We had a big mishap with our ‘08 Infinity M35. The guys at Meineke were awesome! We were up against a tight schedule to get the car back. Daniel and Matt went above and beyond with their professionalism and expertise. They kept us up to date on the repairs and delivered the car in time for our trip. They are honest and dependable. By far the best customer service I have ever received at an auto center. My check engine light was on, and was a tricky fix. My mechanic Mike was great, he made sure I understood all of the issues with my car and how he would fix them. Great guy and even better mechanic. Will definitely be back

Originally came in for an oil change, and was surprised to learn about some upcoming issues for my car maintenance. The guys here at the shop were able to fix them no problem and were very courteous. Definitely can feel a difference in the handling of the car even with the short trip from the shop. Thanks again!

DO NOT TRUST!!! I called the day before the oil change service as I was visiting the area and comparing prices. The manager quoted me $69.95 plus $4 for any additional quarts. I found this to be competitive so I made an appointment. When the bill totaled over $116.00, I was shocked. They charged me $20 for labor, $9 for a shop fee, and $4.95 for an oil filter even though it clearly states oil filter under oil change description. This might not seem much, but its the point. I called ahead to confirm a price and was lied to. I called Meineke headquarters to report this shop and was promised a follow up the next week. This was on 7/21 and Im still waiting on a call........Edited-8/13/18. I was contacted by Marvin the Assistant manager who graciously offered to make things right. Therefore, I am changing my previous rating. I appreciate that he took the time to hear me out and that he truly cares about his customers and his business.

I went to get breaks done! The service was good the price was fair. The waiting room was comfortable. Customer service was really amazing. Everything was fixed and down in a timely manner. Definitely recommend!!!!

Admittedly, I was skittish in trusting my truck with Meineke. However, this shop is a standout. The crew is professional, and gets the job done quickly and efficiently. They have a no-frills kind of way of doing things and my Ford and I like that. A lot. Highly recommend these guys.

I have been a happy customer since I moved to Durham in 2010. I am on my second vehicle and aside from tires I have never taken my cars anywhere else to be serviced. First I dealt with Fabian, now I deal with Chris and I love them both. Oil change prices are one of the best in the area and they do a thorough inspection of my vehicle and honestly report any repairs needed after. I have had a full brake job done, a wheel bearing replaced, state inspections, among many other things and I have never been disappointed. While my dealership priced jobs I could not afford, each time I bring to Meineke Chris helps me find a more affordable option for my issue. Yes some jobs are pricey but trust me they would be anywhere. Where you save in buying your own parts you will spend more money for labor at other locations. I always suggest this location to my friends and family and they even have my fathers approval. Chris has even worked with my parents over the phone when they were taking care of a problem with my car for me. His customer service was amazing; I never had to relay information from Meineke to my parents as Chris called them and took care of all of this, even taking payment, for me. I simply dropped off my car, left my parents number, and Chris called me to pick it up when it was done. I love that they provide honest service. I enjoy seeing a familiar face each time I visit. Thank you Meineke for your consistent amazing service!

Meineke in Durham is a wonderful place to take your car! My knowledge of cars is very slim but Aaron the manager thoroughly helped me and answered any questions I had. The technicians were quick and fixed exactly what I needed done & for a good price. I would highly recommend this shop to anyone!

Had to have a lot of exhaust work done on my car and recieved excellent service for a good price. The guys who worked on my car insisted on showing me exactly what was wrong and how they fixed it. They clearly are passionate about their jobs, take pride in their work, and want to make sure youre happy with the work that was done. Will definitely return for future repairs!

Got an oil change here. Came out to about 85 bucks for a full synthetic oil change and that included a tire rotation for free. The price was comparable to the dozen garages around it. They had me in and out in under an hour. Their waiting area leaves something to be desired but theyre within walking distance of a coffee shop and restaurants

Gave me an estimate of $4,000 in repairs and failed my inspection. Came here for an inspection. They told me to come back because they are getting their new inspection machine. I could have gone somewhere else, but I waited to come back next week since I got my inspection done here last year. After coming back the manger/rep took the keys and 1 hour later told me my car needs $4,000 worth of repairs. I am the only owner of my car, all repairs done on time, no noises or issues, no check engine light on. They still charged me $22 for inspection even though they failed it. I just ended up taking to another shop next day and they passed my inspection on the spot with no issues. They explained me that, most of these franchises like Meineke, managers/front desk reps work on commission. They do not make much on an inspection but once a customer comes for an inspection it is an opportunity for them to make money on repairs. But even they agreed $4,000 worth of repairs was ridiculous and they were trying to make money of me.

