls, cruddy staff and maintenance team then be my guest and live her but I WILL never recommend this place to anyone. Even if they went down in price I wouldn’t live here again

The office staff are nice and polite to everyone which makes living here a great place to live. There are not to many things to do in this area, but the bus stops really close to here and goes downtown to the bus station where you can transfer and go almost anywhere in Cedar Rapids. The only things that I’m not in favor of would be the rent increases each year and the termination of the cable television, but other than that this is a great place to live

Ive lived it Campus View and Kirkwood Court apartments, both were great for college! Small, not expensive, utilities included, handyman would come fix whatever you need if you put in a work order, and laundry access. Neighbors can be loud and disrespectful but campus police are usually looking out, especially when its nice out. Only complaint really is automatic rent payments get screwed up sometimes and you have to pay a convenience fee each month, and common areas in Kirkwood Courts can get really dirty.

Ive lived here for a year and a half. When I first moved in, my shower had no water pressure or hot water for a few weeks at all. After a while due to roommate issues I moved to a different room. Since then, we had to clean out the old persons stuff ourselves, have lost hot water 3 times each time for a solid few days, and once lost all electrical power for 4 days straight and had to throw out about 100$ worth of food that went bad because it was 110° in the apartment without air-conditioning and with no power to the refrigerator. I had to call the main offices about 6 times over that one because nothing was being done about it. Not to mention that if you cook ANYTHING the fire alarms go off. Ive always payed rent on time and never been a bad neighbor or disrespectful to anyone on the courts campus. It costs $400 PER PERSON to live here. I wouldnt live here again if they cut the price in half. I cant wait til my lease ends and I can get the hell out of here.

I rented an apartment in August. My boyfriend had been living there before me with another roommate whom had moved out a couple months before I moved in. They had 3 deposits, one from each of us. I wrote down all that was wrong with the apartment when the other guy moved out. So they took all of my deposit and are now requesting 378 dollars to cover the rest of it. Not getting any money from me as I wasnt the one who messed it up.Now after talking to Harold I am so happy with how the situation was handled. He was professional and polite and listed to what I had to say. Thank you Harold for helping me figure out this large bill!

For the amount of rent, the apartment was alright. The included utilities reduces the hassle of living. The included internet however, is quite slow. The maintenance was pretty good, the online system mades it easy to initiate maintenance requests. Working with the management on-site was difficult. They were not very accommodating, so working with them was hard. There was also trouble with the security deposit. But Harold from regional management was very professional in reaching out and rectifying the situation.

First bad roommate experience. Second maintenance issues. Third I am very unhappy with how they proceed to charge me $875 after I move out. For instance they charge me $400 for my bedroom carpet that was clean when i left. I feel like they just wanted to keep my deposit. The apartment wasnt in perfect condition roomate wouldnt clean and stuffs but i do know my carpet was clean so charging me $400 was a way too much. As i said above maintenance didnt show up to fix all the time. I wont have any deposit back and its really frustrating when my deposit was double ($600)

Dont be fooled by appearances - the maintenance is good, but that is ALL that is good about these apartments! Ive been here for only 2 months and in that time have had to call the police at least 5 times, and security almost every weekend- not that it has any effect whatsoever. This is a good place for you if you are the type who wants to party nonstop with other morons without having to consider anyone around you, you can sleep through the equivalent of an earthquake, and you have somewhere else to escape to on the weekends.Loud LOUD dance music played until 5am on friday/saturday nights and huge parties going on above my head, multiple calls to security resulting only in the music volume being turned UP. Big groups of drunk guys standing on sidewalk outside my bedroom window shouting, swearing, drinking, fighting, breaking bottles in the parking lot. Scary. Cars with LOUD exhaust coming/going in the parking lot 5 feet away from your window half a dozen times in a night. If you are female and new to the area, I DO NOT recommend moving here. Keep looking!
