I love this place! I’ve been going to Clay for years and trust him with all our vehicles. We always get the best service and he is so trustworthy. Never tries to sell me anything I don’t need. He presents me with the options, helps me prioritize what’s important and always has a smile!

Ive been to this place before. They never let me down. My brakes were in really bad shape. I watched them do the repairs and they explained and showed in detail what my issues were. They replaced my inner tie rods 1/2/2021 for $600 I picked my car up with a brand new nail in the side of the tire that they said was there when I dropped it off and here I am with the same bad tie rods 5/9/21 and no money. I can thank the manager of the shop for all the great work he did. I will be getting a lawyer involved. Dont let them steal your money STAY AWAY!Edit: I have added pictures inner tie rod ends in red rack and pinion leak in purple and rack and pinion in blue. And receipt with personal info blocked outAfter posting my review I received a call stating I dont know what Im talking about they replaced the rack and pinion because of my style car, the receipt says inner tie rod ends and as you can clearly see in the pictures neither of those have been touched, and the rack and pinion is still leaking. they also told me they cut me a deal and I need to remove my review, on the receipt you can see they not only charged me full price but also tacked on other services I did not ask for witch is forgivable as that could be used to determine issue with vehicle.However they didnt fix anything they stated they did I also did not get an alignment at this store they charged me for that that was done when I went to replace tires after finding my car here with a nail in the tire. I should have documented that at the time but I was under the impression this is a professional shop with good reviews. I was wrong.

These guys are great. They are friendly, have great communication, and do the service quickly. I actually feel like they’re always looking out for me. I trust their advice and I appreciate them finding the best prices on parts. I’ve been to other shops with an appointment and had to wait but in my experience this one gets to work at your appointment time ! Love not waiting around for hours for routine maintenance!

My check engine light came on and my car is still under warranty. Austin Automotive is a preferred service provider with the warranty company and close to my house. I brought it in on Friday afternoon and by the same time on Saturday it was fixed. They handled everything including dealing with the warranty company on my behalf. It was as simple as that! Great customer service! Completely painless experience.

I went in to have my vehicle inspected for safety and they gave me a rundown on the condition of my vehicle and performed a visual inspection. I was expecting to pay for this service but upon picking up my car I was told it was free of charge since it was such a quick inspection. I will definitely come back in the future, really friendly staff and a clean office.

I needed a vehicle inspection. I called before I went and they gave me a clear expectation of how busy they were, which happened to be that there was no wait. I went in and they helped me immediately and were super friendly and personable. In and out and about 10 to 15 minutes. Outstanding experience. They even had coffee pods, but I didnt have time to drink my coffee because they were so fast.

Clay is awesome. Period. Super nice and very knowledgeable, I asked for his opinion on aftermarket products for my Mini and felt he gave me an honest answer and explained why I should not go that route. Highly recommended this shop!

I called Austin Automotive after having my A/C diagnosed at another shop to remain un-named. Original shop wanted almost 2X the price for the part and 3X the Labor cost. I knew the original cost estimate was HIGH but didnt realize how much. Ryan confirmed his telephone quote when I dropped off my vehicle and had it ready when promised. A/C temperature control works great and we no longer have an irritating clicking noise that no one could find for years. I have used this location on Bell Avenue near Avery Ranch before for wheel alignment but Ill be back for other repairs after this great experience.

You can trust this place! I don’t trust ANY car mechanic shops in this area anymore. Many of them have tried to rip me off & scam me for things that literally don’t even exist on my car! Really, they tried to tell me that I needed something replaced that I found out later doesn’t even exist on a Chevy Camaro. Glad I walked away & got a second opinion on that one. So… I was skeptical going into Austin’s Automotive Specialists. I thought my blend door was broken on my a/c, which is a $3,000 repair on a Chevy Camaro. These guys could have EASILY lied & agreed that a broken blend door was the issue and took my hard earned money, but they didn’t. They said all it needs is to be cleared out & recharged. They also could have tacked on some fake leak repairs. I would have believed that there were leaks in my a/c considering it wasn’t cooling anymore… but again, they didn’t. Instead, they said there were no visible leaks, but they would add dye to the system so IF the freon leaks back out, we can easily find where the leak is. My husband & I could have just bought some freon & recharged the system ourselves at home for less money, but it was worth getting it cleared out & having the dye put in for any possible leaks that might come up later. And these guys gained my trust, so it was worth it to pay them to do it for me. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions. I will be back. You can trust these guys! I can only speak for the Cedar park location… I have not dealt with other locations.

Went in about an hour before closing time on a Monday, prepared to be told they couldn’t get to my car inspection. They had it completed and I was out the door in about a half hour! Waiting area was pleasant and staff was professional. We go here for all of our car needs that don’t require the dealership, been a loyal customer since move to Austin 7 years ago. Clay and team are great!