Good counter staff and mechanics. I use them as my primary mechanic and have no complaints. The waiting area isnt fancy but is adequate. The location is convenient to RTP and South Durham. Theyre reliable enough that I still use them when I have to travel there from north Durham or north Raleigh.

I brought my 2002 Dodge 1500 in for a check engine light and Orlando the mechanic diagnosed a head gasket leak. Orlando did and incredible job diagnosing and repairing the engine. He is by far one of the best mechanics I have ever dealt with and the Manager Mr. Baker did an outstand job explaining what needed to be done and keeping me informed every step of the way. Above all they are honest and very friendly they truly care about their customers. I would highly recommend them for any automotive need.

Weve gone to this Meineke location for 5 years for everything from oil changes to car maintenance. Their customer service is fantastic. The staff has always been very friendly and professional, offering honest opinions and assessments on repairs. Were also pleased with the quality of their work-- our two old cars are still humming along nicely!

These guys are always so fast and efficient! Their prices are always reasonable, and not ripoffs, and I never feel like theyre trying to find unnecessary ways to get more money from me. I love that when I call and ask if they have time to fit me in, they are always honest about whatever wait time they may have, as opposed to just getting me in and having me wait hours. All great! They accurately diagnosed my muffler issue. Did the work quickly (ready same day). And only charged their estimate price.And as PROOF of how good Meineke is I had earlier asked a Ford dealership about my car problem. Same diagnosis, but the estimate at Ford was $1,100+ vs Meineke’s $685. Just wow. Ford was 60%+ more expensive! And Ford said they couldn’t get the part for 2 to 3 days. And Meineke actually showed me the problem and explained it. ... I’m with Meineke from now on.

The guy at the service desk personally showed me my rotors (which desperately needed to be replaced) and was even able to explain to me why they could not be resurfaced due to the thickness of the metal. I was truly in a bind today and the Durham Meineke saved my skin... thank you.

I had a problem with my truck when I got to work. I needed a quick fix and called. They were very generous and helpful. They got me in and out quickly with the situation solved. Even the mechanic working on my vehicle was very friendly and listened to my needs instead of blowing me off assuming I didnt know what I was talking about. Because of the professionalism, and the customer service I received along with expertise they exhibited, I do highly recommend this place for all of your vehicle needs!

After 5 years of coming here with no problems, I had a bad repair and customer service experience in 2016. However, its my understanding that management and mechanics have changed, and new management seems well versed in customer service. I will give them another try after speaking with the new manager.

The good part is they gave a time frame and finished within time. But my wife went for an oil change today and ended up paying $80 and that is crazy. This location told her she needed to change the air filter with is super simple to do and cheap to buy from auto zone. Reading other comments seems like they try to stiff you by upselling. Be careful. I wont be back to this place.

I was asked to change my review and I will. This is the WORST Meineke to go to and I definitely WOULD NOT recommend anyone going to get their vehicle fixed there. They supposedly fixed my breaks, amongst numerous things. I always had to come back to this place numerous times to get a situation fixed. I decided to go to another location and they have gave them the run around. I’m so sick of them and they are no help, no matter what Aaron says. Now I have to find a way home because I’m having to leave my car, as the parts won’t be in until this Friday. According to Aaron, that’s not his problem. I can’t get in contact with the owner so I guess this will do. I spent thousands of dollars at this location just to receive poor service. Maybe my attorney will have a better experience with them then I have. Try the Meineke off of Milbrook in Raleigh for your car needs.

The mechanic was very honest with me. I felt really comfortable with everything they told me. I am also going to come back to get any work done to my car. They called me back with a diagnostic on my car really fast and they even stayed open longer to wait for me to go pick up my car.

