My 8 our old daughter has been attending the Homeschool Archery class with no prior experience. I love this place and how patient the owner is. We decided after several months to buy her a bow and arrow. Coach Rockhold let me buy the one she started using from the beginning. Every Monday, my daughter is dressed early and excited to attend. Worth every penny!

My 11 yo son and 9 yo daughter love Rockhold Karate. They just earned their yellow belt and feel so accomplished and proud. As a mom I see their growth and I’m one proud momma! The app he uses is so easy to schedule the class of your choice each day. My kids even participated in a “May the 4th be with you” lightsaber class... so fun! I love that my kids are exercising and having fun all while learning karate! Mom approved!

Im very grateful to have found Rockhold Karate as THE PLACE for our whole family to practice Tang Soo Do, I can see differences in my children regarding coordination, strength and discipline - I would have seen those differences on myself too if I attended more frequently :-( Truly a magical and safe place, my kids love it and respect very much Master Chris, they are looking forward to get the yellow belt soon and are working hard to get it. 5-star recommendation to this place, very human staff.

I have started taking my son to Rockhold karate. I have to say this was one of the best decision I have ever made in my life. My son has speech issues and he was very trusting and used to get bullied by other older children at school. Since he goes to Rockhold karate he became more mature, he has full confidence and he is happier. His teachers Mr Rockhold and Mr Gray have been so patient and understanding with my son and at the same time they have been strict and taught him so much in such short period. These instructors take their time to teach kids not just the technique of marshal arts but they also teach them how to respect friends and learn to be patient. Thank you Mr Rockhold and Mr Gray

My child loves being in the Karate Kids program at Rockhold Karate. Weve tried a little bit of everything from T-ball to dance, but this is the first activity shes actually stuck with. Theres no fighting to go to class because she looks forward to it every time. Master Rockhold and the other instructors are so patient and kind. They all make the lessons fun while still teaching the respect and discipline you would expect to find in a Martial Arts program. We also like the self defense aspect of the training. My child loves showing off to everyone how she is learning to protect herself. We can see measurable growth in her self confidence.We highly recommend Rockhold Karate for any youngsters (or adults) interested in trying karate. Its a great place to get started! There also seem to be a lot of other types of programs, so we are happy to know as her interest grows, shes got other things to try. Five stars for Rockhold Karate! Highly recommended.

My 6 yr old grandson has been in the Rockhold Karate Kids program for the last 7 months. Learning the fundamentals of this martial art has improved his focus and overall well-being. His mother told me that she can tell the difference in his attitude on weeks that we dont make it to class. Rockholds youth instructor, Nick Gray, has a wonderful rapport with the kids. He is empathetic when the situation calls for it, yet commands respect and does an excellent job instilling work ethic, respect and the importance of knowledge. I highly recommend Mr. Nick and Rockhold Karate for anyone looking for a great physical AND mental workout for their children.

We couldnt be happier with Master Rockhold. We have had a six and a four year old in his class for a year. We tried two other local schools prior to Rockhold and were not satisfied. So glad we kept looking!He is extremely friendly and patient with our kids. He keeps them excited about learning the techniques and instilled a self confidence and self discipline that was wonderful to watch. He displays a very nice balance of playfulness and seriousness with the kids. He obviously loves martial arts, and his enthusiasm is contagious.I have seen many kids come in at the start with typical self-control and impulse-control problems. Each ones behavior, lo and behold, improved within a couple of weeks. The studio is very clean and well kept. This is a man with decades of valuable martial arts training & instructive experience.These skills seem to be translating to his students at multiple levels from novice to expert.The students also range in many ages and they seem to be taught carefully and in a detail oriented manner.And even on class dismissals the younger students are released to their specified adult.Also Note: Each type of class has a FREE 1st time trial run.That means there is not much t lose in giving an initial class a test run.So, if you are reading this I would think you are interested enough to swing by, why not, give a class a try.Did I mention there are plenty of Old School weapons in the building and they do get used as well  FUN!!!-WSL