I was very impressed with their excellent level of professionalism. A/C repair is seldom a minor fix and they found a compressor at a decent price with a Napa warranty. They took my car in right away and everything was done in a single day. I was also impressed with the cleanliness of their garage which projected confidence that it would be done right.

They guys at Austins Automotive Specialists were phenomenal in helping make a bad situation better. My car was taken in for electrical work, but the tow company damaged my differential in the process. They did a great job explaining to me exactly what the damage was and how it could have happened, which resulted in a settlement from the tow company. They were great at communicating where my vehicle was in the repair process, and now it drives like a dream. Two thumbs way, way up. Ill recommend them to anyone!

Amazing! I was in Austin visiting when my daughter mistakenly put diesel in my car. Austin’s helped with getting my car moved from dealership, fixed it and even worked with me to get my car back in my possession after I had to return home. 100% recommendation them. I made an early 8am appointment for a wheel alignment, but it wasnt completed until 5pm (not sure why). I also wanted them to take a look at another issue on the car, but that wasnt addressed at all - they simply forgot to look into it. However, they did discount the repair job which is appreciated. Friendly staff, but this particular visit was less than satisfactory.

These guys are the best around! I used to take my car to Christian Brothers Automotive because I trusted their service and they always treated me right, but CBA can be so dang sloooooooow. Austins Automotive Cedar Park has the same level of care and quality service without having to wait around all day. Ryan and the manager Clay have always been super helpful, kind, professional, and trustworthy, and I will happily take my car to them again and again!

I’ve got a 2010 wrangler that was failing it’s inspection due to an air leak in the fuel system. Clay and his team walked through the fuel intake to the line to the pump to the tank, creating some different solutions which weren’t just “oh you need to buy a new xyz” on every aspect. They always answered the phone for status updates and worked the entire process around a kid going to and from Denton for college. It’s done now, the Jeep accelerates (and passes inspection ha!) like it should and knowing also this is Napa warrantied, anywhere in the US, how can a college parent feel much better about the safety for their kid post repair?Moving my auto repair and maintenance work here. It’s a nice feeling, like when you trust your barber. Very pleased with them

Do your research before bringing your car to this Cedar Park location! The Research Blvd. location I give 4 stars for their outstanding service and prices. I brought my 2008 Hyundai Santa Fe in for a noise that wasnt normal. It sounded like a belt issue. Clay, the front desk representative who assisted me gave me a call to go over the situation telling me it was the starter & gave me a quote of $667 for replacing it. WHAT?!! Youre kidding me!?! My husband and several automotive shops were in disbelief. The part itself is $87 for a remanufacture. A new one roughly costs anywhere between $168 to $200 and labor is roughly $110 to $150 depending on the service. So, hmmm...that comes out to $ 400 or a little over. But ALMOST $700 is seriously taking advantage. Im so disappointed with them. I paid the $61 for the diagnosis but I will never go back to them. My husband found a place in Round Rock and it is only costing me $318 for labor and parts.

I stopped by for a vehicle safety inspection and worked with manager Clay and his team. I can clearly see why this place is so highly rated. I appreciate an extremely quick service (less than 15 min here vs 2 hours last year when I got this done at Firestone), professionalism, friendly staff right from the time I called them until I drove my car out. Although, this was a minor task, I will definitely go back to Clay for any advice on my car and future service needs!

This trip was just for my state inspection( which was done very quickly) but I have gone to them for many years now. The manager, Clay Homann, is the reason I always use them. The first time I met him I was debating to keep my car or sell it, knowing i’d have to do some maintenance on it if I was going to pass the upcoming inspection. Clay impressed me more than anyone I’ve ever taken my car to. He examined my car then he took me into the bay and showed me exactly what needed to be done to pass and what could wait. As a woman by myself I appreciated physically seeing that for myself and his honesty in what could wait a little longer. Also, the prices he quoted me were way cheaper than the quotes I’d gotten from the dealership. Me, my husband, my brother-in-law always go here now.

My AC stopped blowing cold air and I assumed that maybe the compressor was bad. Took it in to Austin Automotive Specialist and met Clay. He’s really cool and explained potential problems for my AC system in detail. They set up a plan of action for me, serviced the AC and sent me on my way. I’m satisfied with the service and know I can trust these people to do the job right. They didn’t try to sell me on extra parts or services I don’t need and that’s rare these days especially for someone like me who is new to the area and from out of state. I will be using their services again.