I came down here from MA for work and TBIS was the first car shop I visited, and I surely lucked out. These dudes are awesome. Friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient. Is there a possible for a negative star? Quoted $196 to fix the car. Had to order parts and would not be available until today, fine. Go to pick up the car $1119...... How did it jump so much?. Jeff the manager said I must have misunderstood him. Paid the bill and left obviously upset. Just drove the car, foul burning smell comong out of the back and the interior of the car is filled with noxious fumes. Will definitaly be there at opening tomorrow to see how they fix this.... Great experience with a full brake replacement on a late model SUV. Heavy rust made for a challenging job, but they took care of me and only fixed what needed fixing. Ron the manager was very professional and made sure I was aware of the progress. I recommend this place to others.

BEWARE! Dishonest service. I went in for an oil change on 8/30/18 and was told that I urgently needed back rotors and brake pads and it would cost about $250. As this was my moms car, I wasnt sure when she last had brake work done. I told meineke that I wanted to shop around for the best price. Its a good thing I did because I took it to another repair place, they took off my tires and showed me that I needed NO brake work. My brakes were fine! I dont know if they tried to cheat me because I was a woman bringing my car in, but this kind of deceit is outrageous.

I am a student a Central and I come here all the time for my car repairs. I usually get oil changes and I have recently had to replace a head gasket. As always Meineke took great care of me and my car! Thank you Meineke! You guys are awesome!

Good price for an oil change, and good customer service. Ron takes the time to explain and demonstrate problems and their solutions. I am very anxious about having my car worked on but I felt that it was in good hands when Ron took me into the shop and showed me how the rotors on my car were worn and measured them right in front of me. He can explain in simple or complex terms how any part on the car works, and doesnt make you feel bad for asking!

Update- Meinekes solution to providing better customer service and try to help is to call me and say they will give me my money back for the battery if I change my review to positive. They will withhold the refund until they see the positive review. I want to make sure everyone knows how they operate, and their lack of integrity. Bribing me doesnt solve problems.Original post- I would not trust this place and I dont plan to go back to any Meineke after being a Meineke customer for many years. They replaced my battery that still should have been under warranty and made me pay for it rather than telling me I should call the battery company to get it replaced under warranty which I found out 3 weeks after the fact from Meineke corporate. I cant do anything about it now which is unfair.

The service was awesome, but it took nearly two hours for me to get a oil change done. The service engineers were very nice and helpful and gave me an honest opinion when I had questions regarding my service. Bette make an appointment before you go though might save you some time.

Had a problem with a power steering pump their turned out to be part issues with the part provider. The Meineke team here made sure it was fixed right for exactly what they quoted me. The service writers treated me and my wife extremely well. They could have given up, or thrown other parts at our car at our cost they did not. I have found a car repair shop with people I trust I will be back! Thank you!!

I was in Durham for one day after driving here from Pittsburgh. 100 miles outside of Durham on my trip from Pittsburgh, my car developed a grinding noise from the rear left wheel. I called both Subaru dealers in town and their service departments were book and were not willing to look at my car due to their full service schedule (I needed to be back in Pittsburgh that night). I called this Meineke shop and they also had a full schedule but they understood my dilemma and fit me in anyway. They successfully diagnosed the problem and the prices were fair. I am very grateful for the managers assistance with getting me back on the road - thanks Ron Brewer! I would highly recommend this shop to those in the Durham area.

Drop my car off to be fixed, spent 500 and then car stopped working the next hour after leaving.... been over a month to get a solution which was for me to pay for a mistake and damage they caused... owner and store manager has been nothing less rude and unprofessional. Owner has neglected to contact me after numerous requests to store manager and meineke corporate office. Even with evidence and recording I still have to pay for the damage caused by by the technician and the store manager

My daughters car broke down on I40 and she managed to get her car to the firestone close to this Meineke and they wanted to charge her $100 just to diagnose the problem. She took it to Meineke and they found the issue of a loose fitting sensor connector, cleaned it up reconnected it. The problem was resolved and they didnt charge her a nickel! Top shelf crew here. Would recommend 1000 times over.