I absolutely love this program! After researching and visiting several other Karate Schools, we were certain that this was the best school for our 5-year old son. Mr. Rockhold is very skilled with kids, and he immediately captured our sons attention. He is extremely patient, while still holding each child accountable for practicing t...he correct technique/moves. The program was different than the others in that I did not have to sign a long-term contract. I also like that we can choose from several class options, and can change the day each week if need be. This will become more important in the fall when our son resumes his busy baseball schedule. I would highly recommend this school for any level of karate enthusiast.

Master Rockhold (Chris) is absolutely amazing! He is so kind, sweet, and patient. He offers multiple classes to accommodate any schedule. I can’t imagine taking my daughter anywhere else. We put our twins in the Karate Kids class. Our son is a natural athlete, but our daughter is an introvert. This studio has been great for both of them. It has help our little girl come out of her shell and has challenged our son physically. Chris Rockhold was great with both kids and really took his time to make sure our daughter was comfortable (she cried the first day). Not only do we love it, but our kids love going. Chris and Mr. Nick are fantastic.

We enrolled our two sons in Rockhold Karate in the summer of 2019. My older son joined the karate kids group, and my younger son was a part of the pre-karate kids group. Our boys have loved attending karate school that theyre happy and willing to go and work hard everyday. Ive never had to coerce them to get ready for karate school, they love going so much.We quickly realized that Rockhold Karate was more than just a martial arts training center. Our sons were getting physical activity, but just as important, they were also learning discipline, focus, attention, self-control, self-respect, and how to honor hard work and personal development.Master Rockhold keeps his school tidy and clean and he works very hard to keep his business running smoothly. He even offers helpful videos on YouTube to supplement his in-person lessons. He also hosts additional events in his school like archery, Star Wars lightsaber classes, and sword fighting camps.Mr. Nick is an exceptional teacher. Hes kind to the kids, but also knows how to encourage them and expect them do their best. Hes able to engage the kids, go from one-on-one to group teaching, manage a bigger class, while also keeping the class fun. My sons respect and appreciate Mr. Nick very much for all that hes taught them.The younger kids in the pre-karate kids class are so lucky because Mr. Nick designs and sets up the BEST obstacle courses. Hes thoughtful in his class planning and truly cares about each student and their potential.Theres a real sense of community among the families here. All the parents are supportive of one another and we cheer on all the kids together. Its nice that this karate school doesnt feel like just another extracurricular activity. I spent hours looking at different schools when I decided it was time for my kids to start Karate. After several interviews and getting a feel of the instructors from those schools, I decided Mr. Rockhold was the man to train with and I have not been disappointed. He has a very in-depth knowledge of what he is teaching and his instructors are first class. After training for several years in other forms, I am very impressed with what he is teaching my kids and me. He holds a very high standard of excellence.

We have been with Rockhold Karate for several months now and we could not be more pleased with our experience. My 10-year old son has been attending Rockhold Karate for more than a year and we would highly recommend them. We started my son in another martial arts school and after 6 months we decided to move him to Rockhold because we didnt feel that he was receiving the skills and discipline that we expected at the other provider. He is now getting that and advancing and taking it serious rather than considering it as playtime like at the other school. All of the staff is very helpful and consistent and its a great program of students of all levels.

Our daughter has been coming here for about 8 months, she loves it. The instructors make it fun and engaging for the little ones. Shes getting some good instruction in discipline, assertiveness and paying attention and all while keeping it fun. Id recommend this class to anyone who wants their child to get some physical activity while learning good life lessons.

Love this school. The instructor is fun, but serious about teaching his students about martial arts. I been in his school learning Korean sword for about 3 months since this review. I always cant wait to learn more.