I was referred to AAS by a family member who used them to do a pre-purchase inspection on a used vehicle. They found out that there was hidden damage to the vehicle and saved him for purchasing a lemon. So I decided to use them as well for the same purpose when I bought a used Ford F-150. Clay and his team did an outstanding job, with the truck coming back with a clean report. It gave me a much needed piece of mind knowing that I was spending money on a quality vehicle and that they didnt find anything wrong for the sake of it just to make a quick buck. They are my new go to for any & all automotive needs!

Though I was not able to get my car serviced through them, they were extremely helpful. My car had overheated a block away from their autoshop and I arrived 40 min before close. They said theyd check it out but wouldnt be able to service it til the next day. However since I lived in South austin and could not manage to find a ride back for my daughter and I, it was impossible for me. Though they recommended against me driving the vehicle back they understood and even topped off the coolant for the trip. Excellent customer service and genuinely good people.

Recently brought my car in for an AC issue and Clay not only answered the phone and said he could help me same day but he was there when I got there to reassure me they would take a look and give me a call. A few hours later the car was fixed and I got a call the car was ready for pick up. The cost was hundreds less than I expected and both he and Ryan were helpful! Clay is a terrible manager and will not take responsibility for his shops mistakes. He got very aggressive when I pointed out the inner handle they broke. Started asking oh did we break this and this too?? as if it was an excuse for breaking things. Not fit to manage, overcharged and underperformed.Edit: To the response, you sound like Clay as he kept blaming me for the car that was returned to me with a handle torn out. No one else has ever managed to tear out my handle, and I dont even know how you could do it. Clay handled the situation worse than his shops mistake though. He easily could have apologized and said there was nothing he could do about it, but instead he got aggressive and looked like he wanted to fight over this.

We always feel very comfortable taking our cars here. They have fair prices and very friendly customer service. I also really appreciate that they arent condescending towards me because Im female (its happened several times to me at other places). We always receive a call with the work they recommend doing along with prices before work is done. We always recommend them to everyone!

Saw all the great reviews and had an oil change coupon so decided to give them a go.Pro: Truly friendly and courteous staff. Relatively quick oil change.Con: After asking at checkout if fluid levels were topped up - specifically windshield washer fluid - and being told yes, I proceeded home. Along the way, I tested my wiper fluid and nothing came out. When I got home, I popped the hood and the tank was completely empty. Resultantly purchased my own and filled it up.Probably just a one off circumstance, but as a first time customer, was disappointed in the QC process of the work. Makes me wonder (rightfully so) if any other of the 40 or 50 point inspection items were also glazed over.

Every time I have ever tried calling this place, to shop around and/or ask questions for myself or a friend the mechanic was extremely rude. I dont understand how this place has good reviews at all!! Coming from the east Coast and having a family who works on cars, to be met with such patronizing staff is a appalling. I rarely leave bad reviews, but I felt that people should get a more well rounded view of the truth for this establishment. And as far as price goes, I have definitely found better.

Thete was about 5 or more in getting or awaiting service, yet I gave them my keys, and within 25 minutes, I had the service completed, and everyone else were either done or on the way to being finished. This has been my go to shop for every car that I have owned since 1996, and they have always done a very professional job.

I love bringing my car to Austin Automotive. I have an older vehicle which needs a bit more work and they have always done a great job at repairs and communicating with me on what is being done and what should be looked into. I have no plans on taking my car to any other shop.

Ive been going to Austin Automotive for a few years now. Usually Im quite satisfied. However, we had our cooling system serviced about a month ago. To the tune of $1200. Last week while in line to get coffee, we had an issue. We had to pay $150.00 for a tow to Austin Automotive. Next day it was repaired but were told it was due to an error on mechanics part and repaired out of his own pocket. That means nothing to me, he was one that made mistake. I asked about reimbursement for tow but were told that that is something you dont do. We had driven 2 hours away from home with family the week before. That tow and inconvenience wouldve cost us even more in $$ and frustration. I think this is a poor business practice.Also...I had my brakes done here almost 2 years ago. I have taken it in to have them at least 8 times to have them looked out because back right brake squeals. I am told thats normal. But after I had issue with coolant system error now they suddenly want to do something about my brakes.I really like the people at this shop but Im getting fairly frustrated by it now.

I went for an alignment and my state inspection and had a wonderful experience. I made an appointment online but they also take walk-ins. Service was prompt and quick. They didn’t try to up-sell me on anything which happened last year at Lamb’s for a problem that turned out to not even be a real problem. It can be hard to find honest and quick car work but the guys here really have it down. I’ll definitely be back.

Extraordinarily professional and perfectly priced. I replaced the rear axle assembly in my truck by myself and wanted a wheel alignment and second opinion of my work. They were surprised I was able to do that, and performed the inspection and wheel alignment for a very reasonable cost. I’m a DIY guy but given the pricing and service offered, I will very likely be taking my Silverado here for more maintenance.