The young man that handled my service was very unprofessional, had to request the windshield sticker. He couldnt find a sharpe. Ear bud mysteriously disappeared. #Bad customer service,#very unprofessional behavior,#untrustworthy characteristics. Better off papaying full price at jiffylube.

Ive been bringing my car for service here for over three years. Their service is always polite, trustworthy, and prompt. Theres also free wifi in the waiting area, and they usually have a good movie playing too.

I would not use this location for any exhaust upgrades for your car. The Techs are unprofessional and willing to physically fight with customers. Also the manager will lie straight faced to a customer and not fix a failed down pipe install.

I had a terrible experience. Ron had poor customer service. He left me standing at the front desk without telling me to have a seat or giving me any info about my problem. I took my car to meineke to get fixed and the first time I left the shop my car broke down on my way home. The next day after they fixed my car it felt like my car was going to blow up, it was shaking bad. Then I heard Ron tell the mechanic that my car wasnt his problem. I spent $600 and with better customer service I would have spent more money.

I have been going to this location since 2011. I have had nothing but good experiences. The customer service is excellent and the work is good. The location is clean and I highly recommend. I will continue to patronize this location.

I needed to get my Enclave repaired and did not want to take it to the dealership due to a recent experience. Also, I needed a place close to my house so I chose Meineke. The people were very helpful and friendly. It was discovered that my water pump was leaking when my vehicle was inspected for something else. I was surprised by this since my vehicle was relatively new. I decided to see if it leaked that evening and it did so I returned the next day to have the water pump replaced and was lucky that Meineke found this issue. Was a nice place to sit with my young daughter as well while the vehicle was repaired. I recently called regarding this repair since GM had a recall on this item and Melvin was a great help! Thank you Meineke!

I just called to trying to get a tire mounted in my car and they told me that they were closed... That website say that they close at 6:00 pm .. it was 5:20 when I called ...What kind of customer service is that .. ???Now Im outside putting air in my tire hopefully I can make it home save ... Seriously? Tom is his name. I got my truck taken here for a simple water pump replacement and. Wheel bearing repair. Took 5 days. Not only that a week later (yesterday) after the biggest snow storm my belt slips. Me and my two children lives were in danger and Tom says he has nothing to do with it. Science tells us in order to replace a water pump you have to take the belt off. Had no issues with my truck besides these things that were repaired now afterwards it leaks oil and I almost die. Tom man up to your actions you have faulty work and karma will catch up to you. Please I am not lying if you want to be treated fairly and like your vehicle and time matters do not go here. This is an honest and truthful review.

Mr. Melvin was amazing today was just one of those days and he made sure I got everything I needed he was very friendly thats what makes the difference between a regular car shop and this one so I would recommend this place to everyone

I had a steering wheel leak and had taken it somewhere else to diagose the problem but after I spoke to Colleen (nice lady) at Meineke she asked me to bring it into the shop and have them take a look. Turned out the leak was not as bad as I had been told elsewhere. They fixed it along with my hood latch issue and gave me some good discounts. Will go back again.

I had a terrible oil leak and I was told by one mechanic that it was the oil pan, another told me it was a valve cover thingy. When I took it to Meineke in Durham, they cleaned all the oil from the engine area, put a dye in and watched the leak happen and found it was the distributor thingy. I cleaned (as best I could) the garage, put down some kitty litter to soak up the oil and the next morning when I came outside....nothing under my car. A-MAZING!!! Oh and as a side note, this place is really clean and the waiting room is very nice. They were playing GREASE on the television. My new mechanic....Meineke Durham.

I came in for an exhaust repair, and also an oil change. My exhaust was beyond rusted, and Needed a whole new one, they did an amazing job! Im beyond happy, it sounds sooooo nice! Oil change was quick too lol(: if in durham this is definitely the place to go!

I took a friend of mine to pick her car up today. Needless to say these people have put her through the wringer. Theyve had her car for several days just to change 2 tires. The tires werent ordered when they said they did order them, they gave her the runaround about when it would be taken care of and lied to her about the cost. While we were there today the guy at the counter all of a sudden didnt know anything about her car or charges that werent supposed to charged. It was a horrible experience and I will never take my car there after everything my friend has gone through.