My son has been attending class here for almost 2 years. We have been so amazed at his progress. Our son is diagnosed ASD so he was really introverted and easily distracted. Since attending Rockhold Karate his self confidence has improved dramatically. We can also tell his ability to focus has also made big strides in improving. He has shown drive towards succeeding in tasks and is actually excited about participating with his peers. Whereas, in the past he avoided most social situations. Our son has enjoyed it so much that our daughter is now enrolled and she equally loves it. Hands down the best decision weve made for an extracurricular activity for our children. We definitely have to give this credit to Master Rockhold and his team.

Master Chris Rockhold and his staff are great! Chris will allow you to take your first class on any of the courses he offers at the school for free. I am currently taking a Tai Chi course at Rockhold Karate and loving it. The fees are most reasonable and the personal instruction is excellent. Our 8 year old has been attending classes for months and he cant get enough of it. We started out with 2 classes a week, but he wanted to go more. We went to 2 times a week for 2 hours each time. He still wasnt getting enough. Were trying to get him there 5 times a week now and hes still loving it. The classes are run well and they keep the kids moving and engaged. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for martial arts instruction.

Rockhold has helped to bring structure and discipline into the life of our young son. As a result, we have seen remarkable changes in behavior, both in school and at home. But, most importantly, as he learns while growing stronger and more confident, he is having fun doing it. The experience has been awesome. Chris Rockhold is AMAZING!!! Our daughter, Jacquelyn learned some great Karate skills from him and his assistant, Nick. I signed up my daughter for karate because she was being bullied at school and also to help with her confidence. Im a student in the Tai Chi class this offered. Ive been very pleased with the class. Everyone in the class is at different levels and everyone is able to work at their own pace with no pressure to catch up or learn at a pace that is too fast or too slow for them. The class is also working on learning a staff form that is amazing fun! I would recommend this class for anyone at any fitness level.

When we moved from Cali to Austin, my two kids didn’t think we would find a karate program like their old one. Our 7th grader has been attending Rockhold Karate “Tang Soo Do” classes for about a year and a half now. Our 5 year old started the Karate Kids class in Feb 2015. It has been such a positive experience for him. He really enjoys the class and he is learning valuable lessons in self defense, personal responsibility, and discipline. Mister Rockhold and Mister Nick are both excellent instructors and are both great with the kids.

Our daughter has been with Rockhold Karate for 8 months in the Karate Kids Class. In that time she has learned so much and has abilities that others comment on outside of class. It has become so apparent that her actions and abilities speak for themselves. Master Rockhold works with each student at the students individual level teaching the fundamentals of the art. Master Rockhold also teaches life skills such as direct communication, confidence and leadership. These are things our children are not born with but learn through growth and experiences. Master Rockhold works directly with the parents and child when discussing each childs goals and abilities. He is flexible when it comes to class schedules, if a student has to misses a class, they can join another class available that week. Master Rockhold is a great teacher who understands children and uses methods that allow the children to have fun while learning. I participate in the Korean Sword class at Rockhold. The class is lots of fun and the instructor is a great person who respects his students and does all that he can to help them. I have attended many different martial arts schools in my life and this one I would highly recommend to you for yourself or your children.

We were looking for means of increasing our daughters confidence, self esteem and discipline when we decided to try a martial arts program. We took our daughter to a couple of introductory classes and she has now been going for about eight months.Our daughter has learned much and takes great pride in the improvement in her skills. Master Rockhold keeps the kids attention and motivates them to continue improvement. There are not specifically assigned sessions for our daughter to attend and we are provided with the freedom of choosing sessions from a listing of those applicable to her age group. Our daughter usually goes to 3 or 4 session per week. We look forward to continued participation in Master Rockholds program and plan to enroll a younger sister in the near future.

Rockhold karate school has an awesome TaiChi session, and I was delighted to see how competent the instructor is. After a few sessions I felt more centered, and learned a lot about balancing, breathing, and purposeful movements. I recommend this class, it will help you at any level and whatever your profession is.