After having work done by this Meineke, I took our vehicle to another shop for an oil change. The other shop couldnt get the oil filter cap off, and was unable to complete the work. Im not sure if the Meineke replaced the cap improperly or the other shop was using an improper tool to remove it, but Melvin at Meineke agreed to replace the cap at no charge.

I would give Meineke ZERO stars if possible. They could not do a simple brake job on my wifes Toyota Corolla. They tried to fix their shoddy work twice with no success. In the end what should of been a simple (and cheap) brake job turned into an additional $500 in repair bills for Toyota to fix Meinekes work. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. THIS PLACE IS A RIP-OFF. THEY WILL ONLY COST YOU MORE MONEY!!!

I wish I could give no stars. Never going back. Went in for a simple welding of exhaust that was causing engine to lose back pressure and sputter. I waited patiently for over 2 hours in the waiting room only to be told that my converter and muffler were in fact leaking, and it was beyond repair. I was in total shock, considering I bought the entire exhaust less than a year ago. So I get the car back, only to jack it up to find that not only was there little to no leaks at the muffler, but the converter couldve easlily been welded shut. But no matter. Such places are great for lying to people who dont have the luck of knowing the first thing about cars. Went to autozone and picked up a 6 dollar muffler weld putty and my car drives better than ever. No money wasted, only time and effort.Also, they did their multi point inspection, re-installed my brake pads incorrectly, and caused an insatiable squeal the whole drive home. Found that the pads were scratching a groove into the rotor due to improper positioning. But again, no matter. Ill go to autozone and get the brakes and change them myself. Thought I could spend money and spare the effort, but I guess its best to do it yourself.

Ive been going to this location since 2008. After today Im done. The last few times I went to get my car serviced the prices were actually higher than what they told me when I gave them the keys, in fact each time I would have saved money by going to the dealership. I went there today with the intention of paying $20 for a oil change and ended up paying $85. Ive never paid that for an oil change before. I was told I could use regular oil but synthetic was recommend. 30 mins later they offer to change my filters I said no Ill change them later, myself. Then 15 mins later they tell me I can only use synthetic oil. so I say ok (just because I need to leave for work soon..the whole reason my appointment was set very early in the morning). When I go to pay Im thinking this is going to be 75 but no I was charged for a special bolt which is code for we stripped your bolt and had to use another, so we charged you for it. getting my oil changed at the dealership would have cost $60.

I was referred to this location about 2 1/2 to 3 yrs ago and I have been very pleased with the service and overall experience since that time. Even though I do not live in the area anymore, I still bring my car in to be serviced. They have always explained any issue they found and walked me through available options, that worked to my advantage and my budget, and that is something I greatly appreciate. I have found them to be reputable, knowledageable, and fair. I typically hate waiting partcularly in car centers, but it is not so bad because the facilities are clean and comfortable, and everyone is professional and friendly. I feel comfortable bringing and leaving my car with them because I know they care about my business and my satisfaction. I can depend on them to address my car issues, and they always try to fit me in and accomodate my time. It is good knowing I have a place I can depend on to keep my car in the best shape it can be. I had been going to Meineke to do general maintenance on my Pontiac, since I moved here a year ago in November 2011. Everything had been going fine up until the summer, (I think they changed management and a few employees.) My first problem with them was when they said I needed a new coil for a tune up. I wanted to check around for a cheaper price, a Firestone in the Raleigh area said they would charge 50$ less. When they took a look at my coil, they said it was fine and did not need to be replaced (200$ for the part plus labor) I felt like I was being ripped off. Second, my fiance hit an animal that ran across the road one night and swerved off the road and hit the side of the car. Although there was no body damage, my car was shaking in the front, and steering was a problem. Meinike was the closest repair shop so we took the Pontiac there; they said I had a bent rim and a problem with the axle and boot. Although I dont drive the Pontiac a lot I noticed a problem within 2 weeks there was a dragging sensation when I turned and constant squeaking sound in the front. It turns out they did a shoddy repair (under warranty that they provided) they needed to RE-repair what they didnt fix very well the first time, but to top it off, that same day I needed lights replaced in the back of my car so I had them do that in the same visit. I was quoted for 3 lights at 35$ 9,99 per light including labor. I had a feeling I could get them cheaper else where but I always drive at night and figured I should get them done that day, rather then wait. So I gave them the ok, They stated a light by my license plate may cost more then 9.99, So I told them to call me if it cost more, because I had just paid bills and hadnt got my paycheck yet. Later that evening when they called they stated they replaced 6 bulbs and I would be paying 70$ for the service, but they did not have my permission to do the extra lights, regardless of the fact that I could afford to pay for them. You cant just do repairs and add cost to someones bill and assume that would be ok with the customer. I found it very unprofessional and told them so, I also said that I would no longer go to them for repairs and maintenance. (Although they did say they could take out the extra bulbs and take off the cost, that wasnt the point) They did do a great bulb installation and shinned the plastic where my lights where. So I paid for the bulbs and called it a day. Overall I feel they do a good job with general maintenance, and minor repairs, but I wouldnt trust them with anything intricate, because after I got my car back, and supposedly fixed what they messed up in the first place, there is still a squeaking sound, no dragging, just a rumbling sensation.

My wife took our 2011 Toyota Corolla to fix a simple flat-tire in Durham/RTP meineke and got the job done by friendly personals!!! I am happy that our car got fixed by Meineke professionals quickly...But I am NOT happy that after a free multi-point check at meineke, I was given an estimate for several hundred dollars to fix a handful (including to flush transmission fluid because of discoloration) which requires immediate attention and $$$ according to meineke. Later (a week after meineke service) I took my car to a local toyota dealership who mentioned no service is required now and they couldnt see any discoloration of transmission fluid after a free multi-point check. Who is wrong here? I will let the readers judge here!!! Dont get me wrong, at times I will not believe everything that the Toyota dealership will tell me either!!! Anyway I will think twice before taking my car here for service next time around.UPDATE on Jan 2016:I wanted to give this Meineke another try, to check it for myself. I called them to see if they can fill me in for oil change one morning and I was told that I can walk right in without any appointment... I like that!!! I went with my friend for an oil change and asked for free multi-point check for his Honda Odyssey and was told it will be about 45 minutes before we can head out. I was called by one of their managers, right on time... I like that too!!!Take home here is just judge this place for yourself, but looks to me like proffessionals here in Meineke and nice guys especially... I will take our cars to them again, not just coz this place just minutes drive from my home in Cary or the center/ waiting area is nice and clean but above all they are all nice people, here.

Went here for a routine oil change. As soon as I pulled out of the shop, my brake light started flashing and beeping. They inspected it and told me this is my car alerting me to replace my brake pads within the next few months. When I asked why this is just happening now, they told me there had probably been dirt that was keeping the alert from being communicated until now. When I went to a VW dealership to get my brake pads replaced, the VW mechanics told me that my brake pads are fine, and showed me that the brake light is on because the meineke mechanic didnt close the cap to the brake fluid or the cap to another fluid tank under my hood, and also because they had left my emergency brake on! I cant believe the meineke mechanics dont even close the caps to things or take the emergency brake off after theyre finished servicing the car, and that they will make up a lie like your brake pads need replacing instead of simply checking under the hood and seeing they forgot to screw a cap!Plus, I left aggravated because they charged me too much, which I had to confront them about so that they would give me a refund. Even after the refund, I still ended up paying more than I expected because I didnt realize that when they advertise a basic oil change for $19.95, that really means $19.95 plus a bunch of disposal fees. Apparently this is standard practice, but as a new car owner I didnt know that, and so I left paying more than I expected. It was not a positive experience, and the manager got defensive about the pricing, telling me that I should have known that I would be paying more than the advertised price. DO NOT GO HERE!

Trust them to take care of my car. The wait is ridiculous even when you have an appointment.

I have been coming to this Meineke since it opened about 3 years ago. The first time I went I had a rear break job done. Everything went well. Break jobs are not usually complicated so I felt that was simple task. However, the customer service was exceptional! Thats what has kept me coming back. In addition the the customer service I must say that this is be FAR the most clean and upkept auto repair shop of anykind that I have ever been to! It always looks and smells clean! I have reccomened several people to theis shop over the past 3 years including my Mom and my elder sister. They both love this shop aslo! Keep up the good work guys! :)
